- James (9/5): Suited us very well. Just what we needed. - Nice owners and good food. Excellent location.

- RobinsC9 (10/5): Reasonably priced and clean - An overnight stay, which was close to Oxford. Easy to find in a small village and a friendly face to greet us. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Looks like the bedroom had recently been renovated, it was very clean and bright. Comfortable bed and there was an iron, ironing board and a hairdryer. Perfect! The pub serves authentic indian food in the evening which looked very nice. reasonably priced too. However, we had already eaten when we arrived at the hotel.
We really enjoyed the cooked full English breakfast in the morning.
There is a bus stop at the top of the road to take you into Oxford. Close enough to Blenheim Palace if you are driving.
We would recommend and will be returning.
- Stephen (8/5): Very comfortable, nice quiet location and pet friendly. - Friendly welcome for me and my pet.
Easy access and very pretty location.
Comfortable room. Breakfast wasn't served until 8am so I couldn't sample it.

- Philip (1/5): -
- Kevin (7/5): Quiet location set in peaceful Oxfordshire village. Friendly staff. Quiet room with all basic facilities there. - Ideal location for our stop over for Witney.
Peaceful and quiet. Limited on the ale selection for drinks
- Simon (8/5): A pleasant stay, and very convenient for Oxford. Excellent value Park ad ride a few minutes away. - Warm welcome. Breakfast was good. Room was spacious with plenty of cupboard hanging space, large bed. Good to be able to have an evening meal on site. Plenty of free parking on site.

- Aaron (1/5): Really bad - Location was brilliant The cleanses of the the room dust everywhere, the food was awful the bed linen was changed but still had stains on it mould in the bathroom from the shower leaking to outside skirting boards, she was very relaxed towards her attitudes about everything took my partners dog which was a another £20 she was well behaved although she was crated we couldn't understand why the stains were on our duvet and and mattress cover dust everywhere 2 different check out time, booking. com said 11 she said in the hotel book 10am the stay was not good the food was served on ex prison trays and highly over priced!!!!!! As it was a Hot weekend got the fan out which blew dust everywhere after we had both showered i have pictures of them all
- Eileen (9/5): Excellent stay in an old but very well run pub - It is a very tired old country pub which is slowly being brought back to life by a very hard working lady called Santok she alone made our stay excellent and helped in every way she could …
We stayed x3 nights and ate her delicious homemade Indian cuisine the first night and wish we could have eaten there another of our nights but we had bookings in Oxford already made .. absolutely nothing was too much trouble for her at all
So so friendly and helpful
Thanks so much Santok Not that we didn’t like it at all but the carpets, corridor painting and bathroom tiles needs attention
I’m certain it will all be up dated in time
- Christopher (8/5): Would stay again handy for Oxford - Good value, friendly staff Some of the renovations could gave been better done
- josh (8/5): - Owner was lovely and very hospitable. She was delightful. Food was incredible and fresh. Lovely quiet village and no bother anywhere Got exactly what I paid for, no complaints

- Nick (7/5): A friendly place to stay, in a good location with many improvements in progress. - Location of the property in relation to Oxford very good and there was plenty of off-street parking. The food was good and well presented. The owners were really friendly and helpful. The bar / restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. We had a room that hadn’t yet been refurbished - those that they have done are really nice. However the bed was exceptionally comfortable.

- Alessandro (7/5): Mah!
Insomma, senza infamia e senza lode.
- Anthony (5/5): - Quite near to Oxford. Reasonable value. Clean comfortable bed. Perfectly good breakfast. Out of 2 rooms we had, 1 shower was unusable (water scalding hot regardless of control position). Rooms fairly tired, old fixtures and decor - but mainly adequate and usable.
- Elisabeth (5/5): -
- jason (10/5): - Nice hotel with good food
- David (6/5): Very pleasant and comfortable but a few additions to the experience would make a huge difference. - The room was lovely and comfortable. Bathroom was missing shower curtain so everything got wet! Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was not as expected. No menu showing what was on offer. Tea or coffee offered - no sign of any alternative e.g. fruit juice. Full breakfast provided was fine but on second morning cereal was mentioned but it wasn't clear whether this was extra to crooked breakfast or instead of? Expected to find fruit juice available and cereal to self serve while cooking breakfast meal. Just very confusing and a little extra would make huge difference. Also very little information in the bedroom folder. Considering there was a restaurant, the menu might encourage people to book table and eat at the hotel.
- Kelle (5/5): Chequers inn - Food nice in evening . You can take dogs . No children's menu the only option was nuggets for kids . This cost £10 for reformed nuggets peas and chips . Nothing else included.

Room was clean comfortable and quiet. Parking secure and private.
- Robert (4/5): Overall a poor experience. - Location was fine. Breakfast was small, greasy and tasteless (poor quality ingredients). Bedroom was not clean and the toilet especially was not clean. Taps didn’t work normally and were loose.
- Edge (10/5): Comfort near The Cotswolds. - Lovely traditional Pub in a quiet village close to Oxford & The Cotswolds, providing a good breakfast with exceptional hosts. Nothing at all.

- Ronald (7/5): Fine for a night - Nice rural location Shower mildew and grime
- PAUL (1/5): Disappointing - Food was hot, check out time relaxed at 11am, car parking Arrival greeting poor, staff eating with customers, had to ask for basic things such as toilet paper, bath towels, turn on heating in dining area.
Breakfast poor- no fruit juice, no real coffee, basic cereal,
Noisy above room
- Sikkoms (4/5): - Lokatie Kamer, kraan werkt niet goed tv werkt niet
Wifi werkte niet op bovenste verdieping
Ontbijt niet om over naar huis te schrijven essentiële ingrediënten waren niet aanwezig

- Melissa (8/5): - Lovely little pub in a beautiful location. Owners were very friendly and breakfast was lovely. We would definitely come back. Only thing for me was the bed was a little creaky.
- Pete (10/5): We were made to feel very welcome. Great food as well - Great location and wonderful hosts. Nothing, it was great.
- Karsten (4/5): Very average. Better places nearby for similar price range - Near to where I needed to go the next day Needs a refresh and improvement.
Shower - couldn’t mix the temperature. Scolding hot water only
TV in room - remote not working. Dead batteries
Extractor fan in bathroom - not working
Facilities in the room very basic.
Bed was ok

- Whitton (9/5): - Comfy bed great food
- Marc (10/5): -
- kristopher (10/5): - Babu was an excellent host very accomadating, food was decent very nice stay
- Seal (6/5): Not bad, considering the price it could have been better. - Nice property, bit of a shock to find its Indian cuisine which isn't an issue. It was dated. Mattress has seen a good few nights and I could hear chatter in the bar clearly from the room
- Paul (7/5): -
- Marc (10/5): We’ve stayed here before so it’s known to us. Babu is your congenial host (who loves a natter especially on cricket and - Location, staff, friendly welcome Nothing TBH
- Nicholas (7/5): - Food good and hole some the room meet our needs .Owners very welcoming Nothing
- Kerra (8/5): -
- Seth (2/5): If you are desperate and need a place to sleep, this will fit the bill. If you have options, move on - We only stayed there because it was the only available B&B that had two beds in the area. The carpets were filthy. The bathroom was so small that we could barely shower. Ceiling was so sloped that we hit our heads. The breakfast and dinners were very poor. I spit out the sausage in the morning because it was mushy and cold. Also had no taste, which was suspect. No real coffee. Only offered instant coffee to mix in hot water. For the price, we expected modern conveniences to some extent. It felt like it was stuck in the 1950s. They need to invest in the property. It’s a nice property with tons of potential, just in poor shape and not well maintained.

- jenette (9/5): A nice get away - Lovely hosts very welcoming. Everything was good
- Mary (8/5): lovely place friendly staff lovely pub/hotel - it was a lovely place and the couple were friendly who were covering the place. the tea bags were not replenished on our second day and nor was the toilet rolls - a lovely building but was dead no one in hardly the room was lovely but we stayed 2 nights and the second morning there was tea bag’s they ran out and not restocked in the room
- Sarah (10/5): - Location & friendliness of staff
- David (5/5): Nuch better around. - Ideal location and plenty of parking. Breakfast choice was poor. I was only offered cereal or cooked. Cooked ready in 3 minutes and was minimal. Also seemed microwaved.
Room was very dated.
Staff did nothing but moan about the problems they faced.
- Millie (8/5): -
- Jane (5/5): -
- keith (7/5): - Three of us could stay together.
Quiet Breakfast tasty and cooked fresh, but the evening mea wasl very disappointing.
It all looked and tasted like it came from packets rather than home cooked
- Dudley (7/5): -
- Andy (4/5): -
- Osborne (8/5): - Friendly staff, good location Climbing 2 flights of stairs
- Jo (8/5): Lovely cosy pub/hotel - It was a lovely old pub.
We was met with a lovely welcome from the guy that was running the place, sorry i have forgotten his name.
He was basically doing everything but always so friendly and with a smile, fair play to him.
The room was comfy it could do with a bit of a touch up in the bathroom but everything worked and we had a good nights sleep.
We ate there at the evening and the burgers were lovely.
Thanks for your lovely hospitality. Bathroom could do with being revamped but nothing really much to.complain about
- Neil Theodor (10/5): For short stays it was wonderful. - The lounge sofas and atmosphere Nothing
- Debbie (6/5): Not worth the fee - Parking Staff were not overly welcoming. Before saying hello they stated we need extra for the dog. Which I expected but they did not say hello or welcome just pay for dog.
Never checked in again after I complained about excessive noise from extractor fan in kitchen below my room.
Room very small due to added shower unit and felt very cramped in a small space.
Cobwebs and broken window handle don’t did not fully shut.
- Clare (3/5): - No shower or shower hose over bath. Room small
- Paul (8/5): Great location with good food - Bar area was great. Breakfast and dinner were lovely (although dinner a little expensive for pub grub). Comfy bed and great shower Room was quite tired and needs updating.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Jo Sweeney Hughes (8/5): Good location - Good location in the centre of the village, close to Oxford and The Cotswolds.
Pub does food, but we didnt eat there.
Quiet location.
Nice pub.
Comfy bed.
Good price. Room was very small, not much room round the bed, but had everthing you would need in a hotel room.
- Maria (8/5): -
- Emma (8/5): -
- David (9/5): - Friendly and helpful staff
- Michael (7/5): - Seht altes Gebäude, dementsprechend auch der Standard, aber ein altes, uriges Hotel. Frühstück war sehr lecker Heizung ging nicht. Durch einglasige Fenster war es dementsprechend kalt (Ende November)
- Caroline (6/5): - The staff were friendly The duvets have been washed and 4 corners of the duvet were rock hard. The Breakfast was poor all cheap ingredients and no vegetarian option .
- Denise (4/5): - Location , building, friendliness of owners . Here's a polished version that keeps your honest feedback clear while flowing smoothly:
"Starting with breakfast: it was just mediocre, and there was no self-service. I would have loved to be able to get up for an extra cup of tea or juice without having to ask – I felt a bit awkward about requesting more.
The real letdown was the evening meal, though. I’d been looking forward to traditional Indian food with fresh cumin, garlic, ginger, and coriander, but it tasted more like a ready meal. There were a couple of very dry patties, chopped-up poppadom, and just average mango chutney. For £17, I expected so much better.
That said, the staff are absolutely lovely – so attentive and willing to help with anything. They’re a real strength, and I think if the place invested in a chef who could work with those fresh, authentic ingredients I mentioned, it would become a proper asset.
As for the rooms: they’re small but comfortable and practical. Don’t come expecting luxury – I’ll admit I’d hoped for a bit more of that, given the beautiful building and location."
- Sav53 (6/5): - It had a bar The floors creaked very loudly, the bed was awful.
- Sally (7/5): Chequers short break - Great location, comfortable room. Room cold on arrival, only 2 sheets of toilet roll. Breakfast very limited choice and poor quality.
- Keith (7/5): Midweek stop over - Warm friendly atmosphere, welcoming hosts ,good food and Football available on the TV. Room although clean and tidy are showing signs off wear
