• Jimmy (10/5): - Anna was great. And her assistant, Nadira, was great. They have a parking space we took advantage of and Nadira met us in the garage to make sure we got it right. We booked just before arriving. They request 24 hour lead time in order to get you all the check in info. But they made it work.

AC didn’t work well, refrigerator was broken, shower head was broken, had to call staff because no toilet paper except small amount on used roll, dirty towel was left and no pillow cases. Some spots of mold were visible in shower when wet.

• Gérard (8/5): - Lieu bruyant avec un restaurant en contrebas ou les gens parlent et rientfort jusq6plus d'une heure du matin. Le matin vers 7h15 les gens partent sans trop de délicatesse et la femme de ménage prend le relais en ouvrant et fermant les portes a plusieurs reprises de façon repetitives, cela a été très désagréable.

O quarto tem o básico , a geladeira não gela a água , mas no geral considero uma boa opção de estadia bem em frente as principais atrações .

• FENGTZE (8/5): - A restaurant is exactly downstairs of our room, so it was quite noisy in the night time from the guests sitting outside of restaurant. Also there was a few second noise from the electric box of the room every minute when we turned on the air conditioning. The location of room is very good, walking distance to Matera old town. • JKD (10/5): BEST STAY OF THE TRIP - 3.5 weeks, 14 properties - in summary - GREAT customer service, GREAT room with more than the average amenities, GREAT location. Parking not the easiest, but if you're patient, you can find free parking; paid parking is easier or just book garage space. We booked a mix of hotels and unhosted properties in the medium price range. For unhosted properties, we expects hosts to be easy to contact and they timely communication about "check in" procedures, rules of the house, as well as getting wifi info plus whatsapp and/or email contact in case something goes wrong at the last minute. I had to re-book our Matera stay at the last minute because it seems several properties in Matera DO NOT HAVE WIFI ! I never even thought to double check this when booking. I was able to find Piazza Mulino 26 and as soon as I booked, our host contacted me with the process for checkin throught the booking site. Sometimes, these messages get delayed, so we switched to whatsapp and email at her suggestion. Any question or concern I had was immediately addressed. By far - the best care and concern by the host of any properties during our trip. Prior to arrival, we received all of the codes and process for accessing the room. I wish this were true for all of the properties we had booked ! Upon arrival, we used whatsapp to inform our host of our arrival and almost immediately appeared to set us up with entrance and explanation about the room. And, on top of this excellent customer service, the room is very well located for visiting the historic center of Matera. We were given excellent instructions on which sites to visit as well as good information about accessing the national park as well as the best walking routes. The room itself seems almost new and decorated in a homely yet stylish fashion with enough hangers and other amenities, including one of the few rooms on our trip with a refrigerator, coffee maker and electric kettle. The room size and bathroom were quite comfortable for the two of us. The bed was one of the most comfortable of all of the stays and had extra pillows as well. After a lot of walking, it was very amenable for a relaxing and deep sleep. There are also tables in the piazza exclusive for guest use with access to wifi. Free street parking is a bit tough, although there is paid parking near the property. As well, there is limited paid parking garage space solely for guest use. We did find parking easier on Via Lupo Protospata, a 10 minute walk away. There are two entrances to the property - on Via Antonio Passarelli has just a few steps, while coming in through the Piazza Mulino, there are about 1.5 floors of stairs .... Thank you to Piazza Mulino 26 for the BEST stay of our trip and for excellent customer service and support !!! Even at the end of our stay, they tried to accommodate our schedule .... I wish we could have stayed longer ......
• Verified traveler (10/5): Deserves twice the allowable stars (at least 20!) - Not a big fan of everyone and everything being 5 stars, but in this case, Piazza Mulino 26 rises well above any of the other 13 properties we stayed in over 3.5 weeks. Constant communication from our host so we knew what to expect and when and even tried to accommodate us for our evening flight. The room is in very good condition - modern and stylish - with more amenities than the average room like a mini fridge, coffee machine and electric kettle. Plenty of hangers as well. The bed is very comfortable with nice linens and plenty of pillows. There are tables available for use within wifi reach on the piazza. By the way, it seems not all Matera accommodations have wifi, so check the amenity listing (Piazza Mulino 26 does have great wifi). As well, our host gave us great information regarding the best walking route, route to the national park and interesting things to see. The old city is just a few blocks away, so it is very convenient.

• Laura (10/5): Excellent accommodation, difficult to find. - The room was well appointed, spotless clean and in a terrific location, but the building where the property is was very difficult to find. It would be useful to know that piazza Mulino was a very tiny pedestrians-only piazza at the intersection of two roads and that we needed to climb some steps to get to it. Anna and Namira were very helpful and provided great recommendations. Now that we know how to find the place, we will certainly go back when we visit Matera again.

Nous nous sommes fait clairement engueuler et hurler dessus au téléphone par un membre du personnel qui parle "français" mais qui n est absoluement pas français, parce que nous demandons les codes d accès pour rentrer à l hôtel. Depuis 16h il etait convenu qu'ils nous les envoient, ils etaient là jusqu'à 19h...à 19h toujours aucun code, quand je leur demandais par message ils me repondaient ..."bon voyage", ou alors ... nous vous les enverrons le jour de votre arrivée" (oui mais c est là maintenant mon arrivée), et au final une personne très odieuse nous a appelé en nous hurlant dessus, sans même nous laisser parler. Nous n avions pas le droit de parler, dès que nous essayons de parler, elle nous couper la parole en hurlant !!! J ai appelé hotel.com pour signaler le problème avec cette personne de l'hôtel. Nous avons fini par avoir les codes et avons pu rentrer dans la chambre... tout d abord l hôtel est dans un quartier à éviter, très en insécurité. Apres avoir fait les pouilles... on tombe de haut avec ce quartier ! Pour accéder à l hôtel... de nombreux escaliers non précisé... sans ascenseur ... avec les bagages nous avons galeré...dans la chambre odeur tres forte et désagréable, présence d énormément de poussière. Mon ami etait en crise d allergie toute la nuit. Couvre lit avec des tâches et ne semblait pas propre. La salle de bain pas dans la chambre mais en face de la salle de chambre... bref ... Hôtel à éviter !

• Felix (10/5): - Una maravilla la atención de Laura ! En mi primera oportunidad no pude encontrar el hotel, porque le falta carteleria para verlo desde afuera. Está ubicado en un complejo comercial en el primer piso y para poder acceder hay que tener un código. Esta vez me enviaron un mensaje (Laura) y estuvo pendiente aconsejándonos en todo lo que necesitáramos para hacer el Check on varias horas antes. Se los aconsejo, esta fue mi segunda vez en este hotel. Está a 100 metros de la Estación Matera Céntrale y a 100 de los Sassi. Inmejorable ubicación. Gracias nuevamente a Laura !

• Paul (8/5): A centrally located accomodation - Accomodation is situated a few minutes walk from the Sassi. The apartment is very comfortable and quite spacious. We did a self check-in which was very detailed and easy to follow.

• 931kareenm (8/5): Wheelchair and tourist-friendly accommodation - Piazza Mulino 26 is in a very good location especially when you just have a few days in Matera. It is close by most the essentials: the Sassi is just some meters away, good restaurants, and cafes. it is also not far from the train or bus terminals. We chose Piazza Mulino 26 mainly because of the accessibility they offer for someone who is in wheelchair. It is one of the few places where you can stay is you need accessibility. The host is also pretty responsive. It was a great stay overall.

Il y a erreur sur l’info sur expédia, tout est barré et il n’y a personne pour nous ouvrir et donner les infos. Faut les appeler, quand on a pas de cellulaire avec internet, on est bien mal pris. La moindre des choses est de nous faire parvenir les infos des codes et numéro de chambre 24h à l’avance. C’était écrit Check-in a 15h et ouvert de 10h à 17h et personne. Heureusement un commerce nous a aidé à appeler quelqu’un pour qu’il nous donne les codes, très moche. Avec 4 chambres à s’occuper, la moindre des choses est d’aviser le client tôt! Pour le bruit très tard, pour le non service, je ne peux recommander.

• Dayna (4/5): - This property is in a fantastic location and is very affordable. This is not a hotel. There is no front desk staff. We were able to leave our bags with a maid prior to check in. So that was convenient. We were allowed to enter the premises (alone) around 3pm. Check-in on the website said 3:30…. The girl we spoke to said it was 4:00. Anyway, we had had a long day and needed a nap. Fell asleep around 3:30pm… at 4:00 someone knocked loudly on our door waking us up, rudely demanding papers and the $2 tourist tax. I was so upset at being disturbed that I couldn’t fall back asleep and I felt ill the rest of the day. In addition to the staff’s rudeness there was No toilet paper and no one around to give us any No cup in the bathroom No tissues No sheets on the hide a bed Power went out and again no staff around Lost wifi No do not disturb sign Shower leaking Loud buzzing every minute or so from AC which kept me awake most of the night despite having ear plugs Fridge didn’t work No luggage storage at the end of our stay. Checkout was at 10:00 but we had a tour that began at 10:30… The check in is late and the check out is early. When I sent a message to the establishment , I received an insulting email response in return. Overall it was a terrible experience. Thank goodness we only stayed one night.

• Christophe (10/5): Bon séjour à Matera - Chambre très spacieuse et très bien située à l’entrée du centre historique de Matera. Bonne climatisation et bon wifi. Il y a tout près un arrêt du bus n°1 qui mène au terminal des bus vers Bari et les autres villes d'Italie pour ceux et celles qui utilisent ce mode de transport.
• Samuel (8/5): Buon rapporto costi-benefici - Posizione eccellente, camera con. L'aria condizionata non funziona, ma hanno portato un ventilatore.
• josephine (4/5): - Purtroppo devo dare poche stelle. il Bagno non era molto pulito, c’erano capelli a terra e la doccia sporca. Nel complesso “non male” se non fosse che ho dimenticato una camicia di valore lì e magicamente non è stata più ritrovata… non ci tornerò.
• JUAN JOSE (2/5): - Colchón más pequeño que el somier. La ropa de cama, el mobiliario, cafetera muy sucia, gel y champú insuficiente, pelos en el baño, suiciedad por el suelo de la habitación y el baño.

• Marco (10/5): Hit the spot - Great location with very nice hosts. More importantly the room was very clean and spacious with lots of light. Only minor hiccup with check-in but overall would recommend.
• Michael (4/5): - We were charged 8 euro but the owner did not have chnge. She promised to get back to us with 2 euro but never did. The entry gate at the front entrance does not work from inside. We had to walk upstairs and through the back gate. The bed cover was very dirty. When we called with issues the owner was very irritated and never showed up again

• Francesca (10/5): Ci siamo trovate benissimo - Ci siamo trovate molto bene. La struttura è pulita e comoda. Noi abbiamo prenotato una camera doppia con bagno esterno poiché era l'unica disponibile, e in realtà è stato comodissimo e il bagno con doppia porta ha dato molta privacy. Molto consigliato! E il signor Camillo molto gentile.

The person checking me in would have been very helpful if they had taken at least the small bag I was carrying up the stairs and not leave me struggling with a big bag and small one 2. Consider putting a solid front on the fridge . The light is annoying.

• Bruna (10/5): Excelente atendimento - Fomos atendidos pelo Camillo, o qual foi muito prestativo e atencioso. Chegamos cedo e conseguimos entrar antes do horário previsto. O apartamento era bem espaçoso, limpo e muito confortável. Possui secador de cabelo, cafeteira e chaleira elétrica.

• Sianna Annie Lea (6/5): Opt out - It was a little strange to stay inside a shopping center. It’s right on the edge of the historic center/sassi. We were given loads of good food tips which we really appreciated. However, for the price of the room and the location, if I were to stay in Matera again, I would prefer to splurge on a room with a view. This room with a bit stuffy and dated.

You are minutes from the main square in Matera and the Sassi but paying a fraction of the cost of staying in one of the boutique hotels. Window blinds keep out the flashing lights and air con ensures a good nights sleep. Location is key and this place has the perfect location to explore Matera and the Sassi
