• Zvi (10/5): Lovely Hotel with a Dream Team - I’ve traveled a lot around the world, and I’ve never encountered such a kind and genuinely helpful staff. And I mean the entire team: from the reception staff to the maintenance crew. They truly made our trip. Beyond that, the place is spotless and very comfortable for anyone who wants to come back to a cozy bed and a good shower at the end of a long day exploring Rome. For observant Jewish guests: although we stayed during the week, we noticed that mechanical keys are available. In addition, every morning the waiter brought us kosher croissants (I honestly have no idea how he knew... we didn’t expect it and hadn’t requested them in advance!). And once again, thank you to the team, who were truly outstanding. I recall the name of Simone an Hussein who even made my daughter a tea before we left because she wasnt felling well, and David from the restaurant who gave an ecxelent service. But all staff went out of their way to help.

• jojocruzin (10/5): The perfect spot for our first visit to Rome! - The experience was 5 out of 5! The hotel was centrally located in Rome, walking distance to eateries of eateries and shops, and the staff was just amazing with any of the lead that arose. We arrived early well for check-in but the staff could see that we were exhausted from her overnight flight and let us in the room early so that we could lay down. This extra layer of attention did not go unnoticed and we were extremely grateful to get a nap in before our activities started for the day. They're flexibility was amazing! Their location has breakfast included at a rooftop setting that also becomes a bit of a gathering place throughout the rest of the day in the evening with the ability to sit relax and enjoy a few drinks.

After two room changes, we continued to experience serious maintenance and sanitation issues, including constant noise and a sewage odor, with no meaningful resolution. Management’s dismissive responses reflect a pattern seen in prior reviews and suggest long-standing problems that have not been addressed.

The location is pretty good and just a minute walk away from the Tiber river. If you are open to walk 20-30 minutes, all the key attractions are walkable. The staff were helpful to suggest good local restaurants for our group to try out.

Overpriced not worth the price (both mornings I had only lukewarm not hot water to shower, my room 307 looks at a wall, you can hear your neighbors in the bathroom so it’s overall a bit noisy, breakfast was very basic, rooftop lacking atmosphere with no view, elevator is super slow).

• nickmH888WV (10/5): A Great Hotel with Accommodating Staff - I don’t often write reviews, but it is indeed my pleasure to write this review highlighting the exemplary service, outstanding hospitality, and wonderful ambiance of the Hotel Monte Cenci in Rome. The hotel is a “Boutique” hotel, but don’t let that moniker dissuade you. The rooms are modern, the amenities are outstanding, and the price is reasonably affordable. The Hotel Monte Cenci is clean, well maintained, and finely appointed with thoughtfully modern Roman decor and interior design. The rooftop space that serves as both reception for a buffet breakfast and evening bar is a very pleasant place to spend some time gearing up for your exploration of Rome or winding down from a day of adventure with a nightcap or two. The service was beyond perfecto in our opinion. The front desk is supervised by Charlie, who is very demanding of his staff. The front desk staff are exceptionally well trained in hospitality and genuinely welcoming; nothing in our experience was pretentious, fake, or fawning for a tip. While we were there for only five nights, we were so well received by the staff we felt as if they were genuinely friends we’d like to receive in our own home. I’d like to give a special shoutout to Paulo, Idye (sp?), and Ana. If you want to know where the locals eat, ask them. If you want to know where the nearest KFC is, ask them; they will accommodate you. They know Rome and they seem to love sharing it with others. I have traveled a lot on business or in government service, so I can say I’ve stayed many nights in many hotels, but none of them measure up to the magic of Hotel Cenci.

The staff and proprietor are friendly, warm, welcoming, helpful and prompt. The bed and bathroom were very clean and comforting. The rooftop terrace is perfect for a delicious breakfast or cocktail with views of the sunset and some church towers and statues. The location is very convenient by foot to both the Roman ruins and Trastevere. We had an excellent stay. Thank you! Nothing. It was an ideal stay!

• Steven (8/5): Upscale hotel. Great location. Cramped room. - Hotel Monte Cenci is in a great location within easy walking distance of all of the major Rome destinations, excelt for the Vatican. The hotel has great service and a high end atmosphere. We arrived at 10:30 AM, and since the previous guest in our room had already checked out, the manager had the maid clean our room right away so that we could check in after only a 30- minute wait in the lounge. The king-size bed was very comfortable. The included breakfast in the rooftop bar area was very good with a variety of options in the buffet, thoughbit would have been nice if those options weren't identical everyday. The only downside that leads to my 4- star review was the space. The bedroom felt cramped with only about 3 feet (one meter) around each side of the bed. The bathroom could have been spacious except that they crammed in an oversize soaking tub with a very wide edge that made it hard to step into for a shower and a bidet that caused the toilet to need to be position so close to the wall that the toilet seat would catch on the roll of toilet paper.

The hotel is beautiful and clean, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable and the rooftop bar was a great place to relax with a beverage before bed.

• Y5097FFbrittanyf (10/5): Comfortable stay, great staff - We enjoyed our 5 night stay in Rome at this hotel. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel lobby area was quiet, but we were always greeted with a smile and a few kind words when passing by. The deluxe room we booked with the large round tub and rain shower was spacious and perfect for our anniversary trip. The breakfast buffet offered a little bit of everything, with a rooftop terrace to enjoy breakfast or evening drinks. Our waiter made beautiful cappuccinos to start our day. The location was quite good. Although Rome is vast, we were able to walk to many great restaurants in Trastevere and the major sights we wanted to see near Rome's city center. For destinations further out, we opted for a taxi on occasion or just took a break at a restaurant and continued on our adventure. The room was always cool and cleaned when we returned from a long day. We did have one maintenance issue on our first night, but the staff promptly moved us to another room which was appreciated. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. Kudos to our wonderful housekeeper, waiters, and front desk staff for helping make this an unforgettable and relaxing trip.

• audie40 (6/5): Better location available - While the hotel is cute I believe other places are more centrally located. You are about a mile from main attractions but just steps from the Jewish quarter. We had no water pressure or hot water one day and it took several requests to get a response and was eventually fixed however no communication from the staff unless we asked. TV couldn’t hold a signal and we had to ask multiple times. Both were finally resolved. The front staff is very friendly and helpful in making recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast was fine however we were not aware they would make omelets until we saw someone else eating one. Cute little area, Trastevere, about .25 miles from the hotel we went into for dinner on our two night stay along the river.

• Edward (10/5): Fantastic location! - Fantastic location. Super clean, fantastic breakfast included and staff was so kind and helpful! Would recommend Monte Cenci to anyone. Really no place to put your luggage. One small luggage rack.
• BenBMD (10/5): Highly recommended hotel - Hotel was awesome. Located in the Jewish Ghetto right in the heart of the area. We had special needs for Sabbath and they could not me more accommodating. The staff was amazing and treated us like royalty. Room was spacious and spotless. We got daily service and the room was immaculate. Good breakfast and they even accommodated or Kosher needs. My wife and I are walkers and we were able to walk to the Great Synagogue, Colosseum, Vatican and many other attractions. Highly recommend.
