Guest Reviews
- John (8/5): - We enjoyed it very much, the scenery is wonderful. We have stayed before and returned as we enjoyed the food last time. We did feel the dinners we had were not a patch on last time sadly.
The breakfasts were great though.
The staff are great and tried hard to make our stay good, including a super speedy breakfast on our final day!
- KATHLEEN (10/5): - Lovely spot great views over Loch Tummel Friendly staff
- Andrea (10/5): - Cosy room, fab breakfast and super friendly, welcoming hosts. The snug and library are lovely touches. Our stay was amazing, we had a wonderful time and will be back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The accommodation offered stunning views of the loch, complemented by a comfortable bed and delicious food. However, I recommend being cautious when making your reservations. Ensure you take a screenshot of your booking confirming the inclusion of a free breakfast, as we were informed after our evening meal that it wasn’t included, resulting in an additional on top of the £200 room rate we already paid through hotels.com. This felt quite unfair, especially since we work in the same industry and understand what should be included.
Moreover, our dinner bill amounted to £270, which covered a two-course meal for two at £50, along with an extra course and drinks, plus the unexpected £20pp for breakfast that the waiter informed us about at the end of the night. Pay close attention to your bill; a 12.5% service charge was added to our food costs, which we were unaware of. I’ve researched service charges, and this fee is optional if you choose to decline it, but we only learned about this the next day while reviewing the bill. It’s crucial to be aware of service fees, as they should be optional if communicated clearly. When we contacted the owner, we were told did you read the fine print on the menu. Additionally, we noticed a £1.50 charge for bacon that we did not order. While this could have been a simple mistake, owner offered 1.50 refund and a £30 voucher but we did not reply it was an insult. I am not one to leave a negative review but feel it’s only fair to be honest.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Stunning location - Such a warm welcome from the owner was much appreciated. Only stayed one night and had the best sleep in a long time; the bed was really comfy and location was very peaceful at night. The room looked onto the loch and beyond to the hills which was the highlight of our stay. Dinner was a set 2 or 3 course meal and absolutely delicious, especially the steak and venison dishes. Views of the loch were stunning and a perfect location to visit the beautiful surrounding area - Queen’s View is a must. Definitely a place to relax and soak in the views.
- FRANCOIS (10/5): - Tout à fait charmant, et romantique .Personnel et propriétaire charmant ,plein d’humour et disponible.
Le seul hic c’est qu’il est impossible d’y prendre une marche.

- Dominic (10/5): Fabulous Inn set in an incredible location - The Inn is in the most incredible location on the Loch with uninterrupted views of the hills beyond. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and cannot do enough for his guests. The bedroom was lovely with the amazing views and a wee dram and fudge to welcome us. The food is fabulous (albeit a little expensive) and there is a separate cosy lounge with books and games as you sit by a roaring fire. It is peaceful and an absolute delight.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good excellent friendly owners abd very dog friendly. Really good food.
- Amy (10/5): The best "place" in Scotland - When we were traveling between Edinburgh and the Isle of Skye, we searched for the perfect spot to stay en route and found The Inn at Loch Tummel. What we didn't know was that it would turn out to be the perfect place in Scotland. Everything that we experienced at this inn was better than we could have anticipated. The exact perfect balance of charm and character of centuries past, while at the same time being completely contemporary, modern, and unpretentious. The food was exceptional and that is high praise since we had just had lunch the day before at The Kitchin, a Michelin-starred restaurant outside Edinburgh. The bar at the inn presented itself in the same fashion, very cool, charming with unbelievably attentive service. We had drinks at the bar and then walked outside the inn into a parklike setting that overlooks Loch Tummel with tables, umbrellas, and an extraordinarily beautiful small garden where the vegetables for the restaurant are harvested daily. But the single most extraordinary thing about this gem of an inn are the proprietors, Jade and April, along with their young son Selby, who were fun, hip, and wonderfully personable. They were incredibly accommodating as we arrived late due to a flat tire only to find a bottle of wine and a lovely fire in the fireplace waiting for us. On our next trip to Scotland we will make The Inn at Loch Tummel the center of our trip.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, good food, wonderfully friendly and helpful owner and staff - ideal for a few days to unwind, enjoy the views, walks and history of the area - then sample the local brewery range and a very reasonable wine list
- Catherine (10/5): Fabulous find! - #TheseAreTheDays #Scotland #theinnatlochtummel #simplythebest gorgeous rooms, fabulous location, amazing views, a great team, awesome food & wine, the BEST BREAKFASTS in a stunning breakfast room #highlyrecommended
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Dyrt!
Fin udsigt - hvis ikke man har et værelse i stueplan og kigger ud på vejen.
Tidligst morgenmad kl 8:30 - alt for sent. Og så skulle man på forhånd vælge hvad man ville have og kunne ikke umiddelbart få mere.
Ingen andre steder at spise aftensmad i nærheden - man er nærmest tvangsindlagt på hotellets ret dyre restaurant
- Rosemary (10/5): Fabulous doggy friendly hotel - Fabulous stay! If you have a dog this is a must stay with your furbaby. Very doggy friendly, clean relaxed and homely stay. Decor is just lovely, food is good although could do with a few extra choices. Beautiful accommodation in beautiful scenery with excellent service. You can ask for any more!! We’ll done to the team at Inn on Loch Tummel!
- Michael (10/5): Highland Gem - This hotel is in a stunning location & the staff are really friendly. The food is good quality and well cooked and the service is great. The hotel is dog friendly which was important for our visit.
- Derek (8/5): - Nicely situated for exploring the local area and the Inn commands beautiful views over the Loch.
Things to note, no TV in room and limited hours serving meals.
- Linda (10/5): Beautiful location - Mentioned arriving with two large dogs beforehand and we were put into a very large room - access required more stairs than other rooms, but that worked in with the beautifully quirky refurbishment. Location fronts onto the road, but then overlooks the wonderful views. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent and staff caring an attentive, but not intrusive. Dogs made very welcome too (though not ideal for walking them in the immediate vicinity as on the main road - but plenty of longer walks locally!). Particularly calming and relaxed place ‘to be’.
- Sandeep (10/5): Boutique hotel nestled in Perthshire - This is simply a gorgeous boutique, family owned and run hotel. It’s a few miles from picturesque Pitlochry but has its own charm and stunning views of Loch Tummel. As a renovated Inn, the building’s function is still to replenish the needs of those that pass by, so you can can drop by for breakfast and dinner. However, with a few rooms, if you want to stay you will need to book well in advance to experience how this family has restored these original buildings and renovated the interior with local products and services, from the breakfast, decor, to the beer!
We arrived weary from a 12 day driving tour around the highlands to be welcomed by a garden that overlooks the loch. The dinner menu was bursting with local produce, and so was the breakfast. They effortlessly catered for my dairy and gluten free needs too.
If you get the chance, don’t hesitate to book your stay. We will be back for sure. It was a perfect way for us to end our Scotland holiday.
- FIONA (8/5): Cosy loch view - Very welcoming, with a team of whisky and tablet in the room. Soft beds, cosy interiors. Only downside was policy of allowing dogs all over, including breakfast room. If you're not allergic, this may be a benefit instead.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful view - A wonderful getaway: great hosts, very tasty food, amazing indoor design, lovely guest gift (incl. Whisky!!! and homemade whiskey fudge), an absolutely astonishing view at Loch Tummel, a well equipped library and games like backgammon - overall a place to recommend and to visit again. Definitely!
- Martin (10/5): Two nights at The Inn - Beautiful hotel in the most beautiful of locations. Made to feel very welcome by the fantastic hosts and hotel team, nothing was too much trouble.
Great food with some fine flavours going on... the Puy Lentil & Fennel starter particularly delicious!
We loved our room, finished to a very high standard. All elements coming together to create a luxurious and elegant comfort.
Thank you!
- raymond (8/5): Lovely old inn with superb views. - Had a fab night of peace and quit during Guy Fox night with our dog, the hosts Jade and Alice were very nice and accomodating.Fab location and veiws of the loch and hills.
A bit pricey for the wine £11.50 for a 175ml glass pinot grigio! better with a bottle.
- Kirsty (10/5): Highly recommend staying here. - Had a wonderful stay, accomodation was lovely and had incredible views, the owners were really friendly and helpful and the food was great.
