Guest Reviews

- MARION (8/5): Super !
- Jo (8/5): Overall a nice stay with a short walk to Pub street for eateries - Facilities were good with great pool area. Large bed and comfortable room
Ordered dinner through Sam So menu on first night which came very quickly This was outsourced from local restaurant
The food was great that evening and morning had a good generous breakfast too
The staff were so friendly and helpful.
They organised a trip for us to Angkor Wat by tuk tuk with Me T - he could not have been more helpful as well Due to high humidity in Siem Reap, there was a little mould on shower area
- Frenchfirebird (9/5): - Posizione tranquilla, staff simpatico e disponibilissimo, piscina!
- Deepak (2/5): - Due to condition of hotel we didn't stay. As soon as we went in room we found no Air condition, bugs were flying all over and no elevator. Owner was very rude and she refused to refund us. Immediately we left and moved in to different hotel. I urge Expedia to refund us.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb - Good quiet location on a quiet street, but only a few mins walk to lots of restaurants.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, arranging tuk tuks, taxis, etc.
Pool area was very nice. Could have been a little cleaner - bathroom had lots of cobwebs and dust
- Kanaka (10/5): - Sam So Villa was a cozy clean place. The staff were very friendly and nice people. They were very attentive to the guests needs and was very hospitable. This place was very close to the old market and the night market.
Shopping and restaurants was walkable distance. Keep up the good work Devi, Mr.T and other staff.
Definitely I would recommend this place.
- Surendra (8/5): Met my expectations, good value for money, staff always ready to help - Excellent manager and staff, especially Ti. Helpful in collating and providing local information and arranging booking for local tours. The toilet door was not shutting properly
- David (10/5): - Staff very friendly, helpful
- Serena (10/5): - The reception by owner and staff was very good. The place is hidden among local houses which was a surprise and not among other hotels. People were friendly. The vote is nice in appearance. Some updates on amenities and fixing of older things would help.
- Joseph (6/5): - I didnt get housekeeping the first day. The second day they didn't come. Day three i asked and they made my bed. No towels, no garbage pick up, no water or coffee left.
I went down to ask for towels and garbage pick up but they didn't understand.
I brought my own garbage down one day and had to get toilet paper another.
- Guillermo (10/5): - The staff here was so kind! They helped with everything from tours, laundry, and booking transportation. There is the option to rent scooters, gas and electric, for day use. About the rooms, are spacious and kept clean. I would recommend staying here to anyone!
- Shawn (10/5): - Tai Vie and here staff were great. Helped us with activities to do. Went above and beyond when helping us doing a day trip to the Waterfalls and then transferring to the airport for an evening flight.
Location is a down a small road but safe area.
Not too far from Pub Street.
Very quiet location.
Breakfast was very simple but okay.
Excellent for the Price.
- Lana (10/5): - It was our first time in Siem Reap. It took an hour , by Grab taxi, to get to the hotel. Like all the others. We just forgot the hotel management could arrange transportation to and from the hotel.
Our expectation was not so high regarding the place. We were, however, blown away by the kindness and service provided by each employee, Mr. T was always at his feet making sure we were comfortable. The owner, was welcoming and ready to help. She even took time to bid us farewell. The room was so clean, amenities provided. Bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was quite generous and excellent
They always served mango and dragon fruit after each heavy meal.
Shuttle service provided to the airport was fair.
The owner even offered us a variety of excursions that were reasonably priced with pick up at the hotel. We booked even the night before the tour.
Our departure flight was at night. The owner allowed us to check out as late as 12 noon and leave our luggages while we strolled the city and watched the yearly boat parade. When we arrived at the hotel we were offered cold bottle water which we weren’t charged for. We didn’t even ask for it. We left at 5 pm satisfied and thankful for such a memorable trip.
- Eugene (10/5): - This is a great property. Its nothing special no a 5 star but the people are so awesome and friendly. They want to help
- Christina (10/5): Excellent - Excellent facilities, very friendly staff, good location.
- Ngor (2/5): Very poor -
- Jorge (5/5): Passable -
- Kacper (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay at the hotel! Highly recommended for short visit in Siĕm Reap. - Very clean, good location, calm surroundings, cool swimming pool, welcoming atmosphere!
- Tejas (10/5): Exceptional - Very helpful staff. Lovely views of the sunset.
They helped with every request we made.
- Luca (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (7/5): Good - cost and quality of the room location a little far from pub street but full of tuk tuks. Would I return here I honestly don't know. I took transport to the airport both on the way there and back, always with the hotel. the outward journey was discreet and with air conditioning. on the way back a dilapidated vehicle with a broken bed and even a broken front window, not even air conditioning. for 35 dollars per transfer I think it is unacceptable
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast simple but good staff were outstanding room large and very clean location in an up and coming part of town with lots of bistro bars and cafes excellent value for money will be going back It was located down a dark unlit lane with a lot of potholes but not a serious problem
- Craig (5/5): Passable -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Visser (10/5): Absolutely loved it! - I liked everything. The pool was amazing, and the rooms were perfect. It was also very quiet and I thoroughly enjoyed the silence there. The staff were all super friendly and respectful. I loved staying there! There were nothing that I did not like.
- Maria-eleni (8/5): Good option for remote workers! - The room was brilliant! The WiFi was great! I am working online teaching so I had no issues with the video calls! The area was a bit hard to get to due to the road (it was flooded) but the Tuk Tuk made it there!
- Sigrid (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable - Enjoyable and relaxing stay. The staff were excellent, friendly and charming. I met Sam So and his wife and they were an absolute delight! Highly recommend.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (10/5): Lovely place off main road - Great location friendly staff.
- Laura (10/5): we had a good stay and we would come back definitely - very good stay, nice place, quiet and clean very nice staff, always available at any time and helpful!
- Cindy (10/5): Just perfect! - Amazing! Quiet location, very nice room with everything you need. Warm & Welcoming owners and staff. They help you with everything they can for reasonable prices. We would definitely recommend! Just perfect! The continental breakfast is ok but we would rather like a local breakfast but that is our preference.
- Mathew (9/5): Nice - - I enjoyed my stay here
- Although down a dirt road it is located in a nice area of Siem Reap
- Room was lovely, had a free upgrade as well
- Room was big
- Shower was good - Located down a dirt road, which wasn’t the most fun going down each day
- Pool looked a little dirty on the last day so I didn’t use it
- Daily make up of the room is just making the beds and is not a clean
- Msejg (8/5): Great place to stay in Wat Bo - Very helpful & friendly staff
- Panp (8/5): Very good - Staff was great.
Room size was nice. Breakfast was pretty basic.
The fridge had not been turned on for a while and smelled bad when we opened the door. Had to disinfect it before using it.
- Tom (9/5): Good value - Great place, nice pool and good location Nothing really
- Candice (10/5): - Sam so boutique is extremely convenient and peaceful. The owners are lovely and would share with you the best contacts to have a wonderful journey in Angkor and Siem Reap. If you are looking for a place owned by Cambodian people, who truly love their community, it’s the place.
- Matt (8/5): good overall, but with basic amenities and distance from town, I’d choose another place next time - Clean, comfortable, nice pool, staff were friendly a bit far from town. badly-lit, sketchy alleys with aggressive dogs (although they don’t bite), make for a unpleasant walk at night
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - We were really happy with our choice 🤗
Rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. The staff will make up bed every day and tou get new coffee and water. Fridge, water cooker, and everything else clean and ready to be used.
We booked a 2 day Angkor Wat tour with them (meaning: they provided us with a good driver, drinks, lunch packages the first day when we got up at 4h and an awesome itinerary recommendation...it was just perfect 🥰).
Staff is friendly and helpful....anything you need (also did our laundry via them - prefect).
They speak very good English and German,Italian and a little bit French as well (at least some of them do).
We highly recommend 👌🏼 Not a single thing to complain about. 😌
- Siddharth (7/5): Good - dont have enough staff and dont have intercom
- Yiannis (10/5): Exceptional - We had a very pleasant stay. Great location, quiet room and very helpful people. Internet was a bit unreliable for demanding working needs, but overall ok, I managed to do some work.
- Gabriele (10/5): We loved the place, would go again. - Great location, perfect wifi, staff super helpful and pleasant.
- Alexandre (10/5): Perfect, amazing family and hotel. Will be back next time I’m in Cambodia! - we’ve been traveling Asia extensively and this has to be the best place we’ve stayed at. the owners and staff look after you as if you were part of their family. I’ve never experienced such atmosphere in all my travels. Hotel is extremely clean, swimming pool is lovely, and if you need anything, the staff will get it for you straight away.
Mr Sam so also speaks German Italian and French which is impressive in its own right already!!! he has to be one of the most altruistic person I’ve met in my travels and a very humble human being. he’s also an official tour guide and I’ve never met someone so passionate about his country history. i can guarantee you’ll have the best experience with him as your tour guide. I would recommend messaging the property when you’re booking the room to check if he’s available. Covid has been very hard on tourism and it’s a great feeling to be able to help families with us being back touring their beautiful country. would stay again 100% and can guarantee this will be an amazing experience for whoever stays here! Nothing, best hotel experience I’ve had in all my travels in Asia. Recommend 1000%
- Isabel (9/5): A must go ! - It is so tranquil, out of the touristic crowds.
Nice swimming pool. For sure out of the beaten track. A must go !
- Nikita (7/5): lovely staff & hotel - the staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the pool was nice the room wasn’t very clean and the bathroom wasn’t cleaned at all during our stay (although we did ask). it is also on a back alley road
- Matthew (9/5): friendly staff, great value stay - friendly staff, very helpful—nice balcony & spacious room. alleyway off a tarmac road
- Verified traveler (8/5): hotel - Excellent hospitality- staff are super friendly and go out of their way to help you. They arranged for a airport transfer and transportation during our stay. The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street but only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Cute pool, but very cold!! Hotel could use a bit of freshening up but overall good value for price and location/staff can’t be beat!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Small so you have"personal" service. All staff and the owner of the property are great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect stay and perfect price! - Fanstastic hotel! Owners and staff went out of the way to help with trips, special arrangements, transfers, etc. The room was larger, beautiful and an unbelievable price for the quality and location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great time, the staff and the owner were super nice and helpful, we loved the swimming pool and patio, the room was great and really clean and it’s close to everything while being quiet!
- Skye (10/5): Great stay - We loved our stay here! Although it is a little difficult to find (our taxi dropped us off in the wrong hotel) once you navigate the small back roads to find it it is very charming. Service was excellent and the room was charming. The shower was particularly memorable with gorgeous landscaping. It is an easy 5-10 minute walk from everything but away from the noise in a more local setting. Be prepared for children to high five you as you walk past the local school next door and to wake up to roasters roasting in the morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel itself is good, a bit dusty but acceptable because over there is very dusty so it couldn’t be possible to clean very clean! They have one way pick up from the airport which at first they said they have two way so make sure you talk to them well
- Izzie (8/5): Nice Hotel in Quiet Area - The staff were so lovely and helpful, we would happily stay there again. It is only a five minute walk to a main road and very easy to get a tuk tuk anywhere from there. Only downside was that being away from the main area was that at night there were dogs from neighbours that were not always friendly. We always got a tuk tuk home.
- Teresa (10/5): Best boutique hotel in Siem Reap. - Sam So Boutique is a hidden jem. It’s tucked away with a 10 minute walk or short tuk tuk ride to Pub Street. It is a little oasis away from the bustle and scooters. Extremely clean, modern and safe the staff are very attentive and kind. We felt well cared for here. I highly recommend this place. The pool is clean and a lovely way to cool down after a long day of temple visiting. The AC kept our room comfortable & the firm mattress was fantastic. The breakfast was simple & filling. Eggs & bacon or ham to order & fresh fruit, toast, cereal, juice & the ever present (in Cambodia)Nescafé coffee available in a buffet.
- Peter (10/5): A Quiet Oasis - Sam So is a great place to stay , very private & out of the way , Great Friendly & Happy Staff , Great Breakfast , Just far enough from Pub St only a short walk , Pool is unreal.
