• Martina (10/5): - V Talalla Freedom resort jsme strávili úžasných 6 dní. Místo je jedinečné svou polohou nad krásnou klidnou pláží, ke které se schází po schodech. Snídaně i jídlo je v místní restauraci výborné za rozumné ceny. Bonusem je výhled na pláž přímo z restaurace. Bydleli jsme v bungalovu se třemi ložnicemi. 2 ložnice jsou vybaveny klimatizací a jedna jen větrákem. Personál v resortu se choval moc mile a vždy byli ochotni zajistit vše k naší spokojenosti. Jedná se opravdu o perfektní místo se skvělým zázemím a zaměstnanci. Děkujeme moc za krásný pobyt.

You have a stunning view from the room, an amazing breakfast in the morning and a great little pool to cool down in. The family running the place is great, we’ve been treated super well. Der Strand ist wunderschön, etwas Welle, aber nicht zu viel. Großer Bungalow mit viel Platz. Leider Klimaanlage nur in 2 Schlafräumen, aber hier genug Betten für 5 Personen. Toller Pool. Leckeres Essen mit wunderschönem Blick. Liegen am Strand. Sehr nette Inhaber. Gute und günstige Massage. Einen Tag haben wir das Freilassen der Schildkröten gegen 18:30 Uhr verpasst und den nächsten Tag waren keine geschlüpft.

Room is standard, basic but bed is comfortable and you may more enjoy the outside facilities and beach rather than the room

We watched the fruit bats feeding while eating dinner. Patio outside room was great for reading as in the shade. Room was not great for the cost, bed a little uncomfortable bathroom not the best.

• Anthony (10/5): - Emplacement idéal dans un joli coin de la côte assez calme comparé à d’autres endroits bruyants et bondés de touristes comme Mirissa, Weligama ou Unawatuna. L'établissement offre des bungalows basiques mais avec tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un magnifique séjour. Le restaurant de l'hôtel est excellent et le personnel serviable, sympathique et compétent. Le gros avantage est la piscine très agréable à tout heure de la journée. L'emplacement est aussi idéal avec une vue imprenable sur la plage accessible via un escalier un peu raide mais bien pratique. L’un des meilleurs établissement de notre séjour au Sri Lanka.

• Barbara (10/5): - Lokalizacja jest obłędna!! Pięknie położone na wzniesieniu. Posiłki jadaliśmy z przepięknym widokiem na ocen. Pyszne jedzenie. Obfite śniadania. Można zrobić masaż. Jest butik z ubraniami i można nawet wybrać material.i poprosić aby Panią coś na nasz wymiar uszyła co było dużym plusem i wspomagało lokalny biznes. Plaża prawie pusta. Obserwowaliśmy rybaków i ich pracę. Wypożyczyliśmy deske do body surfing i się super na falach bawiliśmy. Pokój ok-jest to co być musi. Dzieci zadowolone również z basenu. Można było obserwowac małpy i duże nietoperz które latały pod nami jak jedliśmy kolacje na tarasie. Wieczorem dużo krabów na plaży-rownie dzieci miały zajęcie. Jak ktoś lubi cieszę i spokoj to polecam!

• Guest (9/5): Plage paradisiaque pour un séjour très reposant et ressourcant - La vue de la chambre sur la mer est juste incroyable, la piscine est très propre. La plage est magnifique. Les lits sont très confortables. Possibilité de voir le soleil se lever de la terrasse. Les singes viennent dans la journée et on peut prendre plaisir à les observer assis devant sa chambre. Les marches pour aller à plages sont un peu raides mais on si fait vite.

• Paul (9/5): Superb - We loved the view of the beach from the dining area. The property had some nice trees frequented by monkeys, hornbills and parrots. The swimming pool was spotlessly clean and you could see a partial view of the sea through the trees. We were there 2 nights. We stayed in a non a/c room the first night and found it too hot so we moved to an a/c room for the second night. The a/c worked well, the room was more spacious and the bathroom less basic.

• Nico (10/5): Most magical stay on our trip - The most beautiful location in Talalle with alot of wildlife and beautiful huge trees. Food was always very good (Sri Lankan options). The rooms were very nice and clean. Keep in mind that it's not a luxury resort therefore you can't have crazy expectations. Nothing negative just keep in mind that stairs are quite steep therefore if you have a disability it might be tricky to get up.

• Theodore (10/5): Paradise - The location and this place is special on a hill top at the end of beautiful Talalla beach. The restaurant location overlooking the beach is cool and serves good food. Many monkeys in the green gardens. The resort has sunbeds down on the beach and there some stall selling clothes. Sri Lanka does not get better then this Almost perfect. Yes, going down to the beach is a bit steep and maybe not easy for all. The bungalow had some old pieces of furniture and kitchen, but acceptable to us considering price, location and service.

Location is a fabulous as long as you are happy with the steps to the beach… beach is long and sweeping with unbelievable views from the restaurant at the resort. Loved the pancake, toast and fruit breakfast. Excellent value for money. Sign post found via Google led us through a different resort and up a track … there is another sign post on main road that takes you the correct way … but Google didn’t tell us that!!

Very good breakfast served in restaurant with spectacular view of the beach. I highly recomend! Note that the resort is situated on the hill so I wouldn't recomend to those who don't fancy stairs..

• John (10/5): Just loved it. - It is a beautiful location with very comfortable facilities. The pool was super clean and our hosts arranged drinks and food on site for us - as it was just out of season. It was peaceful watching the beach, people, animals and ocean from the restaurant site on the cliff. We were return guests which says it all. A map was provided to help with access which could have been confusing without. Maybe a few signs on the access road but not a big deal.
• Anita (10/5): Relaxing, family friendly resort a few minutes from the beach - Talalla Freedom Resort was a fantastic place for our family to stay. We were there for 2 weeks with our two tween kids and we loved so much about the property. We were in the 3 bedroom bungalow which was situated right near the pool. The beach was just a few minute walk from the resort and it was a great surf beach and also quiet and clean. The staff at the resort were kind and patient and lovely. I highly recommend Talalla Freedom Resort for a relaxing great family holiday. Whilst these weren't negatives for us, it is worth noting this is not a resort in the way westerners would imagine a resort might be and was more rustic. Given the location of the resort in a forest you will encounter ants and bugs and monkeys and birds but these only added to the excitement of the resort.

The owners sister tailors clothing that she sells on the beach. There could have been more signs on the bumpy road to the resort, since it is hard to find with google maps.

• Lucie (9/5): We loved everything about our stay at Talalla Bay - The location is amazing and the staff kind and helpful. The view from the restaurant is unbeatable and enjoys the sea breeze. The pool is great - clean and refreshing and also has an incredible view of the bay, along with a visiting monitor lizard and monkeys to watch while swimming. The food - delicious and fairly priced. The nearby Ayurvedic massage was excellent - go on…treat yourself! There’s a mixture of units, some with air con, some without - it wasn’t easy to work this out when booking. We were fine with just fan and cooled the room by letting in the breeze. The rooms are basic, but not a problem to us as this place is about the location.

My room was a little dark with no sea facing windows - I paid for the slightly nicer room but actually think the standard rooms were better
• Tobin (9/5): Resort with amazing views! - We stayed in a large three bedroom bungalow that had a lot of space for our family of five! We really enjoyed the location of this resort, with amazing views from the restaurant, and a short walk on stairs to the beach. The food we had for breakfast and dinner was wonderful. The kids really enjoyed the pool, and watching the many monkeys who live on the property. We also saw large bats, monitor lizards, and snakes (from a safe distance). We appreciated access to a washing machine and three drying lines under the porch roof. The restaurant staff and host were polite, helpful, and friendly. The bungalow was rustic but comfortable. We had a lot of rain and could sit on the porch and stay dry. We had AC in the main bedroom only, with space for 3, but the fan in the second bedroom was enough to have a comfortable sleep. Two of the three showers had hot water. The insects in the building were expected and not unmanageable. The mosquito nets worked well. The kitchen had a bad smell but we only used it for the fridge. Two men who took care of the grounds seemed to live on site and were not as friendly as the other people. We sometimes felt like we were in their space. They also carried a rifle to scare the monkeys, but that made us very uneasy with our kids around. We don't know if they were going to shoot the monkeys as we didn't hear any shots. We would recommend creating an information page for future guests with information about the pool, the restaurant, any rules or advice, and info about the neighbourhood. We felt like after check in we weren't told anything and had to ask a lot of questions. The beach is lovely but has a strong current and undertow, and large waves. We heard from a local that tourists occasionally drown. With the number of young kids at the resort we feel like advice about keeping safe in the water is a good idea. Kids with swimming experience could still swim safely.

The location is phenomenal with birds eye view of the entire bay. The lovely beach is easily accessible and the guesthouses are quaint and unique. We liked a everything.

They also provided a lovely breakfast each day. Being in the jungle, mosquitos were a problem. The accommodation could be cleaner but served our purpose well and we enjoyed our time there. There are some steep steps down to the beach, made it an adventure for us but some may not be able to access it easily.

• Robert (5/5): Brilliant beach, disappointing accommodation. - The guesthouse is located on a hill right at the West end of the beach. There is a beautiful view over the beach. In terms of infrastructure, all rooms have their own little terrace. Also, the pool seemed very nice (we didn’t try it). Breakfast was very good. Pictures looked much nicer than reality. There is nothing to say about very basic accommodation in general. However, this is not an excuse for lack of cleanliness. Especially the bathroom was in quite bad conditions when it comes to cleanliness. The bed was ok; but any other furniture was falling apart. Mattresses were very hard. Rooms are dark and sticky.

The view from the restaurant is the best I've seen in Sri Lanka so far and the family that run the place are very friendly. The pool was clean and has a sea view, I would highly recommend for anyone looking for some quiet time.
• Jean-françois (10/5): Great place with a beautiful view on probably the best beach in southern Sri Lanka - Super nice location overseeing the great Talalla beach. The staff was nice and the restaurant was very good (try their cashew curry !). It also comes with a beach access, right down the stairs from the restaurant/resort. The pool was clean and enjoyable. Be prepared to climb quite a few stairs to the restaurant, and then your room. It’s worth the view, but with big bags, it’s worth mentioning.

The food in the restaurant of this place is tasty and the owner is friendly. Renu, the sister of the owner also had a good selection of clothing to buy and is a very honest down to earth person. Highly recommend this gem of a place. Almost nothing. Perhaps the lights in the room could have been brighter. But that's about it. Otherwise a very good place.
• Alan (9/5): Superb - Good location, beach good, great staff.. food rally good. All round great value. Steps could be difficult for some people and need more lighting on a night. Room could do with better lighting.
• Diana (10/5): Exceptional - Nice view, calm place. Good choice for those, who want to escape from noise, people, big cities and to experience ocean waves. Also unexpectedly have an open-air discotec or see fishing boats and fish caught by fishermen.
• Di̇dem (10/5): Exceptional - Magnficent view, perfect location, breathtaking beach with delicious foood. You can also see monkeys in their natural habitat.
• Elisa (10/5): Best place I've visited in Sri Lanka. It's a fairytale. Amazing position and family kindness - What a paradise!! Secret place directly on the beach where is easy to swim. Stunning view from everywhere. Great rooms and services. The food was always delicious. The family is so nice and helpful. I will come back for sure. Everything was simply perfect here.

• Liz (10/5): beautiful and peaceful - beautiful space. you get a lot for the price. entrance hard to find. But staff come down to the main street to show us the way so no complaints
• Teresa (9/5): Amazing area and view ~90steps above sealevel - Amazing view from the resort which is approximately 90 steps above the beach (restaurant ~40). Beautiful and quiet beach with free sunbeds. Each room has a terrace with comfortable chairs in front. Bed with mosquito net and warm water bathroom. Tasty breakfast with amazing view. The way to the hotel is a small adventure through some hidden ways. At least some signs are existing which are guiding the way. Some more storage are would be beneficial!
