- sachinp1992 (8/5): Nice hotel in a good location - Stayed here for a night before flying back to Reykjavík after a trip to see the arctic foxes.
Hotel is well located in the town, you have plenty of options for food nearby as well as the supermarket
- S Patel (8/5): Great place to stay with everything nearby - Great location and walking distance to several places to eat and drink in the town. Nothing that I didn't like about the property.

- Melanie (8/5): Beautiful town, great location! Staff was very welcoming and helpful! - Fantastic location. Right in the center of Isafjordur. Restaurant and included breakfast were also fantastic! I knew from reviews ahead of time that all things were run through its sister hotel about a block away. Just wish it had been stated in the booking info!
- Łukasz (10/5): Było wspaniale zwiedzić Isafjordur , piękne miasteczko i kolorowe . Byliśmyzachwyceni -
- TREVOR (8/5): - Once I found the check in location, everything went smoothly. Horn is close to everything in town. Spacious room, generous breakfast.
- Wilson (10/5): - Very comfortable hotel in the middle of town. Will definitely stay again.
- Andri Mogensen (2/5): - The location was very convenient, with easy access to nearby services and attractions. Staff were polite and helpful, contributing positively to the overall experience. Breakfast was good, with a decent selection and quality that met expectations. The room was very uninviting. There was a bad smell—almost like mold. The shower head was coming loose from the wall. The lighting in the room was cold and made the space feel even more unpleasant. I would describe it more like a medium-quality hostel than a hotel. Given the high price, we expected more. However, we had no choice but to stay, as we were traveling with our child for a sports tournament and everything in the area was fully booked.
- Anna (10/5): - Friendly staff, great view, hotel room came with breakfast, food was great. Love this town.
- Daniela (8/5): -
- Katrín (10/5): frábær - kem aftur og aftur á Hótel Ísafjörð af því mér vill líða vel í vinnutörninni.
- Svandís (9/5): - Skrýtið að vera með hraðsuðuketil með svo stutta snúru að hún nær ekki í rafmagnið. Vantar framlengingarsnúru.
- Anton (8/5): -
- John (8/5): -
- Scott (8/5): - Some confusion with there being three hotels in the hotel chain nearby and having to check in at one location but stay at another.
- 曾 (8/5): - 早餐很棒 電梯要一直按著,才能啟動,然後又不知道要按到什麼程度,搭電梯時有點怕怕的
- Colin (4/5): Clean but Too Noisy to Sleep - Pros:
- Clean, minimal room
- Breakfast (served at Hótel Ísafjörður) was very good
Cons:
- No cooling system, so in summer you need the window open, which makes the street noise (often past 2am) very loud.
- Blackout shades don’t block much light, and with a streetlight outside the window, our room stayed bright.
- No reception on-site; check-in and assistance are handled at Hótel Ísafjörður around the corner
Overall:
We would recommend staying at Hótel Ísafjörður instead.

- Laurence (9/5): Agreable - Belle superficie. Hauteur de plafond. Propre.
- Ragnheiður (8/5): Very good -
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb - Great room in a central location.
Bathroom was good.
Needed to open windows for ventilation - this was easy to do in mid summer.
A short walk from check-in and breakfast - this was made clear through booking process and no problem.
Breakfast was great. Parked (for free) at the local supermarket as nothing available onsite.
- Kayla (9/5): Great, cozy place to stay after a long drive - We had a pretty cool view and the room was very clean and comfortable. We did not have access to ice or a fridge, so we ended up buying a bag of ice at the Kronan grocery store. All around, the room was excellent, clean, and comfortable. Staff was also very helpful, especially with the slightly different check-in process. The staff immediately admitted that they know this is a problem, so I certainly don’t felt them. To stay at the Horn Hotel, you have to check into their main hotel just a minute away. But the name they tell you to look for is not actually written anywhere, so There was a lot of confusion as to where I actually had to check in. Once we got checked in, all was mostly smooth. They didn’t have enough parking, so I just parked at the grocery store around the corner, and the elevator is certainly unconventional. It’s very loud and rickety and you have to hold the button in the entire time you were going up. Not a major issue, just a surprise I wasn’t expecting.
- Gudrún (7/5): Good - Breakfast was fine
- Rosaria (6/5): Pleasant -
- Amy (3/5): More like a hostel then hotel - Breakfast, location Felt like a hostel, no blackout curtains, had to walk 2blocks to different hotel to register and eat breakfast
- anthony (2/5): - Hot, no aircon, no windows and A TV that didn't work and they we not interested in fixing it.Very old fashion , no charm. location fine ,very expensive for what you received.
- Birgit (9/5): Nice clean hotel - Nice room with comfortable beds. Great private bath. The breakfast was outstanding. The only small downside was that we had to walk over to the main hotel for checkin, checkout and breakfast but it was a very short walk
- Gissur (9/5): Superb -
- Celia (7/5): Convenient with early breakfast for next day expedition - Good location for trekking the next day. Early breakfast needed so this was ideal. Room small, barely space around the bed. Good sized bathroom. The photos make the communal spaces look pristine but they were a bit shabby, but to be fair we didn’t use them. Served a purpose to be close and fed for an early expedition start next morning Not really much character but served a purpose
- Lisa (8/5): - The hotel room we had was quite small. We had a queen and twin bunk beds. Not much extra space to move around. What helped a lot was the shared living area on our floor for units to share. There was a table and chairs that we used to eat dinner and play games. The included breakfast was excellent! It is in the main hotel but it is so close by.
- Sandra (10/5): - Great place. Check in was a bit confusing but staff were helpful as there are actually two properties. Loved our stay, fantastic location
- Kaustubh (8/5): Valuable yet costly - The room was spacious enough to host my family, and its arrangement was pleasant. Having a kitchen is clearly beneficial as it allows us to prepare our own meals instead of relying on external sources.
Having a personal microwave in the room would have been preferable.
- Sutharsan (10/5): - All went well, will book again
- Robert (5/5): Okay Hotel nothing great -
- Donald (8/5): Very good - Great location in the town centre. Spacious room, comfortable bed. The Horn lobby is a bit shabby and gives a poor initial impression of the hotel.
- Ari (6/5): Pleasant -
- Michelle (8/5): A night in Isafjordur - This is a good tourist class hotel, clean and warm, good bed, good bathroom and secure. No issue here at all, reception and breakfast are across the road which isn't ideal but other than that it's fine. The snow in the morning was a nice touch!
- Marcin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dr. (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefancilia (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (10/5): Great place to stay, very friendly and helpful reception staff, good food but a bit pricey - Reception staff were great Food prices were high
- Hanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ægir (8/5): Very good -
- Galit (9/5): Superb - Good location
We had 2 rooms ,the room for 4 was a little small
Not much of a view
The breakfast was excellent The check in and the breakfast was in a different hotel which was not comfortable
- Berkley (8/5): - Good place to stay
- Prash (7/5): Good - Center of town. easy walking distance. clean comfortable room. circular stairs difficult to navigate with luggage.
- Stephen (10/5): Nice accommodations in a great location - Great breakfast selections, location very handy for wandering around the harbor area.
- Curt (7/5): Good Location - bit overpriced. - Breakfast was held at a sister property requiring us to walk a block. The food was excellent. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The location was excellent. The Horn itself is a bit rough around the edges - but has possibilities. For the value it was a bit overpriced.
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): - A great place in the center of town! Very walkable to anywhere in the city. The room was comfortable and we loved the large windows and the breakfast was amazing!
- Holly (6/5): - Had a good stay. Checking in and parking was a bit of a hassle not being the same building but other than that had a great experience
- Joan (8/5): Very good - Setting, storage, breakfast
- Per (2/5): Very poor - Very basic room at exuberant price. Incorrect and confusing instructions in email communication. Staff unable to own up to or apologize for the obviously incorrect and confusing instructions in the email communication.
- VivianC972015 (4/5): Beware. The Hótel Ísafjörður-Horn is the step- child hotel of the Hótel Ísafjörður. - My cell phone does not work outside the USA. This hotel was booked by a travel agent and arrived in the evening on a rainy day. I finally noticed the last line of the confirmation that I had to check in at the other hotel 1 ½ blocks away or 3 blocks r/t. Went and got the code to enter the building and the key to the room only to discover no towels, so I had to walk the same 3 blocks r/t in the rain again as the room had NO PHONE only to be handed a package of towels to carry back with me - I would hate to think what I would have been handed if the room needed to be cleaned. There was no personnel sitting in the small lobby of the step-child nor was there a phone there to call the front desk of the other hotel or in case of an emergency. Totally unacceptable. And this step-child had the weirdest nosiest elevator – an open plate that you stood on with a handrail at waist level. Ate breakfast at the real hotel which was good and that hotel seemed nice, but I would not stay at this step-child again.
- Magnus (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bret (8/5): I would stay here again. - Nice hotel in a good location. Had to walk to another hotel for the breakfast
- Nimrod (8/5): Very good -
- Ellen (4/5): - Not friendly at check in. Ignored me. No details on wi fi. Told us you can’t have dinner here,née are full but no other recommendations for near by.
Room clean, quiet. Breakfast was excellent.
- Martha (8/5): - The Hotel Horn was convenient to downtown, and we had a nice, spacious room, which was greatly appreciated after a few of the smaller rooms we'd been in. The room was clean, and quiet at the time we were there. We had an excellent view from our room. It is somewhat confusing that the check-in is at a different building that's a block away. That hotel was hard to access because there was some construction in the area. Not a big deal but at the end of a long day's drive it was a downer to have to figure that one out. It might be useful to have an instruction sign at the Horn property giving details about check-in. We were on the third floor at were sort of amused and wary of the lift - rather old-school. But it worked and we had a good, if too short, stay in the lovely town. The location is good, as it is an easy walk to either the harbor area, or some of the newer parts of the town.
- Liping (8/5): - Location is nice, breakfast is great, service staff is friendly, but different building is inconvenient
- Edson (8/5): - Check in and breakfast down the block at sister facility. Room is somewhat dorm like and small. But overall decent particularly for Isafjordur...not many choices.
- Joyce (6/5): Pleasant -
- See (6/5): Very good location. Near to Netto and lots of amenities nearby. - The hotel is not well serviced since the management staff is in another building. The entrance area is not clean and not properly maintained as if it is some cheap hostel. The room itself is good and adequate. Breakfast is very good. Spruce up the Horn Hotel entry area.
- Elisabet (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Decent stay - Good location in town. Room was clean and comfortable Checkin as well as breakfast was in a different hotel so that was inconvenient. Parking was limited.
- Anna (4/5): Disappointing - The location The cleaning and the comforting feeling
- Richard (10/5): Great location and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - Location was excellent. Some features a little dated
- Erla (7/5): Good -
- jean (10/5): - Nice place, a lot of stairs, no staff on premises.
- Kristjan (7/5): Good -
- Kenneth (5/5): Crap, no return to the place! - Not much, felt like a student dormitory No reception at the hotel, check-in at nearby hotel. No restaurant at the hotel for dinner and breakfast. The whole place felt dead, no desire to stay at the hotel for any other reason than sleeping.
- Marilyn (10/5): Comfy room in a great location - Comfortable room. Nice bathroom. Great location.
- Ellen (7/5): Good - The location was excellent The "family" room was very small - not enough space for 4 people and their luggage . Very overpriced for the quality and size of the room.
- Mogens (6/5): Felt like a 2 star hotel for a 4 star price. - Nice beds; quiet room. Over priced.
Room itself was ok but somewhat dated and tired. Bath room needs some attention for shower including its drain to work properly. Area outside room was rather "rustic".
Since the reception was in another building access to our building was via a key code. Result: Next morning a fully dressed man who apparently had entered form the street was sleeping on a sofa in the common area. Not a safe feeling.
- Ensieh (10/5): We really enjoyed the hotel. Breakfast was absolutely amazing - Cleanliness. Breakfast. Room. Elevator requires holding the button all the time till it reaches the intended floor 😀
