The reception scheduled a cab for our very early flight and they gave us sandwiches and drinks since we wouldn’t be able to get breakfast at the hotel. During the day, the market precludes cars getting to the entrance of the hotel, so you will have to walk a little.

Era mentira que no podia entrar, quien nos recogió lo hizo desde la puerta del hotel.

• Henryk (9/5): Super friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful, uniquely laid out building. I highly recommend it. - The hotel is in the middle of Kemeralti Bazaar, whkch is enormous. You can take care of all you shopping needs. Its also close to sites, the metro and tram. The rooms are built around a central courtyard, so its cosy and quite unique. A very pleasant stay! Be aware that they usually play live music in the courtyard to 11pm, which is loud in the room. Also, being in the middle of the Bazaar, one of the accesses is through the fish market with aromas, which are quite intense and maybe not for eveyone.

• John (10/5): The hotel itself was most enjoyable - a true haven in a huge city. - We were received warmly and were given very good help in finding our way around the city, also in getting an airport taxi. We were also offered complimentary drinks on our arrival: superb, freshly pressed mulberry juice! We had imagined that this part of the "old town" of Izmir would be spacious and charming. Instead, it was very dense with shops and bazaars, and confusing to get around in. For short stays, we recommend going down to the sea, as a good remedy for agoraphobia!

• Joy (10/5): Wonderful!! - The location was perfect right in the middle of the Kemeralti bazaar. The rooms are beautiful and the courtyard has a lovely atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay more comfortable. Starbucks coffees are offered at no additional cost. It was by far the best hotel of our 3 week stay in Turkey! Highly recommend!! The live music was nice but the volume was a little loud even from the rooms. Can’t think of anything else.

• Trevor (10/5): Great location, atmosphere and staff are next level brilliant - My wife and I stayed for four nights and absolutely loved this hotel. The hotel sits right inside the Bazaar, and the photos really don’t capture how beautiful and traditionally Turkish the building and rooms are. Every room overlooks the central courtyard where the restaurant is, perfect for people‑watching. We arrived three hours before check‑in, and they had our room ready within an hour, offering free drinks while we waited. A great start and a sign of the service to come. Every member of staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you, while still giving you your space. The restaurant service is easily silver‑service standard. We don’t normally eat in a hotel every night, but the food and service were so exceptional that we didn’t want to go anywhere else. There was live entertainment every evening and a pianist during the day, which added to the atmosphere. The location is ideal if you want to enjoy the Bazaar—everything is right on your doorstep. It’s also only a 5–10 minute walk to the harbour and about 20 minutes (or 3 minutes by taxi) to the Culture Park. We honestly cannot fault this hotel. We’ll definitely be returning for another shopping trip. The hotel is in the Bazaar, so you cannot get direct transport to the door. Not an issue for us, but may be for some. The walk is under 1 minute.

• Stephanie (9/5): Great Hotel! - The hotel is really cute, clean, and charming with an old-school feel but modern rooms and amenities. The staff was very friendly as well, and very helpful with recommendations and bookings. Looks just like the photos, rooms are nice and spacious. I really enjoyed my stay! The only down side to the central old city location is that once the bazaar is closed, it's a bit desolate as you have to walk through the closed bazaar to get to the hotel, and cabs can't get right to the door.

• Susan (10/5): The Excellence of Turkish Hospitality - My stay at L'Agora Old Town highlighted the excellence of Turkish hospitality. From the moment I entered the reception area, Turker took excellent care of me. He made sure I was comfortable and went the extra mile to make my stay memorable. When I missed breakfast because of a tour or early flight, I found a lunch sack waiting for me. As a woman traveling alone, I appreciated the extra attention and felt very safe. The taxi was waiting for me at the exact time I needed it, thanks to Turker. While I agree with some of the comments about the challenges of being in the middle of Old Town, and the bothersome odor of cigarette smoke that wafted throughout the building because of the open structure, the hospitality of the staff and the charm of the building more than made up for the few inconveniences. The morning receptionist walked me to my taxi, confirmed the fare with the driver, and sent me off Feeling safe and well taken care of. I would recommend this hotel 100% if you wish to experience true Turkish hospitality, the charm of Old Town and a beautiful, romantic restaurant that offers great food, live music, and good prices. L'Agora Old Town was a perfect first stop on my turkey itinerary. The trek From the taxi through the fish market was not what I expected, but I later accepted it as a unique cultural experience.

El sábado en la noche hay música en vivo, súper agradable estancia. - Nos sentimos súper consentidos: nos hicieron la cortesía de alojarnos en un cuarto mucho mejor del que pagué. Nos alistaron nuestro desayuno para llevar ya que teníamos un tour muy temprano en la mañana. Son muy amables y listos para ayudar en lo que se nos ofreciera. Definitivamente volvería a este lugar. El turco es muy amable. No hay comentarios al respecto.

• mika (10/5): 素晴らしい！また来ます！一択です。 - ロケーションは最高です。 アゴラの遺跡は道を渡ればすぐぐらいの至近、市場の真ん中に建っているので、ショッピングにも大変便利。 魚屋さんが集中する場所なので、ホテルまでは確かに生臭い所を通る場合がありますが別の道からのアプローチも可能です。しかし滞在中は魚屋さん方面には一度も行かずに過ごす事も出来ますので全く問題ありません。 ホテルの一階のレストランは美味しく　スタバのコーヒーが何度も飲めてほんとに嬉しかった。 給湯設備も申し分なし。スタッフは皆さん親切で感じ良くてヨーロッパが初めての娘も大変喜んでいました。 また来ます。 下のレストランも　ホテルの通路にあるテーブルも全て　禁煙では無いため　夕方ホテルに到着した時には煙が立ち込めタバコの匂いが不快だった。 部屋は特にタバコ臭くなかったので我慢できた。

• Nelina (8/5): An inclusive option within the old market - L'agora had a lot of options for all kind of travelers. Located in the heart of the city it is in close proximity to everything. Its restaurant is a good option for coffee, chilling or dinners, accompanied sometimes by live music which was a very good addition. Breakfast options were OK, and the staff was always smiling and doing its best. Its center position is also a burden at times, you cannot reach it easily, having to walk in very crowded areas, so you better not need to rush to it for any reason (hehe). Noise from the market starts from the early morning hours. The mosques around make it even more difficult to sleep, as the chanting was starting on sunrise (it was Ramazan month though so I do not know if this is regular).

Right opposite the old Agora if you like Archaeology. You can follow a network of narrow stall lined streets into town the other way. The room was a quite noisy when the live music was on until 11pm on certain evenings, so ear plugs might be useful if you want an early night.
• Muguet Accord (8/5): We had a pleasant stay with friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and a great central location. - We had a good overall experience at L'Agora Old Town Hotel. Both receptionist Eren and the receptionist on the night shift were very friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions kindly and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! There were wonderful Turkish pastries and İzmir specialties like boyoz and gevrek, which we really enjoyed. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and a good experience. The location is good and very central. However, since the hotel is located in a pedestrian area, our taxi driver couldn’t drop us off directly in front of the hotel. Also, although the area felt safe to walk in, it was quite dark at 9 pm. The hotel garden is a smoke-free zone. Personally, it wasn’t my favorite feature, but I understand that some guests may appreciate it. On Saturday, there was live music in the garden. It was quite loud, but the singer had such a beautiful voice that it didn’t bother us much.

• Afroditi (10/5): Εξαιρετική φιλοξενία! - - μέσα στην καρδιά του παζαριού - άψογη φιλοξενία & κατευθύνσεις από το ευγενικό προσωπικό - ευρύχωρη σουίτα & πεντακάθαρο - πολύ άνετο κρεββάτι - το πρωινό θα μπορούσε να έχει μεγαλύτερη ποικιλία σε είδη & όχι το ίδιο κάθε μέρα - προτιμήστε τη μία είσοδο από τη μεριά του παζαριού γιατί η δεύτερη είναι πίσω από το δρόμο με τα ψαρικά είδη στο παζάρι και δεν είναι ό,τι καλύτερο να τη διασχίζεις - μικρολεπτομέρειες από πράγματα που θα μπορούσαν να αλλάξουν: καλύτερο πιστολάκι, μπουρνούζι, περισσότερα μαξιλάρια, οι πρίζες πιο κοντά στο κρεβάτι γιατί δεν έφταναν να φορτίσεις το κινητό, στο δωμάτιο η τηλεόραση ειναι τοποθετημένη στη μέση του καθρέφτη & όλος ο καθρέφτης είναι αχρησιμοποίητος- ούτε να δεις μπορείς, ούτε να φτιαχτείς, ούτε να το χρησιμοποιήσεις για μπουντουάρ ή μακιγιάζ - το εστιατόριο κάτω είναι λίγο ακριβό

Las habitaciones, el balconcito desde el que se ve todo el restaurante, el baño, el restaurante, la recepción, todo!! El trato del chico de recepción. Todo! Además el hotel está en medio del bazar. • Kevin (8/5): As nonsmokers the constant odor of cigarettes is the only negative aspect of this hotel. - The staff were great and very helpful. Room was comfortable and clean, great shower. The music was great but be aware the band generally plays until 11pm. As nonsmokers the constant odor of cigarettes from the restaurant is the only reason we would not stay at this otherwise lovely hotel again.

• Rhonda (9/5): Great experience with this lovely Hotel and restaurant. Enjoyed live music, excellent female singer - Great hotel and restaurant and loved the music! Staff were friendly and so helpful especially when we had problems with a taxi driver. Unfortunately there were a lot of smokers in the restaurant, the smoke travelled upstairs to our rooms if window or door was open. Airconditioning was off because it was no longer summer.

• Sabina (10/5): - I liked the entire concept of the hotel. It looks like an old Inn. Room was great, bed was very comfortable for sleeping. Also there was live music each day until 11 PM which added to the authentic experience. When you leave the hotel, you go directly into the main bazzar which was great local experience as well. They also offered us room upgrade for free which was nice gesture. Breakfast was fine as well. Nothing. Everything was great.

The hotel is hidden in a small alley in the old town, and the entrance looks very simple. But once you step inside, you enter a lively little square filled with cafés, small shops, food smells, voices, and music. It feels local and full of real life. They were setting up for Christmas during my stay—stage lights, decorations, a Christmas tree—and it made the whole place warm and festive. The food downstairs was genuinely good, and there were live singers every night (Spanish, English, Turkish). Not loud, just nice enough that you want to stay a bit longer. The best surprise was the dancer night. Dozens of local dancers were performing, improvising, dancing together. Everyone was friendly, and the atmosphere was great. We were just watching at first, but eventually ended up dancing with them—probably very awkwardly, but we had so much fun. It’s the kind of moment you can’t plan, and it only happens when you stay in a neighborhood hotel like this. The room was clean, cozy, lightly scented, and full of old-town character without feeling old. 💗

• Syed Johar (10/5): The best place to stay in Izmir for sure - Loved our stay. The reception was great fun. We were on our honeymoon and got a normal room. Got updated to a suite free of charge as a honeymoon gift. The staff is great, and everything from the room to the breakfast was great. Just genuinely kind people. The restaurant had live music which was a great touch, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the entertainment. Overall, the best place to stay in Izmir for sure. Nothing. Just a great time.

• Makbule (9/5): Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel - Das Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen, da man praktisch direkt im Zentrum der Stadt ist. Auch das Hotelpersonal und vor allem an der Rezeption war Herr Türker sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben ein besseres Zimmer bekommen als wir gebucht hatten. Das Frühstück war gut und lecker. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und werden es jederzeit wieder buchen. Das man an dem Fischstand vorbei musste um ins Hotel zu kommen. Aber gut war dass es alternativ einen 2. Eingang gab.
