- may (8/5): - It’s a good location if you’re looking for that night life. For me I was just looking for something cheap and in the middle of everything no not so far from the airport. The price is okay for what you get. My only recommendation would be for the property to invest in new towels. I did have to air dry. Staff was nice, place is clean and safe. So yeah just better towels if you can.

- Maria (10/5): - We enjoyed our short stay at The Clipper Hotel which was recommended by friends. Check in was seamless and Jena the front desk person and all around multitasker was extremely helpful, polite and friendly. All of the staff were accessible when needed. The room was huge enough to do my daily exercise routine and was cleaned thoroughly upon arrival. Bathroom was also large. I had the corner unit which included a full size frig and microwave, safe and tv (channels were all local). There are many restaurants and pubs, coffee houses, 7-11’s just a few steps away so you will not be short of dining choices. It was easy to call a Grab ride to take out outside of the Poblacion area. The cons were the shower pressure was weak although the water was hot! And it is quite noisy especially at night to be expected as this is the nightlife area. But it was okay for us. Would definitely stay there again and recommend

- Richard (4/5): - The hotel should not have been open while there was loud dusty excavating going on in front of the hotel. The construction crew would start really early in the morning and all the day through the late evening. I never could get any sleep and the noise was terrible. If I was aware of the situation I would of stayed elsewhere but I could not cancel my reservation through Agoda since I arrived on the day of the booking.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Noisy - Really nice staff and the location isn’t bad! There’s a lot of eateries and bars nearby—but the property is so incredibly noisy. I’m not talking about the hustle and bustle of steeet noise—that never bothers me. But there was really loud construction happening at ALL hours. I was awoken after midnight by an incredibly loud truck dropping gravel on the street in front of the hotel and people raked it for awhile afterwards. There was jackhammering and drilling before 8am. Terrible sleep, nice hotel. Apparently it’s been going on for 2 months, no end in sight.

There are only.about 14 rooms. Nice showers, very comfortable bed, small, service-oriented staff. Good breakfast, room service, good ADOBO! Small, but good kitchen with 24-hour room service . I had a problem with my airline, and the front desk manager kindly helped to get me a same day flight back to San Francisco! This is the place for single men or couples looking for a good room at a GREAT price.

- Brad (10/5): Great little place for 1 or a couple. - Great little Deco styled hotel with only 12 or 13 rooms. Reminded me of 1970's Tangier. Very Mediterranean Excellent desk and staff with Cristine handling the front. They helped me get a room back after missing a PAL flight. Good, cheap breakfasts and a decent Adobo. The process is right for a safe location in Makati's business district.....

- John (8/5): Budget hotel, worth the money - I enjoyed my stay at the clipper hotel, the bed was one of the most comfortable in all my trips around Asia, The breakfast was nice, but a serving of fruits eg: banana or water melon would be much appreciated, as would bottled water everyday. The only thing i didn't like was the WiFi, it was painfully slow and at times refused to connect, which is very frustrating when one is trying to move funds through the banking system. Please fix that. Everything else was good. Cheers

Everything is tastefully decorated and the staff are super helpful. The hotel is in a lively area just around the corner from tons of bars and restaurants but still feels safe and quiet itself. Definitely recommended!

- Tony (10/5): Service in Makati was excellent - I enjoyed my 4 night stay at the Clipper Hotel. The location was perfect for restaurants and nightlife. The room was big and clean, and the bed very comfortable. The only improvements I would like is to have a little better water pressure in the shower, better drink selection at the bar(no whisky at all), and open for breakfast earlier in the morning. The staff was amazing and attentive. They even arranged all travel for me at reasonable costs. I cannot think of a better place to stay in Manila for the price.

The location is good, Makati Ave is a vibrant area, but also with adult nightlife, so not for children.

Joana and Aga went out of their way to make sure i was taken care of and to watch out for me. The room could use a refrigerator but other than that was very comfortable. The property is also quiet when compared to other hotels on Burgos St. i would not hesitate to rebook for my next trip.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Looked good on paper but it was a terrible choice! - Room AC not working when I arrived late. Hotel staff finally got it working by flipping switches so I didn't trust it for the night. I asked to be moved but was told no other rooms available. I asked for a refund and they refused saying it would be fixed tomorrow but I was only there one night. I decided to goto eat allowing the room to cool down. In order to do this you have to leave your room key inside the room in a wall outlet to power the room. Power goes off when removed. I arrived back at the room around 2am. I stopped at the front desk to ask for another key but they already knew I needed one. I thought this was strange. When I got to the 3rd floor with no elevator I entered my room and found it to be 100 degrees again. The staff and entered my room when I left and removed my key to turn everything off. I was furious. I have a medical condition that doesn't allow me to be so heated. I also found they had removed my water I placed in the fridge. I had to set in a chair in front of the AC for an hour until the room cooled off. The bathroom has an open vent that can not be shut so the bathroom door has to be left shut causing the temperature in there to remain 100 degrees always. I then retired to bed. That is when I found that the queen bed I paid for was actually two twin beds pushed together. A device was used to fill in the gap so laying in the center of the bed is impossible. My girlfriend had to sleep on one side and I the other. Heard traffic noise and lady boys.
- Ray (4/5): Very noisy, WiFi awful , - This hotel is only ok if you stay for a day or two, very noisy, and the noise coming from the clubs opposite , the WiFi is very bad ,the only good thing about it the staffs are friendly.
- Fred (10/5): Good place, comfortable. - Located in a bustling area, its close to many restaurants. I liked the Kenny Rogers Roasters, which had great american style barbecue. The wifi is intermittent, but works most of the time. The staff was all very helpful. By taxi it cost about 400 pesos to the airport. Actual distance seemed like it was about 12 km. This is a good place to stay because once you're here the malls, and food are very close. Its possible to walk 15 minutes to the mall if its not too hot outside. Some of the restaurants are less than 5 minutes walk. Taxis are widely available, and cheap by U.S. standards.
- George (10/5): Off crowded path! - This older facility was remarkably spiffed up and satisfactory. It could have used better accessible outlets for charging phones. It's near busy traffic just like any place in Makati, but I always use earplugs for sleep. Hot water was plenty, wifi worked well, small cafe downstairs had coffee nearby for morning. Mattress was not best but comfy, sheets and towels were very clean. Pillow case was clean. Aircon filter had been cleaned.
- John (8/5): Excellent Hotel in Makati City - Nice little hotel just feet away from the bars and clubs of the infamous Burgos St. yet amazingly quiet for its proximity to such area. Hotel staff is friendly and courteous. Small bar inside the hotel,which also serves food (limited menu) from Monday through Saturday. Very clean room. Excellent wifi. Good location to walk to the various shopping malls and to the upscale section of Makati City with its high rise office buildings and residences. Definitely would return to this hotel.
- JOHN (8/5): Great Value Hotel in Makati - Hotel Clipper represents great value in an otherwise expensive part of Manila. The property is well maintained and well located for restaurants and bars. I travel to Manila frequently and Hotel Clipper has been my hotel of choice in more than 20 times.
- Joe (2/5): Got there and my room was not there! - Got to the Hotel and they told me they got my reservation late from Orbit and they sold my room and is sold out. So, they move me to their sister hotel down the street. I had to walk about 8 min. small room and no TV.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, close to restaurants and shops - We had a really nice stay at The Clipper hotel and we would be more than happy to stay again. Staff are helpful(even though night shift don't seem to know most of the stuff. But luckily we were able to sort out everything always next day with the day shift). Rooms are spacious and clean. Did not eat anything from the hotel bar so can't be grading it. Restaurants and bars are within a walking distance so no need to take a taxi for those. I was really positively surprised when i found out that you can pay 500 PHP for a late check out and keep your room until 6PM.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Well run hotel near the bars - Staff tried hard to make the stay a good experience. It can be a bit noisy up to about midnight due to its closeness to Burgos.
- Jim (6/5): 2.5 star budget accom - Room size is ok for the price. Bathroom is decent. A fridge in the room would come in handy. Wifi was unless in the room, as I had to stay out in the hallway to get wifi.
