- Christine (10/5): - The cleanliness of the hotel was top tier and the friendliness of the staff was exceptional.

- Davis (10/5): - The front desk clerk Yolanda was one of the best customer service rep. I have dealt with in my 55 years. Very polite, handled the rush and my problem both at the same time with control and confidence very good employe. She went up and beyond to help me. Going thru booking. Com

- Jean (10/5): I will definitely come back next time I visit family in the area - Nice lobby and outdoor seating area. Checkin and checkout easy. Room was spacious and well furnished. The breakfast buffet was great and snacks and beverages near the.Registration desk were perfect for between meals and reasonably priced. The coffee pods in the room should have been replenished for the next morning. The desk staff only had decaf on hand when we requested some for next morning before retiring to our room. Luckily the breakfast buffet opened by six a m with nice fresh coffee.

- Katey16t (2/5): Horrific. Police presence daily. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. - If I could give this zero stars I would. We arrived with a group of hockey players, as part of a "stay to play tournament." Meaning the tournament coordinates with this hotel as an approved place for players to stay in order to participate in the tournament.
The day we checked into the hotel, there was an "incident" in the pool and it needed to be closed. We were later told by a staff member, that this is a regular occurrence and an excuse used by the hotel when a large group of kids checks into the hotel.
Another team checked in after us and they were not excessive in noise. The only people we saw the entire time at the hotel was our team, the other team, and the workers, so kids moving around the hotel and parents hanging out in their rooms did not bother any of us. My family left for the day and returned later to a member of the other team fighting with the front desk staff because they were being kicked out of the hotel in the middle of the day, for no reason.
That night the parents from our team were in the lobby eating dinner and watching a game on tv and the front desk worker was on the phone, visibly angry. Moments later the police arrived at the hotel and she brought them up to a "party" which was actually a room with an adult coach sleeping in it. On their way out, the police officer told one of our group members that this is a regular occurrence and happens multiple times a weekend whenever a team arrives at the hotel. Oddly since teams appears to be their only patrons. No action was taken by the police, because no wrong doing was occurring. They left and then were called back again that night and again the following night.
The front desk worker wanted our families to leave the lobby that night, so she continuously flickered the lights up and down.
The food at the breakfast bar was not edible. The milk was rotten/curddled. And the response was "oh darn." The egg bites were burnt to black. The waffle maker was either not brought out or out of batter for the majority of our stay.
The rooms were dirty. Mold on the shower curtain, old bandaid in the cabinet, musty smell through the hallway.
We stayed from wed-sun and never recieved housekeeping, despite asking for service three days in a row. We had to go to the front desk to get towels, tissues and toilet paper replenished.
In hindsight we should have packed up our family and left. If it was not a holiday weekend I probably would have been more inclined to do so. I have never seen an operation quite like the Springhill Suites in Independence and I hope I never see anything like it again.
If you don't want sports teams as patrons then remove yourself from Traveling Teams list of approved vendors. Although I'm sure if you do that, you will have zero business or actually have to provide service.
- agartly8 (2/5): Worst hotel experience ever - Do not stay at this hotel. Terrible experience with a General manager and threats of constantly being kicked out of the hotel. We went with a team and the kids and adults were sworn at by a staff member on more then one occassion, kids were followed in the halls by a particular staff member ( all they did was go and visit teammates in other rooms) and we were told to stay in the room at all times. We were threatened constantly with being kicked out. It actually felt like it was a prison. I have been too many hotels and never been treated the way our team was treated. This review does not even cover everything as there is too much to even list. If there was a zero rating I would give that as 1 star is being generous
Safety was also an issue with a very slippery lobby and sidewalk into the hotel. After my son had a big fall in the lobby the wet floor sign and mats came out. When one of the kids of another family fell on the poorly maintained sidewalk the parent let the manager know that she fell. The managers response was she wished the parent fell on the ice and that if they don't like it they can get the F&cK out. This is not how you treat people when you are in the hospitality industry. If you are thinking of staying here...go somewhere else.
- Steve (1/5): - The pool wasn't working and that was the reason we booked this hotel. Cancelled our reservation and went elsewhere.
- Loudon (8/5): It was fine. Lights near bed did not work and kept flashing all night but I was gone before I really had time to notice - Convenient It’s getting older
- Rob (8/5): -
- Michael (7/5): Would have been a great stay if the room was cleaned once in three days - Breakfast was delicious Stayed three nights in a row and room was NOT cleaned.
- Paula (8/5): -
- neonn260 (6/5): Bad Receptionist - The hotel receptionist Shante is very rude, loud and causes chaos. Management needs to do a better job at training and demonstrating professionalism.
- Prettysally08 (10/5): A Nice Stay - A beautiful hotel, room was very clean and quiet.
The front desk agents Yolanda and Shante were very professional and friendly, making me feel so welcome.
The complimentary breakfast and housekeeping were top notch.
Highly recommend anyone planning a stay in Cleveland for business or pleasure, because I know I will again.❤️
- Shannon (8/5): - Nice stay while in town for work. I had to leave earlier than when breakfast was available - would’ve been nice to have fruit or coffee in the lobby for people leaving early. Steak house was right next door which was nice for dinner.
- 885kendrav (2/5): Avoid if you have kids!! - My family, along with my son’s hockey team families, stayed during a tournament in Cleveland. We arrived Thursday evening, settled in and not even 45 mins later, a teammates family was being kicked out. WITHOUT WARNING. The front desk staff member, Yelenda, had it in for our crew from the moment we got there. She lied to the police, her own supervisor and other guests and fabricated a reasoning for the eviction. During our stay, we felt threatened, bullied and under scrutiny for every little thing we did. Police were called on us multiple times. Another team family was evicted as well as another the following evening.
I have never in all of my years traveling domestic and internationally encountered such horrific treatment from certain staff. In addition, the pool and workout room were “under repair” yet we never saw one piece of evidence to support that. My guess is they did not want any of it being used since the hotel was full of other teams as well.
We were told this hotel is notorious for treating customers this way by the police themselves and recommended we switch hotels to avoid any further instances.
The stay was stressful feeling like you had a target on your back. I do NOT recommend this hotel for any children.
- S8000DQch (2/5): DO NOT GO WITH FAMILY OR TEAMS! - Some of the staff, particularly Yelenda and Timothy, were absolutely horrible to my family and our friends/teammate's families. It was my belief that people working in hotels were in the hospitality business and this facility and most of their staff were anything BUT hospitable. We were there in a "stay-to-play" capacity, meaning our team HAD to stay there in order to participate in the tournament we traveled for. This also means the hotel entered into this agreement with the tournament, knowing hockey players would be present in their facility. This staff kicked out 3 of our families with NO prior warning as to why, even going so far as to call the POLICE to come and escort them off the property. My husband received a phone call stating that the front desk got a noise complaint, and when they were satisfied that there was actually no loud noises coming from the room, they responded with, "We wouldn't want to have to call the police". Completely ridiculous and unacceptable behavior, especially as our options were limited and we were coming from Buffalo, NY. What a way for Marriott properties to treat their Titanium Elite members. I would caution you that if you are traveling with any children, especially those that make ANY noise or may walk faster in the hallway than this staff may find appropriate, to stay in another hotel. This behavior was like nothing I have ever encountered while traveling.
- Dave (10/5): - Clean, spacious, value with great service.
- Loudon (5/5): It is convenient to the office I travel to and generally, the breakfast is great. - It was convenient. The lock on my door was broken. Lights did not work either. I generally enjoy staying here but this missed the mark this time. I will be back, though!
- Maya (10/5): - Pretty decent hotel for the price. Rooms are due for renovation.
- Steve (1/5): -
- Christine (6/5): - Large rooms, friendly staff. Broken bathroom fixtures.
- BILJANA (6/5): - Arrived Friday they said they clean rooms every other day. If needed daily request it. Sunday I let my kids sleep longer missed cleaning. Called at 1 front desk said we are short staffed and they are going home we don’t have anyone now. I said can I at least have towels. They brought 2 shower towels. Front dest staff is rude rude. Will not be returning.
- Jeff (10/5): - It might be a good idea to go around to each room and stairwell door and adjust the soft close mechanism so the doors shut more quietly. It’s unfortunate that most guests don’t have the wherewithal, common sense, courtesy, etc. to take a few seconds out of their days to stand by the door to make sure it closes as quietly as possible. It’s not pleasant to endure several door slams late into the night and early morning.
- sophia (10/5): Baby shower trip - Hotel was clean and beautiful! We had a suite with sofa bed and it was so spacious that the 4 of us were very comfortable! Very modern design. Love the bathroom layout and the big shower. Breakfast and staffs were great!
- Jose (2/5): - Terrible property! Mood issue was disgusting. You can smell the mold in the hallways. The room had so much mold, it smelled, you could feel the moisture as soon as you walk in the room, and the mold was so bad that you could see it clear as day on the ceiling like nobody cares to do anything about it, and I have the pictures to prove it. It was so bad they had to move me. Once they did, the next room had the same issue but not as bad as the first one. But you smell the mold, feel the moisture, and eve see the light on the seat was staring to get rust spot due to the moisture in the room. I also have pictures of that as well. The pool hadn’t been cleaned in years it looks like, the jacuzzi was closed and had brown water. The place was a disaster to say the least. If you need a hotel, I promise you this isn’t the hotel you want to stay in. I didn’t even stay, that’s how nasty it was. Dirty walls that were half ass wiped. Not worth the money or the headache.
- Almerico (8/5): -
- CALVIN (10/5): Would stay here again. - Very nice hotel, clean and friendly staff.
- Peter (10/5): - Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Huntter (10/5): -
- Diana (8/5): - Rooms definitely need a good scrub
- sheila (10/5): Perfect - I liked everything about the property from the Room to the daily breakfast.. Outside pattio was nice.. The bartender Hollie was amazing and made good drinks
- Karen (2/5): - This was the worst thing to walk into. Once we had our room key as we walked in - there is food from whomever rented the room before. Then, the bathroom was not clean - even the toilet was not flushed after someone used it!!!
The
- Nathan (10/5): - Plenty of restaurants close by
- Michelle (10/5): - I Love the spacious layout of the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
- lisafH4121NX (10/5): Perfect Location - I’ve been staying at this hotel every year for a conference. It’s a good location for my purposes. It’s always clean. The front desk staff is very courteous. They offered to store my cooler bag in the freezer before I checked in so nothing would spoil. The rooms are spacious. The hot tub is relaxing. The patio is great for unwinding but the fire pit wasn’t lit the last time I was there for some reason.
- Daughtry (5/5): Easy access - Location The waffle machine was broken the whole time. Dust was falling from the ceiling Saturday right where breakfast was. Parking was horrible. AC until sounded like it was about to explode. It was super load. Definitely overpriced with all these errors.
- Nazariy (2/5): - Very disappointed with my experience at this hotel. I arrived late at night around 1am, exhausted and just looking to check in. The front desk person was extremely rude and unprofessional. I presented a temporary government-issued ID from the state of Illinois, which is legally valid, but he refused to accept it and denied me check-in. He clearly lacked proper training on what constitutes valid identification. Instead of helping or offering any solutions, he was dismissive and condescending. Completely unacceptable service, especially at that hour. I will not be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone.
- Trina (10/5): - Amazing!
- Erica (1/5): Bad -
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - It was big enough for 6 of us to stay together... not many hotels offer that. . very clean and roomy..
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guillermo (10/5): - Excellent
- Kennedy (10/5): - We arrived late at night, midnight. Staff were very nice. Place is clean and quite. Spacious. Bed comfortable. Clean sheets. Will use again.
- Cathy (10/5): Good choice for comfort when in the Cleveland area. - Comfortable bed, really nice room. Fairly quiet. Good breakfast with lots of choices and friendly staff. Lots of restaurants very close by. Pool had such a strong odor of chlorine and is fairly small.
- Anne Marie (6/5): - Some mold in my shower
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): - Pleasant stay. Would recommend.
- Stephen (8/5): Very good - Breakfast bar was above average The room was not cleaned
- citywalker15 (6/5): Could be cleaner - I was a bit disappointed by the cleanliness of this hotel. There were visible stains on the walls in the bathroom that could have easily been wiped off, and dust/dirt in the corners of the bathroom. Unfortunately, I suspect a number of the neighboring hotels have similar issues.
- Hideyuki (5/5): Passable -
- Chad (10/5): Exceptional - Shantel at the front desk was exceptional.
- Diamond (3/5): I want my money back - Bed was broke tv was wasn’t turning down
- Shane (6/5): - room was very dirty
- Jackson (8/5): The fun we needed. - We enjoyed the room and amenities. Breakfast was good as well. We did not like the pool and hot tub. When we first went in it was clean then there were green slimy things floating in the water. The next day my kids got an ear infection.
- elena (4/5): Filthy - We switched rooms three times because the bathrooms were filthy. Although an employee corroborated the lack of cleanliness, the person at the front desk was annoyed at me complaining. I never had an issue like this in my life. This hotel does not deserve the 9.4 rating, to me is a 4.9.
- Kristin (8/5): Very good -
- Taylor (8/5): Very good -
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandy (10/5): Spacious and Clean - Hotel was wonderful! Room was very spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly.
- Michael (2/5): - This property has been on the continual decline since it's conception. I've stayed at this location since it was opened and have seen a drastic change in the cleanliness, staff and clientele. Weed seems to be the air freshener of America I get it. But catching the fragrance in the elevator or in the hallway just seems to be the norm at this place. The Smart thermostats are the dumbest thing to be put in any hotel. What an inconvenience it is to have to physically move to get your room temperature back where your stat was set at. Broken shower door that doesn't close, broken chair at my desk and funky looking stains on the couch. No bar or soap at the sink and dirty refrigerator. The list goes on and on and yet they charge more than the other competitive hotels. I will not book at this hotel again. I will take my business back to the home2. And outback and bonefish next door should hear what the front desk personnel negatively have to say about their business. They need to learn hospitality skills rather than voicing their opinion about food and understand some customers are limited for transportation so when they ask how the bonefish or outback is next door you should politely say I don't know or it's very popular. This hotel sucks.
- Benigno (10/5): - have a wonderful offer a lot of suggestions places to eat
- Justin (5/5): Passable -
- Ashley (8/5): - Good one night stay. Front desk guy was super friendly. Quick check in. Only downside I would say is we were at breakfast by 8:45 and there was enough waffle batter for one waffle, lady said they weren’t putting out anymore. She said when it’s gone it’s gone. Felt that was a little rude for everyone that came after us. A lot of families figure that free breakfast into their stay and while it wasn’t an issue for us, I can see where it would be for others. Especially when other options are pretty limited. But decent safe and clean hotel. We had the multiple bed suite and it worked great for us.
- Steven (10/5): - Great for businesss stay.
- Desirae (8/5): - It was close to where our sons tournament was, but we were given keys to a room that had ladders and maintenance equipment strung about. The front desk clerk apologized & made it right by quickly assigning us another room, but that one wasn't very clean, the deadbolt was broken, & a number of lamps did not work.
- Patrick (7/5): Good - The hotel and amenities were top notch. Our room was never refreshed by the cleaning staff during our 3 day stay. I expect more for such a costly stay.
- Mindy (10/5): - The staff was amazing. From prior to my arrival I had made a request, and I was promptly assured that my request would be taken care of, and they were. Barry, who checked us in. Was such a friendly and kind person. He went above and beyond expectations in every way, he made us feel so welcome and always asking how everything was going each day that we hao seen him. They had water bottles available for us when we arrived and also in the workout room, which was wonderful. The room was very clean and very spacious. I asked for a late check out due to flight changes due to the snowstorm, and they were able to accommodate that request. I had gone through some issues, not involved with the hotel that delayed me a little longer getting out of my room, which made me so upset because I did not want to inconvenience the hotel staff. When I went to check out, I was in tears because I felt so badly, but Shante, the front desk supervisor, for that day was absolutely so genuinely kind and comforting with her kind words. In the last few years, I have found it to be quite rare to find excellent customer service, but this hotel and their staff went above and beyond their jobs. They genuinely made sure I was happy and that my 13 year old son had everything he needed. This was not a one time occurrence, the staff was accommodating during our entire visit. I would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Great management and staff!
- James (8/5): It was great - Everything the place was close to restaurants and clean. The pool was closed
- Andrew (8/5): - Dirty
- Evgueni (10/5): - Clean and convenient
- andybN4546NL (8/5): Pleasant surprise - This stay exceeded my expectations. My room was pretty big, and bathroom was larger than one might expect. There is a free breakfast in the lobby. Only downside I had is the road noise from the highway behind it. If you can request a room on the other side of the hotel.
- kevinaX4955PY (4/5): Clean room, BAD service - Bad service, actually none at all. Stayed 1/13 - 1/21. and no one ever serviced my room in 8 days!! Had to go to front desk twice to request fresh towels. Never changed bed, never collected trash, never vacuumed or anything. Paid over $1788 for the stay. NOT WORTH IT. Room was clean upon arrival but that was it. Refrigerator froze my drinks and had to pull it out and adjusted the temperature on it. Toilet was loose and wobbled when you sat on it. For a place that is suppose to be a premium stay, far from it. Breakfast was decent. These people really need to step up their game or charge a lot less.
- Verified traveler (4/5): It's ok. - Room was not clean. Mold in shower, toilet dirty, and towels smelled like they hadn't been washed. Overall was just not clean and was disappointing because of that!
- Brittany (7/5): Good - Loved the room with a trundle option to allow kids to spread out in a hotel room. Pool was very small and the hot tub was broken.
- Jaume (8/5): Very good -
- Vanessa (10/5): AMAZING - Awesome place . Very clean and friendly
- Karen (10/5): - The breakfast options were awesome. The place was clean close to dining. But the bed was somewhat hard and the TV was having issues.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Goran (8/5): Very good -
- Rawnde (10/5): - Will stay again
- William (2/5): No hot water in entire hotel. - We checked in in the evening and the attendant at the front desk informed us that they were having issues with their hot water that evening, but it would be fixed by the morning. He only told us after we completed check in by the way. He did say that if we let the water run a while it would heat up. It did not bother us as we did not plan to shower that night, but rather in the morning. When we woke up the next morning we let it run for over 30 minutes and still no hot water. Turns out when we went to the lobby there was a line of guests at the front desk complaining about having no hot water. My son had a college interview that morning and a shower would have been nice
- Sonja (6/5): The sink was dirty, I was too tired to switch rooms. I had sanitizing wipes so I cleaned it myself -
- Millard (6/5): - While the property was relatively new and rooms nicely appointed, the service there leaves a lot to be desired. For $200/night, it is not unreasonable to expect daily room service and clean towels. It is their policy only to provide housekeeping every other day. Breakfast was offered in the lobby, but the quality did not succeed. Overall, somewhat diappointed from a place with a lot of potential.
- Duana (8/5): - The lighting wasnt good
- Bria (10/5): Quick getaway - When was amazing and neat very spacious. Customer service was great and very helpful.
- Latasha (1/5): Very poor - Staying at that hotel was not worth my money nothing was met to my needs I actually wanted my money back room was half clean had to do it myself no microwave in the room but wen asked do they have one in the hotel I was told no but the other race asked they walked them to the microwave Service
- Branko (2/5): Very poor - Awful banana looks like they pull out of garbage They did not have a light coffee Breakfast and the pillows in the rooms are worn out. I have to use three of them. It feels like I only use one. For Service, they giving you it’s most expensive in the area which is not worth it
- Tim (10/5): - hotel was very quiet and clean. Staff were all very friendly.
Room and bathroom were very nice!!
Would for sure stay there again!!
- Kenneth (10/5): - The room was very clean and modern. Staff was friendly and our stay was very pleasant
- Timothy (8/5): - Items in the gift area like beverages and snacks were way overpriced.
- Dale (10/5): - Room was very spacious and clean. Excellent location for what I had to do. Huge bathroom. I stay here twice a year.
- Terrell (10/5): Exceptional -
- wade (10/5): - The stay overnight was great. Everything was love.
- Lawrence (10/5): - I was really impressed with the breakfast selection and the clean rooms..... I loved my bathroom and the property was very quiet considering that they were filled to capacity. I'll be back for sure!
- Chad (10/5): - Very good stay
