- 910karrena (4/5): Costly Reservation Problem with Grand Hotel Telese - I was invited to a destination wedding at the Grand Hotel Telese in Telese Terme about an hour away from Naples, Italy, in August 2025. I went to their website to reserve 2 rooms, a single for me and a triple for my son and 2 grandsons thinking we would stay 3 nights. Plans changed and I wanted to revise the reservation for these two rooms for only one night. We planned to spend the other 2 nights in Naples. It turned out that my reservations did not go through the hotel but through a third party where the stay had to be paid for in advance. The third party was Booking.com. They told me to cancel the reservation and get a new reservation. I canceled and got cancellation confirmation numbers. One room was fully refunded but not the other. When I called to get this mistake corrected, Booking.com said the matter was completely up to the Grand Hotel Telese. I called GHT and they said to call Booking.com. I asked to speak to the hotel manager who dodged my repeated calls. I blame GHT for not representing me to their contractor to get my money refunded. I am also sure that the hotel employees knew when I arrived that I had a booking for three rooms: the one night for a single and for a triple plus the three nights for the single Booking.com claimed I never cancelled. Not only did I try to get GHT and Booking.com to refund my money (which was just under $500) but a concierge service that I engaged to help me (with rebooking at GHT and meeting my other hotel needs for that trip) also tried for weeks to talk to the GHT manager. He refused to make himself available.

- lillanita_2025 (6/5): Nicer in the pictures than in reality - The main building is stately and beautiful as the pictures show. The surroundings are noisy with a busy road and the location is not as scenic as the website illustrates. We were welcomed by a nice receptionist who did not speak English. Therefore, we were not explained that we had to reserve a table in the restaurant for dinner. So, we did not have a pleasant dining experience. When we asked the receptionist (a different one) if it was possible to have room service, he said that it was not possible. When we asked why we had not been made aware that we had to reserve a table for dinner, he questioned this, said that it was routine for everyone to receive this message upon arrival, as if we were lying. It felt undignified and was a not very pleasant experience. We had to drive down to the city and finally found a pizza restaurant. The spa department is old but the massage session was excellent with a good masseuse. We suppose to have a robe in our Superior room, no robes where found, so we thought we might get those in the Spa. But, we did not. She told us to talk to the reception, but after the unpleasant experience last night, we did not want to. The outdoor pool was closed when we arrived, so unfortunately we were not able to use it. The entire facility except for the mainbuilding is ready for a makeover. As for service, we will give the hotell just 2 stars.

- Luke (10/5): Pleasant stay - Travelling for a wedding that took place at this hotel. Booked for 5 nights, beautiful hotel, comfortable room and outstanding service. Rooms are basic which is expected in this part of Italy, no kettle or tea and coffee available in room however comfortable bed, clean and ideal for what we needed. Fantastic spa and pool facilities. Would book again when visiting family. Supermarket and town a short drive away but too far to walk so would recommend car rental.

- June1966 (10/5): Great Hotel to stay. Especially for special occasions and events. - Excellent Hotel for events. We attended a family wedding held here. Everything you could ever wish for. Beautiful grounds, Hotel, professional and attentive staff. Clean rooms. All areas are huge. They utilise everything they have to make your stay special. Well run hotel. A special mention about Archangel. This man is exceptional at his job. Extremely hardworking, pulled everything together to make the events happen. 5 stars plus!! Also Salvatore in the restaurant. Nothing too much trouble. Very polite and friendly. Made us feel very welcome.

Camere abbastanza pulite ma con necessario bisogno di essere ristrutturate .

- Aceil (10/5): - Where to begin? The hotel is beautiful, which retains many of the original features. Furniture is sympathetic to the era - so don't expect perfection. Vincenzo is the best hotelier we've ever come across, he is knowledgable, empathetic and a credit to the hotel. On his recommendations we did a number of activities locally, and it absolutely made our holiday. Breakfast is good, the room is fine especially given the price per night and the pool/wellness is delightful - with extremely attentive staff. There is a smell, which people have pointed out, but this is Telese terme water which is meant to be good for your skin - regardless, it is a cold plunge pool which is nice in the heat. The only thing that irked me was the swim hats, but here's your notice. Otherwise it is a short drive away from a number of lovely villages, eateries and attractions.

This year we found a big improvement and we loved more especially to have breakfast in the lovely garden.
- thierry (6/5): Rooms Ok, staff bored, breakfast not enough - Generally staff looks like bored if not unhappy. They definitely don't really care of clients. Breakfast is install once, if you come later, you take what ever remains, the buffets are not reloaded Restaurant is not good, we had the 25 euros pizza menu, Wednesday is pizza day. Pizza was 'ot cooked enough, the beer was 25cl and not good, dessert was industrial. Too expensive menu should' ot be more that 18 euros for such basic food. We requested mosquito candle, they had no. More while one table had 2?. Room. Is ok. swimming pool and club is nice but why people are smoking around the pool when I am swimming? Sports club where it is allowed to smoked is crazy.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Sconsigliato - La struttura dall' esterno è elegante e accattivante, dotata oltretutto di comodo parcheggio interno che mi ha indotto a consigliarla anche al collega con cui avrei lavorato l'indomani. Purtroppo le camere non sono all' altezza delle apparenze esterne, anzi versano in condizioni che nemmeno negli ostelli si dovrebbero trovare. Le camere sono piuttosto datate ma il vero problema è la scarsa manutenzione: bagni con muffe, scrostature e ruggine in più punti. Box doccia fatiscente e con scarico intasato. La receptionist, con molta poca professionalità, mi risponde impropriamente che purtroppo alcune camere sono "in ristrutturazione" e quando le chiedo perché non ci avesse dato una camera non "in ristrutturazione" risponde di non averne altre disponibili (cosa da me prontamente smentita visto che sul portale alle ore 23 me ne risultavano disponibili ben 9). Da professionista che viaggia continuamente per lavoro ho trovato questa permanenza (oltretutto neanche economica) a dir poco indecente, e ho provato imbarazzo anche per aver consigliato l'hotel al collega. La ciliegina sulla torta: la piscina è a pagamento se si arriva la sera e la si vuole utilizzare la mattina, anche utilizzandola solo per mezz'ora prima di fare il checkout. Qui il cliente è solo un mezzo per far soldi, pazienza se non lo si accontenta e lo si accomoda tra muffe e ruggine, in camere da ristrutturare, l'importante è che paghi! Da evitare.

- LuciAA405 (10/5): Truly taken care of - We had a very good stay at the Grand Hotel. The park and swimming pool are immaculate and properly manned. The view from our room was charming. The food and drinks were top notch level. What made the experience special , though, was the perfect mix between friendliness and professionalism of the staff.

Unfortunately the bed we had must have been from the same period too. It was hard and horribly uncomfortable. This resulted in a poor nights sleep. There was peculiar sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Fortunately we were able to keep the window open all night. There’s a big beautiful courtyard in the front - so if you like to sleep in ask for a back facing room

Camera "superior" vorrà pur dire qualcosa ed invece ci è stata assegnata una camera sicuramente "inferior", abbastanza angusta, con affaccio sulla copertura del salone dedicato alla colazione e nessun panorama. Essere in un Hotel con parco e non vedere il parco è semplicemente ridicolo. Cene da truppa militare, pietanze precotte ed ivi i primi piatti. Chek in ore 14 di venerdì chek out ore 10 di domenica, ma se volevamo usufruire ancora della piscina avremmo dovuto pagare ... ma la metà! Personale eccellente, disponibile, cortese.
- Vivian (10/5): Hotel Grand Telese has charm - We needed to change rooms due to the bathroom difficulty to shower and they charged us an additional 20 euro. The hotel was basically empty. We are repeat customers there so no reason for this type of charge. In addition my family hosted a large breakfast event there with 50 people! Not the way to treat repeat customers.

- ME (8/5): - Beautiful hotel with much old world character. Some areas of the hotel were under refurbishment (gym, updating a wing). Staff assistance was very good. Disappointment with room temperature during entire stay even though we asked for air conditioning to be adjusted. It never was and we slept fitfully the first night. After purchasing a fan for ourselves, we were more comfortable but not satisfied. Overall, it was a good stay and would return again.
