- Kevin Lloyd (8/5): Great accomodation at good price, barring minor issues - Lovely property. Reasonably quite. Cozy rooms. On-site restaurant is very convenient and food was great. There was no hot water in the morning. I noticed a few momentary power trips late in the evening - perhaps this was related? Overall, cleanliness was great. My bed sheet was clean, but had a very subtle stain. Would recommend replacing the sheet.

Lovely pool and outdoor space although I didn’t use this due to weather. No hot water. No desk. WiFi was terrible. No coat hangers for clothing. Amenities basically non existent. Dining room was cold and tables not wiped. Broken glass on the room door. Ripped curtains. This place needs maintenance and management.

- Jean-François (8/5): un bref séjour, mais un bon moment passé dans ce lodge. - Nous avons passé juste une nuit entre 2 vols, le transfert aéroport guest lodge a été assuré par le lodge, qui est assez proche de l'aéroport, la chambre est confortable, le personnel accueillant, le petit déjeuner tôt le matin avant de repartir, correct. Rien de négatif lors de ce court séjour.

Er was enige onduidelijkheid over de shuttle (airport-accomodatie), waardoor we enige tijd moesten wachten op een uitgestorven airport. Maar dit is uiteindelijk toch goedgekomen.

- Carly (8/5): Very affordable, convenient accommodation with polite staff and comfortable rooms. - We have stayed at Aerotropolis a few times in the past. The guesthouse is conveniently located just a few minutes drive from OR Tambo Airport, on a quiet street in a secure area. We were able to park our car and trailer behind their security gate without any hassle.

Na de landing in de avond op de airport was de aankomst in het donker slecht georganiseerd ondanks verzoek tot laat inchecken. Geen reponse bij de gate. Na uiteindelijk het nummer te hebben gebeld werd er na de 3e keer opgenomen. Niet het welkom wat je wil als buitenlander in een onbekend zuid-afrikaans stadsdeel in het donker. Kwaliteit van het de kamer niet spectaculair.

The staff is exceptional friendly and helpfull. The Airport transfer is very convenient and it was a delight to chat to Justice, our transport driver. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, spacious, and the beds are very comfortable.Thank you for a very warm welcome and stay.

I got there, and they delayed opening, seemed like they were sleeping, which didn't bother me much because it's understandable. However, upon arrival and walking through the premises, it smelt like cigarette smoke, even in the rooms, despite there being no smoking signs.. The pillow cases in my rooms were dirty, the remote for the TV was not working, very limited channels. I would not recommend.

- Kingon (10/5): Stunning! Great staff make it so great! - Justice is an absolute asset to this lodge, such a helpful man. The reception lady with the blonde hair was a pleasure to deal with, lots of laughs too! The food was spectacular! The lady in the kitchen is cheerful, and cooks like a dream! I am NOT an easy person to deal with or please, just for the record!!!!!! My room was comfy and has everything that I needed after traveling through the middle east during the current war going on. I will recommend this place 1000 times over! Thank you to Lerato and her incredible team! Candi Lodge could make a fire in the boma at night as shown on the website, for guests to enjoy a little bit of outdoor time with a beverage.

However, the attitude of the receptionist nearly made us choose another accommodation for the future and we no longer recommended Aerotropolis to friends either. She really is not friendly.

- genemariej (2/5): DO NOT BOOK!! - DO NOT BOOK!!!! I made a booking for my mother to stay on 21 April 2026. Due to the ongoing unrest in the Middle East affecting travel plans, I contacted the lodge more than a month in advance to ask about changing the booking date. I was told that the date could be moved, but only if I paid an additional R500. As the situation escalated, I contacted them again to explain that we might need to cancel the flight entirely and asked whether a refund would be possible. Their reply on 06 March 2026 was: “Please let us know as soon as possible about any changes, then we will communicate further on the refund.” After cancelling the flights, I notified Aerotropolis on 07 March 2026, with cancellation proof, but received no response. I followed up again on 8 March 2026, and again received no reply. Then again on 10 March 2026, no response. I have since tried contacting them further, but my emails are now bouncing back. As a result, we are losing over R1000 for a booking that had to be cancelled due to circumstances completely outside our control. The airline was understanding and willing to refund due to the unrest, but unfortunately this guest lodge has shown no willingness to communicate or assist. Very disappointing service and communication.

Recepcionista sempre muito gentil, guardou nossa mala até nosso retorno Ficamos em duas oportunidades por uma noite no hotel, e na primeira vez nosso quarto era antigo, não condizente com as fotos do Booking, com cheiro estranho, sem ventilador

From the food, to the airport shuttle to the overall service Justice, Rosie and Joyce were amazing (as well as all the other staff whose names I didn't catch). - Roxanne (8/5): Excellent location - Excellent location and comfy bed We messaged the driver while collecting our bags, and he told us to message again when we were at the spot. We then had to wait over half an hour for him to collect us, which is quite a while when it's late at night. He also dropped us at domestic arrivals after we asked for international departures. We did try direct him he was insistent it was the right gate. Not a train smash but had we been a family with Children and lots of bags, it's quite a long walk.
- Hermien (8/5): - The staff was great and the shuttle was on time and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Location is perfect for an overnight close to the airport. The garden is beautiful. You are not allowed to bring your own drinks, which I understand and respect but then you have to have a reasonable selection to choose from on the premises from their bar which was not the case and they had no ice.
