Guest Reviews
- Rodney (10/5): - One of the most beautiful homes and areas I’ve ever been too. Everything was beautiful and breakfast was delicious. If I have a chance to go again I will.
- Nathaniel (8/5): - Beautiful property, beautiful farm and great old House. Farm store right next by was great also. However, no TV in our room and the TV downstairs wasn’t working, also no WiFi at all. I understand getting away from it all in the beautiful country, but to have no internet was disappointing. The breakfast was made and left in fridge before we arrived. It was a tasty plate of cold cuts, fruit , cheeses. A nice hot breakfast featuring eggs and meats from their farm would have been a lot more fun. There is a great assortment of snacks, sweets and beverages throughout the home so you never go hungry.
- Diane (10/5): - Cold breakfast plates were provided. Included fresh fruit and meats. Homemade bake goods were delicious.
- Saulius (10/5): - Its gorgeous place in the middle of nowhere.
I recommend it to everyone looking for peace and quiet to stay.
Great breakfast!
Close to wineries, breweries and hiking trails!
- Ben (10/5): - An amazing room and house surrounded by rolling pastures. So peaceful and quite. It was perfect and will absolutely come back again!
- Pablo (10/5): - Great place for a relaxing weekend. There is no staff in the premises, but everything worked out just fine. A nice and delicious breakfast was left in the refrigerator and one had everything that was needed. Beautiful historic building, ample rooms and wonderful surroundings.
- Sherry (10/5): - Beautiful 1816 Mansion. Very quiet and serene, a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We will be back!
- Duwayne (10/5): Great weekend escape - What a nice get away place from the city busy life. The charcuterie plate is a new-ish breakfast offering. Apparently they changed from a truly wonderful colonial/British hot breakfast to the plating. I’m truly mixed on the offering as I was at first skeptical of it. However, the next morning I explored it with an open mind and it hit the spot. Yogurt was fantastic, the mix of fruit is nice, hard boiled egg, great cheese, and meats. It was delightful,
Yes, I did miss the hot breakfast but this was surprisingly great. Every detail is executed perfectly. This is a place one should choose first and simply enjoy.
- Dawn (10/5): - Cute Historic Home...felt very welcoming loved being able to explore the farm. They made your stay extremely pleasant eith continental breakfast in the room and little treats downstairs. Bonus was the opportunity to buy their farm made products in their store on property
- David (10/5): - Lovely
- Valerie (10/5): Honeymoon Get-A-Way - Absolutely lovely stay. Everything is clean, fresh, and well kept. Plenty of things to do in the area and on the grounds. Friendly owners and fresh Breakfasts. Would definitely love to return some day.
- Valerie (10/5): Honeymoon retreat - Exquisitely Beautiful and was the perfect honeymoon get-away. The romance package was a great add-on. Every is freshly made and Friendly family. The little store is in a nice, convenient location. The Wellford Room was a perfect choice for us with a en-suite bathroom.
- Duwayne (10/5): Far above excellent - A really nice stay. I normally do not stay at bed and breakfasts, but this experience I raised the bar and met every potential expectation. The breakfast was over the top. The rooms take you back to colonial times with modern amenities, with grace and style. This experience was a great weekend get away. For me, I would have preferred scones with jam and clotted cream vs the buttermilk biscuit. It was still grand, and just a personal preference. Again, an amazing stay.
- Tristan (10/5): - It was quiet and private. We loved the farm setting.
- Catherine (10/5): Charming and quiet stay on the farm - We loved our stay at Smithfield Farm B&B. The hosts were friendly and breakfast was spectacular. The bedroom and bathroom were very large and the bed was superbly comfortable. Highlight was watching the cows and sheep in the pastures.
- Richard (10/5): - Amazing!!!
- DesertHikerGirl (10/5): - Excellent bed and breakfast! We highly recommend and plan to return. Betsy, the Inn keeper, thought of everything. With our late arrival, she had hot tea, cookies, candy and snacks waiting for us. The Smithfield property is an organic farm so breakfast consisted of fresh eggs, honey, and ham from the farm. Betsy served fresh biscuits, with homemade jam... The rooms are large, comfortable and beautiful. We highly recommend Smithfield Farm B&B!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the Summer Kitchen Cottage. It’s very cute and very quiet with lots of interested decorative items. I don’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues. To get to the bedroom and bathroom, there’s a narrow winding staircase. The owners are very friendly and the breakfast is nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful home and property. Very inviting and tranquil setting. Great place to reacquaint with the south and friends. Breakfast was delish! History from host was enthralling! Twin oaks tavern and winery nearby was great fun!
- paul s. (10/5): Perfect Retreat - Incredible accommodations in a 200 year old family homestead. Peaceful and beautiful setting with friendly and knowledgeable hosts. Will definitely stay here again when visiting the Lucketts Spring Fair.
