Food and service and spa excellent. The swimming pool and gorgeous views.We experienced a lovely and very big room and slept incredibly well. The location is a few kilometres outside Kandy and that was fine for us. We used Pick me to visit the sights.

• Zwama (10/5): Buitengewoon - Dit is echt fantastisch! De poort gaat open en je voelt je zo welkom. Het is een prachtig resort, kleinschalig en met zulke lieve mensen. Onze kamer had aan twee kanten ramen, de ene zonsondergang en de ander zonsopgang. Zo wakker worden is echt te gek. Vergeet deze bijzondere plek niet te bezoeken. Van de drukte in de stad direct relaxen zodra je aan komt met heerlijk eten en top service. Alleen maar credits👌 Locatie is echt zo romantisch, mensen zijn te lief en gastvrij en de kamer groot en schoon.

The garden was well maintained. Even the swimming pool was very clean. The environment overlooking the balcony and the swimming pool is beautiful. The breakfast was very good. The staff's welcome, care and service were very high. Highly recommended.

The hotel is about 30 minutes from Kandy, which meant I ended up dining there in the evening as it is a bit far out up the hill. Unfortunately, the food felt overpriced for the quality, and the breakfast was just average.

Проведя полдня в отеле, решили изменить план нашего путешествия и остались еще на одну ночь. Полотенца хрустящие, чисто, горячая вода с хорошим напором. Очень большой, красивый и просторный номер. А отель такой живописный, что иногда можно увидеть как приезжают молодожены на фотосессию. Отдельно хочется отметить ресторан, вкусно сытно, хорошие порции, питались только здесь во время проживания в Канди. Обслуживание в отеле замечательное.

To me, the biggest value of this place is the people, starting from the owner setting the culture, continuing to the manager, receptionist, waiter, cooks, massage therapists, and cleaner. I felt welcomed and cherished by each individual here. I could see their honesty, humbleness, and hospitality. It used to be a homestay, but its main essence is still here. This is not just a beautiful and luxurious hotel with amazing service, food, rooms, and views, but above all, this place is family. I stayed here for 8 days, and this is how I genuinely felt. Thank you for taking care of me 🙏

The views were truly stunning, especially in the morning when the sun rose, but the evening lighting in the courtyard was also truly beautiful. The hotel's common areas had been carefully designed with small, beautiful details in mind and everything was truly clean. The service was first-class, even for Sri Lanka, and the food was also good. The best value for money on our entire Sri Lanka trip. The hotel was quite empty during our visit, so we were upgraded to the presidential suite. The suite itself was beautiful, but just a large hotel room with a lot of empty space, I'm sure the regular rooms would have been good too. nothing to complain about at all, everything was first class

Really calm, luxurious, modern clean and friendly hotel with beautiful garden, pool and views. We are incredibly grateful to them for upgrading us to the Presidential room! By the way, contrary to previous reviews they do serve beer! Nothing. I just wish we stayed longer!

The staff were incredibly accommodating from the moment we checked in, providing us with a beautifully decorated Super Deluxe Room that was impeccably maintained with all the necessary amenities. The highlight of our stay was the outdoor candlelight dinner; the setup was breathtaking and created a memory we will cherish forever. Both the dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious. What truly stands out is the staff—from the reception to the restaurant, everyone was professional, friendly, and genuinely attentive to our needs. The environment is remarkably calm with a stunning scenic view of the mountains. Although we were recovering from a viral flu and couldn't enjoy the infinity pool this time, the peaceful atmosphere was exactly the "healing" we needed. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a high-quality, tranquil, and memorable experience. Honestly, there was nothing to dislike. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Our only regret was being too unwell to enjoy the beautiful infinity pool, but that gives us a perfect reason to return in the future!

I was eventually told they didn't have a liquor license. For a beautiful hotel, this is very odd and potential guests should be aware of this.If this wouldn't bother you, then this is a lovely place to stay....although further outside of Kandy than I realised.

• lisabD3766GW (10/5): Luxury, Peace and excellent food! - We were here for 3 nights and could very happily have stayed longer! The room was spacious (with double aspect beautiful views) and peaceful. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced with soft and impeccably clean linen. We had a balcony area outside and a seating area inside. Everything was pristine and worked. From the moment we arrived, staff were very attentive. They helped us to organise a driver (Thiwanka - who was excellent) to take us to Sigiriya for a day trip (Lion's Rock and Dambulla Caves), a tour of Kandy the following day and to drive us to Hatton which was our next destination. The food in the restaurant was really good. Table service for dinner; likewise for breakfast on occasions when there weren't any other guests. My husband enjoyed a massage (I would have done too if we could have stayed longer) and we saw other guests enjoy the pool (which looked clean) and the garden. My only suggestion for improvement would have been to have more storage space (a wardrobe perhaps) but this wasn't a big deal since we only had a short stay. I would definitely recommend The Elegant Hotel if staying (just outside) of Kandy!

Couldn’t ask for anymore. All you had to do is ask and the staff at the hotel were only too happy to help. Both had a massage when we arrived which was very relaxing. Hotel arranged our travel to Ella with stops. Fantastic. 10/10

• Steven (10/5): - We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this small hotel in the hills just outside Kandy. What a joy to be away from the noise and pollution of the centre of town! Our room was huge and luxurious with excellent air-conditioning, mini fridge and a spacious modern bathroom with an exceptionally good shower. We also had access to a large outside terrace with magnificent sunset views. The staff were all so gracious and accommodating; special thanks to Roshan who looked after us so well in the dining room. We ate at the hotel both nights- they have a menu including Sri Lankan and international food which was freshly cooked and delicious ( especially the beetroot and fish curries!) Breakfast was also excellent and we were delighted to try the local natural curd yoghurt with our fruit (yogurt being something we hadn’t been offered previously in Sri Lanka. )The hotel also has a lovely pool terrace with loungers and offers an efficient laundry service. Overall a 5- star stay- highly recommended!

I personally can’t say this is a 5-star experience The lizard in the room after informing them I’m allergic to insects and creepy crawly… we were three and had only one shower gel one soap one water bottle 😳🤷🏻‍♀️

• Francesca (8/5): Es war nett - Wer Ruhe sucht ist hier richtig, jedoch braucht es eine gute halbe Stunde ins Zentrum von Kandy. Das Personal bemüht sich sehr. Das Personal kann teilweise sehr schlecht Englisch, dadurch kam es zu Missverständnissen. In meinem Zimmer hatte es noch einen sehr alten Teppichboden drin. Allgemein riechen die Zimmer etwas nach Feuchtigkeit. Es fehlen ein paar Sonnenschirme beim Pool.

• Samuel (10/5): Beautiful scenic stay - Elegant Hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views, and the pool area is especially lovely - a great place to relax away from noise of the city. The hotel feels peaceful and well maintained, and overall we really enjoyed the atmosphere. A special mention to Roshan, who provided genuinely excellent service. He was attentive, friendly, and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. His professionalism and kindness really stood out and made our stay even better. My partner and I also had an amazing full body massage which we would definitely recommend Nothing, everything was to our liking.

• Stephen (7/5): This is a good choice of hotel which could be a great choice if attetion was paid to details - Room was impressive on first appearance and maintained this appearance largely. Garden, pool area and public areas all lovely. Staff mostly excellent especially Roshan whom we dealt with mostly. Food good to very good and service very good also After initial impression the little flaws mounted. You notice small areas of the building left unfinished. No hand towels provided and told the face flannels were hand towels- No! Apart from a few soft drinks only 1 type of Lion beer and 1 red wine on offer- really in a hotel! Then the beer was served tepid and had to ask twice before they chilled it properly. Failed to come to fix tv on request until I had to go to reception. No butter only margarine at breakfast and when butter was request told they had none - a hotel kitchen that has NO butter - really again!These and odd other little things mounted up to leave the feeling that every effort to impress had been made up to a point and then they stopped bothering

Le lit était très confortable nous y avons parfaitement bien dormi. Dommage que les rideaux ne soit pas occultant c’est tout ce que j’ai à redire.

Very helpful and kind staff, incredible service - really cared that we had everything we needed. They tailored the curry to our tastes and the food was amazing! Very high quality at a very good price. I only wish we had longer than one night there in our busy itinerary as they had an Ayurvedic treatment room, and cookery demonstrations! Perfect! I honestly shed a tear at the beauty of the view 🤩 The pool isn’t heated and I’m a chicken these days!

• Chris (8/5): Stunning mountain location near Kandy - Stunning rural location - might not suit people wanting city buzz but if you are wanting peaceful surroundings with incredible views close to Kandy then we highly recommend. Staff were very friendly, wecoming & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Due flight delays we didn't arrive until 9.30pm. We were served welcome drinks and the chef cooked us a very good meal. The garden and valley are full of varied & beautuful birds. We also saw mongoose, lizards, chipmunks and had monkeys run across the roof one night! Our room had no wardrobe or hooks to hang clothes.

• Tom (10/5): Heerlijk verblijf in de buurt van Kandy - Het hotel ligt op een fantastisch mooi locatie. Het heeft een mooie tuin met zwembad met mooi uitzicht, waar het heerlijk toeven is. De kamer is mooi, ruim en comfortabel. Het personeel is bijzonder vriendelijk en gastvrij. Ontbijt en diner zijn ruim voldoende en van goede kwaliteit. Er is weinig wat ons niet beviel, maar klein puntje is dat de kamer niet wordt schoongemaakt.
