Guest Reviews
- Anthony (10/5): - Quirky rooms, close to Fortitude Valley restaurants and venues, friendly check-in.
- Richard (6/5): - No parking, owner and late staying guest threating to stab each other out side my door. It's a bit much.
- Carol Sandra (8/5): - This property was very "quirky". Perfect for an over night stay. Clean and tidy. Everyone was really nice. Easy check in, great location
Woud stay again.
- Julianne (2/5): - No one at reception on arrival - had to call them to come. Had half an hour to get ready before being picked up- noticed one of the single beds had obviously been slept in but didn’t have time to do anything. On return at 11.30 pm noticed that even though the toilet had a ‘cleaned and sealed’ banner on it there was faeces on the inside of the toilet. The shower had not been cleaned - particularly the little alcove where there was the top of a razor. The bin was also half full of someone else’s rubbish. There was people coming and going all night and it actually felt unsafe. This place was appalling and should not be allowed to operate. I want my money back- I did not receive the advertised service of a clean room and this place does not deserve and payment!
- Alejandro (10/5): - Great unique hotel and fair price ;)
- Imogen (10/5): - The rooms theme was very cool vibes
And safe walk to valley
Staff were amazing
- Lisa (8/5): - Liked the artwork, however not as impressive as photos suggested. Staff were polite but disinterested
- Peter (2/5): - I wasn't able to check into the property as the receptionist deemed i had insufficient documentation. So despite me paying in full for this property prior to arriving to check in i was turned away and had to organise an alternative stay at extra cost. I am actively seeking a refund from the Amelia Hotel for my non stay.
Appalling behaviour.
- Richard (10/5): - Great place to stay, clean and tidy, close to the valley
- Vanessa (10/5): - Unique rooms with a good size single bed that was very comfy. Newly renovated bathrooms. Great service and location. Walking distance to everything.
- Nikki (10/5): Unique Little Gem - The room was perfect and cosy for what we needed. The staff was absolutely amazing and she made us feel so welcomed.
The rainforest shower head was incredible and it was so good to have full length thick towels.
We loved and appreciated the uniqueness of this place with design.
Was all round a beautiful cost comfy vibe. We will definitely stay here again
- LEONIDA (8/5): Solo travel - Short stay
- Max (10/5): - Great location and very clean
- Brett (10/5): - Staff and the property were great, thanks for making our stay, loved the room's.
- Kevin (10/5): - A fun and comfortable stay.
- Anne (2/5): - Lack of simple facilities such as no tissues, no face washers and no hooks or towel racks. And very expensive.
- Michael (10/5): - Quirky yet lovely hotel, rooms are fun and make for a relaxing stay.
Good area for dining and entertainment options.
Road parking only but it’s ok.
- John (8/5): - Close and handy to public transport. Very friendly atmosphere.
- Amy (8/5): - Easy parking and so close to show grounds.
- Colin (10/5): - Great room for over nite stay.
- Brad (10/5): - Very nice. Clean and tidy room, comfortable and well maintained. I will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Brisbane.
- Brendan (10/5): - Unique themed room - thank you for the stay.
- Vivienne (10/5): - Great overnight accomodation and location.
- Chris (10/5): - Loved the decor of the rooms, they were simple but had everything I needed. also loved how easy it was to walk to and from the entertainment precinct. Will definitely stay here again.
- Jayde (10/5): - We absolutely love staying here. It’s the only place we will stay. The service and smiles is outstanding. It’s beautiful inside and out. Again. Thankyou. You know we will be back
- Joseph (10/5): - Highly recommend Amelia Boutique Hotel if you need to stay overnight in Fortitude Valley. We had an enjoyable stay. It is walking distance to everything. It was very quite considering it is only one street back from Brunswick Street. We were impressed with the secure locked parking next door (booked directly with the hotel) was very convenient. Will definitely stay again next time we see a show in the Valley.
- Wendy (10/5): - Everything done quickly, easily, efficiently and with a smile for check in. Wonderful bed and Van Gogh queen room was comfortable and on ground floor which was requested with my mobility issues. Carpark (pay for at check in) simple and safe and the location is fantastic for Fortitude Valley especially but everywhere was closeby. Will return
- Faith (10/5): - Quirky room which was gorgeous, easy access to parking, lovely front desk lady
- Verified traveler (6/5): Alright for one night - I was disappointed by the staff who treated me quite rudely and made it very evident that I was disturbing them. I simply asked if there was a microwave to heat up some food and asked if there was a filtered water tap. There was no willingness or customer service attitude I was made to feel like an inconvenience which I didn’t appreciate. The room I stayed in didn’t allow any privacy once the blinds were open and the positioning of the air conditioner right over the bed made it very cold instantly but then hot when you turned it off. There were shower soap suds on the glass at the bottom of the shower also so better attention to detail with cleaning as well as marks and scum where the soap sits. Amelia was lovely and accommodating but the male staff member was rude.
- Robert (10/5): - Fresh clean friendly staff, quiet and convenient to the valley.
- David (8/5): - Good value for money. Very central to the main attractions of the Valley
- Henri (8/5): - Convenience
- Benton (8/5): - Had a nice combination of location , price and amenities
- Nicole (10/5): - The room styling was amazing, the decor matched well. Customer service was excellent and we will stay again.
- Philip (6/5): - Basic accomodation, not luxury boutique, expensive and very small room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible - The worst customer service I have ever received.
- Wendy (8/5): - Love the themed room. Pretty small for a delux queen room. Comfortable bed. Great shower with clean white towels. A friendly greeting at check in and easy check out.
- Steve (10/5): - Great stay as usual
- Brendan (10/5): - Great staff,great location
- JOANNE (10/5): - Lovely clean room and great friendly service.
- David (10/5): - Great place to stay for a night.
- PAUL (10/5): Great little Hotel - Great 3 nghts stay here 800m from trainstation Lovely lady at reception checked us in early with ease, bed was comfy ,shower was great and probably 10 mins wall to the mall at fortitude Valley
- Holly (10/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms and safe parking
- Daniel (6/5): - Location was great. Friendly staff.
Shower water pressure & temp control was poor
- Jo (8/5): - The room was clean and had everything that you would need.
- Emma (8/5): - Easy after hours check in, good communication and location. Room was funky and cool but the shower has not been cleaned so a bit off-putting 😔
- Aaron (10/5): - The property presents wonderfully with the alternating designs and colours. Truly amazing work to have it looking so good. Mum loved it and we will be back.
- Christopher (10/5): - I enjoyed the convenience to everything
- Mark (8/5): - Loved the stay. Only Walking distance to venues. Very convenient and just left happy.
- Blade (8/5): - Awesome room, good aircon, plenty in the bar fridge.
- Ray (6/5): - It was handy to the Fortitude Valley attractions but tucked away in a quite little street
- Kristelle (8/5): Great value - perfect if you just want a bed - Good location - plenty of eating areas around. Easy to navigate too and it did have on site parking but it also had on street parking which overnight was no charge. Wouldn’t stay here if you were chasing anything more than a bed BUT if that’s all you it is a great stay. I was here for an awards night so turned up about 430pm got ready headed to the event went to sleep and got up the next morning early to get to work so it was absolutely perfect for that
Not on a Main Street so was quiet and room seemed to be relatively soundproof too
Bed and pillows were quite comfortable and the room smelt clean
I’m not sure what was going on in Brisbane the night I stayed but this was $150 per night and anything else was a minimum of $300 and the places I would normal choose to stay were $600+ so on this occasion it was particularly great value
- Mariette (10/5): - One of a kind hotel, super central but quiet area, friendly staff
- Holly (10/5): - Very clean, very nice rooms/bathroom and friendly staff and a small walk away from diners, clubs etc.
- Kate (8/5): - The Amelia was very close to the Fortitude Valley R/wy station. I was completely exhausted by the time I checked in and was only staying o/night so didn't use what looked like a nice lounge area in reception. No noise so slept really well in very comfortable bed.
- Cameron (10/5): Mostly great. Had 3 stays. - Very modern and clean plus very comfortable. As a non smoker, it’s a shame people smoke in rooms. Rm6 smells like smoke and is a little hard to breath but otherwise a lovely room. Great staff, brilliant coffee (equal best coffee I’ve ever had in Australia).
- Symon (10/5): - The property was interestingly styled and very comfortable to stay in. The manager was excellent and helpful as well. Very nice stay and will return. Great value as well thank you
- Scott (10/5): - The owner operator’s, are very friendly and helpful, great location.
- Demetris (6/5): - Not a great experience
- Michelle (8/5): - Loved the ceiling in our room...was very unique space theme....room was cozy..
- Margot (8/5): Nice stay in Fortitude - The hotel is central and well situated 5 min walk from the train station. The room was way smaller than the pics show. View on nearby parking. Beautiful decoration. Very comfy bed. A tiny stairway to get to 1st floor. A bit overpriced to my liking...
- Trevor (8/5): - loved the room I stayed in, very unique room, comfortable, excellent bathroom.
its very cool that each room is a bit different than the others, will stay again.
the receptionist was excellent and very polite and accomodating
- Helen (8/5): - Very central. Value for money.
- Jeremy (8/5): - Staff excellent at check-in.
Room not well cleaned: dusty bedside tables.
Bathroom good. Hot water took 5 mins to come through in the morning in the shower. OK at the sink.
Food and drink amenities were good. Fridge a high standard.
- Justin (6/5): - Room was decent given the price point.
Access is restricted, with only a narrow, turning stairwell available to get to and from upstairs rooms.
Staff were largely invisible during my stay.
- Craig (10/5): Staying in town for a gig - Beautifully designed rooms. Small and cosy so perfect for a couple or a work trip.
- Ben (4/5): - Had the feel of a transit lodge, half the first night up listening to a couple having a major domestic somewhere in the building. Staff were lovely, just feels like the place needs a bit more attention, and that doesn't have to be the expensive kind.
- Jan (10/5): Cozy - Small but cozy and comfortable
- Manuel (10/5): - I loved everything about it and i will recommend it to all my friends and definitely stay there again.
- Kate (6/5): - Central position
- Kaje (10/5): - It’s a 2 star hotel so don’t expect the Hilton. Basic hotel but whilst we could stay at the Hilton we choose to stay here. It is qwerky, fun abs a great experience. The staff are lovely. This is our go to place to stay abs will continue to be. The designs in the room are magical. Would recommend to anyone.
- Isabelle (8/5): - I really liked the overall aesthetic and design inside of the rooms, that was my favourite part! The location was really convenient for where I was going and I enjoyed my time spent there.
- Michael (8/5): - A very interesting boutique hotel- some funky room designs Great quite location if you are looking to stay in the Valley
- Rick (8/5): - Convenient and nice
- Dave (8/5): - Close to where I needed to go.
- Karyn (10/5): - Great place. Friendly staff. Quirky clean rooms. Best mattress ever. Surprisingly quiet for the middle of the Valley. Loved it. Will stay again.
- shanan (10/5): - Loved the room art
- Rolf (4/5): Nicely decorated but noisy guests kept me awake. - I stayed in Room 4. It was a Single Room. Nicely decorated. Lacked somewhere to put your bag. You had a choice either the floor or a desk to put your bag on. A small rack to put the bag on would be useful. There was a note on the Shower Tap. Run the water for 2-3 minutes to get warm water. I only seemed to be able to get very hot water or freezing cold water nothing in between. The batteries on the Aircon Remote were dead. Had to keep changing them around with the TV Remote. I could only get stale warm air from the Aircon. At 10:00PM and at 3:40AM there was a group of males coming back to the hotel yelling and carrying on like idiots. I could not find any Contact details for the Hotel Management and could not get the behaviour to stop until 4:48AM. The walls seemed to be made of paper and I had to listen to their obscenities next door. The floors are made of wood and transmitted noise directly into my Room. It was a very unpleasant night. When you arrive you actually have to sign a form to say you won't have a party or be noisy. The guys next door completely ignored this. There doesn't seem to be any Management there at night time to control this kind of behaviour.
- Colin (8/5): - The different kind of themed rooms was nice. Check in was very accommodating a or circumstances changed multiple times.
- Edwin (6/5): - Unique sloping floor was interesting, along with artwork on the ceiling. Broken towel rack and uncomfortable bed that could only be accessed on on side - not good for 2 people.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was amazing, very helpful. Awesome place to stay. Will definitely be coming back
- Michelle (8/5): - Close to everything great location
Little dated
- Ellen (10/5): Definitely worth a stay. - As always Amelia was a wonderful place to stay. The room was a delight, all our requests were met with a smile and the dvd library is a nice bonus.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - I didn't like that we were given one of only 2 small rooms available .
We booked online 2 weeks before.
I didn't like that there's no walking space on one side of the bed.
Bed was very comfortable and love the sparkling lights on the ceiling.
My rating is a good star 3 which is about right for the accommodation price
- Simon (10/5): Quite good. Will be back. - Great location and rooms are actually pretty fun. We will be back.
Walls are a little thin but it is forgivable :)
- Kelly (10/5): Quirky and cool - The themed room was great. Compact but very comfortable. Selection of dvds available in the hallway. Cute cafe in foyer and close to FV eateried.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was very happy with my night's stay in the Paris room. Comfy King size bed and clean modern bathroom. Would like wifi in room to be included. Can be a bit noisy with other guests walking up and down stairs as my room right opposite stairs.
All in all a lovely surprise!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The themed rooms are a different from a moon to Japanese blossom.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Love the themed rooms and friendly staff!
- Kelly (10/5): Cool Themed Hotel - For the price and location it was amazing. It was an older building converted to a small hotel . Rooms were really cool as themed. Was clean and modern. Very secure. Would definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved everything about it
- Edward (10/5): Quirky and good value - Great quirk little place to stay close to Fortitude Valley but far enough away to enjoy. Clean rooms with quirky twists in the room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value for the money
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The unique room... Quirky and special.😁
- Catherine (6/5): Lovely property but disconcerting management! - It is a quirky property and everyone should stay once. It was clean with a newly renovated bathroom. Good split system air con which everyone needs in a Brisbane summer.
Need to know - It is across 2 levels and there is no lift. The steep stairway is so narrow it will not fit most adults with their bags side by side. Request a ground floor room if you have much luggage. The lady at reception was not friendly. The word that sums it up is 'ambivalent'. I will never understand why she upgraded me from a Single to Queen room as she certainly wasn't trying to impress ME 😂. After being given a form to fill out the usual details ie phone/email I was then given ANOTHER form to sign which told me I couldn't have guests in my room or parties (I am a middle aged woman) and many other rules including if I left my swipe key in my room and contacted them out of hours I'd be charged $100.
I went up to my room and found the air con would only work with the room key in a holder. I also wanted to enquire if there were microwave facilities as I had a meal with me. I went down to reception. At just after 2pm it was totally abandoned. I tried ringing and the woman answered. I asked her if I could have a spare key to keep my room cool while I went out for a few hours. There was a long, exasperated silence. Then, "No". I then asked about microwave facilities or if she herself could help (there is a small cafe in reception). Another long, exasperated silence! Then "No" (!) A terrible attitude.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome! Great place, great staff. Rooms are awesome and it’s very close to everything.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Unusual room decor
Unusual motel all up
Great location for the night life of Brunswick Street
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quirky set up that was novel and interesting, clean and comfortable and extremely good value.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The ceiling art was awesome, the en-suite was so clean and fresh, loved the 2 way window, bed was super comfy
- Ellen (10/5): Highly recommended - We love staying at Amelia Boutique Hotel as it is very close to surrounding area of the Valley but still very quiet for sleeping. The rooms are always clean and comfortable with a quirky touch to each one. We are always welcomed and staff are always friendly. Having off street parking available is a bonus. We highly recommend this hotel.
