- Nakara (10/5): A stylish and memorable stay with heartfelt hospitality in the heart of Thonglor. - The hotel has a very unique character and beautifully blends modern luxury with a warm residential feeling. The staff were genuinely attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the stay. The room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed with elegant details. I especially loved the atmosphere of the property — peaceful yet stylish, making it feel like a hidden gem in Thonglor. The overall guest experience felt personalized and memorable. There were only a few minor details that could be improved, but nothing that affected the overall experience. The stay was comfortable and enjoyable from start to finish.

- Zebib (10/5): - All the staff at the hotel are wonderful and quick to respond. The rooms are very clean and although I was there during a time they were doing some renovations there was no noise or inconvenience to guests. I will recommend this ti anyone that prefers a quiet hotel and will definitely stay here again.

- Edgar (4/5): - The price is what sold us. Service from front desk was nice. The room was dirtier than average and had limited amenities. The breakfast that comes with the side restaurant felt like an afterthought in terms of content, service, and environment. Front desk says restaurant can't send drinks for in-room service. Restaurant is actually a nightclub from 2-5am where the noise will definitely keep you awake. Can be inconvenient to get around to other parts of the city.
- Stephanie (4/5): - The lobby is beautiful but that is about it. The basic amenities were 1 tiny bottle of shampoo, and 1 tiny bottle of body wash. Conditioner was chargeable. Better to get a full sized bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body wash from a "nearby" mall (more than 30 mins drive away) instead. Mould surrounded shower and sink area, sink was decolourised and well-used, towels had holes and the hems were all tattered. Had to call housekeeping for missing towels daily. Had a kitchen but pointless coz not even a single cutlery could be found. Had a washer and dryer in the room but had to run the dryer 7 rounds to dry the clothes. When given feedback, staff said that "not all guests wanted their clothes fully dry" - what? They want to wear/pack damp clothing? Breakfast selection did not reflect a "luxury" hotel as boasted, but instead was that of a star-less hotel. Even a boutique hotel can do better. Same food selection daily was an overkill to paying for it. Bed was squeaky and bed linen was torn. Floorboards were equally squeaky and uneven. All in all, Metropole has seen it's good days but it's time for a major overhaul to survive.

- Verified traveler (4/5): They need to update conditions of hotel on the web - Not so good property under construction. Nevertheless, the pool and fitness center was unavailable for use. No clean towels upon arrival. I had to pass this mess every time I left my room!

- Elizabeth (4/5): Disappointing - The room was spacious. It has an area to store suitcases so they are not in the middle of the room. It has a washing machine, which is very functional. When we arrived, we didn't have towels in the room. The kitchen counter had stains from previous items, as did the small wooden table that was on the sofa. The wallpaper on the walls was peeling in some areas, and there were cracks in the ceiling. When they cleaned the room, they only made the bed because when I returned, I found some small pieces of paper on the floor that I forgot to throw away. They replaced the water but took one of the glasses. The kitchen didn't have utensils, which seemed odd to us since we had a kitchen, but we didn't plan on cooking. I don't know if they can be requested at reception. Overall, for a 5-star hotel, we expected more attention to detail and better cleanliness. It's worth mentioning that when we arrived, we were notified that we couldn't access the gym or the pool, as they had been repairing them for a couple of days. However, they didn't notify me by email, which was one of the reasons I chose the hotel.

They are closed for maintenance and the reception not very friendly and the housekeeping they don’t come to help and a lot of things, but I have in this hotel.

- Caroline (6/5): Away from the noise of the city but it’s got good access with the local boat behind the building on the canal. - The property was in a good location to access the city centre. The local boat behind the hotel was cheap and fast avoiding the traffic . The staff were very helpful . The room had a washer dryer which was very handy and kettle toaster and microwave. The room was not what we expected and not sure where the rating came from. It’s very dark and a bit seedy. There’s a men only section in the hotel if you want to that sort of thing. The room advert said it had a jacuzzi but that’s actually a small bath. We ended up grading and paying another £100 for 5 days because the room was small and dark. The hotel needs updating with some bright lights. The pool was also nothing like the photos. We didn’t bother looking for the shared hotel jacuzzi . We should have known better with the price but it was a late booking and thought it was a bargain. Basically you get what you pay for I guess.

Meldew in the bathroom, dust on the lamps, the garbage can looked and smelled bad, I walked out of my room to find the cleaning staff sorting the dirty linnins in the hallway and I had to step through them to get past. The TV reception looked like it was using rabbit ears from the 1970s. It had a stove top and microwave but no utensils, plates or cookware.The hallways smelled musty with stains all over the carpets. At this location and price point I was not expecting something supper nice. But not being clean is a deal breaker for me. I would not recommend staying here. I have stayed at other hotels in Bangkok in much better locations and at similar price point that are head and shoulders better.

Bar and resturaunt in the hotel is nice, decent food. Located in a very nice area with many nice cafes, bars, resturaunts. Room was quiet dark, even with all the lights on, not much natural lighting. Shower water ran along the top of the bath tub and down onto the floor every time I showered.

- Brett (7/5): A decent enough hotel for a short stay - Staff were friendly and helpful. Dee, the front desk manager made every effort to accommodate my requests and is very pleasant and professional. The concierge staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms differ only in size but all offer a kitchenette and washer/dryer. Using the water-boat at the nearby ThongLo pier on the Saen Saep canal (khlong) is the best way to get around. There is a hotel shuttle too, for drop off only, to certain key spots in the area. The WiFi is good. Housekeeping had several cleaning issues which management did address. Breakfast was very basic but everything was cold or lukewarm. Rather eat out. The “spa bath” mentioned, is the size of a large bucket!

The balcony was dirty and not groomed well. Lights outside did not work. Definitely a 3 star hotel running other businesses. Not 4 stars at all!

Upon arrival our hopes were high, as the lobby had a charming rustic feel and they gave us a beautiful flower/swan arrangement in the room. Those hopes quickly diminished. Upon check-in we were given no information whatsoever besides “here are your keys.” No information about breakfast options, the fact that they DON’T have a restaurant (just a bar), where the pool or fitness room were located, or the fact that that have a “men’s only?” spa and oh yeah, a night club that bumps blaring music until 4am every single night. Not only that, our room was located on the side above the club- please put future long-term guests in a room FAR away from the club as it woke us up every single night. There was water damage on the wall of our room by the bathroom, the bathroom doors wouldn’t even close all the way, so no privacy, and the shower design was so poor that the ledge filled with water and ran out onto the floor every time you shower. The “kitchen” was not stocked with anything, not a single thing that could make it a usable kitchen. And, the laundry machine was not provided with laundry soap. We stayed 6 nights, and even stayed at another hotel for 1 night that was better. We have traveled all over the world and this hotel rating does not live up to its standards of 4.5 stars. We have pictures of all of our room complaints.

It was handy to have the washing machine / tumble dry combo which was probably the best feature in that room. The bed was also very comfortable. The security guards were also very friendly. We do love the old fashioned setting of the lobby. The location was pretty decent. A few 7eleven for any other convenient shopping was the highlight! On the other hand the kitchen staff was not as nice. We had our breakfast included with the rate but after the first night having to be served so abruptly (rudely) & the food plus the cocktails were not as good as advertised we just couldn't be bothered to have any breakfast for the remaining of our stay. Another note was when We arrive in our room, there was no towels or amenities, they later on delivered it & apologize for it which was fine. The shared shower over bathtub was atrocious. Everytime we have a shower the water just poured out of the tub as the setting of it inevitably bounes all the water out even with the shower curtains pulled across, which was also filthy & has mould on it. The kitchen bench was also dirty & oily, with some finger prints & other greasy marks. Mostly to point: the hygiene & cleanliness was very poor. Remote control had grabby prints all over it as well as the AC control. Swimming pool was closed due to government regulation, it would be nice if it was mentioned on the website or on booking.com so that we didn't have to be disappointed not to use the pool.

Although it was non-refundable, we preferred to lose the money rather than stay a second night. This hotel comes up as 5 stars in the app but in actual fact it is closer to two stars. The pictures are very misleading; the actual room and property look nothing like what is advertised. We were quite surprised by the user ratings for this hotel, considering how lacking it is. 1. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. 2. The traffic noise was far too loud to sleep. 3. The pool looks nothing close to what is advertised. 4. The sink in the bathroom was blocked and didn’t drain properly. 5. The bathtub was not fitted properly and water leaked all over the floor when taking a shower. 6. Only large bath towels were provided in the bathroom and no hand towels. The towels were old and frayed. 7. The breakfast “buffet” was quite sad. 8. As it was a Saturday night, there was a deejay on the main floor who played music at an inappropriately loud level; so loud it could be heard in the room. When combined with the traffic noise, it was intolerable.

- Blain (8/5): - Feels like a former 6 star hotel that's still fantastic, just a touch dated, however fantastic still. Little things like the digital light switches don't work perfectly and are a bit touchy. The furniture is so cool, and the room layout is excellent, the pool is basic as is the gym. The Sauna and Spa would be excellent however I couldn't easily figure out how to use them and I doubt the water heats up immediately. So the features and feel are really cool, just feels like a few things need to be maintained. Cheers

I called the front desk and asked them where the very loud music was coming from and they told me coming from their very own bar. They said the owner really liked having the bar open to 4 AM every night. . So I got very little sleep. I wouldn't stay there again.

- Michael (9/5): Superb - The staff were friendly and helpful the bed was very comfortable the aircon was quiet the towels were past sell by date although the hotel looks old it has touch switch lighting a Japanese style toilet plenty of hot water with high pressure the breakfast was good the only downside was in the amenities it stated it had ATM on sight in fact its 100 meters round the corner also no biscuits or chocolate as advertised No ATM machine

Mosquitoes everywhere even in the room. I can accept mosquitoes in common areas but I believe that in an Hotel of this level after the make up the room should be disinfected from mosquitoes as many Hotels do.

Right now it’s unfortunately quite neglected. Not much variety of food for breakfast. The staff doesn’t reply on messages sent via booking.com
- Porcha (2/5): Used room and poor customer service - Upon check in, the front desk staff pretended to "run out" of rooms. When I requested my money back, they miraculously has the room I book available. The time I checked in was 1130 pm. I did not have the energy for horrible service. After I made it to the room I found finger prints everywhere, hair in the drains and sheet, and poop stain in the toilet. After I reported these findings, they told me house keepers are only there in the morning and they couldn't do anything about it. If this was my last resort, I'd rather sleep in car.

The fitness room seems to be quite long time not being maintained then lots of dust and equipments are broken. There were lots of mosquitoes in my room.

- Natasha (2/5): Very poor - Mattress and pillows were comfortable. I would not recommend staying here. We left after one night. The hotel smelled musty and old and there was very little natural light in the building and in the bedrooms. We were ‘upgraded’ to a nicer room which also smelled very musty, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathrooms, the bedsheets and towels were ripped, and the balcony lock was broken. We requested to change rooms which was done efficiently but the next room was not any better. You can get much better value for the price paid.
