• Giorgio (7/5): - The breakfast is freshly made. Friendly personnel. Pictures of the property are kind of misleading, so I assume the experience greatly depends on the room one is given. The inn is actually located on a main street with a gas station in front, and one on the side. Definitely not the best part of the town. Our rooms was pretty small, with no space or piece of furniture in the bathroom to lay anything on. Rooms are also arranged on one level as a cloister, so depending on where you are, people will pass by your window. In general, this place seems in need of a major update.

• edw303 (10/5): A Very Nice Stay. - I spent an ideal night in The Buckeye Room (#26). It was clean and very quiet, perfect for a good sleep. It's easy to see that a lot of love has gone into this inn. The low fee for my room included a made to order breakfast. It was lovely. I was met with a friendly welcome from Kate and treated with great respect. I will happily return to the Mount Vernon Inn again soon.

• etienne (10/5): - The staff was definitely the shining star of this establishment. They went above and beyond without me even asking for a thing. The room were large, but the toilet location in my room was very oddly located. It was tucked 90 degrees off from the sink so that when you sat down on it, you could rest your arms on the side of the sink. Wasn't a problem for me, but a larger guest might have difficulties. Nothing bad, just something to note. Everything was clean, the garden courtyard was pleasant and the outdoor chairs and tables were appreciated.
• hiker017 (6/5): Just okay - My husband and I, along with three friends, stayed at The Mt. Vernon Inn a couple of weeks ago during a bike trip on the Ohio to Erie Trail. While the inn itself is fine, I didn't feel like the staff was all that friendly, and our room actually was actually smaller than it appeared in the pictures online. We thought the breakfast was fine, and the outdoor garden area seating was very nice. Not sure I'd stay here again, though.
• Wayne (10/5): - A super-cute vintage cottage style inn. At first glance it might appear like a roadside motel, but once on the property the charms wipes away that image. All rooms are on a single level with exterior entrance. The courtyard outside the rooms is landscaped nicely, with a stone path to get through. The main building hosts the front desk as well as the lounge area. In the evening you can relax in there with a glass of wine, and in the morning is an excellent fresh fruit buffet and coffee. You then get to choose a traditional breakfast item from the menu, which is then made to order. The food and coffee were excellent and the staff could not have been kinder. The "hotel room" felt more like a bedroom. Aged sturdy furniture and a comfortable bed made you feel more like you were visiting someone's home. The Inn was established in 1955, so it is not the sterile wallpaper and plastic that makes up most hotels these days. It is old and clean and a truley wonderful place to spend an evening or 2.

Service was excellent! Parking perfect - off the road but right behind the rooms for convenience, well lit and clearly marked. I will definitely come back to this gem in the future!

Downside: overpriced considering the small, not well-lit, inexpensively appointed rooms. Not much privacy/space between the window and people walking by unless the louvered shade was down & closed.

I really loved having some private-feeling cafe tables available in the courtyard, where I could eat my lunch and get some work done. The heating and air conditioning unit worked, but was somewhat loud. Not a deal-breaker, though.

• Global31206113351 (10/5): pampered - Attention All Book Clubs! Please consider a book club meeting and stay at the lovely Mount Vernon Inn in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Our hosts Jess, Kate, and Betsy couldn’t have been more accommodating; they were very kind and friendly. Our thanks to them for their hospitality. (Turns out they are avid readers too.) The ground-level rooms are grouped around a garden paradise which provided a restful and beautiful place to sit together and talk. (Multi-room suites, houses and off-site apartments for short-and long-term stay, as well.) Also facing the garden is a dining room where a made-to-order breakfast is served as part of the reasonable room charge. We also held our group’s book selection process for the 2025-2026 academic school year in the dining area. Betsy offered us coffee, tea, scones, and chocolate chip cookies. But we were welcome to bring our own snacks too. We had a wonderful time and encourage book clubs (or other groups looking for a similar opportunity) to book the Mount Vernon Inn for a fun and engaging experience.

• 480MichaelW (2/5): Terrible staff - We called and booked a room for a meeting my wife had. The 48 hour cancellation clause was explained to us but we were not offered any trip insurance. Unfortunately, my wife's meeting was postponed due to inclement weather the evening prior to our stay. We called immediately and was told sorry they would charge us anyway. We offered to move the date because we were coming over in June. They would not budge. Called later in the week to speak to the manager and was given the same answer and was told we should have taken the trip insurance even though it was never offered. Bottom line, got charged 116.00 for a room I never checked into because Mother Nature and bad roads did not give me 48 hours notice. I guess we were supposed drive on hazardous roads to fulfill their 48 hour cancellation notice clause.

We also happen to be in a room right by all the Christmas lights so the lights shined in our room through the window by the bed that was frosted with no blinds. • Craig (10/5): - This old Motor court from the 50's has been lovingly transformed into a unique garden spot. Host is lovely and makes a great breakfast (which is included) and the whole experience makes you feel welcome and comfortable.
• Edward (10/5): Great place all around - We were welcomed by Alex, who made us feel at home. She was very helpful with knowledge of the Restaurants nearby. She told us bikes were welcome to and provided a number of places that we could keep them overnight. We asked for rags to wipe down our bicycles. She dropped them off just a couple of minutes later. The dining room staff at our server very nice and efficient. The food is very good. We especially liked the menu and made to order breakfast chocolate chip cookies, and the offer of a glass of wine A nice touch as was the beautiful and well-maintained garden.

Every area was very clean and well maintained. Located close to the center of town. I would definitely book this Inn again.
• dpietrowicz (10/5): Perfect stop for cyclists doing the OTET route - This is a top notch hotel/B&B. The gardens are incredible, the rooms somewhat dated (the place has operated since 1955) but clean and comfortable. We arrived after cycling 50 hot and humid miles and were greeted with cold water, cookies and an ice cold beer! Breakfast was incredible with choice of entree, fruit, juices, hot coffee, muffins and more. Highly recommended
• Marney (10/5): We enjoyed our stay and would book again. - Breakfast was great, staff was very friendly. The garden/ outside areas were beautiful. The rooms were not fancy, but clean. Price was great. The bathroom vanity/ toilet area was cramped. I wish there were more towel bars or hooks for wet towels. The shower is quite large, but there was no shelf for soap/ shampoo in the shower.

• 564jamesz (10/5): Always a great stay! - I have stayed at the Mt. Vernon Inn many times with family and friends over the past 15 or more years. Family owned and operated, friendly staff and very accommodating. Always spotlessly clean and the breakfast is excellent. Some really good restaurants nearby as well. I'll be back next year!

• W7357UHthomasg (8/5): Nice place! - Charming old Inn, clean and comfortable. Staff is friendly and the included breakfast was delicious. Rooms were small but sufficient. We traveled by bike and secure storage was available to keep the bikes out of the rooms. Within walking distance of nice downtown area including shops and restaurants.
