Guest Reviews
- Niven (8/5): - The Cottage delivered more than what I had anticipated. It was clean, impeccably so and adequately furnished. If you are looking for a quiet get away this may not be ideal as the main road is incredibly busy and loud, so NO fault on the side of The Cottage. I would recommend it and will certainly consider it the next time I visit Chichester.
- Thomas (10/5): - This was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. Close to cafes and shops and a warm welcome.
- Kalvert (10/5): Homley stay, clean and does the job. - Nice little accommodation, it’s on the main road and parking is available but tight!
The B&B is by the hospital so road is busy but didn’t cause many issues. The room was clean, nice size and seemed to have had all the basics and a traditional homely feel. Host was lovely, really friendly and helpful.
I only stayed 1 night and arrived in the evening and left early morning so didn’t have the optional paid for breakfast at £9.00 I think.
- Richard (10/5): - Very pleasant host very friendly and helpful breakfast good
Not much parking on premises but we were able to park in the industrial area which was only couple mins walk
- Kirsty (10/5): - Lovely host. The bed was amazing. Very homely
- Hrishikesh (8/5): - Pretty small room but super clean and friendly staff
- Toby (10/5): - Clean and comfortable. Host was helpful.
- Celia (10/5): - Excellent value for money, highly recommended.
- John (10/5): - Nice people
- Raymond (8/5): - Not easy to park car
- Anna Caroline (10/5): - The owners were able to let us in early. They provided information that we asked for. The room was spacious and very clean, with an enormous bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, enabling us to have a very good nights sleep. Breakfast was simple, but very good.
If we are in this area again we will certainly book into The Cottage again.
- Haydon (10/5): - What a brilliant stay, it was a lovely property very well presented with brilliant amenities. The host was absolutely lovely and the room was spotless. Couldn’t be happier.
- Greg (10/5): - Clean and pleasant room which was ideal for a short stay.
- Zofia (8/5): - Everything was pretty good, just bathroom at our room was so tiny and not really comfortable to use
- Jeanette (10/5): - Made to feel welcome. Cosy room very clean
- Matthew (10/5): - Very comfortable and well located. Would certainly stay again.
- Glenndon (6/5): - Old school English b n’ b. Room was perfectly comfortable and right for the price.
- Paul (8/5): - Basic but clean. No whistles, no bells, but nothing bad to report
- Andrea (8/5): - Super little gem tucked away on the main road close to Chichester town centre. Spotlessly clean with lovely, friendly hosts. Would thoroughly recommend
- S (8/5): - Clean and comfortable Welcoming hosts Convenient for stay Would stay again
- Gary (10/5): - Easy to find & comfy beds
- Christopher (10/5): Very good - Pleasant welcome from the host on arrival. Room was clean and comfortable. Perfect for a one night stay at reasonable cost.
- Peter (10/5): - Only a brief visit to see Oliver at CFT, let’s just say the accommodation was better than the show!
- Steve (10/5): - A lovely property run by lovely people. Simple, but enough. Would love to stay again.
- Misbah (10/5): - Really impressive place to stay, calm and quiet area with easy access to other parts of Chichester. Definitely visit again
- Jan (6/5): Basic room at a reasonable cost - A very old fashioned, basic twin. Well worn beds (but we slept), tiny telly that was difficult to view by both occupants (terrestrial only), a minimal tea tray, no glasses in the room or bathroom. Bathroom was well equipped with hand hold in bath and safety mat. Parking was tricky but we could park. The walk into town was flat and doable and for the cost it was fine. The lady we met was very pleasant. We didn’t ask for breakfast.
- Sandra (8/5): Lovely stay. - Nice clean room, friendly hosts, comfortable bed, good shower. Had everything you need. We were there during the mini heat wave so were grateful for the fan provided. Full cooked breakfast was available, but we weren't able to partake. 20 mins walk to the city centre for shopping, cafes, etc.
- David (10/5): A great find - I stayed alone due to attending an early running event the following morning.
I was warmly greeted by the host upon arrival and immediately shown my room which was clean and comfortable. There was a chair, a TV and tea making facilities with an ensuite shower room. The bed was very comfortable and helped deliver a good sleep. Highly recommended, I'll happily return next time I'm in the area.
- Jacqueline (6/5): Better if not bringing a car - Our room was fine, spacious bathroom and excellent cleanliness. However, for anyone arriving by car, I have to mention that the parking at the property is really difficult and very awkward, especially if you are not the only guest who has brought a car.
We did not experience any issues with road noise that some others have mentioned - although the road gets extremely busy during day time, it was reasonably quiet at night.
- Dominic (8/5): - The room was a little dated but clean and roomy , very hospitable and helpful owners. I would definitely return.
- Michelle (8/5): - It was nice
- Bea (10/5): A home from home - I really enjoyed my stay. I was greeted warmly and had everything I needed including a nice selection of teas and coffee. Facilitates in good condition etc. Thank you very much
- Nicola (10/5): - Loved my stay here. Affordable, homely touches, and super convenient for the big supermarkets and for the university. I've found a new favourite!
- Jayne (10/5): - Couldnt have been more helpful
- Noni (8/5): - Was a good location - wifi & tv a bit sketchy and room was compact but otherwise good.
- Anne (8/5): - A comfortable room with all necessary facilities. About 10 minutes walk away from the centre of Chichester, cathedral and restaurants etc.
- David (10/5): - Felt very welcome on arrival. Room/property was clean and comfortable. Very good value for money.
- Mike (10/5): - The hosts are lovely. Check in was instant and we were made to feel very welcome from the start. We were there for 3 nights. The property is very convenient and is within easy walking distance to town and restaurants, bars etc. The room was immaculate and was serviced daily.
I would, without a doubt recommend, this B&B to anyone and would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.
Oh, and the cooked breakfast was superb!
- Barry (6/5): - Parking spaces limited.
- Ken (10/5): Probably closest to Goodwood... recomended! - Clean, very well presented and great value
- Allan (10/5): - We had a great stay in the cottage. Within walking distance to the town centre which was so handy.
We had a great night's sleep and we were made to feel very welcome.
Highly recommended.
- Irene (10/5): Nice B&B - This was a room in a private home but with all the room amenities you would expect in a hotel at half the price. I had, what used to be, the family bathroom which was large and roomy.
Lynne, the owner was friendly and welcoming.
There was a supermarket and Harvester nearby for evening meal or breakfast if you were room only.
- Grace (8/5): - It's good B&B. The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable. The place is clean and tidy. About 20 minutes walk to Town.
- Ruki (8/5): - Hosts were flexible with the checking in time (for a specific purpose), and a good (vegetarian) breakfast.
- Caroline (8/5): - This is a very clean and cozy place to stay if you just want to reflect and relax by yourself.
I appreciated the folder of leaflets of places to visit in the area.
A good cooked breakfast cost an extra £7, and apart from check-in, it was the only time I saw the owners. I didn’t ask whether the lounge at the back was their own private room or for guests to use as well.
I had the very front room (4) next to the road, with its constant stream of traffic; a reminder that life goes on even after my bereavement.
The shower and toilet in this room are squeezed into a small space and they would be difficult to use if you are tall or large.
Parking, and unloading luggage, at the property is difficult. There are 2 tandem spaces on the narrow driveway and one parking space parallel to the front of the cottage, making it especially awkward if you have mobility issues. I did park for free on Church Road, a short walk away.
There are also 2 supermarkets and a restaurant nearby.
- Angela (10/5): - Beautiful, clean spacious room and bathroom. Happy to help you but also gave you your own space.
- Ian (10/5): Home from home - Excellent accommodation at a very reasonable price. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed. I’ll definitely be back
- Dean (10/5): - Very clean lovely host’s very comfortable bed . Overall a nice place to stay
- Tom (8/5): Friendly and central. - Only there for a brief time but very friendly. Located close to the city centre so no taxis needed. When in the area again would definitely use again.
- Elaine (10/5): - Conveniently situated, clean, quiet and I could come and go as I liked with ease. The proprietor was helpful
- brian (10/5): - Simple B&B , old property in very sensible condition.
- Edward (8/5): Overall … okay - Overall a good stay. The room was small, but spotlessly clean. Walls were thin hence noisy 4am returnee guests could be heard. However, the owners were friendly, helpful and made a real effort. It’s budget, bear that in mind and all will be well.
- Ben (6/5): - Our bedroom was right beside a busy road making sleep very difficult. The bathroom was tiny with litle room to move.
Our hostess was friendly and helpful however.
Difficult to spot The Cottage on first arrival after dark and parking far from ideal.
- Chris (10/5): Very tidy - Really nice little room, very clean and tidy.
- Mary (8/5): - for covid related reasons we didn't get breakfast. It was a very small hotel, very clean, with comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and comfortable, friendly hosts. Parking a little limited.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice cosy accommodation and host. Lovely breakfast. Quite a long walk into the town centre. Otherwise fine.
- Michaela (10/5): Great place to stay - We loved our room in The Cottage, It was spotless with huge sparkling bathroom. The owners are lovely and very helpful. Happy in all aspects.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly welcome. Room also very clean. We thought that it would be noisy because of traffic, but in fact it was fine during the night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lynn& Arthur were very helpful & accommodating. Room is small but bed was very comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well appointed and very helpful and friendly hosts. Very much recommend.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was very clean, but our room was very noisy , front of house on busy road
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice property and pleasant hosts. Very comfortable and spotless. A little small though with traffic noise from road. Also tight for parking. Great breakfast !
- Rebecca flute (8/5): Over night stay in Chichester - Very easy booking. Was able to check in early. Bed and pillows very comfortable.
