Guest Reviews
- Sunny (6/5): Unfriendly staff demeanor undercut quaint property - The front desk representative was cold and unsmiling and reticent, almost made us feel unwelcome. The property itself is historic and beautiful, close to the beach.
- Catherine (10/5): - Very nice place!
Service was wonderful and room was clean. Continental breakfast was very good. Location one block from the beach was perfect. We will be back again!
- William (8/5): - Spring Lake Inn is very convenient to the beach and walkable to town. The room was very nice, but on the third floor with 2 flights of steep stairs. The staff was excellent, and it was an overall great stay. Rates were very competitive for August.
- Bridget (10/5): - Very friendly staff, room was very clean and cozy.
- Jane (10/5): - The Inn is beautiful and very clean. One block to the beach and one block to The ice parlor. We got badges to the beach. Loved the outdoor showers. Will definitely be back.
- Raphael (8/5): - We loved our stay at Spring Lake Inn! The staff was extremely helpful, and the location couldn’t be better—just a 4-minute walk to the beach and about 20 minutes to downtown. There was plenty of parking available, which was really convenient. Breakfast was enjoyable, and we appreciated having fresh fruit available all day and sweet treats in the afternoon. The inn is charming with its historic character, though it may benefit from some updates in the future. Our room was on the smaller side, so next time, we’ll book earlier to secure a larger room. Highly recommend!
- Alexandra (8/5): - Really cute little Inn in the perfect location in Spring Lake. A block from the beach, 10 minute walk to downtown Spring Lake. The room was small but cute. Adorable lobby and staff puts out fresh fruit, sweets throughout the day. Would stay here again for the location!
- Alexa (8/5): - Good
- John (8/5): - The stay was fine. We thought it was going to be a more traditional bed and breakfast. Other than that it was fine. Got our excercise going to the third floor
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice stay. - It was ok. No pizzazz but that’s ok also. We needed a good rest and this B&B provided that.
- Maria (6/5): - The room was not what the picture show
We end up on the 3rd floor a small room, the AC was so loud we had to turn it off
Also the windows did no open, safety problem.
The location is unbeatable but the room was way to expensive for what we go, I gave 2 star for breakfast!!!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - -
- Denise (10/5): - All the years we’ve lived in NJ and been down the shore, we never stayed in Spring Lake. What a lovely surprise. The Spring Lake Inn is in the perfect location and very close to wonderful restaurants and attractions. A
- Diego (10/5): Fantastic - Wonderful amazing really lovely amazing
- Edgar (8/5): - The Spring Lake Inn is a historic property, attractive & well maintained, close to the beach. Nice continental breakfast. Staff was helpful.
It would have been nice if they had a list of good recommended restaurants in the area, with contact information. We got info from Google & Trip Advisor, but we prefer local knowledge.
The WiFi on our floor(2nd) was very spotty. I could not maintain a connection in our bedroom, with my laptop. When I went downstairs to the little living room(off the dining room) it was much better, but inconvenient.
- Kevin (10/5): Great B&B one block from the beach - Great place to stay. One block from the beach with great boardwalk. Easy walk to downtown Spring Lake and very close to St Catherine's Church.
- Henry (10/5): - Beautiful old inn. Immaculate. Not much staff around during the off-season, but breakfast was fine. Excellent coffee. On the third floor, I wished sometimes that there had been an elevator, but I took the third floor room voluntarily and knowingly.
- Inna (4/5): - Neighbors were very loud at 1-30 to 3 am, couldn't rest or sleep even though the hotel was empty but put us close to people twice. Very bad experience
- Francis (10/5): - It was spacious, quiet, and very clean. The Continental breakfast was also excellent.
- Arthur (10/5): - only thing that was uncomfortable was third floor room
- Thomas J (10/5): - Staff was friendly, breakfast and coffee had good selections
- jerry (6/5): - Property looks tired. Needs attention and freshening up
- Chris (8/5): - Wonderful location in a wonderful town. Nice bathroom, very clean and light. Bedroom was a bit dated but clean. Very comfortable over-all. But I did find the staff somewhat indifferent, not very engaging with the guests. I would expect more from a nice, homey B&B.
- James (10/5): - Great place to stay !
- Gabriel (10/5): - It was our home away from home. Andy the owner was very accommodating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Anniversary Getaway ! - Very quiet aura and quaint accommodations . We were pleased to get away and celebrate our 45th anniversary.
Plesant staff. Close to nice walk on Beach.
- Warren (10/5): - Excellent location near the beach in a very nicely kept neighborhood. The owners did a great job welcoming us and they had a very extensive breakfast buffet.
- Patrick (10/5): - Window AC noisy, old, Historic building, cozy, would stay there again
- John (10/5): - The Spring Lake Inn is absolutely beautiful! All of the staff were amazing and very friendly!! They made me feel like I was family and at home! Would absolutely recommend the Spring Lake Inn! In fact I just
got home and booked my next
stay!
- Karen (10/5): - We always stay here and have never had a bad experience! It is always clean and comfortable! Great spot at the Jersey shore!
- Patricia (8/5): Plus and Minus - Lovely location and one block from the beach. Great historic venue. Ample continental-plus breakfast.
Sadly, room was on third floor with a very steep and narrow stairway. Very challenging to get luggage up to the room. Seniors need to reconsider this accommodation if there are any issues with mobility.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very friendly, cleanliness was impeccable, the amenities was outstanding !
Can’t wait to go back next year!
- Lisa (10/5): Nice place for a getaway - Very cozy and clean, reception was warm and friendly. Beach access was close, front porch was lovely at night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was very charming. The location is great. The one thing to note is they should mention that there are flights of stairs. It was difficult for my spouse to go up to the top floor. The people were friendly. Nice breakfast. And they included beach passes. 😊 Thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fabulous time at a fabulous place!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was well maintained, neat and clean inside and out.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The breakfast was grab and run, nothing hot besides the coffee. For the money and the season the room was small (neat & clean).
- Alicia G (10/5): - This establishment is excellent in this area. The management (Andy) is very warm & accommodating to my particular business needs. I will come back to this place for any future needs. I definitely will recommend this establishment to my friends & colleagues.
- Connie (8/5): Peaceful getaway. - Cozy and very comfortable Inn. Great location. Walking distance to shops and beach. Felt safe and comfortable in this COVID-19 situation that we are in. Innkeeper takes every precaution. Was a nice getaway for my husband and I. Looking forward to staying again in the future.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place is gorgeous. Covid pre cautions all MET with little extras I noticed as well. I actually wish we could have stayed another day/night. Beautiful property, the room was adorable! We checked in late and the young man who greeted us was a pleasure.
- Marion (10/5): - True R&R getaway. Comfortable room, comfortable wide porch for curling up with a book or sipping wine before dinner, good breakfast (considering Covid restrictions), and great location. We felt confident that the Inn was meeting or exceeding special cleaning/safety regulations. Can’t beat the rejuvenating ocean air on an early fall day!
- Frank (6/5): Bed and No Breakfast - It was a Bed and No breakfast. We had what they called a grab and go breakfast. My experances with B&B have always been good and look forward to the breakfasts but this one choose to not have a breakfast. Also we should have received a discount for the Grab and go breakfast. Had to go out to get breakfast.
- Ida-Marie (10/5): - Pleasant staff, very clean. loved sitting out on the porch
- CT_Mom (10/5): - I brought my daughter there for a long weekend, in an effort to find a safe place to go to the beach during Covid 19 - and I could not have been more happy! The room and bathroom were extremely clean, charming and very comfortable (we slept very well). The breakfast was excellent and the staff was always on hand providing attentive, friendly service. The inn is steps from a large, white sandy beach that is not over crowded and the waves provided endless hours of fun. There is an outdoor shower, an ice cream shop around the corner, a huge porch to sit on in the rain or shine (we sat and watched a thunderstorm roll through), and very wide safe streets to ride bikes on (if you have a bike, you should bring it). We loved our stay and are looking forward to our next visit! Thank you for everything Spring Lake Inn!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent. Great personality. Beach tags a plus. Good parking.
- Adam (10/5): Our new - Lovely B&B. Very inviting and just steps from the beach. We’ll definitely be returning.
- Edward (10/5): erene Comfort - The Spring Lake Inn is a very good place to stay at, the only things I can recommend is that the Inn warn customers that the breakfast is a cold one, and not a hot one. The other is that some areas are in need of refurbishment. For example, the Canopy Room bathroom is in need of repainting as the ceiling is starting to flake.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to beach, helpful staff, accommodating to our needs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Would Definitely Return - Beautiful inn and only one block to the beach! The staff were bit of a ghost staff but they at least provided some afternoon snacks and beverages and a self-serve (decent) continental breakfast.
Because of Covid-19, the staff did not come into your room to make the bed and spruce it up unless you requested it. They left a laundry basket on each floor for wet towels and placed a stack of fresh towels on each floor. A bit self-serve but for obvious reasons.
If you are not fond of 3 flights of steps, make sure you call the hotel when you go to book and see which rooms are actually available. If there are only one or two rooms left, you can pretty much bet they are on the 3rd floor.
They did provide beach badges which turned out to be a saving grace. Daily badges are NOT easy to buy OR pick up. Knowing that we could use the season passes made everything that much nicer for our getaway.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Our bedding wasn’t changed and we were told by the Inn sleeper that we had to request in advance, no water available in the rooms. You can buy in the lobby
The breakfast was Cosco bought cheap unhealthy food including a large jar of skippy peanut butter Whole Foods is one mile away make an effort to give guests healthy food. $350 a night!! Not cheap. The room was clean enough. My bedding was old and looked warn. The hotels amenities were like a motel Nice warm touches would be nice like a basket of goodies in the room from local bakeries Maybe water in the fridge. I have stayed In hampton Inns with better service
The staff was rude, very unfriendly
- William (10/5): Very nice overnight stay - Very nice quaint smaller hotel. Personnel were very friendly. They had a nice continental breakfast (although we were out on bicycles and ate at an outdoor restaurant), so we didn't partake...coffee was very good!
- david (6/5): Inn is OK but please its a 5 or 6 not a 9 - Hotels.com rated it a 9?! The Inn was ok, old not updated at all but clean. Please the Inn is a 5 or 6 as there really was not any service (no service with a smile, no warm hello etc), the breakfast was like a standard industrial 1950's with skippy peanut butter, costco baked goods and tropicana oj. For $300 a night I figured couldn't they at least bake some fresh muffins each AM as its like a country Inn? Maybe its the virus but the staff was invisible although I was the housekeeping cleaning nicely in the AM. The location was fine close to the beach. The Manderian Oriental in Taipei was a 10+, the Spring Lake Inn was a 5 or 6 in comparison.
- Eileen (10/5): A much needed break from work - A delightful place to stay! Clean, neat, and everyone was wonderful, even the guests that stayed there were nice.
- Donna (10/5): Wonderful beach getaway - Excellent service! Very charming inn with a nice front porch. Wonderful location to the beach, restaurant and shopping.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The place is very clean and charming, with a nice deck. Rooms are impeccable. One block from the ocean.
They serve continental breakfast, but on a couple of occasions the owner cooked a full breakfast for us. This should be standard.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I like the old charm . However room was very weird .. felt like the floor wasn't level .. the drops in the ceiling made the room uncomfortable to walk around. The room felt way to small
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff member Trish was so helpful and accommodating!
- Loretta (10/5): - Lovely, charming, clean and super comfy.
It was a true respite for me and with family for the holidays
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place!! Lovely rooms, delicious breakfast, and very friendly staff😅 Can’t wait to return!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Victorian Inn beautifully decorated for the holidays. Warm and welcoming staff. Delicious breakfast in the sunlight dining room. A peaceful night's sleep and a walk on the boardwalk. Curative.
- Nan (10/5): - Great breakfast, friendly staff, close to the water.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Walls are very thing I could hear my neighbors snoring and talking all night
- Wendyward (10/5): - A great place to stay ! Love the rooms and the location !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to the beach. Super friendly and attentive staff. No negatives.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely breakfast room and lobby thank you for having us
- John (10/5): Nice surprise - Quiet. Convenient. Very clean and comfortable. Lady that checked me in was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. Overall, an excellent bed & breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - lovely old property with wonderful staff. not a new modern facility but that gives it charm and warmth
- BrianJCaliEsq (6/5): - You have not responded to my prior email. Originally booked for 2 days
I called Expedia and the INN and told them my plane got in after Midnight in Pa and I could not get there Friday the 27th. Both Expedia and the Inn said it was ok I would be charged only for Sat. I got to INN on Sat. and then they told me I was charged for Sat and Sunday night. I told them the story and they stared blaming Expedia. Then they were going to check with the Owner That went on for the day and next day still looking for the owner. I want to only be charged for 1 day lwhich was promised by Expedia and the INN.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Idyllic getaway - Super friendly inn-keeper, fabulous breakfasts, lovely and serene.
- Antonietta (10/5): - Wonderful stay at the Spring Lake Inn. Peaceful and relaxing and breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable and charming room, gracious hosts, short walk to ocean and lovely front porch.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Trish was especially friendly. Room amenities were great. Appreciated accommodation for alternate breakfast although portion was small. Spacious porch for reading. Only challenge was sound with barking dog next door, cars parking, people talking in hall and in next room. Warm place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Unique homey feel. Loved the french toast breakfast!
- Actress (10/5): - Trish is a FABOULOUS COOK & Person- the place is idyllic and the porch is heaven- one block from beach= THANK YOU TRISH!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Inn keeper was charming. The breakfast was delicious. Location is beautiful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the historical charm of the building and the friendliness of the inn keeper and the staff.
- Elle (10/5): - Friendly inn with charming rooms and a wide porch. One short block to the ocean. Good for singles couples and families.
- John (8/5): - Helpful and friendly staff, small but comfortable room, good breakfast,
located close to boardwalk and beach. Would love to have stayed longer than our one night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There is nothing not to like, you're one block from the beach, the front porch is amazing, it's a fantastic place. And breakfast is included!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was amazing! Only 1 block to the beach, great breakfast, great service. Highly recommend!
- Roger (8/5): - Very hospitable hosts.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was very nice and peaceful very clean..staff friendlu
- Charley (10/5): - Very nice B&B, close to beach, friendly staff. Value was good and place was clean
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The house is beautiful; the check-in and out was very nice.
- Cindy (10/5): Just Perfect!! - Just Lovely !!! I requested a cheerful room with lots of windows and I got just that & more.. A perfect view of the moon & sunrise over the ocean from my bedroom window. The hospitality was top notch, so kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious & comfortable traveling on my own. The front porch was the perfect spot to have an evening snack. Quick walk to the beach with provided chairs, towel, beach tag what more could you ask for. Thank you so much Spring Lake Inn for a perfect overnight.
- Kenneth (10/5): Enjoyable stay at the beach - Spring Lake Inn was very nice. It has character, but with modern convenience. One block to the beach and they provide badges, chairs, and towels. Breakfast was delicious. We only stayed one night, but had no complaints and would definitely come back for a longer stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This property has a great location to the beach and friendly staff. Reasonably priced.
- Kathleen (10/5): Gracious and Lovely - Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Inn is immaculate.
I didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The inn was in a great location to the Beach and the center of town. The staff were very courteous and professional. It was perfect for our mini vacation trip. Hope to return soon.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A little too pricey for an ok B&B - The room was very clean (accept for a very large bug we found), comfortable and pretty. The breakfast was not impressive compared to many other B&B's we have stayed in. Still it was a very peaceful atmosphere.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sometimes a B and B looks better online than when you get there but that wasn't the case with the Spring Lake Inn. It was so pretty and clean - and smelled beautiful! The staff is really friendly and the breakfast was awesome: cinnamon french toast was amazing. We stayed on the third floor in a room with a little bit of water view, just enough that we could see the sun rising over the ocean while lying in the extremely comfy bed. The flight up to the third floor is a bit steep so if this is an issue for you make sure you don't book on the top floor. They were very accommodating and let us use facilities even after we checked out: we really appreciated the outdoor shower after a day at the beach before getting into the car for our ride home. We will definitely return to the Spring Lake Inn and highly recommend: lastly, the location, one block from the beach pavilion and the Sundae Times, can't be beat!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly service, great complimentary breakfast,
Close to beach
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was wonderful, but I am 70 years and was on the 3rd floor. Two long flights of stairs and no elevatorof course because it would be totally out of place. Other than that, which was not really a big deal, my stay was wonderful. Excellent location, breakfast, and staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The air conditioning noise at night kept us awake many times during our stay. Also the stairs were quite steep to the third floor. A wall angle in the room could be a safety hazard on your head, if not carefully walking towards a the side window. Finally we didn’t find adequate space to place our things.
- Janey (10/5): Fabulous! - So beautiful, comfortable, and quaint! We loved it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Our stay at the Spring Lake Inn was wonderful. From check in to check out Trish and the staff were more than helpful. Our room was spacious and immaculate. Can’t wait to go back!
- William (10/5): A perfect get away - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay it was so relaxing and friendly. The manager, Trish, went out of way to make it even better. We’ll definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super clean throughout. Breakfast was great and staff really nice. It was a bit expensive but would probably stay here again if in the area.
- Joe (10/5): - Staff was very friendly. Facility was very clean. We would stay there again.
- Valerie (10/5): Anniversary trip - Wonderful experience great location and personable service
