- Cassie (7/5): - Beautiful rooms, good food. The shower drain was blocked. They failed to fix it or move us to a different room so it was basically impossible to shower properly for our entire stay.
- Clare (10/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): - The history and the kindness of the staff! Having to lug your luggage up the stairs. I will say that we did have help taking it up, we did no have any help bringing it down.

- martyn (10/5): - Friendly staff, a gorgeous room and excellent breakfast Nothing at all
- Thane (10/5): Loved it from start to finish. - Loved our stay. Staff were awesome, it was clean and centrally located, the historic vibe set a great mood, and the pub downstairs serves great food. We'd book again in a heartbeat. Loved it. Since its in an historic building, prepare to lug suitcases up skinny steps. There is no elevator. But that's a fairly small complaint, and staff would likely have helped if we needed their muscle.
- Alan (10/5): - Everything. Nothing.
- Heather (10/5): Wonderful!! Highly recommended - Fantastic location. Excellent service. Very comfortable bed. Terrific food. Really very happy with the whole experience. Parking was a little trick.

- Roland (10/5): Amazing nights stay at a beautiful hotel - The hotel was really lovely, our room was amazing, the food was awesome and the staff were all really lovely, they really looked after us especially Prince who helped us with our cases and throughout our stay
- TAMZIN (10/5): Excellent stay - Great stay - dedicated reception desk as you arrive and then straight up the stairs to the room. We were upgraded and had a first floor room directly overlooking the beer terrace at the front. There is secondary glazing and we weren’t bothered by noise at all despite being there on Friday and Saturday night. But then we were out until midnight and the club opposite ended its music at 1am sharp so it was fine. Earplugs are provided in the room. If you are looking for a quiet location, simply don’t stay here. We loved the decor and the amenities were all present and good quality. Breakfast was superb. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Nothing.
- Carolyn (10/5): Pleasantly surprised. - Very modern, great shower and i liked the little extras. Only 1 chair but there were 2 of us...and only 1 beer...small wine would have been better...even if tou had to pay for it.
- María Estíbaliz (10/5): -
- Abi (10/5): Fantastic stay with super friendly staff and excellent breakfast - Had a fabulous stay.
Breakfast was superb and loved the variety of plant-based options.
Lovely room.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
Excellent value for money and great location. Nothing
- Karen (9/5): - All the staff, from check in/bar/breakfast were exceptional. Service with a smile. Rooms decor and facilities were excellent. Great coffee/free water and a beer to settle in. Luxury bathroom accessories with slippers and bathrobes provided which wasn't expected in a 'pub' . Fabulous breakfast continental selection plus hot made to order choice feom an extensive menu. We would book a king room next time as the bed felt a wee bit small and we would take ear plugs as the noise from the nearby clubs went on til the early hours in the morning. We would definately stay here again if we're in Southampton.. thank you Noise from the local night club on a bank holiday Sunday.
- Finnerty (10/5): My friend and I had a wonderful stay at The White Star Tavern. The room was beautifully presented, v - Everything. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We needed a late check-out and they were very accommodating, which we really appreciated. The food was fantastic, and the service throughout was excellent, making our stay truly enjoyable.

- Paolo (10/5): The best place to enjoy the most from Southampton - The atmosphere and the vibes of the place. That I had to leave
- Leslie (10/5): - Beautiful rooms, good facilities (there was even fresh milk in the minibar!) great staff. Lovely breakfast. We were there on a Saturday night so relatively noisy until late, but rooms had Complimentary earplugs and noise was to be expected for the location so didn’t bother us.
- Colin (10/5): - Staff were superb Bedroom was great, breakfast excellent choice cooked fresh .
- helen (10/5): - Lovely accommodation good location friendly staff
- helen (10/5): Would highly recommend to anyone - Lovely location beautiful accommodation rooms are lovely
- Lloyd (9/5): A warm welcome awaits you at the lovely and conveniently located hotel - A beautifully well maintained property with helpful and friendly staff. Spacious room with a well appointed bathroom. The winning feature: fresh milk (not UHT) in the fridge. A delicious breakfast with hot items cooked to order. Although located in a pub, there was no noise. There is no elevator but our large bags were stored. Do heed their advice to pack a small bag(s) for what you require during your stay. Very convenient for the cruise terminal. The hotel had details of the berth involved; it was a short cab ride away. A shopping area with a supermarket, M&sS and pharmacies was an easy walk away. Nothing.
- Beatrice (10/5): Comfy and stylish, would return! - Lovely clean room and bathroom, stylish, comfy bed, nice touch to have supplies in the fridge. Great location and fantastic staff.
- Stuart (10/5): -
- louise (9/5): -
- Jonathan (10/5): Everything you need for a short stay and staff who go out of their way to help - The perfect place for my stay. Great price for a clean and comfortable room with a smashing breakfast included. I couldn't fault anything for my visit

- Cheryl (10/5): Perfect place to rest after my cruise - I loved everything about my stay. The room was charming, exceptionally clean with extremely comfortable bed and bedding. The staff were so kind and helpful. The location was easily walkable to good shopping and restaurants. The food was good, I very much enjoyed the breakfast and the dining staff were lovely! I wouldn't change a thing..lovely, charming hotel.
- Mark (10/5): The wonderful staff made my stay just great! - The White Star has a great location with many restaurants and a snappy night life. The building is 200 years old and beautifully maintained. The bathrooms are very modern and the rooms are large with comfortable furniture. Amazing. There is no lift. But that’s the only negative. This is a great place!
- Morag (8/5): Lovely staff and food, very accommodating - Lovely cosmopolitan street, great atmosphere Loud music till 2am
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent one night stay before a Cruise - Hotel had a great theme and the room and service standards were excellent. Right next door to bars and restaurants. Was on the fourth floor so a bit of a hike with suitcase. Will definitely stay again and just book a room on a lower floor
- Graham (10/5): - The atmosphere was great, food was great, room was spotless It was all excellent
- skyetiago (10/5): - Very good value for money
- Kayt (10/5): A must stay hotel when in Southampton, you will never be disapointed. - We loved the hotel, and it far exceeded our expectations, I don't normally make time to review but it would be criminal not to say how amazing the hotel and the staff were. The staff organised a cab for us to our destination venue and it was a fraction of the price of an Uber! We will definitely, be back. nothing it was all fab
- Sarah (10/5): - The food was to die for.
The staff and manager were really friendly and pleasant As I'm a shortass the towels were a little high up I couldn't reach them
- wayne (10/5): - Handy for near by facilities and port.
- Simon (8/5): A great place to stay, central location and suited our needs for a short stay. - A brief overnight stay. The room was very clean and decorated. Comfortable bed. Dined outside in the evening. Food good if a little pricey for 'pub grub'. Brilliant Breakfast, friendly staff. Very tight stair access from the bar but this is stated on the website. Oxford Street is a busy evening dining out area.
- Katy (10/5): - Brilliant location, breakfast was great, staff were friendly, room exceeded expectations
- Jørgen (10/5): Lovely place! - Very nice place. Location is perfect. Breakfast was very good It can be noisy outside, especially during weekend nights
- L (7/5): - Good location apart from the loud night time motorbike revving outside at 1am
- Saggys (9/5): - Staff were very accomadating, food was enjoyable. Nothing.
- Ian (8/5): Good stay in clean accommodation - Comfortable bed, very clean. Good breakfast A bit far away from town centre. Was noisy until about after 1 am.
- Emmanuel (8/5): -
- Ray (8/5): All good - Nice room, nice staff Nothing to not like, but bring back the white bait on the menu.
Location : it’s a bit noisey at weekends - other local establishments don’t know what music is. Dum dum dum base until late. Not great if you’re tired after a long journey.
- scott (10/5): -
- TIM (9/5): -
- Neha (10/5): -
- Thomas Fook Wing (10/5): Fantastic - Location, friendly staff. Excellent food. Seriously, we love it.
- Georgina (9/5): -
- paul (10/5): -
- JANE (10/5): Would recommend - Location was perfect for the event we were going to.
The hotel was well presented, lovely decor and the staff were friendly. Noise from outside bars, but not a problem with earplugs. The outside bars closed about midnight, so there was no noise after that.
- Gabriel Moise (10/5): Superb - I particularly enjoyed the interior design both in the pub and rooms - very modern and cozy. Our one night stay was totally perfect. Clean, cozy, good food, perfect location for pubs and bars, nice staff.
- Isali (9/5): Great value for your money, very nice hotel with the friendliest staff. - We really liked this hotel. The hotel was in great condition, it looked recently renovated, both the downstairs area as the hotel room. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. The breakfast was included in the price where you could both choose from the hot menu as the cold buffet. We decided to extend our stay with three days. -
- Owen (8/5): - Interesting hotel attached to a bar that served nice food and a good range of drinks. Really nice room with a spotless bathroom. Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast included and the staff were lovely. There should have been a coffee machine in the room, as stated. I mentioned it, but none was provided. A small thing, but I would have liked it.
- Michael (8/5): - Incredible breakfast, with both a buffet and an ala carte menu included.
- Michael (10/5): - Everything but the prices for food seemed a little high Food prices fir evening meal were high
- Emilie (10/5): Séjour parfait - La chambre était propre et spacieuse.
Le petit déjeuner était complet, beaucoup de choix et très qualitatif.
- paul (9/5): - Clean, modern and friendly staff.
- Relf (10/5): -
- Andrew (7/5): Very enjoyable stay - Lovely room and shower The lampshades on the bedside tables seem rather large for the size of table and take up a lot of space
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Rachel (9/5): - Hotel staff were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.
The room was large, clean and comfortable. It had everything in it that we might need - iron, hairdryer, tea and coffee and a stocked mini bar.
Breakfast the following morning was amazing. A good selection of pastries, fruit, cereal plus a great hit food menu cooked to order. There wasn't anything I didn't like.
- Martin (10/5): We were expecting an average hotel next to the cruise terminal and were surprised to find an ace. - We thought they had worked hard to provided quality, both in the physical aspects, for example the china in the room and items in the welcome pack and in the service levels. Everyone was very accommodating and helpful. We did not find anything not to like.
- Troy (9/5): Really enjoyable stay at the White star, will definitely be returning. - Wonderful staff, friendly atmosphere and superb food. I particularly liked the lounge halfway up the staircase in the accommodation block, best hotel in Southampton we’ve found so far.. Nothing
- Keiron (9/5): Staff couldn’t do enough. Spotless and comfy room. Great bathroom. - Staff were great. Nice pub. Great breakfast and service
- Stewart (10/5): Highly recommend - The hole experience ,staff awesome.
Food spectacular.
Rooms spotless Nothing
- Darren (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at the White Star Tavern from the moment we arrived. The welcome was warm and we were shown straight to our room, which was beautifully laid out with excellent facilities. A really nice touch was the complimentary mini bar items, something you rarely see these days and it didn’t go unnoticed. The bar itself is always a great spot (we’ve enjoyed drinks there before), but staying overnight added a whole new level to the experience. Breakfast in the morning offered a great selection, and more importantly, the quality was absolutely top-notch. Overall, a brilliant stay and one we’d happily repeat. 2 complimentary beers in the minibar! :-)
- Carl and Juliet (9/5): Great location and staff! - Really central and staff were lovely! :)
- Charlotte (10/5): Couldn’t have asked for more - Staff were going excellent
- Jock (10/5): -
