Guest Reviews
- Ntlafatso (8/5): - The staff we accommodating and very friendly. The road to the place.... They did update us about the road beforehand, but I just hope it gets fixed somehow.
- Muofhe (10/5): - 95% Not so much
- Nicky (5/5): Has the potential to be amazing but needs some work - Staff were friendly, kind and helpful.
Mosquito nets and air con provided. The road to get there is very bumpy, in wet weather it may not have been passable. In a small car, it was very uncomfortable.
The rooms were quite basic, nothing provided in fridges. Mosquito nets were provided but old.
The location is really in the middle of the bush, which has its charms, but there were a LOT of insects.
Pool was a bit dirty.
The grounds were in disrepair. Photos on booking.com must be a bit out of date.
For the price, unfortunately we were disappointed.

- FRED (9/5): Super! - Logement spacieux et très proche du kruger
Personnel très agréable
Très bon séjour Rien
- karabo (10/5): place is nice just that food - food
- Matteo (10/5): Exceptional - The house was really beautiful and big enough to be comfortable in 6 people Nothing. The road is a gravel road but wide and not that difficult to ride, even with small car.
- Johan (2/5): never again - The pictures does not compare to the the actual. The units seem clean but are very old and needs some work. The place is rundown.
- Jaco (6/5): Nice stay in Phalaborwa - Nice clean guesthouse. Nice breakfast and friendly staff The road from the township to the guesthouse is very poor. Potential guests should be informed to approach the guesthouse from town. It is still a gravel road, but in fairly good condition
- Maravire (10/5): Exceptional - The is perfect and very quiet,,it's really enjoyable, and not forgetting the friendly and caring stuff
- Jaco (6/5): Nice stay after poor road. - The guesthouse provides a nice breakfast. There is enough parking available. The room was clean and have a nice bed. The road is very poor if you follow google maps from Gravelotte. You need a SUV to drive it safely. The road from town is much better.
- Marie (7/5): Great place from Kruger’s gate - Warm welcome from lovely staff. Great and yummy breakfast and clean and nice swimming pool. Good location from Krugers gate and away from the city bustle. Stagnant water next the room so that plenty of mosquitoes. Mosquito nets torned so not effective.
Bedroom clean but huge doubts that sheets were changed. We can see that there is no improvement on comments posted a couple of years ago. If there is no improvement , this lovely lodge will decline.
- Darren (6/5): - There was no water to wash or shower in the morning. The swimming pool was dirty and didn’t resemble the photo shown when booking.
- Ngidi (9/5): forest experience - fresh air
forest environment did not serve us dinner
- Maryanne (3/5): Wont be returning! - Unfortunately there wasnt a kettle or coffee/tea station in the room where you can make your own coffee and no TV.
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Mogobe (6/5): Grand stay - Was good Too short a stay to comment on this
- Tristie (7/5): For the people at Normann we will return. - The peace and tranquility was wonderful. The aircons was helpful in the extreme heat. Joshua's friendliness made the place HoMe. He was always everywhere and helped with whatever we asked for. Early in the morning he was already up and going and stayed up untill late at night with us. Normann is Joshua and Jushua is Normann Safari Lodge.
Gwen - thank you for my Dad's 80th birthday present Rooms: The shower messes water in front of the toilet, which takes quite some time to dry and is slippery. No pull-up handles for the elderly at the toilets, mosquito nets are torned. Space around the beds in Rhino room were not enough for my dad and brother. I did pay for 3, but after my brother saw the space he said he will rather sleep in his flat in town. What a pity.
Outside: lights can dim at night, and the big tree at the parking area can be protected by tires. I reversed right into it and damage the car's bumper. What a pity
- Khazamula (8/5): Home away from home - With the location, the poor road from town is the biggest challenge.
Breakfast was good.
The peace in the bush was calming
The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful The access road from Town is a mess, especially for small 🚗🚗.
- Percy (8/5): My Stay was excellent thank you - The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.
But the rest of my stay was excellent. The mosquito nets were not that effective. Could not close properly.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - The lodge is in a really beautiful ‘wild life atmosphere’ location. The bungalow was furthermore very comfortable and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed the breakfsst. And there’s also a refreshing swimming pool. The gravel road towards the camp is a bit challenging the first time. But once you know it, it is very easy.
- Hope (5/5): Passable -
- Terrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mavis (5/5): Stay was good. - We were at self catering chalet, so we didn't went for breakfast
The location is good and cool. The swimming pool and the Jacuzzi was not in good condition, we walked a distance to the other side for swimming.
- Ncube (5/5): Passable -
- Regan (8/5): Very good -
- Anntonette (7/5): Good - The breakfast was excellent! Wow, and such friendly staff. We had breakfast at 6 am and it was no hassle for them to prepare it for us that early in the morning.
- Musandiwa (1/5): The attitude of the manager was very bad, an accident occurred in the bathroom were by a shower glass broke, the manner - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The attitude of the manager was very bad, an accident occurred in the bathroom were by a shower glass broke, the manner that the manager handled the situation was very bad and unprofessional, to even suggest calling the police for a damage/breakage was uncalled for. I think we could have handled the matter in a different way.
- Joerg (7/5): Good -
- Larry (10/5): Rina made my stay very comfortable. -
- Shaun (10/5): Great, comfortable and clean, awesome being in the bush - Breakfast was great, room clean and comfortable, pool was awesome Signage display of lodge needs to be more visible, should have refreshments on site even if only cold drinks as it's a bit far to go back into town to buy
- Mercy (7/5): Good -
- Nazareen (2/5): Very poor - The breakfast was okay. There was no microwave, no fridge no Tv.
- Luigi (3/5): over priced - breakfast was good road bad
rooms not well furniture
shower floor slippery
- Gerrie (8/5): Home away from home - Good service of staff
- Rob (4/5): Disappointing - Facilitie, Staff and breakfast. Loadshedding is daily, no battery backup lights in Room, There is a bar fridge, but no drinking water, no braai facility to make food, had to drive back to town for supper.
- Makgamathu (5/5): Passable -
- Eunicah (8/5): Very good - We like love and care for visitors The road is not good for small cars and it's narrow and dusty .The road has thorn trees and they scratch cars and it has bumps.
- Dirk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rob (8/5): A very nice and peacefull stay - The lodge is a few km's from town so it's very quiet and peacefull, the breakfast was great, too much really ! I think there was a miscommunication, I informed the lodge trough booking.com we wanted secure parking (which they had) and dinner at site in the evening, I received answer : "noted", upon arrival we proved the only guests and no dinner available, luckily we still had some snacks so we did not have to return the sandroad into town in the dark for dinner..
- Du (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tete (10/5): Exceptional -
- Regan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Malehlohonolo (10/5): Exceptional - The lodge is secluded, perfect for when one needs to be away from the city. All rooms have pool and garden view with bord sounds throughout the day,the tranquility is top notch.
The rooms are big with large showers that always have hot water. There are aircons in the room.
The staff, mme Antoinette and her team with ntate Josiah, always there to serve with smiles on their faces. I loved everything about Normann Safari bush lodge!
- Johan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dorah (6/5): There's a room for improvement on breakfast. B&B chalets will do with kettle, cups&glasses - Network is superb 👌 regardless that, the place is in the bushes No tea nor kettle or even glasses and water in the rooms.
- Dorah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jack (6/5): It was to short nothing to - They must improve to get TV
- Amy (4/5): - There was no water and this wasn't explained to us. Also Google maps directed us in a way that took us on a road with unmarked huge speed bumps that damaged the car. Should put a warning about that for sure. Grounds were nice and the place was clean and comfortable.
- Intellidrive (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mabule (5/5): Passable -

- Kobus (7/5): Good - No television
- Chaukeshalati678 (10/5): Exceptional - the place is clean and nice there are no activities
- Wieneke (7/5): Good - I like the bush feeling there and the friendly staff If there would be 2 chairs and a small table in front of the chalet that would be great.
- Brink (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (7/5): Good - the staff are very helpful and friendly they assisted me more than expected.
- Chrissie (8/5): was a good overnight stay - authentic isolated
