The pool was top notch and the happy hour is a great bonus. The room was clean and had everything we needed including a mini bar (free of charge for the first round!). The hotel also offered complimentary activities such as Muay Thai which we enjoyed so much. As well as a pizza making class and a cocktail making class!! Everything really was way beyond our expectations. Highly recommend ❤️ Nothing!

Les chambres sont bien entretenues et offre une belle vue face à la mer.le personnel est vraiment adorable et aux petits soins . La piscine offre une vue mer magnifique. L’hôtel est top. Je recommande J’ai une un incident qui s’est réglé rapidement sinon rien à dire .

- Veselova (10/5): Место для тех, кто любит комфорт - Хороший вай фай, чисто, убираются и меняют полотенца 2 раза в день. Вокруг лобби большой бассейн с карпами. Их много, они разные и очень красивые. Персонал дружелюбный и отзывчивый. В этом месте все сделано для комфорта и расслабления. Днем играет релакс музыка на бассейне, вечером недолго поет певица с красивым приятным голосом. Это не громко и не долго. Очень красивый вид на завтраке, бассейне и из окон. В целом, было чувство, что в этом отеле очень стараются для комфорта гостей. Один раз сходили на пляж возле отеля и мне там не понравилось. Вода мутная, дна не видно. В общем, если важен отдых именно на пляже, то нужен байк, чтобы ездить на Чавенг Ной. Дорога занимает примерно 17 минут. Там вода красивая голубая и прозрачная. Ресторанов вокруг очень мало. Поесть можно и в отеле, только в отеле не самый вкусный ресторан острова и после одного ужина там, мне больше не хотелось есть там снова. Потому что на острове есть более вкусные места. Гулять там негде. Спасает ситуацию то, что вечером шаттл возит на ночной рынок, который находится возле красивой набережной с многочисленными ресторанами, тусовочными барами и фаер шоу.

Bee was so helpful to us with my jet lag I messed up and almost booked an excursion when we were supposed to be going on a ferry to Koh Tao. She caught it right away and prevented a disaster. We would have missed the last ferry had she not been so diligent!! All the staff really made the place outstanding. Don’t get me wrong the Resort is really nice. But they made us feel so welcome and comfortable!! Thanks so much to your amazing staff. I should had written there names down 🤦🏼♀️. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning everything was delicious!! It was a good deal and so very convenient!! We also enjoyed the bar and pool the bartenders all went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our cocktails!! I would definitely recommend to book here especially if you enjoy the quietness of no kids running around Nothing we didn’t like it was a great experience

- Stephen (10/5): Amazing and welcoming place to unwind - Location is wonderful. Quiet with several bars and restaurants a short walk down the beach. Also walking distance to the road with a few local eateries and 7-11. The Room: Gorgeous sea view, incredibly comfortable bed, spacious, well-maintained, clean, and just overall beautiful. The deluxe sea view was beyond our expectations. The Pool: Amazing huge pool and area that never felt too crowded. The bean bag floats were so awesome and we dozed off in them a few times. Swim up bar was a nice touch and we enjoyed it as well. Activities: We did a morning Muay Thai class and an afternoon pizza making class. Both were cool and the staff were fun and enthusiastic. There isn’t a whole lot to do on this part of the island besides relaxing and strolling the beach so these activities were a nice change of pace. Restaurant: One of the best hotel resort breakfasts we’ve ever had. Fresh variety every day and free whole coconuts! We loved the Thai-Burmese buffet night too! Literally nothing. All was perfect

The room was also really good with a great sea view and came with all the right amenties. We would definitely return to this hotel. We loved the breakfast too and it was very comprehensive. The room service menu is very limited and the 1 time we did order room service (potato wedges) it came out not great (a bit not well cooked). But once we told them about it, they came back with the order rightly done very soon!

- Mark (10/5): Nice modern hotel - Lovely modern hotel. We stayed for 8 days but only had our breakfasts there which was very nice. If you walk down the steps at the end onto the beach (it's not really a beach because the tide comes right up to the wall), and head left or right along the coast there is a good three or four decent restaurants either way, right on the beach that you can go to. Nice hotel to chill and snooze/read books. The swimming pool is excellent to and the views across to Koh Pha Ngan are lovely. There isn't much storage room for cases. There was no vanity area/unit to do make up so you have to use the bathroom mirror. Not a big deal though.

- Sophia (8/5): Insgesamt ein schönes Hotel mit grandiosem Frühstück, mit Abzügen in der "B-Note". - Das Explorar ist wirklich ein wunderschönes Hotel. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das grandiose Frühstück, mit wirklich allem, was das Herz begehrt. Auch die Organisation (Tischzuteilung, Eier- und Kaffeebestellung) sind super gestaltet. Auch die Zimmer sind geräumig, super ausgestattet und schön hergerichtet. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist auch der Shuttle-Service zum Fisherman's Market, der jedoch nur Montag und Freitag nutzbar ist, da er an den anderen Tagen nur eine einzige Fahrt um 17 Uhr durchführt. Wir waren 9 Nächte im Explorar. In dieser Zeit wurde (nicht erkennbar) feucht geputzt, was bei einem Strandurlaub zu Staub und Sand im Zimmer führte. Die Dusche war zudem so konstruiert, dass das Wasser nie ganz ablaufen konnte, wodurch es in der Dusche stehen blieb und nach einiger Zeit unangenehm roch. Weiterhin hatten wir einen frühen Rückflug von Koh Samui gebucht (wir mussten gegen halb 7 das Hotel verlassen). Auf unsere Frage, ob wir ein Frühstückspaket haben könnten, da das offizielle Frühstück erst um 7 beginnt, wurde dies verneint. Auch sonstige Lösungsmöglichkeiten wurden verneint (bspw. einen Tag zuvor Brötchen und Obst mitzunehmen), was ich doch sehr einfallslos und besonders dafür, dass wir das Frühstück ja bezahlt hatten, sehr schade fand. Ein weiterer Service-Minuspunkt ist das Abräumen des Strand-/Poolbereichs. Wenngleich der Pool bis 22 Uhr geöffnet hat (was ein absoluter Pluspunkt ist), wird das Beachdeck um 17 Uhr abgeräumt (inklusive Kleidung und persönlicher Gegenstände der Hotelgäste und das, ohne vorher zu fragen - ein absolutes No-Go!). Es gibt dann faktisch keine Möglichkeit mehr, am Strand zu liegen um z.B. den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Natürlich ist es verständlich, dass ein Teil des Beachdecks für das Abendessen vorbereitet werden muss, allerdings sollte es auch einen Teil zum Liegen und entspannen geben (insbesondere, da das Hotel keinen Strand/Liegemöglichkeiten unterhalb der Hotelmauer hat, dort beginnt nach dem Steg direkt das Meer).

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits. Wenn man sich hauptsächlich erholen möchte, stellt dies jedoch kein Problem dar. Wichtig ist zu erwähnen, dass das Hotel zwar direkt am Strand liegt, jedoch über keine Liegestühle am Strand verfügt. Es gibt lediglich einen kleinen Zugang, über den man über eine Treppe zum Strand gelangen kann.

It’s tucked away from the busy streets so you’d probably need to Grab to most places (although there is a 7 elven close by) The only thing is the beach wasn’t really swim-ready (the water was muddy), but it all depends on the season I guess. Also the water in the pool could be a bit cooler

- Dustin (10/5): - Das Hotel ist das beste Hotel, wo wir je waren. Sei es in Europa oder in Thailand. Erst mal die Anlage mit dem Pool und der Aussicht auf das Meer (bei Meerblick Zimmer), einfach traumhaft. Auch beim Frühstücken kann man draußen sitzen und den Ausblick auf das Meer und die Palmen genießen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Essen. Zum Frühstück gab es immer eine Abwechslung und leckeres Thai-Essen. Die Qualität vom Essen war wirklich sensationell. Und das Essen ist einfach unfassbar lecker, frisch und für jeden was dabei. Auch Vegetarier:innen kommen auf ihre Kosten. Wir haben auch Mittags was gegessen und am Donnerstagabend gab es ein thailändisches, burmesisches Buffet inklusive Show. Auch da waren die Gerichte sehr lecker und wurden teilweise noch frisch zubereitet für einen. Dabei war auch der Küchenchef der sich mit den Gästen unterhalten hat und sich Zeit genommen hat. Einfach nur klasse. Besonders freundlich sind auch die Mitarbeiter als auch der Service insgesamt. Stets mit einem Lächeln es wirkt so, als haben sie Spaß an ihrer Arbeit und ein gutes Teamwork. Wir sind jetzt in einem anderen 5 Sterne Hotel und wir vermissen das EXPLORAR Hotel sehr, weil der Service und das Essen nicht annähernd so gut sind. Als auch die kostenlosen Hotelkurse kann ich nur empfehlen, wir haben Thai Boxing gemacht und wir hatten danach direkt Lust auf mehr. Reservieren im Voraus ist empfehlenswert! Generell ist die Kommunikation über die hoteleigene App easy und angenehm! Das nächste Mal kommen wir wieder in das Hotel.

Should have had some sitting sofas and a work desk. hotel was otherwise nice but THERE IS NO BEACH ACCESS the hotel is on a slight height and with high tides, it is dangerous to go directly into the water. We had to walk around the hotel to the beach . a 7 min walk but it still counts especially when it is sunny. no Beach access

We had the choice of 4 oils to be used and picked one in the beginning. The massage therapist then gave us a foot clean before brining us to the massage room. The music was lovely and calm and the whole vibe of the room was perfect. We will definitely be back on our next trip

We had a villa which offered optimum privacy including a pool but the public space is also exceptional and we enjoyed the swim up bar. There are enough other bars in and restaurants nearby without the chaos of somewhere like Chawang Beach if you want to leave the resort.

Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Es gibt leider keinen direkten Strand vom Hotel aus. Ebbe und Flut spielt natürlich eine kleine Rolle, man kann aber an die umliegenden Strände.

- michaelU9627SV (10/5): Best Resort Experience in Mae Nam - An amazing experience. We stayed 6 days but could easily have stayed longer. The weather was just perfect, staff so very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive, with eggs made to order and for dinner, the restaurant had a good range of reasonably priced Thai and western dishes. Desserts were amazing. The pool was perfect, never overcrowded and definitely make time for the 2 for 1 happy hours at 3pm each day. We had a spa room which was a great size with an outdoor area to relax and very clean and modern. If you want a place, close enough to the main sights yet quiet and away from the crowds, this is your place. Take a tour to feed and learn about the Elephants, go see the Big Buddha or just stay at the hotel and check in for a day spa treatment of the highest quality. Take advantage of the complimentary daily training/exercise sessions. I had fun with Muay Thai on the hotel roof.
- goobug (2/5): Don’t be fooled by ratings on trip advisor - On arrival escorted to room 101 - instantly requested a change due to no direct access to pool from room front, outside only multiple stairs. Pool lacks privacy, is always in the hot sun. The banana lounges are like lying on between a rock and a hard place. The room itself has no seating is small and without bedside tables to speak of. The toilet needs to be double checked for continual flush The answer from Explorar was they wouldn’t change the room and neither would Lucury Escape’s despite our request for a refund on arrival with the option to transfer to another resort even paying extra - neither Lux or Explorar were interested - so we’ve been stuck here for 14 days. On arrival at the breakfast area (alias Cole’s cafeteria) we were greeted with noise from the chairs grating on the timber floor, piped loud music and a selection of food below par. The evening menu choices were the same every night (same plastic menu presented each time) - some food OK some poor but diminished choices with no options other than Thursdays Burmese/Thai buffet The entertainment on the odd occasion consisted of Thai singers trying to sing English versions of western songs and they just don’t cut the mustard at all The so-called happy our with discount drinks runs from 1500 to 1700 - we didn’t wish to have a beer or whatever until 1700 onwards Did we mention there’s no beach here - not a sandy one anyway ! Many steps down to the sea entry straight into a rocky bottom - high tide straight into the sea from landing - forget about sunning on the beach The main pool is crowded noisy and there is no shade over it for the whole day The place isn’t worth the money and frankly we are gob snacked by all the rave reviews ! Give this over rated dive a big miss there are much better resort offerings in Koh Samui
- Singleton (10/5): PHENOMENAL!!!! You’re missing out if you don’t book. - The property is gorgeous. The gardens are beautifully kept, food top notch and service on another level. Everything was made freshly on site, including fresh pizza and pasta. The room had everything we needed. But, most importantly the staff were all phenomenal!!!! Everyone made our stay extra special. From Bee, Joy and the team in guest services, to the bar team of Harry, Min, Ivan and See Tu, as well as all the restaurant and chefs team. They made our stay what it was. Huge amount of love and respect for the entire team, you’re all amazing humans. There are also loads of great activities at the hotel around the gym and also food, if you do fancy having a day in the hotel. They also run free shuttles daily to Fisherman’s village and are very good at organising transport and excursions should you wish. Could have done with a bit more wardrobe space for two people. The jazz music by the pool could do with being either switched off or turned down volume. There are lots of places to sit where you can’t hear it.

- EllaJones0611 (10/5): A strong 4.5 star stay — just shy of perfect - We had a really lovely stay here and would happily recommend it, it’s one of those places that gets most things right. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt smooth and well thought through. The airport pickup was excellent, a really nice vehicle, and set the tone straight away. Being greeted with a flower lei and welcome drink was a great touch and made it feel properly relaxed and luxurious from the start. The setting is beautiful. The pool area in particular is a highlight, with the floating beanbags being a fun and thoughtful addition. It’s a great place to spend the day, and the bar service around the pool was good too. We stayed in a room with a small plunge pool, which was a really nice extra. The room itself was comfortable, especially the bed, although there were a few minor signs of wear and tear. Nothing major, but with a few small upgrades and better furniture on the plunge pool terrace, it could feel more in line with a true luxury standard. Housekeeping was probably the only area that could be improved. It did get done, but often quite late in the day (sometimes mid-afternoon), which wasn’t ideal. That said, it’s a relatively minor issue in the grand scheme of things. Breakfast was excellent, with a really good range of options for vegetarians, and service overall was consistently strong. We also ate at the beachfront restaurant one evening, which was a genuinely special experience and one of the highlights of the stay. Location-wise, it’s slightly more on the quiet side. We used the hotel shuttle to go to Fisherman’s Village one evening, which worked well, but taxis on Koh Samui are expensive, so I’d probably recommend getting a scooter if you plan to explore more. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. It’s not quite perfect, but it gets very close. With a few small improvements, particularly to the rooms and housekeeping, it would easily be a 5-star experience. As it stands, I’d say around 4.5.

Everything felt seamless and welcoming. We loved the location, the room, and the level of service throughout our stay. The breakfast truly exceeded our expectations. I had read a review beforehand saying it was not good enough, which made me a bit unsure, but I honestly found it fantastic. There was a wide variety for all tastes, including different types of Thai dishes, vegan options, European pastries, cereals, coconut, eggs cooked in many ways, excellent coffee with alternative milks, fresh juices, fruits, even champagne and more. It was hard to ask for anything else. There is no beach directly right in front of the hotel, but just a few steps outside (I counted 20 steps) you will find a beautiful one, so it really is not an issue at all. I highly recommend staying here and, if you can, having dinner at sunset. It is truly spectacular.

Immaculate but undermined by guests using hands instead of tongs breakfast - Perfect - the hotel manager can be seen walking around greeting guests and checking service. The breakfast is wonderful in fact the best I have had in any hotel. The service model is one every hotel should follow Welcome drink fresh coconut served in shell with the option of rum. Delicious!! Staff are so welcoming and engaging throughout your stay Room - comfortable beds. Complementary drinks and snacks. Beautiful cotton bath robes and turn down service. Pool - Floating pillows on the infinity pool. The hotel discourages the saving of sun beds with polite notices and it works. Pool beds are very comfortable Pool side music is a bit bland wish it covered all the age groups with more popular music throughout the decades. But that is just a personal choice. I find it encourages more guest interaction. The hotel is immaculate and staff work hard to make sure it is so - but it never ceases to amaze me that, despite notices, this is undermined by guests continually using their hands to pick up food at breakfast. I wish staff would politely advise them about the hygiene issues it causes. A fantastic hotel and team worth booking again
