- saeed daneshmandi (10/5): Peaceful retreat with a serene view - It's a great spot to be away from the chaos and commotion you see in the touristy parts. If you rent a car/ATV, with the parking at your disposal, this place offers easy access to various parts of the island due to its central location. Also having a balcony that opens up to the sea and allows for you enjoy a quiet morning was delightful. This is of course not the property's fault but rather our bad luck that it was especially windy the whole time we stayed there.
- María (9/5): -
- Muhammed (10/5): Nice property, if you do not have a car and will use the bus I recommend staying at Fira. Fira is where the central bus -
Localisation centrale.
Parking privé
Cadre du site très fleuri et chaleureux.
Photos conformes.
Déco soigné. Literie moyenne.
- Raffaele (9/5): - Jacuzzi, comfortable living room, room conditioning
- Timothy (10/5): - Entering the courtyard from the street did it. There was nothing that could take away from this property. The courtyard lined with vegetation, the views of the mountains and the sea, along with the table for two next to the entrance, spoke true culture. Breakfast and coffee overlooking the Mediterranean Sea is ultra-relaxing. I can retire and live out my days there.
- Eva (9/5): - We stayed just one night on our way to Anafi island. Perfect place for a transfer because it's close to the airport but with interesting surroundings (at the outskirts of a village where people actually live, not just a bunch of rooms to let and hotels). Very quiet room thanks to the thick walls. Beautiful old furniture and pleasant decor.
- Emma (10/5): Everything you could possibly want in a property! - I couldn’t fault the property and the host family are so friendly and helpful. We were served homemade ice cream on arrival….. Fabulous!!!! Liked all of it!

- Francesco (10/5): - Clean and spacious room in a quiet location. They forgot to send the check in instructions so it was difficult to find the room.
- Szilvia (10/5): Fairytale in the middle of nowhere :) - Amazing apartment complex in a quiet place . Adala , the host was fantastic, she was always smiling and helped with everything . The house was very stylish and spotlessly clean , the sunrise on the rooftop is something that I’ve never experienced before. It’s a special place , you feel like you are in a fairytale . The only miss is that nothing is around. So you need a car
- Henazi (8/5): Very good -
- Xiaoming (6/5): Pleasant -
- Michiko (10/5): I enjoyed staying at the property - it had a great view and the room was cosy and inviting! -

- S (10/5): Excellent Stay at Afoura houses - Our stay at Afoura Houses in Santorini was nothing short of fantastic. While the location is a bit hillside, requiring a short hike to reach, the effort is absolutely worth it. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by a place that feels like it was plucked straight from Pinterest—beautifully designed and thoughtfully decorated.
The host was incredibly helpful, assisting us with everything we needed during our stay. Their warm hospitality added a personal touch to the experience, making us feel right at home.
We opted for the sea view room on the top floor, and it was a decision we didn’t regret. The view was simply breathtaking, offering a perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The room was equipped with AC, which was a blessing during the hot weather, ensuring a comfortable stay at all times.
One of the highlights was the private rooftop. It’s spacious, entirely yours to enjoy, and offers an ideal spot to soak in the surroundings. Whether it’s for a morning coffee or an evening under the stars, the rooftop adds an extra layer of charm to the stay.
We enjoyed our time at Afoura Houses so much that we’ve already decided this will be our go-to place for our next visit to Santorini. Highly recommended! The location is bit in the hill. So if you dont have a car then you have to come down for the bus and also have a do a little hike to reach the place. If you are young and have less luggage then its fine. I would recommend to come and leave by taxi on the day of arrival and departure. Rest you can manage as bus stop is not very far and have a good frequency.
- Durgesh (10/5): - Beautiful rustic house with great views and decor. The host was very helpful and responsive.
- Anna (8/5): Travelled with friends. The houses are located on a hill, with stunning view. - Location, rooftop Small windows
- Riccardo (9/5): Superb - The location is amazing, one of my favourite part of the island, not crowded, outside the santorini overturism, we stayed only 1 night because we only passing by santorini to catch our ferry,
But amazing view, relaxing atmosphere.
The host was lovely, she let me feel really welcomed,
We had a late flights, she kept our backpack safe till we needed, thanks again for that.
- Esra (10/5): Amazing Ambiance & Good Location - It was really good location between port & airport and popular beaches. House have everything what you need for accomodation (for bathroom & kitchen). Ambiance is so romantic & cozy, cool. Most important thing you should have a car for reach to house. We arrived the Santorini on night but we could not found hostel easily (due to our internet problem - it's not related w/hotel). ALDA, she is host helped to us everything (she so patient, she waited to us when we arrived the hotel on the night. She share to us many thing about Santorini) Breakfast can be added maybe, because ambiance and terrace so cool for drinking or eating something :)
- Xu (8/5): Very good - The five of us enjoyed a large house. The house is very nice as in the pictures. It has also a yard and several spaces to enjoy the sun and ocean views. Very quiet and cosy. Every room is well equipped. Alda, the host, had everything ready for us. This house may be a bit old, and there are some small ants in the kitchen. It doesn't really affect cooking, but I think it will be better, when it could be fixed.
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bánk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karina (8/5): Beautiful, well equipped old stone cottage, oozing charm with great private terrace with sea views - Beautiful little stone cottage; well equipped, very comfortable bed, beautifully designed. Great private and also communal terraces with views out to sea. Pretty grounds full of colour and charm. Very helpful staff member who really went the extra mile when I needed assistance The only issue for me, as a solo traveller without transport was the location. There are buses but I would only stay again if I had a car.
- Sven (10/5): Super - Vintage style, clean, cozy, romantic.. /
- Prins (10/5): I can recommend staying here if you are looking for a tranquil, beautiful place with a view in a great mountain village. - Very welcoming and kind reception by Anita. Attention to detail. Beautifully furnished inside and outside. Fabulous views. Lovely rooms and bed linen. Stunning courtyards. Its more tricky to get to, if you travel by bus. To reach the village, restaurants or shops you need to walk up the mountain. ;-)
- Helen (8/5): Lovely view simple room - Lovely view and good price. Hard to find- we weren’t given instructions on how to get there and needed up in the Erin places as the location on Google maps was incorrect. Would have been nice to have been provide with a correct address when booking.
- Lisa (10/5): Really amazing stay - The location, the attention to the details, it was in a quiet and very strategic location
- Abhishek (9/5): Afoura Houses - Old Greek Winery converted to rental accomodation - Very nice old Greek winery from 1817 converted to a holiday rental.
The house was very beautiful and very well decorated. the hostess Alda was extremely helpful. The location was a bit confusing and is hard to reach. The narrow and steep alley makes it hard to drive up to the house, especially during the night, but it's Santorini and hilly terrain.
- Julia (8/5): We may come back and see the differences during other time of the year. Winter is probably not the best time to come to - Beautiful room, host is very caring and helpful. Wifi was quite poor, water was cold and bed was damp.
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roussou (1/5): Bad -
- Eleni (10/5): Exceptional - Best area if you want some peace and quiet in Santorini!
- Annelize (10/5): Definitely a must stay if you like a place with character and charm... - This is the most beautiful, romantic space we ever stayed at. It oozes character and charm! Comfortable and cool and really well equipped with a washing machine, proper, large cups and glasses. It was not a problem but note that one of the bedrooms is very small and the bed barely fit in there.
- Audrey (9/5): Superb -
- Christos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Αναστασια (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was just perfect! The establishment was beautiful to say the least, the receptionist was awesome and the view was great as well!! Nothing
- Dimitris (8/5): Nice room, helpful personnel - Room view Lack of some facilities and furniture
- Ogata (9/5): Amazing experience at a traditional house - Great communication with friendly staff & pretty and spacious rooms No air conditioner & need to rent car/bike
- Tatiana (8/5): - The property itself is amazing, unique, most likely was remodeled from the old winery cellar. Alda, the hostess, was always helpful and stayed in-touch if we needed anything. There was a slight problem with a wash machine but we were still able to use it. The view from the property's patios (there are several of them) are breathtaking. The big downside is the location. There are no restaurants or grocery stores nearby. If you do not have a car to drive to either Thira or Camari, you have to take a local bus or rent a taxi. Buses are quite rare, wait is from 30-45 minutes, bus schedule is highly unreliable, taxi is quite pricy. Walking to Camari is possible if you want to risk your life. There are no sidewalks.
- Raluca (1/5): Dissapointed - I didn’t like the owner. We booked 3 bedrooms house lino, but they gave us 1 bedroom apartment in another location. They didn’t inform us about the change and we’re trying to convince us this is the accommodation which we booked. I didn’t like the owner. - Vivian (10/5): Exceptional - Efficient team working round the clock to provide the very best of Hospitality. Thank you Eda,Appreciate all the assistance.
- Glaveash (10/5): 🥰 - beautiful and has everything
- Nikolaos (9/5): Superb - the style none
- Deanna (8/5): Charming, traditional rooms in very quiet area. - Charming property with well appointed rooms with traditional decor and ambiance. Friendly host upon arrival. Lobby/reception area looked really cute in pictures but I did not see it as receptions was closed when I checked out the next day. Great for a one-night stay. A little bit far from restaurants/shops. Limited parking and facilities. Curtains weren't blackout. Mirror in bathroom needs to be replaced.
- Jim (6/5): Pleasant - view very poor parking options.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshini (10/5): - Great place!!
- Silvia (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect Position , very clean and comfortable with private parking and friendly, helpful host! Anytime again!
- Kala (7/5): Good -
- Marieke (10/5): Try it!!! - Hospitality is great! Beautiful building (old wine brewery) with amazing decoration! Lovely (rooftop) balconies with great views. Good price. Away from all tourism in a lovely little rural village. Nothing.
- Kim_mahmud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naina (7/5): Good -
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - it was very nice and comfortable, perfect place to chill, very nicely welcomed & supported by the owner during our stay
- Stanley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giannae (9/5): Superb - Konstantinos is extremely helpful and friendly. Room is a good size, with coffee making facilities and a lot of storage space. Having a free
car park just across the street also helps as you'll probably need to rent something if you plan exploring the area better. Also super quiet, so perfect for a light sleeper like me. We really enjoyed ourselves! Building has a lot of character and a lovely view which is totally worth it, but because it's quite far from anything, it would be nice to have glasses (not wine ones) and smaller bowls, plus something to wash dishes and a cloth, if you would like to have breakfast there for example. Also, having something to hang bathing suits to get them dry would be great. Other than that, we really liked everything. :)
- Nial (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Cute area, balcony, house and friendly staff members
- Ciaran (8/5): Very good - Clean & spacious. No breakfast but facilities (including a coffee machine) are provided. A huge fridge is avaialbe so you can store any drinks or food you need. The owner was avaialble to let us in, I changed my arrival time, I notified him by text & he was able to accommodate. He was also able to arrange any taxi's we needed they arrived at exactly the time we requested. It is not near any shop, come prepared with any food or drinks you need for your first night.
- Eva (9/5): Amazing place and beautiful and calm surroundings - natural Greek style property, with fabolous view.
Situated in beautiful mountain village with best restaurants
- Aishath (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (10/5): It was a great base to explore the island from. - it was a beautiful property with loads of character with loads of places to visit nearby. it was great…no complaints
- Tom (8/5): Very comfortable and within short distance from hotel. 2 nice restaurants - that I know of - nearby. - Proximity to airport was very helpful. Taxi is a 10 minute ride. Access to buses are a short walk down hill. There are 2 exceptional restaurants within walking distance. The host was punctual and very helpful. The area is quiet and away from the main 'hang'. We were travelling onward the next day via ferry and our host arranged all taxis.
Room has AC which is needed is summer. They were very clean and in a rustic charming style. Many thanks for the assistance during our stay. Would definitely go back another time. Tom Nothing to do with the hotel - there is a shocking litter problem on the island; plastic everywhere. Perhaps citizens should do more to clean it up - obviously the local services cannot cope.
- PHILIPPE (10/5): - La gentillesse de Konstantinos
- PHILIPPE (10/5): - La gentillesse de konstantinoS
- Zhenzhe (10/5): - Very nice place to stay. It’s clean and spacious. I like the coffee machine and really enjoy drinking hot coffee on the rooftop.
- Fred (10/5): Awesome get away - Off the beaten track so to speak, no restaurants within walking.g distance, but the place makes up for all that. We used Discovery Tours to get around and they took very good care of us.
- Kristian (10/5): The best place in Exo Gonia area!! - Very nice host!! Everything was very beautiful, the room was stunning, overall, a great stay!!
- Suhhyun (4/5): Iost my necklace in the room - It's location was far from the center and the bus services quit at 4pm to the hotel when I been there.
I was very embarrassed when arrived.
The cost of taxi was very expensive from the hotel to the center (15 Euro).
You should spend money for the taxi if you want to see the Sunset at the Oia.
The Worst thing wsa the losing my necklace.
I left my necklace in the room but when I came back from the tour, the room was cleaned by housekeeper.
I didn't know that there is housekeeping service everyday.
There was no DnD sign and you can cook at there. It look like a Air B&B.
But it happend and I lost my thing.
I know it is my fault but it was very bad experience for me.
Although it has the kitchen and cooking instruments there was no supermarket around the hotel.
They don't give the service water for drink in the room.
You can use the hotwater 24 hours and the bed has electronic blankets.
It was nice.
I spent 80 Euro for the taxi services during my staying 2 night.
The bus operated not enough for this hotel.
I recommend to use the hotel insid the town center. It is more better to save your money and to safe your luggage.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the designs of the house is really good and I like it so much.
- Wrp (8/5): - Excellent facility. Great views, walk everywhere. Very cozy Bed & Breakfast type of arrangement.
- Wai Kin (10/5): - Joanna is so awesome and waiting us at the carpark
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I’ll be honest. We booked this room due to its price back in April... The room was decently priced but we did not fully understand exactly how little there was to do in November. We gave them our flight info and we were expecting to get picked up at the airport but nobody showed, we got a taxi (20€) nobody was there but I told them (via phone & message) we just want to drop our bags off so we can go eat lunch. We were told that we could leave them unsupervised (meh) no local restaurant was opened until after 2p.
After waiting outside alone for over 2 hours we found this amazing hotel in Oia on the main strip for the exact same price however it was ACTUALLY VERY CLOSE to things that were open.
Yep, we ended up leaving our room just as the maid finished cleaning... and yes, we did lose the money for the room ($85) but we took a peak (just to see if leaving was the right decision) and the “Balcony” overlooked a few Donkeys so that’s when I knew I made a GREAT DECISION.
- Alexis (10/5): - This is a true Santorini experience. The charm of this place is off the charts and the photos don’t do it justice!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - If you’d like a different experience go there. It’s a cute studio/cave like place, in a residential area with parking space in a dirt lot near by. They leave you ground coffee and the lady checking us in gave us a room temperature water bottle as I arrived thirsty and there was nowhere near to buy water. So you on your own in this and Wifi rarely worked on my 4 days there. No amenities, no reception, it’s like you got your own Airbnb thing. Definitely not a hotel. It was an ok experience.
- Massimo (10/5): Lovely room with beautiful view - Lovely room with beautiful view. There is a bus stop at walking distance but I would suggest a mode of transport to move around the island.
- Matt (8/5): - Fantastic view. Lovely accommodation in a great spot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We loved the property very much, it was very big and beautifully decorated. The internet was very slow and at times didn’t work at all when we were trying to look up things in Santorini. Also please note that the supermarket that is 5 mins from the house is closed down and there is no market that you can walk to, you definitely have to have a car or take a taxi. Overall we had a great stay at Afoura house and we loved our visit to Santorini!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great experience! - Great experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Its nice place, near is local bus station, clean and cosy.i recomend
- Susanne (10/5): Santorini - Beautiful rustic suite in a traditional Greek style building with amazing views of the island and valley, and even donkeys nearby. The service was great, the staff (Alda) was extremely helpful. I recommend you hire a car to get around as it is very steep and hilly and a distance to bus stops or villages. With the rental car, the stay was fantastic. Bring an international drivers licence if not EU. It was hard to find, so a map, and very clear instructions emailed prior to arrival on to get there would be the only feedback on how to improve, as we are not used to the very tight laneways as streets.
- SJ (8/5): - The host was so kind and the room condition was very good
- Jude (10/5): - This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to everything but out of the hustle and bustle. It’s good to have a car, but the bus was at the bottom of the hill and short rides to the main areas. We really enjoyed the landscape and terrace with a view. The apartment was nicely decorated, well thought out, and when Joanna said to let her know if we needed anything, she meant it ! If there was anything we needed, she took care of it right away.
- Melva (10/5): - Beautiful place! Hostess is super friendly and helpful!
Top costumer service
A conseiller
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hospitable, quiet, but far - Had to end my stay early, but the hospitality was wonderful. Joanna was very sweet and helped me get settled in and help me figure out local transportation. However, as a solo traveler without a car, I'd strongly recommend staying elsewhere as it was hard to get around and the property is located up in the steep hills in the middle of the island. There is a bus stop nearby, however it is a fairly steep climb up on the main road to return back to the hotel and there aren't any sidewalks or much else nearby. The property would be great if you're not traveling alone and have a car, but as a solo traveler I personally felt quite isolated from everything (even the nearby restaurants were a 10 minute hike) as the hotel is in a quiet residential village/town. Perhaps things are a little more active during the summer, as I came during low season. That being said, I didn't really have any issues with the property itself or the service and really appreciated Joanna's warm hospitality.
- NA12 (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - The place was incredible, it was a cottage styled residence, minutes away from the airport. It was rustic and special and the room had a balcony that overlooked the plains. The temperature drops pretty low at night, but the bed had a heating pad which kept me warm pretty well. There is no front desk at this hotel and the housekeeping lady let me in ahead of time, I was very grateful for that.
- Chris (10/5): Afoura House - What a beautiful place to stay in Santorini !
The house is beautiful and rustic and the views are breathtaking. We will definitely return
