- Caitlin (1/5): - Location Unclean beds, unclean bathroom. Unable to shut windows. Incredibly noisy
- Marjorie (10/5): Good service and great for the price. - Simple facilities but clean, quiet, and comfortable, with coffee, cold water, and fruit available to guests at reception. The staff were super helpful and accommodating - not only did they let me use their industrial iron, allowed us to store some things in their fridge, but when we left a treasured book behind, they kept it until we arranged for a driver to pick it up and bring it back to us!

- Digmi (3/5): - The staff was not particularly nice to us and did not respond to our requests and the people at the reception were sometimes shirtless or in pajamas and with cream all over their faces. The first morning when we first landed, they knocked very loudly on our door to ask if we wanted a taxi or a motorbike, even though we told them the day before that we would manage and there was no need
- Castillo (5/5): I think it was expensive for the service I received. - There was no breakfast, great location I was waiting 35 minutes for somebody to check me in, they didn't answer phone calls.
- Edan (8/5): - Quiet and within walking distance of most restaurants. Laundry service right next door. All was good

- Laura (6/5): Close to night activities and clean. Very Small room. - The staff was friendly and helpful although there was a huge language barrier. Price was great and situated right next to the walking street and food. A/C worked great. Room was closet sized - only wide enough for a bed and a tiny bathroom. The shower was in same space as the toilet area. Odd but functional

- Steve (6/5): Very poor value for money - The bed was clean and comfortable The room was small and shabby, no fridge and no windows everything was old and worn out, if this room was in any other part of Thailand it would only be 300 baht ,but it seems like they can charge what they like in Pai definitely won't visit the town again

- Ben (4/5): I am fully understanding that not everything will be perfect in a place, however the lack of value for what was not a ch - Relatively comfortable mattress and good duvet/pillows. No ventilation in the bathroom, so smelled of mould. Curtains didn’t cover the entire windows so whole panels still let light in. Windows were just slatted shutters and a mosquito net so it was noisy.

- Donald (7/5): - The location was convenient. The room was quite big. Big sofa, big fridge, with a kettle. Staff were pleasant, but had very limited English There was nowhere to hang clothes or wet towels. The bathroom floor flooded as there's no shower curtain.

- joseph (1/5): Bait and switch - It’s close to the walking street I paid for a nicer room and when I arrived they told me they had given it to someone else and I had to take a room with very old single beds. I had to ask several times for a refund and then was finally offered $3 because that’s the best she could do. The room was full of mosquitos

- Shannon (5/5): Good price for what you get - Good price for what you get A little out or the way for the main area. Rooms very basic and small. Not the cleanest. Very loud as doors very thin
- Gilad (10/5): Exceptional - Good value for money, close to the bait chabad
- Daria (8/5): Very good -
- Conor (9/5): Superb -
- Syukor (5/5): Passable -
- Marissa (9/5): Superb - Good location The bathroom was not the cleanest
- Kirsty (1/5): Room smells of strong sewage - The property is very close to the main centre of Pai which is very convenient. I was able to check in early. The air con was functional. Firstly: I would not recommend this place at all. The room was a little grotty, there were stains on the sheets, the bathroom was small and the bathroom door was broken and did not close (looking at previous reviews I see this has been the case for a while).
You can hear absolutely everything going on outside the room so if guests are particularly loud, you hear literally every word.
A guest smoked cannabis outside my window at one point and the whole room STUNK of it (this isn’t the hosts fault but absolutely something to bare in mind)
All of the above isn’t too bad for the price but the biggest problem was that I was on the ground floor and the smell of sewage was very strong. It was rife in the morning, seemed to air out in the evening but at night I was woken up after 1 hour of sleep to an overwhelming smell of sewage. Felt like I was choking on it and unable to sleep in a room that smelt so revolting.
I was awake all night as I couldn’t sleep in a room that felt as though I was suffocating. I waited until the morning and asked one of the ladies at reception if I could move rooms, she said no. I asked if I could be moved to a sister hotel, she said no. I asked if I could be refunded as I had paid for a place to sleep and have not had the privilege of doing so in a room that smells of pure sewage, she laughed at me and told me I’d have to wait to speak to her boss.
I spoke to the lady in charge who has limited English and came across quite abrupt. She agreed immediately to move my room. I moved rooms to the other side of the hotel, this one had a very strong smell of chemicals or just very strong air freshener which also felt like I was suffocating but I could make do with that over the smell of literal feces. I moved the next day. Would not recommend at all. No one should have to sleep in a room like that. To me, it’s literally inhabitable. Not ok.
- Ester (7/5): I would look for somewhere a bit quieter traffic wise but overall it was good. - Location was good if you didn't mind traffic. Close to all things. Had laundry service. Staff helped with luggage and dropped us at bus terminal. The room we booked was not as we expected, and was very cramped and tiny and stuffy and bathroom even more so. Luckily they had a bigger, better room at a higher price available and upstairs and airy and we were happy with that.
- Simon (8/5): Very good - The location was great, near the walking street, but not on a loud street. It is definitely a quiet hostel. The owners make up for lack of English fluency with friendliness. Really likeable people
Everything worked though I didn’t try the aircon as Pai in January really doesn’t need it
There was a breakfast of coffee, biscuits and banana The mattress is more solid than the walls
If you had a late night noisy neighbour, you would be disturbed by them. There again it’s not that sort of hostel
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dixon (5/5): OKAY - It is a good hotel for location, I wouldn’t say it was most cleanest. And the beds are rock hard not the comfiest.
But overall we didn’t have a bad stay for the money. Room wasn’t the nicest
- Levkovich (7/5): Was nice fir its money - Very good location It’s quite old and small
- Mohd (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bradshaw (10/5): Great place to stay - Centrally located and fantastic bed. Nothing, it was exactly what we expected and great price and location.
Try the chicken skewers from the man on the way to the night market. 10bhat and amazing.
- Tom (10/5): Very good stay and helpful staff - We were very happy with our stay. Friendly staff, and helped us get a moped when everywhere around seemed to be sold out. Only 150 Baht and was a very quick process.
Room was perfect and in a good location Na
- David (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. Lovely family. - Lovely place and very helpful family. Comfy bed.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcus (8/5): Great Location and a very friendly staff. Very affordable option near the Walking Street. - I had an absolutely delightful stay at Happy in Pai! The location was fantastic—conveniently situated to explore everything Pai has to offer while still being a peaceful retreat. The WiFi worked perfectly, which was a huge plus for staying connected, and the air conditioning was solid, keeping the room cool and comfortable even on the hottest days.
The real highlight, though, was the friendly and welcoming staff. They went out of their way to make me feel at home, always greeting me with a smile and offering assistance whenever needed. Their hospitality truly elevated the experience.
For the price during high season, this stay was absolutely worth every penny. The value, comfort, and service exceeded my expectations.
If you're visiting Pai and looking for a well-located, comfortable place to stay with excellent service, I highly recommend Happy in Pai! I had a wonderful stay at Happy in Pai! The location was fantastic—perfectly situated to explore Pai while still being a peaceful and relaxing retreat. The WiFi worked flawlessly, and the air conditioning kept the room cool and comfortable, even during the hottest parts of the day.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to ensure a pleasant experience. Their kindness and attention to detail truly stood out and made my stay memorable.
That said, the bathroom could have been better. The toilet seat was loose, and the bathroom door didn’t close properly, which was a minor inconvenience. It also could have been a little cleaner, but since I wasn’t there long, it wasn’t a big issue.
Overall, Happy in Pai offers a great location, a very fair price during high season, and a caring staff that makes you feel at home. Despite the minor bathroom issues, I would definitely recommend it and would happily stay here again!
- Leah (6/5): Good and bad - The location of the property was great and the laundry service was exceptional, they wash, dry and give it back in the same day! The bed itself was comfortable with perfectly clean sheets. The shower also ran very hot which was nice. Unfortunately we were less than disappointed with our room, we have paid similar prices for far better accommodation whilst travelling SEA. The room was extremely run down with cobwebs and spiders in every corner and the smell in the room was awful. The room was also very small, we couldn’t open our suitcases on the floor fully.

- Maria (7/5): Pleasant short stay in Pai - Very spacious room, good air conditioning, clean. Good location in central Pai, close to where the bus drops you. Staff not the friendliest
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- Amy (8/5): Very good - The triple room we stayed in was good. The wifi wasn't strong enough to work the tv. The tv had netflix but couldn't be worked. The wifi wasn't even strong enough for our phones.
