Guest Reviews
Colazione standard.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing stay - No hot water, no sleep from noise of neighbors all night long till early morning, No restaurant food available from menu, ran out of all items on menu, had to order al a carte rice and tofu only, very expensive, room very overrated and extremely expensive. Next time we stay at Moni, closer to Kelimutu, way less expensive, more restaurants for food.
There was no option to drive to another restaurant for meals from the eco lodge. For the price we paid, we expected stellar service, we got far less than stellar service.
- Kristy (4/5): Stunning scenery spoiled by disgusting room - Expensive, overpriced, and the dirtiest place I stayed anywhere in Indonesia. So disappointing because the grounds are spotlessly and meticulously maintained. It makes no sense as to why everything in the room was so disgustingly dirty. I understand this is a rural/developing area and for only a one-night stay, hotel staff may be tempted to skip on changing bed linens, but it was obvious that the sheets on this bed had not been changed in a LONG time. The bedspread was covered in stains and had something (??) caked on it (mud, poop?) and so did the seat cushions. Half the chairs (bamboo cane chairs) had no cushions at all and glasses in the bathroom were covered in smudges, prints and dirt. Even the mosquito netting looked like someone had squirted a bottle of ketchup all over it and left it to dry. I will not even talk about the sheets. The hotel restaurant only had one option for dinner (a set menu but were willing to accommodate dietary needs) however the charge (not listed) was more than twice as much as I paid anywhere in Indonesia. The food was decent but a complete rip off. Almost $20 for 1 person -some rice, veggies and 1 beer. Accommodations were also overpriced given typical pricing for the area. They have a monopoly on the tiny town close to a major tourist attraction, so it is obvious the hotel management is just relying on that and could care less about providing anything of value to customers. Such a shame given the friendly staff and beautiful grounds.
