Guest Reviews
- Camila (2/5): - No hot water , bed was kinda hard , room hot , took hours to cool off for us , won’t stay again
- Pam (10/5): Well priced and accommodating - We arrived after dark as we were photographing at White Sands National Park until after sunset. Service was prompt and quick. Room was obvious updated.
- Judy (8/5): Excellent Value - Clean with a great shower (but sandpaper towels). Great room service. We’ve stayed here a few times and will go back. The property is very well- maintained.
- Virgil (8/5): - Quits
- Felicia (8/5): - The person staying next to us was very sketchy which affected our stay of feeling safe but the staff there is highly courteous and friendly and made an effort to say hi and check in. Everywhere was fully booked at the time of our stay so we knew what we were paying for to find a last minute accommodation. Otherwise the rooms themselves were much better for what we expected.
- Robert (6/5): Not an 8 - How did this place rate an 8? It shows it's age, but overall it's just not a top level hotel. Needs a place to put soap in the shower....
- Peter (6/5): - Check in was difficult. Desk attendant spoke poor English, kept telling me they did not have a handicapped room but I had a hard time finding out what room the DID have for me. The room was reasonably clean but minimal in comfort and amenities.
- Judith M (8/5): - Budget Inn provides a very clean resting place. The inn itself is quiet, but the train and street noises may bother some people. We had no problem sleeping comfortably. The rooms are very small and cramped, but the shower was amazing! We will stay here again.
- John (8/5): - Nice updated room. The toilet paper was soiled, like it got wet and then dried and they used it anyways, even the spare. There were quite a few dirty looking spots on many things in the room. It could use a thorough cleaning, but overall looked clean. The staff asked multiple times his many people would be staying. They kept asking if we had kids or pets. That can be a very upsetting question for people that have been trying for kids, but couldn’t have any. I understand the pets question, but are we paying for a room? or are they just charging people to stay? Why does it matter how many people are staying in the room as long as it’s within the fire code? Anyways, nice place to stay, we liked it.
- Virgil (10/5): - Small places and nice
- Rebeccah (2/5): - Very poorly redecorated. Ice in ice machine was not acceptable. Noise was bad. The walls are so thing to can hear your neighbors talking normally. It was relatively clean but the place needs a total redo.
- glenn (6/5): - Was not allowed one hour late check out.
- Dennis (10/5): - Nice and clean. Good value.
- Robert (8/5): - It is what I expected for the price
- John (6/5): Noisy location - The room was clean. The mattress wasn't great but okay. The problem was some "popping" noise in the room every 20-30 minutes that I couldn't identify; it woke me up each time. And the road noise (motorcycles in particular). And the train noise (several times overnight). And sirens going by. And someone screaming. So the location wasn't great. I didn't sleep well. If I stay in town again, it will be off the main road.
- darryl (8/5): - Good place
Would recommend
- John (10/5): - Great place to stay. Quiet, clean, and the desk manager made a great suggestion for a place to have dinner. This was my best place for the entire 2 and a half week trip.
- Stephanie (2/5): - Chk free dii
- stephen (10/5): - I have stayed here quite a few times and it is always great. Clean comfortable and well kept. Well worth it.
- Matthew (8/5): - It's decent for the price. No issues. Area is fairly quiet.
- Cindy (10/5): Thumbs up - I was very pleased when I walked in to find a very clean well kept room. Everything was in good repair and working well. The bed was comfortable.
- Janet (6/5): - No peep hole or security lock on the door. I had to wedge a chair under the handle. Could never get the tv to connect to the Wi-Fi. English limited with front desk so I didn’t even try to get help.
- Meiyao (10/5): - love it,super clean and quite.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and Quiet Room - Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. There was no morning coffee in the lobby. I was afraid of using the in-room coffee maker since I didn't know how clean it was.
- Martin (10/5): - We've been here before. In town for a funeral. Prompt, timely service. Clean rooms.
We'll rent when in Alamogordo again.
- robert (10/5): - nice room/amenities
- Corrine (10/5): Great stay at a great price. - This is a great hotel. The outside looks like a standard road side cheap stay, but this place will surprise you. Nice rooms, nice bed, great linens, and a very nice shower.
- Tyson (10/5): - Good clean roo.s
- Michelle (10/5): - Our stay was perfect! Our room was comfortable, and the back view of mountains was beautiful.
Above all, the customer service was exceptional! I left a very special item behind and they went above and beyond to have my item returned to me. They packaged my item and took to post office, and did this out of the kindness of their heart, I offered to pay and they would not take my money. Amazing people, would recommend this place in a heartbeat.
Thank you again to the beautiful staff at Budget Inn.
- Alberto (10/5): - Is clean and quiet place
- brenda (4/5): - Front desk man and woman were NOT friendly, the office was HOT and uninviting & it smelled bad ( from food they were cooking) We had spent the entire day in the sun so we were anxious to get to the room to cool off, we walked in and it was like an Oven!!!! I didn't know how to use the air conditioner on the wall so asked the man walking around to help me, he went in, used a remote to turn on and said to shut the door!! No it was hot in there!! It was fresher outside. The room was so small u could hardly walk not sure why they would put two queen beds in there. If they know they are renting a specific room out to someone who has a reservation and its over 100 degrees out, don't be cheap turn the air on!!
- Bijan (6/5): - It was just a basic place to sleep for one night. It wasn't super clean, but it wasn't really bad either. I would stay there again. However, the air conditioner was a little loud.
- Fabian (6/5): - My room was dirty, had a lot of dirt and some little cockroaches.
- Cara (6/5): Might stay again.. - Dead bugs in floor, but at least they were dead! Two mice poops on bedding... Otherwise fine! (Can it get any worse). All I needed was a place to rest my head, had my own pillow, my own blanket and Lysol...so I stayed as I couldn't afford to go elsewhere. The staff were very nice, and am sure they are short handed on cleaning staff as most everyone, so no complaints made. It seems to be the life these days. People just don't want to work, and we get what we pay for..
For low budget bed to lay your head, they do have good tv! But carry your own pillow, blanket and Lysol!
I might stay again, if I needed too!
- Alberto (10/5): - Good place
- Loretta (10/5): Give it a try you won’t be disappointed! - I walked into the office I was checked in immediately. I had reserved a room with one king size bed. The gentleman asked me how many there will be, and then he changed me over to a 2 queen- which worked out better! Doing reservations online is difficult because when I pulled up the building is very old looking and seems very outdated but inside the rooms have all been remodeled and they are very nice. The beds were more comfortable than the last two hotels I stayed in! No complaints and if I had to I would go back!
- Arthur (10/5): Pleasantly surprised! - It's a motor court motel but looks recently remodeled. Had a microwave, fridge and single serve coffee pot which was quite a nice surprise. The staff was very friendly and walked the property regularly so it made it feel very safe. Not a big name chain but the service and cleanliness was better than some of the "Nice" hotels we have been in over the last 3 years. I especially like that they had laminate floors instead of carpet in the room! It was clean and you could tell. I wish more hotels would take a cue on this one. It's single level so there was no stairs for my wife to deal with. They don't have an included cereal and sweet roll bar (breakfast LOL) but there are restaurants only a short distance away. The bed was comfortable to me and the linens smelled crisp and clean. The only thing I could say that was a small minus is the size of the bathroom. They created a walk in shower and that caused the toilet area to feel a little cramped. But even it was very clean and in excellent repair. Yes I would recommend!
- Barb (10/5): - On my way, good price
- Stephenie (6/5): - Room floors were dirty but everything else was ok.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic but for the price we paid, it was alright for us. The indian family runs this motel, very helpful and responsive.
- Guy (10/5): EXCELLENT! - Smoke free and pet free hotel! WOW!
- Zarifa (4/5): - It was the worst lodging experience ever. The room was tiny and had an odd smell. The water in bathroom smelled like sewer and was yellow, even after some running, so we didn't want to shower there. At night the thin blankets didn't give any warmth and the AC wasn't heating well, so we ended up freezing and my kids were sneezing in the morning. When I let the management know about my experience, and it was worse than staying in a cheapest motel and definitely not 100$ per night one, he took me back to room when I was ready to check out to argue everything I said and did nothing about it. Definitely plan your trip better and avoid at all costs!
- Randy (10/5): - Excellent value
- Joel (8/5): - Property was quite nice for the price. Room did NOT smell and shower was hot. Appliances were a bit loud though.
- Victor (10/5): - The owner cares about his hotel. Very nice very attentive
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent stay - Small rooms but has everything you need.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice stay for the money - There is an active train/tracks across the road that can be heard throughout the day and night. We used a noise maker to block out the noise and whistles. Our room was very tight with a king bed, but manageable for the money.
- Frederick (10/5): Good one night stay - It offered exactly what I needed for an overnight stay. A comfortable bed. a good shower, with parking right outside my room.
- Angela (10/5): - Customer service was top notch - always friendly, understanding, helpful. Room was very clean and nicely updated.
- Mary (8/5): - Newly remodeled, very clean and comfortable
- Michael (10/5): - The care in the details of the room and parking and check-in.
- Brenda (8/5): - The room served the purpose for overnight stay.
- Judith (8/5): Good Value and Comfort - We always stay here when we're in Alamagordo on business. The room is clean, reasonably comfortable and is a good value. The rooms are a bit crowded with furniture, but it's good to have the furniture. Room service was very good. We feel safe in this location.
- Nancy (10/5): - Very clean, Microwave refrigerator ironing board and iron, comfortable bed, had everything we needed.
- Katherine (8/5): - Clean and quiet
- John (8/5): - The floor needs to be mopped. Both my wife and I had to clean our feet after taking a shower before we put our shoes on...
The desk has no accessible electric outlets..... nice desk, but needs power. The lamp by the bed has an outlet, but the lamp on the desk does not..
No lamp by the chair by the bathroom. This would be a nice place to sit and read, but that's impossible without a lamp....
- Dorothy (10/5): - Room very clean, fair new shower, nice soap. Hair dryer, coffee in room
- Armida (4/5): - I paid for a non smoking room, and at my arrival the room I got smelled terrible.
- James (10/5): - Nice and very clean.
- George (10/5): Nice comfortable hotel. - Was exactly what we needed. Excelent location and price.
- Rebecca (10/5): Affordable comfortable room - Clean comfortable room.
Good price
- Judith (10/5): - We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Everything worked. There were enough electrical outlets for our CPAPs. We definitely will stay here again. It's an excellent value.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was fine. I did notice that the curtains were ripped. I don't know if other patrons pushed the bed up against it and perhaps it caused them to tear, since it is at the level of the mattress. Also, the fire alarm went off twice in the morning, and received no explanation as to why. When I returned the key, I asked the manager and received no response.
- Erwin (8/5): - Cool. It is clean.
- Tom (10/5): - Great property for the money. Ultra clean, super quiet, great hosts, comfortable and convenient.
- Alberto (10/5): Estancia Agradable - Muy ameno el hotel, llegamos de paso porque ibamos rumbo a Roswel pero en general todo fue agradable
- Michelle (4/5): Depressed - The room was very small, and outdated. The prize was hi, with no accomodations of anykind, felt sad and depress.
- Domingo (10/5): - Quiet, easy access to my destination.
- Mercedes (8/5): - A/C didn’t work every well. A/C is super important when it was over 100 degrees outside!
- Luke (8/5): - Room was clean, beds comfortable, room stayed cool for good nights sleep. convenient rapid late checkin.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Property was very very clean. Bathrooms had recently been renovated and were gorgeous. The price was great!
- Emily (8/5): Its what's on the inside that counts - Pulling up to the budget Inn I thought I had made a mistake booking this place but walking into the room was completely different. The room was updated and very modern. Everything was clean and I would definitely recommend this place to stay. It was the perfect price too.
- Delilah (8/5): - Check in was fast and easy. Young man at desk was nice. Beds were comfortable and pillows were great. Room needs updating, carpet was stained and needed vacuuming...dirt and leaves blown in from under door. Not too secure as doors only have a lock on the knob. I ended up getting sick on this trip (sinus infection) and had to stay in my room for most of our 2 day trip, greatful beds were comfy and air conditioning worked great! I stayed in room 109, handicap accessible. Bathroom was great, huge and good water pressure.
- William (10/5): - I have stayed here before and will probably do so again when in the area
- Jack (8/5): Good, inexpensive motel - The motel was no-frills but was an inexpensive location. The room was impressively clean. My only beef was there was no means to secure the door from the inside, it only had a door knob/lock.
- Frances (8/5): - Room was clean, no problems
- Tom (10/5): - Fast checkin. Very comfortable and quiet. Clean. Everything working well. Recommend and would stay here again.
- Robert (10/5): - Three minutes to check in. Staff was nice. While some of the room furniture showed age... the room was clean and well appointed with flat screen tv, refrigerator, coffee, plenty of towels, and a super-comfortable bed. The photos on their page are accurate. The Budget Inn is also located along a street with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Thank you Budget Inn!
- Lalena (6/5): - Decent accommodations. Could hear traffic. Staff couldn’t understand anything I was asking.
- Sara (4/5): - The room didn't look anything like the one in the photo. Tiny. Cramped. They crammed a king sized bed in, a desk, dresser, couple of night stands. No room to move around. Bathroom was way outdated. Lousy lighting. Would never stay here again. Street racing happened on the road the motel is on all night long.
- Gary (4/5): - not as good as i thought.
- Amanda (10/5): - Really nice, big, clean room. Don’t be put off by the plain exterior, the room was really nice.
- Michael (8/5): - An older establishment, but everything was in order & clean. Not in need of repair, but you can tell that the room is a bit older. Train ran by a few times during the night & woke me up with train whistle.
- Karen (8/5): - The room condition was really as good as it looks in the picture. The fridge and microwave was a nice bonus for the price. Only downside is the street noise and train which the hotel has no control over.
- Don (6/5): - First impression wasn't great. It seemed in a sketchy area. It's an older one story motel but I just needed it for one night. Check in was efficient though the office had a very strong curry smell. Entering the room, there was an overwhelming smell of bleach or other cleaning substance. I appreciate cleanliness but this was very strong and long lasting. Upon turning on the overhead light, multiple grease-like stains were in the bedspread. I understand it is hard to clean them but this gave me pause about staying there but I decided to stay. To be fair, everything else was fine. The room was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable, etc. The night went fine but the bleach odor did not subside much and was in my clothing when I left. Overall, I would probably not return.
- Bryan (10/5): - Good value, clean and easy access to the vehicle.
- Linda Marie (8/5): - I liked that it was away from the busy highways, and you could barely hear the train.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Noisy Old AC - Location does not seem safe. poor wifi. very old window AC - noisy with pre-set temp alternating hot and cold air blowing directly at the beds. very small space/bathroom.
Furniture/bedding is relatively new. clean.
- Frederick (8/5): Budget Inn Alamogrodo. - The room was nice and comfortable. The shower was good. The bed was comfortable. The tv worked well. The only that could be improved is the room and bathroom lighting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good experience - Overall good stay & would stay again. This place was located a short drive from places of interest. Three of us stayed comfortably for a few days. Some of the towels were stained but otherwise the room was very clean and had everything we needed. This place was located a short drive from places of interest.
- Philip (6/5): - I liked the bed. It was comfy.
The biggest downside is the train close by that must have come through 4 times over the night at least.
- Stephen (8/5): - Internet connection was not good. I had a little help from the check-in clerk, but the wifi/internet did not work most of the time.
Room was small, but manageable. Expedia needs to know that a number was missing from the room size. We had enough space to maneuver around the large bed, but the room description said the room size was 12 sq. ft. That is/was not possible. We knew it when we read it. We thought you ought to know!
- James (10/5): Great Place to Stay - The outside doesn’t give this place justice. Room was clean with a very comfortable bed. Room also has a nice modern bathroom and shower. Room was a 4 star hotel quality room.
- sheryl (10/5): - Room was clean and bed was comfy. Was there an ice machine??
- Mark (2/5): - For me the ratings on Expedia do not reflect what this place really was. One of the poorest places I’ve stayed at for a long time. Definitely it worth the price asked for stays no there.
- Richard (10/5): - Manager was very helpful with special request
- Abhishek (8/5): - Overall experience was alright. The quality of bath soaps and shampoos provided is not good.
- Jason (8/5): - The room was clean and kept up, just a little small and hard for my elderly father to navigate.
- Jian (8/5): - Clean and well maintained. But the room is just a bit small.
- Kathleen (6/5): - It was just ok. Noisy, no breakfast, scary people around. Room seemed to be clean & the bed was comfortable.
