We enjoyed the traditional atmosphere and hospitality, the gorgeous gardens and ceramics galleries, the public and private bath, and the view from our room. It is a little far from town, so plan to walk or take a cab.

On est cmme chez soi . Nous avons passé 4 jours de rêve. Un des plus beaux Ryokans du Japon selon nous . La proximité de la plage est un atout. Merci à tout le personnel , au "owner" et à son fils . Nous reviendrons au YOYOKAKU si nos pas nous guident encore au Japon. TOUT sans exception

• Hisashi Todd Fujinaka (10/5): Beautiful old ryokan with excellent food. - Location-wise it wasn't close to the train station, but it is close to the beach and the castle, and while the tourist information desk is back at the station, you can start the recommended sight-seeing loop at the castle with no issues. The food is fantastic. I just had the normal option with the fish and every part of it was great. There's also a coffee machine with pods available for use so I didn't even have any complaints about the coffee. I'm not sure of the make but the pods were aluminum so they will recycle. The futon was one of the more comfortable ones I've had. I felt guilty about being treated so nicely. My one complaint was that there was too much food! I suppose being far from a combini is one thing but that's a minor problem.

The staff were exceptional and the food was prepared with the utmost of care. This was the most memorable of places we have ever experienced. We couldn't recommend highly enough. Absolutely nothing!

• Tanya (10/5): Allein für eine Übernachtung im Yoyokaku lohnt sich der Besuch in Karatsu. - Absolut alles hat mir gefallen: es ist wunderschön, traditionell, moderne Elemente, die Gastfreundschaft ist selbst für Japan besonders, die drei Ausstellungsräume für Keramik sind wirklich sehr besonders, das japanische Frühstück war nicht nur optisch grossartig und die Lage. Das ich nicht das Abendessen gewählt habe, aber dazu kann das Yoyokaku nun wirklich nichts.
• Michal (10/5): - This is one of the most beautiful ryokans we have ever stayed in. From the architecture and the rooms to the gardens. everything was stunning. Our room, which overlooked the garden and the koi pond, was spacious and lovely. There was incredible attention to every detail, and the service was exceptional, even by Japanese standards. The staff was helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The Japanese breakfast was both varied and delicious. This is Japan at its very best.

• 연욱 (10/5): 요요카쿠(洋々閣), 살면서 한번은 꼭 가시라 추천합니다. - 요요카쿠, 이 곳은 제가 일본에서 료칸을 떠올리면 가장 마지막까지 남아있어주면 좋겠다 싶은 곳입니다. 한국분들이 생각하는 온천과 노천탕은 없지만(물론 욕장이 있습니다) 싸구려 구색 맞추기 료칸의 어설픈 음식과 건축물이 아닌 진짜 진짜배기라는 건 이런 것이다 하는 경험을 하게 해줍니다. 정성스럽게 만든 음식들이 사가현 카라츠 도자기들로 플레이팅 되어 나올 때 기물의 힘을 느낍니다. 과하게 간을 하지 않고 재료의 맛을 최대한 살린 음식들은 요요카쿠 정도는 되어야 제대로된 음식이 나오는 료칸이구나 하는 어떤 기준점을 가질 수 있게 해줍니다. 당연히 요요카쿠의 100년 훌 쩍 넘은 오래된 건축물과 정원에 있는 500년 된 소나무들을 보며 걷는 시간은 타임슬립을 한 것 같죠. 여기는 가보셔야 합니다, 후쿠오카에 거주하며 큐슈지역의 수많은 온천 료칸을 다녀보았지만 단 한 곳만 선택해서 지인들과 가족들과 가고싶은 곳은 어디냐 라고 질문을 받았을 때 늘 요요카쿠 라고 대답해요. * 음식은 카이세키 혹은 일본식 샤브샤브를 선택 할 수 있는데 이거 꼭 반반으로 신청하세요 2명이면 1명은 카이세키, 1명은 샤브샤브 이렇게 해서 쉐어해서 반드시 드시기를 추천합니다. 이곳에서 아쉬움을 느끼시는 수준이시라면 1인당 70만원 이상의 초고급 온천료칸을 선택하시면 됩니다.

• 베힝 (10/5): - 두번째 방문입니다. 항상 친절하게 응대해주시며 픽업서비스를 받고 숙소에 도착할 수 있습니다. 저녁요리를 예약하지 못하고 도착하여 밖에서 먹을 예정이었으나, 저녁 샤브샤브는 가능하시다 하여 맛있게 먹었습니다. 조찬도 깔끔하게 나와 아침에 든든하게 먹고 출발할 수 있었습니다. 대욕장은 적당한 크기에 정돈되어있었고 좋은 탕이었어요. 경치좋은방으로 배정받아서 저녁에 가라쓰성의 야경도 볼 수 있었고 정원도 구경할 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 다음에 또 방문하겠습니다.

Savourer le thé que l'on vous offre à votre arrivée, marcher dans le jardin, prendre un bain, découvrir et déguster les plats étonnants que l'on vous sert... Un grand bonheur !

Very tranquil place surrounded by a Japanese garden. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Everyone was very attentive and friendly, making the stay a wonderful experience. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, varied and of high quality. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Everyone was so kind to us and our little girl really enjoyed interacting with them even though we don’t speak their language. • Chin (9/5): Beautiful ryokan in Karatsu - Beautiful traditional old house . Great traditional room. Beautiful garden with very old Bonzai trees. Breakfast .. Room on second floor, no lift. Carrying luggage up and down

• Derek (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely beautiful ryokan with welcoming staff. Staff could speak only a little English, but was enough to get by. Breakfast was exceptional. Was even able to meet the original host as well, who was very hospitable. Enjoyed my stay so much. Will miss Yoyokaku and Karatsu. Not very used to sleeping on Japanese futons.

• Zen (10/5): Incredible ryokan - This was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. The ryokan is gorgeous and finely detailed with pottery galleries and a library to reflect and relax. Lovely garden as well. Staff were wonderful and picked us up from the train station. Our room itself was beautiful and huge. We will definitely return and stay longer.

• Anna (10/5): Exceptional - A beautiful and serene ryokan with the most attentive, caring and friendly staff! We had such a wonderful time! Amazing food and exceptional hospitality!!
• Lativ (10/5): Exquisite Ryokan - Great service, all staffs are very friendly and hospitable. The room and property are well maintained, very clean. Japanese Breakfast is very good, a set meal with grilled fish. The highlight is of course the Keiseki dinner on first night and Saga Beef shabu shabu on second night. It is highly recommended for guest at this Ryokan to have at least one dinner meal during the stay. None.
• Jae (10/5): Perfect place!!!perfect services!!!! - The service, facility, food, and atmosphere were all perfect. Most importantly, we actually lost our luggage at the airport but could luckly find it thanks to Yoyokaku’s hard efforts!! Thank you soooo much for your kind helps and it was amazing experience staying at Yoyokaku.
