Ero con mia moglie ed i miei figli alle 2 di notte e le ho detto che ero appena arrivato nel paese e che non avevo contanti in moneta locale. La discussione è andata avanti a lungo. Mi ha chiesto di andare in cerca di un ATM a quell'ora. Mi sono rifiutato promettendo di farlo la mattina appena sveglio. Ha continuato a fare storie dicendo che avrei dovuto portare con me dei Bat. Una situazione surreale. Le ho lasciato i soldi in euro come cauzione. Non era ancora contenta. Stranamente la mattina dopo ho potuto pagare con la MasterCard. Molto strano
• Brett (7/5): We would defiantly still stay here as the location is great and the rooms are clean. - The rooms were very clean and the location is close to the airport which suited us. The rooms are quite noisy. We could hear quite a lot of movement from the room above such as chairs scraping the floor and voices in the hallway are load and echo. We had a group of people with about 4 rooms down the hall and they were extremely noisy.

Authentic area where locals live. Staff attentive. For a short night stop for flying on the next day a very good option. I couldn't taste the breakfast, because I left very early the day after. Though the hotel is not so far away from the airport, a bit complicated to get there. By grab takes more than 20 minutes, price about 7 Euros one way, but if one thinks, there are not many options in the airport area for a reasonable price it is a very good option.

• Suzie (2/5): Avoid this place - Really didn't like much at all about this hotel. I can say that the shower was hot and that it's only 15 mins from BKK Miserable unfriendly staff.... The only miserable Thai people,, I've met on my travels. The place is extremely grubby and needs a lot of refreshing. The bed was the hardest and most uncomfortable I've ever slept on ( or not slept!!) The sheets smelt vile, like they had been sprayed with the most awful air freshener! Don't bother with breakfast, it was inedible, congealed and disgusting. I fail to understand the positive reviews ( which is why I booked) Having travelled around Thailand for a month, this is the only hotel that sadly I have had to leave a bad review for. AVOID!

• Verified traveler (4/5): - We had to wait for close to 2 hours for the free shuttle. We arrived at 11:20 PM and the van to take us to the hotel did not arrive until 1:10 AM. Also when we arrived at the hotel the booking for 1 room and 2 beds was changed to have 1 room and 1 bed since all the rooms with 2 beds were filled even though I had a reservation for a room with 2 beds. The breakfast was cold and tasteless.

We didn’t have much time to look and most places near the airport were fully booked as it was the Chinese NY, so we had to go for this hotel. We only needed somewhere to stay for transit, between 6am-3pm. It was a nightmare to find anything for that period. All the hotels we rang didn’t do short stay, including Sunny Residence. So we had to book 2 nights stay! The price was quite cheap, so we didn’t mind. The room they gave us was very decent, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Service was good, checking in was easy. Staffs were polite and helpful. The free buffet breakfast that came with the room was ok, can’t really complain when the room was that cheap. The location was great for Suvarnabhumi Airport. Can’t comment on the local area as we didn’t go out to explore. All in all, we would stay here again.

• Ian (8/5): - The hotel was very conveniently located near the airport, perfect for an overnight stay before flying out the next day. The room was basic but comfortable, with a large bed and basic amenities provided. Food was cheap and ok, with an international and local menu available.

Strange experience when I tried to raise that the extra 100 baht I had paid for a transfer had not resulted in that service, because no staff had replied to my email (the website says 24 hours for replies, but i got nothing in 36... so i turned up at the airport and had to pay for a taxi). First of all, attempts to deny it, then "wait until morning", then "ok we can give you breakfast instead but last night's staff will have to pay for it!". It is the latter which i really object to. What kind of management would want to give this message to a simple, polite customer. Truly, it was a simple error by someone, not to reply.. there is no need to threaten reception staff about it (when the manager concerned had not done any investigation, was not present, did not speak English etc).... 100 baht was not a big deal; simply smile and say sorry, and sure, offer a free breakfast, but don't punish the lowest level of hierarchy, it leaves a bad taste when such things are mentioned

Which I think it's for the best that people know before coming to the hotel. Not when they are there and asking them stupid Question such as you must check in 2 pm or wait 12 pm before getting a room. Booking a hotel today they will expecting you to check in the following day. How they clean room is bit funny.

• Steve (10/5): Exceeded expectations - After reading all of the negative reviews, I figured I was in for a miserable experience. That turned out to not be the case at al. I would like to address three areas in particular that were commonplace: Rude hotel staff, poor facilities, and airport shuttle pickup. First, about the rude staff: I can see why people might have this impression, but my take is that they were simply over-worked. I made an effort to be really nice to them first, and they responded in kind. I suspect that an overworked staff dealing with exhausted and stressed travelers day in and day out is a recipe for a lot of problems in general. Second, poor facilities: There were things like a loose door handle, installation instruction stickers on the bathroom sink, and other indicators that the place was put together rapidly. It also had pretty thin walls. Still, none of these things made the room feel unsafe or dirty. In fact the room was quite clean. Now the airport shuttle system needs serious work, but that appears to be the airport's fault mostly. Yes, it is a pain to find the right shuttle location and deal with the pickup (as well as the proper "Left Baggage" counter for storing you luggage), but that's not at all the hotel's fault. Probably thanks to all of the critical reviews, I came in with super low expectations and was really surprised by how pleasant the hotel turned out to be. DO make sure and buy any needed snacks/supplies at the airport before getting on the shuttle.
• Brandon Levasseur (2/5): Horrible, not as advertised - No welcome drink even when you pay for it in advanced. There is no dry cleaning or room service ever, that is a lie. There so called cafe and resteraunt is the same thing. It is more like a cafeteria setting, were you literally have to get your own drink. The bar lounge is an overpriced bar will a patio and deck.... outside hot and swarming with mosquitos. They staff was rude at the front desk, almost irritated when asked questions and unconvinced when you wanted your free breakfast vouchers. Don't think you can check in early, or out late either. They are quick to charge you for everything here. The food was bland and the breakfast was horrible. The room lacked many things, no hand soap, hand towels, drinking glasses, ice bucket, hangers. The room phone worked only sometimes, and don't expect to be able to get more towels or pillows, you will be refused. No extra key, so your room power turns off when you leave, so when you return it's sweltering hot from no air conditioning. All around experience was horrible.... never again
• terence (6/5): Service terrible, especially at breakfast!!!!!! - My god! Check in was ok although he showed no enthusiasm in communication ! It’s was painful! It got worse as the breakfast receptionist was dreadful, said nothing and barely acknowledged anyone! So I’ll not go there again! Bell boy ok but by the time he took me to my room then advised me I could of got an airport pick up instead of walking there!! Well I was not happy! Rooms very good but without the service not worth a lot, only stay if you have too!!!
• jim (6/5): Great place to stay if you need a room for a day. - Rooms are clean with nice bathrooms, a few ants and mosquitos. Very close to the airport. Halls echo bad at night bring earplugs, and hotel staff won’t call you a taxi for some reason, but they have a shuttle service to airport.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Good stop over hotel for the airport - Stayed for one night on my way to Koh Tao. Not far from the airport at all and transfers were included in the room rate. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The shower was only lukewarm but warm enough to shower. There was airconditioning too. We ate in the hotel. There was a good selection of food and it was tasty for the price. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others
• Richard (4/5): Sunny Residence Bangkok - I had booked this hotel in advance for 2 nights and in the customer request page I had asked for a room near a strong wi-fi signal and also as I was arriving late at night to Bangkok I had asked for a shuttle pick up from the airport as it would be very long day for me and I would need to get to hotel and rest....to confirm all these before I arrived to Thailand I asked one of my Thai friends to call and confirm the airport pick up location and gave my flight details as I didn't wanted to wait around...After I arrived to to airport went to pick up location and waited almost an hour waiting to see the hotel shuttle but no was there to pick me up so I got myself a Thai sim card and called the hotel and asked what happened with my pick up they said I had to go to shuttle pick up registration location and ask someone there to request a shuttle and when I went there hotel's name was not written in full but only SUNNY and 2 other names as the hotel has 3 different named hotels at the same place and all 3 names were written under each other looking at the board it didn't make any sense or description of SUNNY RESIDENCE anyway after 1 hour and 45min. later I was in the hotel and again there I asked room with a good wi-fi signal but I was given a room on the top floor (5th) and the corner room longest possible distance from the wi-fi rooter...I THINK IT WAS DISGUSTING AND A VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE...So they lost a customer and I would never book in that hotel again...
• VikD (10/5): Excellent Value for Money - I booked this hotel as I had an early morning arrival and my hotel in Bangkok city was booked for the following day. My room was reasonably big and was neat and clean with all the mod coms. The air conditioning was very effective and the morning breakfast was not bad either. All in all excellent value for money.

• V (2/5): Book somewhere else - Check in process was not good. I booked one night a room with a queen bed and a twin bed for 3 people, however, because I accidentally did not indicate there would be 3 guests they charged us additional. I tried to explain, but they would not budge. The additional fee would have rented friend a room for himself, but I didn't notice that until after the fact. After check in I came downstairs to ask for massage service. There were 4 staff at the reception, but no one acknowledge me for some time. Two were busy checking in guests. Two were just looking at what the other two were doing. Finally, after 10-15 mins, one of the ladies asked what I needed. I asked for their massage service and they told me they had to call to check. My guess is they hire outside service. They then told me no one was available. Why post it if you do not have anyone in house? Hotel in residential area. Hotel, restaurant, and decor were OK. Room was decent size, clean, but you cannot leave the bathroom door open or you'll be eaten alive by mosquitoes. They have a sign by the door too. Free shuttle to airport was the only plus.

• jimmie (8/5): Airport transfer - Late arrival to Bangkok...2am to hotel. Staff was help full and even had a porter at that hour. Off to Bang Saray at 9am in the morning so turn around was perfect and close to airport.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Beware of fines in this hotel - Beware of this hotel. They have placed ashtrays in some of their rooms and without a "no smoking" sign. I smoked in the balcony and threw my cig butts in the ashtray provided by the hotel. On the check out day I was asked to pay a fine of 2000baht before I could leave. I felt extorted by this hotel. Ive told them that there wasnt any no smoking signs and ashtray is provided in the room. Minutes later someone came down to the reception and showed me a no smoking sign, and insisted that the sign was from the room, and ridiculously they insisted that the ashtray was brought by myself. After about an hour of arguments and verification by one kind staff, she was kind enough to help me out and she went up to other rooms and found out that ashtrays were too found in other rooms without no smoking signs. She argued to the management for me instead and finally I do not have to pay the fine. Guys, do watch out and be warned.
• Thomas (8/5): Hotel near BKK - Second stay at Sunny, a very pleasant hotel with nice staff, the area surrounding it is not very developed but no was no issue for me, local thai food is good. The hotel and room is modern and clean and minimal. I would recommend the hotel for anyone going to and from BKK airport.
• Verified traveler (6/5): To isolated, they won’t get you a Taxi - I have been to this hotel several times mainly just for a few hours before flights once I stayed overnight .for the money it is very good ,however now there are some changes it is not one hotel there is Sunny Hotel ,Airy hotel and now a third hotel,I forget the name, ?they are all the same all fairly new,the reason I was not happy this time is ,I was with my fiancé ,previously she has come with me and stays just for one or two hours before she has to catch her flight from a different airport, the hotel used to ring for a taxi to take her where she wanted to go now they have stopped the service they say they cannot ring for Taxi‘s because they’ve had problems ,so they had to take her back to the airport where she could optain a Taxi they charged me 150 baht for this even though we had returned transfers ,these hotels are quite isolated there is nothing much around ,so I don’t think even for a few hours I will come here again ,there are so many other hotels in the area
• Daniel (10/5): - Stayed at Sunny Residence, looks like owned and run by the nearby Airy Hotel. New building. Have restaurant inside, and street food nearby at night. Small roads to get to here, and the neighbourhood is very local feel. Has shuttle to airport.

• 840rasta (8/5): first three nights - was very restful. the one thing that bugged me was the energy monitor card. everytime you leave, you have to take card, so no cool room to come back to or charged cell phone....
• ozman (10/5): nice clean hotel and friendly staff - Hotel facilities and services were beyond my expectations. Based on my previous experiences and the given the price I paid, I have had quite low expectations but what I got was a nice surprise for me. Won't hesitate to book again with them or to recommend to others.
• Mike (4/5): One night only - Passable for one night if you have an early flight as we did. Allowed us an early check-in, which was great. Unfortunately the sheets were dirty and the hotel was very noisy, being woken up multiple times in the middle of the night. Get what you pay for...
• KISHORE (10/5): - good to stay in this hotel. quality food and clean rooms
• Parinya (6/5): Ok stay - Ok stay not too good not too bad for the price we have paid for.
