- Andrea (10/5): I WAS THERE JUST FOR ONE NIGHT TO VISIT HAHOE FOLK VILLAGE AND LOOK AROUND IN ANDONG. - COFFE IS VERY GOOD. THEY ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. ROOM AND BAD IS PERFECT CLEAN. TOILET SEAT IS HEATING. EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM IS PERFECT. AND IN THE BATHROOM TOO. 15-20 MINTUES BY WALKT TO THE BUS STATION. THEY HELP ME IN EVERYTHING. I DIDN'T LIKE THE ENVIROMENT.

- Peled (7/5): Worth the price, cat smell but pretty - wouldn’t stay again - A really beautiful place, nice and cozy and there are so much extra equipped you will get: facial cleanser, chargers you can borrow to use, great sour kit. That drinks at the coffee place are also 10% off and the breakfast is very decent. The rooms are pretty clean as well and the Japanese toilet is a nice addition. The main thing I think is the location. Although it’s pretty near to the bus terminal, I think it’s not a real good location and pretty further from everything. The thing is it is less expensive so it kind of depends on your preferences but if you have a car, I think actually it’s perfect. Another thing is the cats are really cute and a great addition to the place, but there is cat hair everywhere, and quite strong smell at the coffee shop. Also, they wouldn’t inform you. Where is the guest free area and also not informing me about the laundry machine they have. I do think they could be more informative, especially because if you want to sit at the coffee place, you’ll have to pay at least for one drink, also something I think guess of the guest house doesn’t need to pay. I also think that they could be more informative about the different tourist things there are to do at the area and the ways you can get there without putting too much effort with the communication from the guest side.

- GWENAEL (8/5): Bon séjour - Proche de la gare KTX. Surclassé dans une chambre Family avec deux grands lits séparés, grand séjour. Il y a un appareil pour masser vos pieds et mollets 😊😊. Eau café thé à volonté. Très loin de la ville ! Petit déjeuner très succinct et uniquement de 8h a 9h.

Petit déjeuner trop leger, tout est en suplement si vous désirez un café au lait par exemple .. Horaires à respecter trop stricts (petit déjeuner entre 8 et 9 h seulement) Une salle réservée à des chats "en vitrine" .. car enfermés
- Karen Gault (8/5): A cozy and lovely place in Andong - It us such a lovely place, well decorated with plenty of books, good music, nice furniture and a very cozy atmosphere - plus the beautiful cats adding to the serenity of this place. It is a bit far from the city center and places to see if you don´t have a car. Faisable by bus without problem though.

- simona (9/5): מקום מתוק - אחד ממקומות האירוח המתוקים שהייתי בהם, בקומה התחתונה יש בית קפה מקסים וספרייה ענקית. יש גם מכונת כביסה לשירות המתארחים. קצת קשה להגיע אליו ולצאת ממנו. האוטובוס הקרוב במרחק 10 דק הליכה ואם הולכים לתחנת רכבת עם המזוודה זה כבר 20 דק. מצד שני מוניות לא מתלהבות לקחת לשם כי זה קרוב להן מדי… למי שמגיע עם רכב זה מיקום מצוין

Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale, staff gentilissimo e posto veramente carino ed accogliente. - Tutto, dalla parte estetica, alla gentilezza dello staff, alla presenza dai gatti. L’unica pecca è solo la posizione, un po’ distante dal centro della città. Ma a poca distanza è presente la fermata del bus con il quale si può arrivare in tutte le zone di interesse della città.

- Lucy (8/5): nice spot for a short stay - adorable library hostel with very friendly staff. the rooms are relatively clean, & very cosy. the breakfast is at 8:30am, & has a nice selection of toast with jam or cheese & eggs, & fruit. there’s instant coffee or you can buy a nice coffee at the cafe with a 10% discount. there are lots of cats around! they’re only in the downstairs cafe area, not in the sleeping area but if you don’t like cats or are allergic, be aware. I also recommend trying the andong beer served at the cafe, the golden ale was delicious. I was a little shocked at how far the hostel is from the town centre. to get to town centre you have to walk 10-15 minutes to the bus terminal, & then take the bus for another 20-25 minutes. it’s fine but it takes a moment to get used to. you can also travel to the hahoe village & bongjeongsa temple from the station.

- Dušan (9/5): - We stayed here during a busy travel period when almost everything was already reserved, so we actually changed rooms every night for three nights, but the friendly and professional staff helped make it as simple as possible. All the rooms had comfortable beds, and the family ondol room had a foot massage machine, and otherwise we used the massage machine in the lounge. (What a great touch!) The breakfast was large and a reasonable time, always making for a good start of the day. In the shared rooms, I would redo the shelving to optimize space and allow for at least a partial unpacking, and I would annotate the light switches.

- Dan (4/5): - נפריד בין בית הקפה והספריה למלון מלון - החדר הגדול בו שהינו היה מאובזר ומרוהט יפה. המכשיר לעיסוי הרגלים היה נפלא לאחר טיול ארוך. המזרון היה טוב. המלון מציע מגוון של ארוחות מהירות כמו נודלס או קארי לרכישה עצמית. הדלתות של המלון נסגרות ב23:00 אין כניסה ויציאה משעה זו. בית הקפה- קונספט מעניין ומרוהט יפה. מחירים טיפה גבוהיים 10% הנחה לשוהים במלון. מגוון יפה של אלכוהול וקינוחים מועטים החדר לא היה מאוורר. המצעים שעל המיטות היו עדויים מחומר שאינו נושם מה שהפך את החוייה לפחות נעימה. המלון ממומקם במרחק של 2-5 דקות נסיעה ממרכז העיר או מהחנות הקרובה ולא נמצא במרחק הליכה סביר. אז נכון שתעדו קניות לפני הגעה. הבית קפה הוא קפה חתולים!! למי שזה מפריע שחיפש מקום אחר. הנוכות והריח של החתולים בכל מקום
- Aude (8/5): Un petit coin paisible - Guesthouse atypique. Très agréable, donne envie de se détendre avec un bouquin, des jeux tout en buvant une boisson chaude. Nous avions le dernier étage (cinq personnes) l'espace était tout à fait adapté. Être attentif à l'emplacement. Pr le bus c'est très bien mais pour se déplacer un peu plus long. Il faut le prendre en compte. De même pour dîner le soir, anticiper. Ceci dit, le propriétaire a accepté de nous faire à manger en dehors des heures habituelles , merci à lui !

Caffetteria fornita di tavoli e poltrone con la possibilità di rimare a leggere o a lavorare al pc anche di sera. I gatti sono il valore aggiunto, bellissimi e dolcissimi. Ci tornerei sicuramente.

Ha un'impostazione più da ostello, ma è comunque dotato di alcune camere private. La nostra era di buone dimensioni e con un bel bagno. Colazione inclusa (anche se decisamente basic). In generale è un posto che dà delle belle vibes, con una personalità molto particolare. La grande pecca è che la pulizia della camera è sicuramente da migliorare. Da considerare anche che senza un'auto a disposizione, non è comodo da raggiungere (fuori dal centro).

On n'a plus envie de partir. Le personnel est aimable et réservé, efficace et bienveillant. Les chambres sont propres et impeccables. Au début quand on arrive on se demande où l'on atterrit car l'hôtel paraît excentré mais il n'est qu'à 10 min à pied de la station de bus et il est très aisé d'aller au centre ville également en bus. Vous apprécierez de revenir pour un moment de détente dans la librairie. Bref ..je recommande. Rien

- Gabriela (7/5): Good, but needs few changes - - lots of cats - free laundry - free, simple, but tasty breakfast - more cats - great, cozy common rooms: microwave, instant ramen machine, purified water, foot massager!! - nice cafe on the 1st floor - quiet, cozy place - poor WiFi in the room, worked well only near the door and in the common room - very small room, no space for your baggage and clothes - annoying sheeting, it wasn’t nice in touch and was falling off the mattress - poor location, it’s far to get anywhere - even though we love cats, in some places it stinked really bad with cat pee - breakfast time was really short, only 8:00-9:00 am, also we needed to check out earlier our last day and the day before we asked if we could eat our breakfast 10 mins earlier and it wasn’t possible - a lot of things that are free in other places here aren’t - you have to pay for coffee to breakfast, for disposable bath accessories - the staff wasn’t really nice, we didn’t feel welcome

- Shweeny (7/5): Ungünstige Lage - Wir hatten ein kleines familienzimmer. Es gab nur einen kleinen Tisch als Ablagemöglichkeit. Bad war ok mit kostenfreiem Shampoo und duschgel. Frühstück war ok mit Toast Butter und gekochten eiern und cornflakes. Lage: sehr abseits von allem - unbedingt Mietwagen organisieren! Es sind zu Fuß mind 15 Minuten zum Bus und es fährt auch nicht oft ein Bus zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Man konnte im Bücher Cafe nur sitzen wenn man dort auch was bestellt .... fand ich schade denn meine Tochter wollte unten mit den Katzen spielen und kam zurück weil sie was kaufen sollte....

- Susanne Lichtenberg (9/5): - Tolle Lage, weil fußläufig zum Busterminal, der alle Sehenswürdigkeiten ansteuerte die wir sehen wollten. Tolles Familienzimmer und süßes Café mit süßen Katzen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich aufgenommen und es fehlte uns an nichts.
- Charley (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf in een relaxt hostel - Combinatie van een hotel, kattencafe en bibliotheek pakte heel goed uit. Eigenaar supervriendelijk en hij had zijn katten heel goed onder controle. Tijdens ontbijt zaten ze in hun eigen kamer. Bus terminal is op 10 min lopen Als ik iets moet noemen dan is het 23u sluitingstijd en dan moet je dus binnen zijn. Wij waren met gezin dus niet zo erg.

- Hélène (8/5): - Bon séjour dans cette auberge/librairie - confortable, on se sent comme dans une maison, SDB propre à la chambre avec deux douches et deux toilettes, petit déjeuner vrmt sympathique dans l'espace librairie avec les chats ! J'ai aussi pu laisser mes bagages après le check out. Balcon hyper sympa. Très bel endroit cosy, l'espace librairie donne envie d'y passer les journées de pluie ! Difficultés pour communiquer en anglais avec les hôtes mais avec google traduction et la Sympathie des hôtes ça ne pose pas de problèmes ! Lits sans rideaux, ça sentait un peu le pipi de chat mais pas dans la chambre! Slmt pour ceux qui ne sont pas fan des chats il faut prendre cela en compte.

- Nguyen (9/5): Superb - I like the nature atmosphere, the homestay is very close to Andong Station (1km). The host is very nice. About 5km away from the city centre. You need to take bus, taxi to get there.
- Zachary (10/5): The perfect place to stay for cat lovers. - So many cats. It's like staying in a cat cafe without the time limit (except the cats go to their own room at night). I didn't notice any smell or other hygiene issue with the cats. The room was comfy and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions or support I needed. I'm not used to staying at places with curfews, so I didn't like the time limit on returning to the hostel (not that it mattered, there's not much nightlife around). There was a book club having a meeting in the common area and I was told to go eat elsewhere in the hostel, even though there was also a downstairs room in the common area I could have dined in.

- Julia (10/5): Fabolous Hostel , don’t loose the experience of staying here . - All excellent , the rooms , the resting areas , the cafe …. so clean , so beautiful , the breakfast so great …you just want to stay in the middle of all this books and cats . It’s walking distance of the train and buses …it’s not in the center of town but with the bus you are there in 20m . Anyhow all the tourist’s attractions are out of the city , meaning you need to get the bus always . I stayed 3 nights and it was great to recharge in order to continue travelling …Thanks

Close to the bus and train station (8 to 10 min) You can visit from the bus station all the atractions out of the city The only thing is situate on the outskirts of the city, however is so peacefull. - Lindsay (6/5): Uncomfortable despite warm welcome - Friendly welcome and helpful explanations. Compact room but everything that was needed was inside, warm and plenty of hot water. Parking available but only 3 spaces on site, more parking on road available. No lift. Too many cats, but kept out of hostel at breakfast time. If you are allergic to cats this is not the place for you. Bed had plastic sheets and duvet cover, very uncomfortable as they make you sweat. Hostel is in a strange location and not near any food shops or transport hubs, so anyone back-packing will have difficulties.

- Akvilė (9/5): Superb - The atmosphere in the whole guest house is so warm and welcoming and the library on the firts floor, which also functions as a caffe, was very lively. Our room was very spacious and had all needed and more, including big windows overseeing the panorama outside. It is a lovely place I would recommend for all, who want an engaging and warm stay!

- Clara (10/5): A hotel that feels like home - It was the third time I came to Andong Poong-gyung hostel. I love this place, filled with books, cats and adorable people. We met many friends there and visited Hahoe Village as well as Andong City Center. The hotel is very close to the train station and bus terminal. The neighbourhood is quiet but shops are available walking distance for snacks. The staff at the café makes the best korean ramyeon. I want to come back again. Thank you so much !!!!!
- Natasha (7/5): The cafe itself is very cute, and overall I don't regret booking this hostel. - The location isn't the best, its a bit far from bus stops that actually get you around the city, and it was pretty far from downtown. I did struggle finding restaurants to eat at alone close to the hostel. On the other hand, the views of the countryside were beautiful, and I did enjoy the break from the city. The breakfast was good, though its from 08:00-09:00 so you have to be up early. The sleeping area is fine smells wise because its closed off from the cats. The accommodations are also fine, and I was pleasantly surprised by the japanese toilets. As other reviews mention, the cafe area does smell of cats (litter box+cat food) which I didn't have an issue with because I knew to expect it (and theres a lot of cats so smell makes sense). On my second day I did notice the smell of cat urine in the cafe area, which was a shame because it made sitting there very difficult.
- Harvey (5/5): Only cheap accommodation near the train station, but not worth the aggro - In principal the idea of a cat / library theme was a good idea, but in practice it was a bit cluttered. There was a danger of knocking something over if you weren't careful carrying your luggage or going to the toilet in the night. The hosts were unpleasant, very snappy and with an attitude as though you were inconveniencing them by staying. Instead of a welcoming arrival I was treated to a list of rules for things not to do. It is in an isolated location down a lonely road; if you arrive after dark, as I did, you would be advised to get a taxi.
- Shi (8/5): Good for a short stay with cats but not too long - The cute cats on the first floor and the washing machine on the third floor The location was far from the city centre and hard to get food around this area. It was also quite a walk into the hostel from the bus terminal or bus stops so it was hard to drag the heavy luggage. The roads in are dark at night so get back before the sun sets. The room was a little too small with my big luggage. The wifi on the accommodation floors weren’t secure wifi too
- JANGHAN (8/5): 뚜벅이들은 꼭 확인하세요. - 안동역에서 걸어서 20분 안팎 걸리고 외진데 있어요. 주변에 편의점이나 식당이 없으니 미리 다른 곳에서 식사하고 체크인하는 게 좋습니다. 가는 길에 가로등이 간간히 있어 밤에 여성 혼자 걸어가는 것은 추천하지 않아요. 남자는 괜찮고요. 조식 시간 외에 카페 이용은 음료 등을 구매해야 가능합니다.
- Henri (9/5): Two nights in Andong... - The hostel is located at walking distance from the bus station and train station (and tourist office), but it is twenty minutes by bus from Andong downtown. The dormitory I had was clean and comfortable (showers and toilets separate). Good bed. Free breakfast. It is also a café-bookshop, where several cats are hanging around. Due to bad weather, I could not enjoy the outside facilities. Nothing in particular.
- Katrina (6/5): Great for backpackers not families. - My family of 7 spanning three generations had very mixed experiences at this hotel. The room my partner and our two children had was incredible, probably the best family room we had through out our Korean holiday. Lots of space, great configuration, and lots of sunlight. The room I booked for my sister however, was so small they had to swap places with my mother whose room was slightly larger. Both their rooms however were tiny, think beds in a cupboard with walls on either side, and windows you can't see out of. No floor space for luggage. The beds also had mattress protectors that sounded like rustling shopping bags. In the end they took them off otherwise they wouldn't have gotten any sleep. I think these rooms must be pitched at back packing couples, rather than familys who like a bit of comfort. I think the intent is you use the communal spaces on each floor, where as at the end of the day we like some quiet private time in our rooms. The downstairs cafe, however, was great, and breakfast was provided. There is no lift in this accommodation, so you need to carry your luggage up multiple floors. Also being a backpackers there were rules galore, which were efficiently enforced. The wifi was slow and intermittent, the worst we had on our travels. All in all, I think if you were a backpacker this place would be amazing. As an extended family it was not what I expected, and was way further out of town than I thought, so others may have a much more positive experience.

- Rick (10/5): Amazing stay in one of the nicest, comfortable, original, and relaxed guesthouse we ever stayed - What a lovely place! The atmosphere is amazing. Our kids also loved the cats, which are treated very good. We all loved the vibe. Great place to have a drink and relax also. Also a library. We were upgraded to the special family room, which is superb. Spacious, good beds, good facilities: just perfect! Friendly staff, and for sure try the food and drinks available, very nice. We loved staying here in South-korea! In contrast to other reviewerss, luckily we didn't experience loud noise, nor not-interested staff during our stay. But if you dislike cats, I would choose another place to stay. The location is a bit out of the way from Andong-centre, but all touristic places in Andong are a bit out of the way, and out of the centre (for sure would recommend renting a car when visiting Andong-region) The hostel is pretty close by the train station. Best stay we had in South-Korea!

Most of the cats looked like they were not very well taken care of. More of a gimmick to lure tourists, than that they really cared. Some were limping, some had swollen eyes. Would not recommend this to anyone who cares about cats.

- Renate (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is friendly and the dorm area is very clean. Very good breakfast. They have cats You cannot enter the hostel after 10 pm anymore because the café closes and the staff leaves. So you have to be back by then and in your room .... A bit like on a school trip. They have cats so the café area smells a bit.
