Guest Reviews
- Arthur (10/5): - We were blown away with the Driftwood Loft option we had selected. Great location, very spacious, great views, quirky and relaxing. Highly recommend.
- Allison (10/5): Such a cool place. - What a cool place! Shane made it so easy to get settle. All was prepared for us. We had a great stay and a nice walk in the beach at sunset. We loved the funky space and all the artful auditions
- Lorene B. (10/5): Great simple place close to the kiwi tour. - Unique property built by the owner and well kept. Enjoy!
- Geoff (10/5): - Enjoyed interesting design thoughtful touches, quirky details
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very stylish and welcoming loft ! Loved the decor, atmosphere, location and natural light. Fully fitted facilities. Great communications. Highly recommend it.
- Carole P. (10/5): Loved everything about staying here! - The cottage is very cleverly designed and very functional. We cooked our meals (no restaurant in Okarito). The kitchenette was very adequately provisioned with cookware. The breakfast items provided were generously ample for our three breakfasts. The bed was very comfortable.
Okarito is a very special place! If we find ourselves back in this part of New Zealand, we hope to stay at Code Time again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was very unique due to the creativeness of the building itself. Lots of weird and wonderful features
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was large and clean, off the beaten path-very quiet.
- Joanne S. (8/5): Rustic - Worked well for us but very basis so not for everyone. Lots of space. Wood stove in living/sleeping area is nice extra. Located a little distant from Franz Josef Glacier but not that far. It’s right on the coast in the middle of a kiwi sanctuary. We didn’t see any as it was raining while we were there.
- Trish (10/5): - Thank you Shane. I know it was only an overnight stay but great location and you supplied everything needed.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cosy with enough space and facilities for three.
- Peggy (10/5): Cozy with al the necessaities - We arrived in the dark so a little difficult to find, but once we got in the black sands, we loved it. So comfortable and everything was just as described. Such a neat place, Shane is quite the host!!
- Peter (10/5): A good location for a stopover. - Enjoyable location to stop with a spectacular beach nearby and a feeling of being at the end of the road! The accommodation itself was like a bunkbarn, but well designed and equipped. We had a happy evening and night there.
- Erin B. (6/5): Ok place to stay. - Host was very accommodating. We arrived late and he left us the lights on in the place!
- Karen (10/5): Fabulous lodge - Clean rooms and bathroom. Superior accommodation with thoughtful touches. Short walk to picturesque beach
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic getaway with great comfort and design - Intelligently planned and well-built living space which maximized lovely sky views, functionality and privacy. Close to the beach and close to the glaciers and beautiful sunsets. A treat with excellent service and preparation from the owner. He even has a booster to enhance cellphone service which was vital for us. Great WIFI. We wish we could have stayed longer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): nice and cosy stay with all nice facilities - We had very good experience there. I would definitely recommend this place. Just a bit of advice that it is in a very small and isolated town but is safe, if that's ok with you then it's an awesome place to spend a couple of days
- Carolyn (8/5): Very secluded bed and breakfast - We had the best nights sleep as it was so quiet and the bed super comfortable . It was a surprise to find no TV, radio etc but it made for a more unique experience in such a tranquil setting 5 minutes walk to the beach!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): way out and quite - It was a very quite place, but only 15 mins drive to Franz Joseff. Spacious. It does not have tv but that did not bother us. Wifi good.
- Helen (10/5): Clean and neat, good location for lagoon wildlife - Spotless, seemed newly furnished. Didn't have much time to explore but good base.
