Guest Reviews
- Ian (8/5): - Clean room, comfy bed and a great dinner
- Jessica (6/5): - Bed was comfortable. However the bathroom was dirty with mould in the shower. On arrival there were no towels or toilet roll in the room. But the cleaners basket with dirty cloths and tea and coffee items left on the side table. Breakfast was quite nice. Shame about the dirty cup.
- Lynda (10/5): - The staff were very helpful and the room was very spacious and clean The food was very good quality would definitely go back.
- Stephen (10/5): - Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room and a great breakfast to start the day.
- April (6/5): - Slept ok bed nosy, tv not working and WiFi not working.
- Amber (6/5): - We hada problem with check-in and originally were told we couldn't have a key and they could only guarantee we could get in up until 10am .
- peter (10/5): - could not fault our stay
staff, room ,and breakfast were first class
- Veronica (10/5): - Friendly staff, quality food, large comfortable room!
- Shaun (10/5): - Friendly staff and catered for all needs. Great room definitely recommend to others and come again.
- Anthony (10/5): - Comfortable room in a town pub close to amenities. Surprisingly it was very quiet through the night with only the gentle chiming of the clock tower to be heard. Host welcoming and friendly.had our evening meal there which was very tasty and arrived quickly. Breakfast was a lovely full english served downstairs in a sepparate area with a bright and cheerful setting.
- clare (10/5): - It was lovely, the food served in the pub was great. The host, Craig, was lovely. Really friendly and helpful. Beautiful beer garden.
- Ann-Marie (10/5): - Great room for ourselves and teenage son. Food was delicious as we had dinner after we arrived. Good value and quality. Great nights sleep and a delicious breakfast before we let. Thank you and hope to return.
- Jane (8/5): - It was clean, food was very good, breakfast was wonderful. However because there was no house keeping,we didn't have clean towels for 4 days, and the coffee/tea in the room was not replenished.
- Michael (10/5): Great stay - Great stay in traditional Public House. Evening meal was excellent and of restaurant quality. Full English breakfast with local produce. Pub was friendly with a great atmosphere. Room was compact and good value. Good location for exploring the wider area. The room was quiet even though above a pub.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The accommodation could do with a little updating
- Laura (10/5): Lovely stay - Cute little stay can’t hear any noise considering the location great for us while we were visiting family and having a quiet weekend- lovely and clean and everything you need in the one place.
- Angela (6/5): A hidden gem - In a side street in Abergele opposite a lovely church the Bull had a lovely beer garden which has been restyled from original photo
A cosy welcoming well presented pub atmosphere with a log burning fire which was viewed also from the dining room on the other side serving excellent hot food varied menu Sunday lunches to die for equally the breakfast which was plentifull and tasty in your own little well presented dining room
The bedroom was a 4 person family room compact but well presented with a teasmaid
Our only comment is the green exit light in bedroom did disturb our sleep
We will be returning
Thank you Craig and staff at the Bull
- Carol (6/5): Comfortable - Lovely comfortable bed. Dinner was excellent and good portion size. Service in restaurant in the evening was excellent. On arrival we were told that all rooms were full, despite us having a reservation. A room was confirmed but it was a double and not the family room we had booked. Fortunately our daughter was unable to come, so this wasn't a problem and we didn't raise it for that reason. No spare toilet roll in bathroom and very little to start with, no coffee capsules. Small things but they make a difference. Overall a comfortable stay, good food and good service in restaurant.
- Duncan (10/5): - Great staff. Good cheap beer
- Garry (8/5): - Stayed here after a family birthday party. We just needed a family room for the night. Great value , reasonable comfy beds . We were a family of 3 adults . Did the job, no frills accommodation. You need to mobile for this accommodation, as all the rooms seem to be situated up two steep flights of stairs. Fine for us but anyone with mobility issues would struggle
- Mrs D (8/5): - Craig was lovely. Very helpful.
- Michael (10/5): - Great little place, landlord is a top bloke who cant do enough for you
- Paul (10/5): - Room clean.
Excellent breakfast.
Friendly, efficient service.
- Amelia (8/5): - We loved the hotel and the staff were brilliant. It is on top of The Bull Pub! The pub was lovely, such a great atmosphere. The room itself was clean and a great set up for what we needed with our little boy. The second floor walking up to our room smelt a bit musty but overall the hotel was lovely. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic. So much choice! Highly impressed by the hotel and service for the price! Will definitely be back
- Christopher (10/5): The Bull Hotel Abergele. - The whole process prior to this trip from booking to the stay was trouble free and the Hotels.com website was so easy to navigate. The property we stayed at was excellent value for money and would certainly recommend it for a short stay.
- Hayley (10/5): - Great stay , comfortable room.. i would suggest the family room would have been better placed into the double and single bed room as there room has much more space and with 1 double 1 single in there seemed alot of space wasted
.. no window to open in the family room , with 4 people in there an open window would be great.
The fire exit green light in the bedroom is WAY to bright.
Overall lovely decor , clean room , friendly staff..
Thank you
- Catherine (10/5): Family stay - Lovely room, and breakfast included so fabulous value for money. Food in pub brilliant also.
- Adam (8/5): Great hospitality and facilities - The welcome we had was great, very friendly, showed us to our room and explained everything. Beds were comfortable and room was set out nice. Great decor and utilities in the room including Netflix and a coffee machine with kettle for tea making facilities. You could tell every detail had been thought out.
The only problem was the fire exit light in the room, it lit up the whole room at night and we found it difficult to sleep. Obviously it’s a must have so I don’t know how they could change that.
Breakfast was included but served from 8 and we had to leave before this so quite unfortunate as most hotels start at 6.
Limited parking but we had no issues and CCTV everywhere made it feel safe.
Had a lovely walk through town down to the seaside.
Would stay again
- Karolyn (10/5): - What a find , friendly polite staff , room amazing , food off the scale amazing all freshly cooked , personal attentive manager at breakfast again all freshly cooked , would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you!
- Julie (10/5): - Dining room
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was not clean. Some damp on the roof. Empty handwash, no toilet roll. The staff was un welcoming and as if they dont want to help. The overall ambiance was very poor. Aviod stay here..
- Maxine (8/5): - Fabulous breakfast
- Roy (8/5): - As much as our one night stay was ok the property has become a bit “tired” in need of some TLC.
- Steve (10/5): - Nice pub/hotel. Rooms on top floor, neat and tidy. Food at pub was excellent , staff friendly and efficient.
- Charan (4/5): - Prepare yourself with hand wash and bath lotion etc items since you won’t find them there or find them empty. No proper checkin assistance other than handing room keys and pretty much no communication
- Gareth (8/5): - Brilliant generous breakfast. Cosy room on the 2nd floor no noise from downstairs highly recommended
- joanne (10/5): - Would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends
- Thomas (10/5): - The family room was perfect. Breakfast cooked to order and all local Welsh products. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Quiet friendly place and will definitely stay again. Diolch!
- Michael (10/5): Nice, modern room in a traditional building - We really enjoyed our stay. Family of 3 in the triple room. Loads of space, the beds were nice and comfy, and the facilities are new and fresh. Didn't have enough towels, but if it had been relevant, I'm sure we could have asked for, and got, some.
All of this pales in comparison to the breakfast. OH. MY. The breakfast!! Quite possibly the best breakfast I've ever had, hotel, home or otherwise. The hash browns are probably home made, and definitely delicious, same goes with the sausages. Portion sizes were great, options were great, and as a nice touch we could also watch the olympics on a massive screen.
Would love to stay again, a bargain for what we got at the time of year (school summer holidays) we stayed.
- Gail (10/5): - Very quaint and bed was very comfortable
Staff were lovely and food fabulous
- Nusaybah (10/5): - Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff! Breakfast was fantastic. Great location.
- A (10/5): Third stay at this location - In heart of the town.
Can recommend eating there.
Would not suit elderly or anyone with walking disabilities as steep stairs .
But certainly would return.
- IKE (10/5): - Super good English breakfast. Nice and friendly proprietor and staff. There may be road traffic noise. Parking is limited on site.
- Frank (10/5): - Rooms are lovely breakfast is great stayed here many times
- Emma (8/5): - Simple, clean.
- Catherine (10/5): - We received a warm welcome at The Bull and enjoyed a meal in house. The stay was everything we needed and wanted, comfy bed, tv to veg out to a film and a great shower.
- Elizabeth (4/5): - The whole place is in need of a good clean. Bedroom fixtures and fan thick with dust. Bed linens were clean which was a relief! Greeted by bar staff who were very pleasant but very busy. The chap who did breakfast however was very unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked for some sugar to put on cornflakes and was told they only have cubes which seemed bizarre. Had to ask for milk for the cereal which when it arrived was sour but rather than ask we just brought our own down. He seemed put out enough that we had wanted milk and sugar in the first place! The worst part was the fire escape door being actually in our room so there is a large illuminated green sign in the middle of the bedroom ceiling that stays on all night. Needless to say we got very little sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Overnight stop off - This was an excellent place for an overnight stay. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The only thing was they had forgotten to provide towels and toilet paper. This was easily sorted when we asked. We had an evening meal and breakfast, which were both good. We would stay here again
- Wayne (6/5): Nice landlord - Owner was friendly and nice. Room wasn't a deluxe room it was a standard room. He forgot to bring towels on arrival but from previous reviews we took our own, shower needs a good clean black mould on the silicone. Full English Breakfast was amazing. Basically he needs to employ a good cleaner and touch up the room as loads of marks everywhere. I overlooked all this cause he was genuinely a bloke doing the best he could as he'd just sacked the cleaner but its clear why he done it.
- Abbey (10/5): - Lovely place to stay, clean and fresh looking. Staff very friendly.
Only downside would be the parking, very little space so struggle to get a space
- Alan T (10/5): Welcoming, clean, great food. - Welcoming, clean, great food.
- Gill (10/5): - Parking was available but limited but couldn’t fault my overall stay
- Gill (10/5): - Parking was a bit limited depending on what time you arrive but couldn’t fault hotel room and staff
- Roger (8/5): - The food was very good indeed. Both breakfast and the pub food was piping hot, well presented and good value. We would certainly stay here again. The twin room was fine and bed comfy.
- Hollie (10/5): Nice cosy dog friendly hotel - Nice and cozy dog friendly hotel. The room was lovely and the beds were comfy. A nice area to have tea with the dog in the evening too, the breakfast was also nice.
- Alan and Linda (8/5): - Good for overnight stay.
- David (8/5): - Oldie world type place. No complaints from the food or beer. Polite staff , most of all comfy bed.
- Stephen (10/5): Great - Friendly, helpful staff.. Good rooms and excellent food. Even did me a bacon sandwich to take away because I start work early before breakfast was being served. Will definitely stay again.
- Nigel (6/5): - The beds were very comfortable. The mould in the shower was well past its sell by date! The door latch had a small bolt thread missing which meant the latch was not secure. The fire escape was well marked but the exit to the ground floor outside was blocked.
- Eirlys (10/5): - Had a fantastic stay here, room was nice and the bed was really comfortable we were really looked after, nothing was to much trouble. The breakfast was amazing with a nice big pot of coffee to wash it down with.
- Ivan (10/5): Great place - First time we have stayed here and our room was very nice and clean.
Did not hear any noise from the pub down below of us at night. Food in the pub is very nice and portion size very big.
Breakfast in morning was very good no complaints. Would definitely stay again
- Karen (10/5): - Craig really looked after us the room was excellent food in the evening was amazing and the breakfast just ended a perfect stay . Would definitely recommend.
- Steven (8/5): Comfy but not clean. - Great location and the room was spacious and very comfortable, good quality bedding and mattress.
Sadly the room was a bit grubby, along with other communal areas with dust buildup on the light fittings, the carpet was gritty underfoot and shower cubicle dirty.
Breakfast was great, good quality as was the meal we are there on one day of our stay.
Needs a little TLC, and the cleaner needs to up their game,
Probably wouldn’t go back until I know theses bit are sorted out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value all round - Comfortable room and a good breakfast
Pub grub also excellent with very friendly service
- LORRAINE (6/5): - Room very basic and cold , bed linen torn and an emergency green light on all night so not very easy to sleep. no instructions in the room for the wifi and other information. Had some coffee and toast before we left but wouldn't entertain returning
- Andrea (8/5): - Lovely room but heating not up to par. Lovely breakfast, but very gruff staff member left us feeling unwelcome
- Ellen (8/5): - Staff were lovely room was clean! But the hallway smelt like wet dog.
- Alison (10/5): - Friendly staff, we didn't eat in the pub but the breakfast was lovely plenty to eat hot and tasty with a huge strong coffee pot just what I like of a morning.
- Samantha (8/5): Sams plan - Our stay was a pleasant one. The mattress was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly 🙂
- Christina (10/5): Abergele’s hidden gem - The bull hotel was so accommodating, the owner and his staff were friendly, polite and extremely helpful, the room we stayed in was modern and clean, breakfast was lovely, good quality grub served in a relaxed dining room separate from the pub but the pub served lovely evening meals too ,can’t fault my stay there would definitely go back
- Karen (8/5): - Veryclean, everything there that we needed. Food good. Good location.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Staff were welcoming. The breakfast room is bright. Access to floor with rooms is tight, and shabby. The green light attached to smoke censor in bedroom, as noted in reviews, is definitely a problem because it is too bright. Parking is in short supply…we had to drive around before a space became available after patrons of the pub/restaurant departed.
- Duncan (10/5): - Good value for money.
Great breakfast.
- Amanda (8/5): - Staff very welcoming and pleasant to talk with
- Nicola (10/5): - What a little gem of a place, welcoming & friendly host, room was clean & plenty of room, beds were extremely comfy.
Breakfast was amazing no need for lunch.
Perfect place to stay to explore North Wales.
We will definitely book again!
- Chloe (2/5): DO NOT GO!!! - Standing behind the bedroom door listening while my kids was in the room. DO NOT go if you have children!!!
- Sarah (2/5): - Greeted by 5 flies in bedroom, damp patch on ceiling, mould in shower and stagnant pond water in coffee machine . Beds and towels were clean but terrible cheap flat pillows. We had a kind of terrace outside the room via steps that had dog crap on it too. Fan in room was covered in dust/dirt too.
Service at breakfast was good and food plentiful .
Disturbed by a very rude guest allowing her child to jump and screech at top note from 6:50am waking us all up . Adult was not once heard trying to quieten down the screeching kid.
Needs attention to detail with cleaning and maintenance .
- Andrew (4/5): - Two flights of narrow stairs. Small room.
- Robert (8/5): - Comfy room and nice food.
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice rooms and really good food
- William (4/5): - Having stayed at the Bull Hotel in 2022, I was disappointed with our stay this August. The bedroom was clean but the bedsheets had not been ironed and the dressing table mirror fell out when it was touched, breaking a saucer. When we explained to staff they said that they were having trouble with the laundry service. but that is no excuse for putting un-ironed sheets on a bed. Other issues were down to a lack of attention to detail: The dining room floor needed sweeping, there was no spare toilet roll in the bathroom, and only honey was available for toast because no one had ordered jam and marmalade for breakfast
- Wayne (4/5): A disapponted stay in wales - Well what can i say its not a dog friendly hotel, the management were not very friendly towards our dog Frank .We went down for breakfast the first morning, our dog Frank was barking at the person serving us breakfast and he asked us to leave so we ended up having breakfast in our room everytime Frank saw him he would bark .The dining area had flies flying around the light fittings above our table .The breakfast wasnt up to much,no vegetarian option and very little of it,the cereal was stale as well .The good thing about the hotel was the bar, when we got there we spent the evening in the bar and had a lovely meal .I had fish and chips and my husband had lasagne which he liked and we had a few pints of manchester ale which was on a separate bill .Our room was okay the main light didnt work and the telly was slow with the internet connection so we couldnt watch catch up TV .The location is in the middle of nowwhere so if you like it quiet its the place to go .Wont be coming back again and wont be telling my dog friendly friends to vist here .
- Frances (8/5): - Green light in bedroom
- Chris (10/5): - Very good service.
- Susan (8/5): - Our stay was ok, sufficient for our needs, 1 night only, shortage of towels, otherwise ok..
- MALCOLM (2/5): - Well, First impression of the pub put me off, drove into the car park which was very scruffy with an overfilled with food and rubbish large wheelie bin with about 20 gulls having lunch. Went in through the back entrance, very dirty looking and the carpet leading up the first set of stairs is appalling, Also passed the kitchen and decided we would not be dining in. Second set of stairs were cleaner and the actual room improved although the bedding needs to be discarded, Best room was the new bathroom which was Beautiful. Excellent shower. Had a pretty sleepless night in an uncomfortable bed, went down for breakfast which was reasonable with decent service, but decided we would not be staying another night although we had paid for it. I don`t have a clue how this place got half decent revues, Expedia should inspect and take it off there site. We moved to a travel lodge.
- Liza (8/5): - Breakfast is really nice
- Huw (10/5): Would definitely recommend - A great find! The staff were great & the food to a high standard & our room was comfortable and all at a reasonable price
- Jane (10/5): - Had a very comfortable stay at the Bull fab service and delicious breakfast.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not the worst but could improve - There’s a massive green emergency fire exit so that is lit up all night so not great for a good night sleep. Not the cleanest and towels are threadbare well the one you get between two. The breakfast was good and drinks at the bar where also good
- Joanna (8/5): Ok - Room needed bit of cleaning (mirrors had many signs of hands and furniture covered by dust). It was small piece of toilet paper in the bathroom. The rest was great.
- Gwyneth (10/5): - Lovely welcome and quick check in. Room spacious [we got the family room]. Bathroom could use some fine tuning but everything there you need. Tea,coffee supplies were low but quickly replenished when asked. Breakfast cooked to order and plenty of it.
- David (8/5): - Everything was very good let down by paint hanging in big clumps over the shower.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good base to explore - Good base to explore North Wales. Dog friendly and the room had good space. Cooked Breakfast was great.
- Jon (10/5): - Decent value good bed good shower good breakfast
- Carly (10/5): Great little find .. lovely - Fantastic one night stay at the bull hotel. Very cosy, clean and friendly. We will be returning in future. Better than the Hilton that we stayed in on the following night! Thank you
- Melanie (2/5): - We didn’t stay here as it was the pits. Outside was a mass of old broken garden furniture. We had to go through the bar to get to our room. There was old furniture on the landing. The tiny window was covered in seagull mess. For £180 it was a disgrace and we will be pursuing a refund. The bedroom was tiny with a very small en-suite. We were so disappointed to drive all the way from Scotland to be met with The Bull. We left and booked somewhere else which was so much nicer. Please advise how we go about claiming our money back.
- Ann (10/5): Weekend trip - We had a fantastic stay. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. We had an excellent meal downstairs in the evening and were all made to feel very welcome (including our dog!)
- Teighan (8/5): Family mini break - Welcoming staff, room perfect for what we needed, breakfast was lovely and filling
- Leanne (6/5): Green light = No sleep - We have an evening meal which was lovely. Great portion and great price.
We stayed in the family room but they had the fire exit light/sign in the bedroom which lit the bedroom up green all night so this meant the room was not dark which is not ideal with kids, they kept asking for the green light to be turned off. As a result not a good night sleep for anyone 😕
