Amy (5/5): Disappointing - Great location We had to wait at the front desk several minutes before being checked in, during which time two separate employees were near us, and didn’t even acknowledge our existence. Breakfast was 30 minutes late, the ice machine on our floor was broken, and the pool looked gross so the kids didn’t swim in it.

alfred (7/5): Other than the heater not working correctly, the stay would have been excellent - It was good. The heater was not working properly my room stay cold. They try fixing it several times, but it kept blowing out cold air.

Manfred (7/5): Im Großen und Ganzen war das Hotel so in Ordnung - Zimmer sehr groß, schön und neu eingerichtet Die Fenster im Hotel lassen sich nicht öffnen, es wird ausschließlich über die Klimaanlage gelüftet. Beim Frühstück gab es kein Porridge, obwohl die Schüssel da stand. Sie wurde an dem Tag wohl nicht befüllt.

Twobings (4/5): Lobby odor & room smell - There is an odd smell in the lobby. Perhaps mildew from the pool or being close to the lake. Unfortunately, the air quality in our room was bad especially when the air conditioner turned on.
F9235RFamyb (4/5): Poor Air Quality - Upon pulling into the parking lot, the hotel seemed typical of a HI Express & the location was ideal. When I smelled what seemed to be mildew in the lobby, wet should have left. We thought maybe it was limited to the lobby because of the pool or moisture from being near the lake. Overnight, the air quality in our room was poor. I noticed it increased each time the a/c kicked on. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

mjbbowls (10/5): Clean and easy - The front desk person was nice and friendly. Even though there was a chalk board with all the info, he still gave me the lowdown on amenities. The room was clean and large. When I arrived I was asked which floor I preferred. They put me on second floor. Location of hotel was 1/2 block from Pine lake and a Mexican restaurant. I had to leave before breakfast so can’t speak to that. I’d stay there again.

Jessica (10/5): No Complaints! - The hotel was very clean, customer service was friendly and helpful. I loved the fact that we was right across from the lake (literally walking distance) I would definitely stay here again if I am in the LaPorte, IN area.
Daniel (2/5): Rip off artists - Double charged me for a one night stay and there is no one to talk to in order to address the error! Do not stay here, they are thieves!
William (2/5): - We had a very limited window in which to check in. They were unable to accommodate us. That's fine, it happens. But, they still charged us the full price when we didn't even stay there.
Rosaleen (8/5): Comfortable room but hotel should review the reception area - Location & room was very spacious The whiteboards at reception & in the breakfast area were unnecessary- an info area would be much better.
James (2/5): Worst experience ever - The toilet was so low it felt like I was in a preschool bathroom. There were no cups in the bathroom and only 2 at the coffee bar. No lighted mirror for doing makeup. No bath mat and a general lack of towels. There are no grab bars for older or disabled guests. The tv was not working. The front desk clerk tried to fix it, but failed. Overall, I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they seriously addressed these issues.
Stephanie (10/5): - Quick and easy check in process. Room was clean and beds were surprisingly very comfy! Hotel was quiet and well maintained, pool area seemed a bit dated but that didn’t deter my kids from swimming. Breakfast buffet options were good, absolutely loved that they had “to go” bags ready to grab by the breakfast station.

Front Desk experience, the two Caucasian males couldn't find my reservation in the system..The Caucasian female was successful in locating it after considerable effort. I was beginning to feel an African American male was not welcome at this location.

Our room was comfy and had a slight lake view which was beyond what I thought our view was going to be! Will be coming back if I have an event up around this area! Kristine (7/5): Ok, but would look around for a different chain before committing to holiday inn again. - Yummy Breakfast and the hardworking staff lady who was providing great service. Great cinnamon rolls. Quiet hotel and quiet hallways. Not enough towels or blankets for reservation so we had to go to desk for both. Bathroom didn’t look clean. Room was cold and heat smell like burnt rubber so we had to turn off the thermostat.

Catherine (8/5): Excellent! - Excellent stay, wish I could have been there for longer! Minus one star for loud pre-check-out knock followed immediately by the door opening and "Housekeeping!" (I didn't even have a chance to answer.) Thankfully the extra bar was up, so she couldn't enter. If check out is at 11, I'll be there until 10:59. Please don't knock, or come in at 10:40.
