- Brice (1/5): Not worth the price you pay - The location is very convenient if you want to visit Mont St Michel. Erika and her husband are very helpful to find the best restaurants and activities around This place is meant for those who like to sleep in a museum without the modern comfort. Fair enough you don’t expect a modern room like the four seasons but some investments are needed to make this place more comfortable. As an example there no proper heating/aircon except a very noisy mobile aircon that prevents from sleeping and in the summer Normandy can be very hot. Also we were not comfortable leaving our key behind and easily accessed by any guest. Seriously who would run away with an old key while staying there. I could go on with the list of things that would make your stay more enjoyable but it would be too long. All in all it is not worth the 700 euros you pay. There are better options in the nearby towns.

- Austin (10/5): - I had a magical and memorable stay at this beautifully kept and historic Chateau. The Chateau is located around 20 minutes from Mont St. Michele and hours drive from dinan. The chateau itself is located on a peaceful country road on grounds inhabited by a lovely flock of geese who spend their days meandering the properties’ ponds. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean with strong air conditioning and decorated with antiques and paintings that speak to the history of the home. The service, a small professional team complimented by the warm hospitality of the de Roquefeuil family made the experience memorable. The highlight of my stay was chatting with the Count Regis de Roquefeuil, who graciously entertained my many questions about the history of the Chateau (the current property predates the french revolution and has seen tremendous moments in history). We were also glad we elected to enjoy the breakfast, which the family customizes to the guests taste. We were also pleasantly surprised at the number of services and amenities that the owners were able to offer (everything from the honor bar to a host of experiences that can be arranged). We look forward to our return
- Stavros (4/5): Does not live up to expectations - Location in the countryside really nice and peaceful. Expansive spaces surrounding the main building well taken care of and overall very pleasant. Access by car easy, as well as parking spaces available. Hotel personnel obliging and attentive to our needs. Room quite spacious (by standard room, if not by suite standards) and sunny. Sleep comfort was ok. Hotel does not offer amenities expected from a 5* lodging of this price category: no lobby, bar, outside cafe etc. Our room did not offer a TV (!), nor a desk of any kind. Overall, the place did not do justice to a price tag of almost 1000 EUR/day for our suite. If you favour a museum-type experience, with old furnishings and a building in need of renovation, that may be the place for you. For us, this is definitely not our idea of luxury holidays... In spite of the efforts of the owner family.

- Damir (8/5): Great chateau an beautiful park surrounding it, but on (over) pricey side - Beautiful property, both the chateau and the surrounding park, helpful and kind host Erika. Rooms are decorated accordingly to the history of the chateau while necessary rebuilding (bathrooms) did not ruin the spirit of chateau. Food and the groceries served for breakfast are of exceptional quality. One would expect to get all the expected amenities considering the price, but gadgets like smart speaker and TV set are not in the room equipment.

- Josephine (10/5): Perfect Countryside Stay - This was our second stay, it was wonderful, there is an ‘honesty bar’ that has champagne, wine, beer and soft drinks as well as meals and snacks, we ended up eating at the house twice as we were so tired from driving and sightseeing, for ‘microwaved food’ it was actually amazing and it felt like a five star experience (see my photo of us dinning) There is nothing to dislike, if you understand the various quirks of a listed property, then you will love it, if you are looking for a five star cookie cutter hotel stay, this will not be that lol creaking floors, imperfections which make this such a lovely experience, the eclectic furnishings and gorgeous fabrics keep each stay a pleasant and intriguing one - I have no complaints - we love Erica and the team!

- david (8/5): Get there on time - They are really serious about checking in by 8 PM. It’s a lovely hotel, but very expensive. The grounds are beautiful as well. The breakfast would’ve been very expensive so we drove several miles to a town to get something to eat. The pool is not as close to the building, as one might surmise from the photos. The rooms are big and well decorated. There is no TV in the room. The staff try very hard to be helpful. A relaxing stay.

- Priscila (10/5): A historical and magical french chateau - A very beautiful and historical family chateau, hosted by one of the family members and his wonderful, helpful and cheerful wife. The property is beautifully furnished with period art and books. It has a huge bright garden with a beautiful pool and many adorable birds. The room was large and clean, with a huge bathroom and super comfortable beds. A sweet bengal cat named Santis walks around the property sometimes making it even more magical. I highly recommend their dinner. You must book it in advance. Erica cooked it herself and it was very delicious!

- Douglas (10/5): - Bouceel Castle was a splurge stay for my wife and I but we only planned on staying 1 night in this area and it was well worth it. We were so impressed with our room, our view, the grounds, the decor... it was a shame we only booked one night. The highlight of course was learning about the history of the home and it's original owner. Very interesting and very sweet that he took the time to share it with us. What more can I say? It is a very special place. However, and perhaps most would consider this, but good restaurants book quickly in this area so you'll want to make reservations well ahead of your stay.

The grounds were incredibly beautiful and watercolour classes were one of the most wonderful holiday experiences you could imagine. French is a beautiful language and adds enormously to atmosphere. The experience would have been more pleasurable if people had spoken French in the Chateau.

- David (10/5): - What an amazing find! This hotel is actually an 18th century Chateau that has been in the owner’s family for generations. Count Regis is well known in the area and is a fantastic host. I recommend walking around the grounds and having the offered family style dinner, cooked by his daughter in law with local ingredients. It was nice to have a traditional dinner with all the other guests. Even more moving was hearing the Count’s stories of his father, who served in the French Resistance. Also, the Count cares for a grave site of an American WWII KIA. He gave us a bouquet to place on his grave, which is in the American Cemetery nearby. It was a very moving experience and one we will never forget.

Got a chance to meet interesting other guests staying at the Chateau during dinner. Charming rooms and very quiet. My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much.

- Nate (10/5): What a treasure! - The drive to the chateau is picturesque. The grounds of the property are idyllic. We were greeted at the door by the owner who showed us to our room. The room was delightful, spacious and beautifully furnished. The owner joined us for breakfast (which was delicious!) and shared some of the history of the property and his family. It was absolutely fascinating! The owner was incredibly warm, thoughtful and charming. After breakfast, the owner was kind enough to give us a tour of the rest of the chateau. What a treasure! We would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

- Karen (10/5): Amazing!! - Our stay at the chateau was truly memorable! The place is impeccably clean and in remarkable condition. The owner of the chateau- Regis could not be more friendly or helpful. He took a remarkable amount of time with us explaining the fascinating history of the chateau as well as his family lineage. Staying there was a memory of a life time.... we felt like royalty! If going to see Mont st Michel it is definitely worth the small drive to spend a night or two here.... Hoping to be back again!!!
- Renee (10/5): Sleeping in a Chateau - Gorgeous, beautiful, lovely, cannot think of enough words to describe this lovely chateau on beautiful grounds and an interior that made by husband and me feel like royalty. Not the easiest place to find but once we found it we loved it. Our room was a dream and had period furnishing, very elegant and a wonderful bathroom. The owner of the Chateau and his wife live there now, after moving from Paris when his father passed away. The home has been inhabited by the same family from generation to generation since the 11th century. Hard to believe. We had breakfast there in the morning and it was extraordinary. Parking right at the house and easy to visit important medieval villages nearby but stay in the serenity of the chateau. We loved this experience and the quiet of the countryside.

The bathroom was clean and spacious.The grounds were beautiful and serene.Our host made us feel very welcome.He told us stories about the family and the home. We dined family style with others guests...a great opportunity to meet people and try out our French!! Breakfast was amazing!! Erica was a delight and prepared our meals wonderfully. The Normandy spinach soup was so good...I just made a big pot when I got home! We were intrigued to learn of the families connection to the nearby American cemetary.Our host thoughtfully prepared a bouquet for us to take to the cemetary. I hope to be able to return to the Chateau one day.A truly magical experience. Thank you!
