The room was spacious, spotless, and the bed offered a touch of luxury and great comfort. However, there was no view from the room, and the staff could be more welcoming—they rarely smiled or made guests feel at ease. The hotel kitchen was also quite slow, with food sometimes taking over an hour to arrive. I'd recommend exploring nearby restaurants for quicker options. Overall, it was a nice experience, but faster service and friendlier staff would make it even better.

This issue caused a significant delay in my activities during this trip. Except for a minor maintenance concern (e.g., what appears to be water stains on the ceilings), my overall stay at this hotel was excellent. The hotel staff members were friendly and nice.

- Felicia (8/5): They don't address guests concerns - The hotel was very nice, but they don't address guests complaints as well as they should. The hallway walls were repainted, but there were no "wet signs" to inform guests to not touch or rest on the walls. It took days for the paint to dry and paint dripped down the walls onto the floors creating a safety hazard and stains on clothes. I reported this, and all they said was "I'm so sorry ma" But my clothes were badly stained. Also, my car was bashed into while parked on the property under the watch of the hotel night security personnel. Not only did they let the driver go, they didn't informed me and i noticed and brought it to their attention. Again, all i got was "I'm so sorry ma."

On this ocassion, I booked two nights but the hotel refused to refund a night's stay despite giving advance notice of flight cancellations. The room I was assigned for the remaining night had no hot water and the air-conditioning was very noisy throughout the night. Very disappointed with the declining quality.

- Starrjumbo (8/5): Shoregate is a good choice anyday - Beautiful,clean hotel, right in the heart of Ikeja, with good proximity to the airport. Pleasant and pretty courteous Staff, ever willing to help. A good breakfast buffet too. There are decent taxis just outside the hotel to ensure your safe commute within the city.
- olui2024 (6/5): The facilities and services were ok not spectacular. - The hotel needs to train the restaurant staff to be courteous and respectable, especially , the guy called Anyanwu who feels to big to serve breakfast as takeaway, then made up a story to say the management no longer serve to go breakfast from the morning of 31st of December. I spoke to the F& B manager, who seems to think there are rules for to go breakfast. It seems that all the staff want to do is to forc6people to eat in rather than do to go breakfast that the customers may be entitled to having paid for breakfast already with accommodation. This is just a stinking thinking of poverty-stricken mindset over the food that has already been paid for. This left a bitter taste in my mouth. The hotel also served expired complimentary creamer for coffee, which was 1 year expired. The issue was raised but nothing was done about it.

I actually feel like requesting for a refund. The check in process was slow and inefficient. I was made to feel like an inconvenience - it was a pre paid booking. I did not get a room key for the duration of my stay???? How do you check into a hotel without a room key?First time in all my life. The rooms were functional but not special and poorly maintained.

- Ebanehita (4/5): - I will start with the positive note: staff did their job as they should, there was no exceptional customer service but it was not bad either. Major con: First time back in Nigeria after 6 years and I am disappointed in this and many other hotels. I am not picky but expect a certain minimum standard of cleanliness in a hotel. I was given room 208 and on entering the hall way, there appeared to be what looked like a huge shaped mold or mark from water leakage on the ceiling of the 2nd floor. Absolutely disgusting. In my room, the bed was too soft and not at all comfortable for me. The bathroom was dirty, you could tell that it was cleaned on surface level, but there were many dirt marks from in the cracks and crevices of the bathroom from a lack of actual deep cleaning. The shower head was also dirty. I checked in at about 6PM and checked out for my next flight the following morning by 5AM So I did not get to see much with daylight. But it is disappointing to see that a hotel of this nature, that obviously pays staff to clean, does not ensure that cleaning job is inspected for deep cleaning. In a short while, a lot of those molds and dirt in the bathroom will become permanent. Please do better.

The staff were brilliant in their job and always have a smile on their face, from the receptionists to the cleaners. Definitely recommend this hotel if you're visiting Ikeja Lagos.

- 723olayinkab (6/5): Not fantastic. - The hotel clearly needs upgrading & refurbishing plus a deep clean of lounge furniture as it had a lot of stain marks, management should also ensure staff are clean as some had really bad odour. Breakfast got tiresome as it was practically the same everyday so at some point i did not bother plus it was not pleasant seeing waiting staff taking their meals at the same time with guests, a separate place out of guests view is better. We were disappointed as the food was not tasty and they did not have a lot of simple things like suya or ice cream. There`s not much to do there so i was bored. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and polite and management was accommodating as i had an issue with my first room but it was sorted.

The reception lobby can compare to hotels in other countries! The hotel made provision to accommodate guests in sitting areas located on individual floors. The staff are friendly and professional, which is a perfect combination. The variety of food presented at the breakfast buffet is commendable. This is the best hotel I have stayed in so far and have to keep reminding myself this is Lagos! The rooms are beautiful with no expense spared on the quality of furniture, shower, toiletries etc. The only con would be the state of the gym which requires updating but the facilities are functional. Overall, I am impressed and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. I hope the standard is maintained.

- UKCiroma (6/5): Gym should be open for longer. - Nice hotel but could do better. The gym closes at 6PM daily (UNBELIEVABLE & VERY STRANGE). The "pool" was closed during my stay and staff kept saying it will be fixed today. That never happened. Its just a small 8x8ft pool with a flat bottom/floor. In 2024, this "luxury hotel" still issues guests with tickets for its wifi service, :) Food is great, wifi was poor in my room, constant light and hot water, comfy beds and pillows. Settled all bills before departure but staff ran to meet me in car stating a bill is outstanding. I advised him to check their bank account and WhatsApp records for receipts of payments. Good location for Ikeja.
