My first interaction with the staff was at the parking structure when I asked a Chumash employee for directions; he was friendly and helpful. At the check-in desk, the staff were very welcoming and professional. My room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. I went to the casino to play and eat. I ate at the restaurant, and the food was well prepared, fresh, and affordable. Overall, an excellent experience. I highly recommend Chumash Casino Resort. I will definitely be coming back.

• Lynn (7/5): - Not much food…After 3 the only place in to eat is the sports bar. I don’t care for spicy food and most of the items on the menu we’re spicy. So they really don’t have many eating places there. We had to go to town to eat, not what I wanted to do.
• V3659PCdougs (6/5): A Casino hotel that could be anywhere - Hotel Location is a very pleasant area of wine country. But don’t expect high end Las Vegas. Sad that the casino sticks out like a sore thumb in green rolling hills. The group that runs the long term planning should find someone with a cultural and artistic vision, the current brand new buildings look like a 1960’s idea of a casino on a budget, completely lacking in creative imagination. Finding the lobby from the parking garage is unclear due to sign placement and poor lighting at the entrance. Atmosphere is adequate in the rooms, they are very clean and are tastefully appointed. The toilet and sliding glass doors seem very cheap, shower was nicely done, room is comfortable although dimly lit even with all the lights on. WiFi is unsecured and cell phone reception was usually poor. I thought the latch was broken on my balcony door but when I reported it to main desk they said it was supposed to not latch because the fire department needed access. I couldn’t believe it so he repeated the reason. This is a first for any building anywhere I have ever been if this is true. My balcony was only about 5’ above a large flat roof so anyone from an adjoining room could hop down to the roof and climb up my balcony into my room. I woke up continually during the night and glanced toward the windows. This especially puts women in a difficult position knowing anyone could come in through the balcony. When checking in reception asked if I wanted to be far from the elevator or close. I said “close as long as it wasn’t right on top of the elevator”. I got off the elevator for the first time and looked straight at my room without taking a step, it wasn’t possible to be any closer, and everyone getting in or off the elevator would stare straight at my door, would you pick that exact room? The Casino areas have a typical casino feel, you completely forget where you are in the world. Restaurant I ate at said there was probably a 20 minute wait for seating so I choose to sit at the bar for faster service. Between waiting for a menu and ordering it took 30 min for the food to arrive. Food was good quality and not cheap. People behind the bar were constantly talking about how busy they were. I drive a lot up and down the California coast and was looking for an alternative place to stay but this place is big and doesn’t feel welcoming on a human scale. I shouldn’t be surprised because they really are catering to daily gamblers.

Excellent food at Cafe and the Bar. Check in starts at 4 pm and check out is 11 am. Very late. Casino extremely noisy and overcrowded. Loved the old slot machines but they are replaced by computer video games.

• 737kristm (2/5): Keep your valuables out of view of the cleaning staff - Some personal property ( brand new Coach purse) was taken from my friends hotel room, once we informed management about it, they tried to down play the situation as a mistake by the cleaning staff, starting that our property was mostly thrown like in the trash. Then once we informed the staff that we were contacting police, the property turned up and was returned to us.

• Ernesto (10/5): Great spot for any Santa Ynez valley trip. - We only stayed for one night but our room was very clean and the shower was awesome great showerhead and water pressure. The bed was comfy and view of the pool and rolling hills was picture perfect. The location is very central if your spending time in Los Olivos, Solvang, Santa Ynez or even Los Alamos. We enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure.
