Guest Reviews
- Deshpandefarmsagro (7/5): - The location Steep for a sea facing room. Moreover u hv to navigate steps with huge bags. The person at front desk was nice. Breakfast was pathetic just bagels n tea
- Richard (9/5): Enjoyed our stay, wacking distance to everything - Excellent location, staff was nice and helpful
- Daniela (9/5): -
- Joel (10/5): Hotel should continue to maintain its high standards. - An outstanding location in a well run and clean hotel that is very quiet. Free breakfast could be improved beyond mass produced bagels.
- Eileen (9/5): Wonderful - Beautiful location great view No yogurt at breakfast
- Claire (10/5): - Location across from the ocean Nothing
- Mandy (9/5): -
- S (10/5): - Everything was great. Nice and clean. The staff were pleasant. The view was spectacular.
- Imran Khan (8/5): - Location
- Shawn (7/5): -
- Heather (8/5): Great - A few rooms away from us guests had their hotel door propped open and were smoking marijuana which made the whole hallway smoke. We prefer a nonsmoking environment.
- Gloria (10/5): -
- Yaritza (10/5): - The beach front view!! So relaxing...
- Mary (10/5): -
- Deborah (9/5): -
- Luis v (3/5): - Location People were working on ladders right outside my windows
- Kristin (10/5): - The view is always the best. The front desk staff is very nice. This is one of our go to places. Nothing really.
- Rusty (10/5): -

- marc (8/5): -
- Linda (9/5): Love it here! - The view of the ocean, the bed was comfortable, and very clean. N/A
- Karl (7/5): - Location, decent value for the dollar. Also proximity to URI. Desk was cramped next to bed. Would have been better if the desk and dresser were shifted a bit to the left, allowing me to sit at it more comfortably.
- Lawrence (7/5): I could afford it this time, in December, but I suspect it will more expensive in season. - Big clean room, huge comfortable bed, plentiful hot water in shower. Friendly reception. No hangers in closet. Light switch at door didn't do anything (but the lamps inside worked fine). Breakfast was so meager it was funny: choice of two dry Cheerio-like cereals, both very sweet, or some store-bought bread and bun things. (However, there was fresh milk and a bottle of orange juice in the fridge.).
My plans changed at the last minute, so I had to reserve a second night. Bizarrely this required that I check in twice. (My room door was locked when I tried to enter on the second night.). This was quickly dealt with by the woman at the front desk, but rather still rather goofy -- I had to present my driiver's license again to the same woman.

- Bernice (6/5): - Lovely staff, good location Dated

- Vicky (4/5): The location was good. The hotel itself was disappointing - The breakfast is misleading on hotel ad. It’s just stale cereal and bagels. The coffee was in drinkable. Thought there would be free access to beach since we were staying right across street. The outside of the hotel is magnificent. Once you step inside…it’s like going back 40 years. The breakfast was awful. If your advertisement says breakfast included, have something besides stale cereal and packaged bagels
- Garrett (4/5): . - Location was great Room smelled of water damage, really killed the experience when we were in the room. Big spot of water damage around the A/C unit
- Sabrina (4/5): Nice view but old rooms . Wouldn’t stay there again . - . The view from our room was beautiful . The staff at front desk was great . The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly and polite The room smelled and is completely outdated . The headboard was completely crooked . Bathtub is old with peeling walls
- Joseph (8/5): -
- Lisa (3/5): Not worth $449 per night - Location is all your paying for It’s run down and not updated. Needs to be renovated or pricing reduced
The place was terrible
- Donna (8/5): We enjoyed our 1 night stay! - Clean and friendly staff! Very close to the Coast Guard Anchor Room Restaurant which was great! Nice balcony overlooking the ocean! Grab n’ go breakfast. Appreciate that! The bed could’ve been more comfortable and was a full not a queen. It’s wasn’t terrible though.
- Lisa (2/5): We willnot be staying tgere again - The only thing good was the location to Narragansett Beach It’s a motel trying to be something it isn’t. While it was clean, and obviously refreshed, it was outdated and they try to unsuccessfully cover up its flaws.
We were also woken up from a sound sleep at 2.30 in the morning by a group of young man staying in the room behind us, hooting and hollering. The management tried to contact them and things ecentually did settle down, but not before we lost 2-3 hours of sleep. We asked for some sort of compensation or credit, but they refused.

- Eddie (10/5): Perfect - Everything met our expectations. Staff was friendly and helpful. The view from our room was beautiful and the hotel was perfect. Thank you

- Kerry (8/5): -
- Patricia (8/5): - Room had a funky smell, had to ask staff for air freshener
- Karen (10/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): Close to beach and university. Was comfortable and warm - Close to the university The water pressure in the shower could have been better
- Destini (10/5): You're the pinnacle of Newport - Everything Nothing
- Debbie (8/5): -
- Brian (9/5): -
- B (7/5): Just Okay - Location, Parking, Bed sheets on the bed were incorrect; they were inside out and not on the mattress very well.
No inside safety lock on the door.
No Coffee made in the morning at the breakfast area nor was there anything else at 8:00 am and 9:00 am
No Yogurt, No Fruit, No Hard boiled eggs. just bread and butter per the person working the front desk and the bread was never put out so I could find it. (Don't offer breakfast if your not going to do it correctly)
- Michael (10/5): -
- Sandra (8/5): Enjoyable 2nd visit I'll be back - The bed was very comfortable and the quiet was maintained Nothing
- Jeanne (9/5): -
- Phil (9/5): A very pleasant stay Narragansett - Leon and the entire staff were very welcoming and flexible. The location was fine and the view magnificent.
- Woodward (10/5): We will be back - Location was perfect, staff was friendly, cute room and grounds Not a thing to dislike
- Gerald (7/5): Wonderful views and a great sound of the ocean with the window open - It was great that you had a front ocean of your room and a private balcony. The bathroom door squeak pretty badly and the bathroom is small
- patricia m (8/5): - Dated….but great views!
- Maureen (4/5): - Not as advertised
- Sharon (6/5): - Friendly staff, place is slightly worn down, dated, the location is great with nice decks looking out over the ocean. Breakfast isn’t great - cereal and packaged bagels in refrigerator. Downside - shower was dirty, hair in drain.
- Desiree (6/5): - For the price, the hotel lacked amenities. Felt like a motel. Very outdated inside. Bed sheets were like paper. Property grounds could have used some Adirondack chairs facing the ocean. Lots of potential.
- Kathleen (5/5): View is a 10, room is a 4 - Excellent location Very old and dated. bathroom very old
- Kathy (10/5): - Would like Better coffee and breakfast bagel options.
- Charles (10/5): - Easy parking. Easy walk to restaurants and great sunrise views of the ocean!
- David (10/5): - Lovely staff
- christopher (8/5): - A nice older hotel in a central location. Everything worked and was freshly painted. Big set of stairs to second floor. Breakfast was very limited: store bagels and cereal, good coffee, OJ from concentrate. Bed a little soft for us. Large room with separate sitting area and small waterfront balcony with chairs.
- Richard (9/5): -
- Karen (10/5): - Great location - close to beach, shopping & restaurants.
- Linda (8/5): The room was clean but the location was spectacular! - Proximity to Naragansett Bay and the beach. The posted description made it seem to be a bed and breakfast. It was not. It is a small hotel with a “breakfast nook” which provided bagels, cold cereal, coffee, orange juice, and milk.
- Gayle (10/5): - I loved the view and the extra sitting area. The outside patio was perfect and made for a wonderful relaxing stay which was just what I needed.
- Robin (10/5): Can’t go wrong with this hotel! - We stayed at this hotel in June for an event and we we needed to come back for another event, I booked the hotel a 2nd time. My other half told the desk clerk that he recognized him from June and that nice man upgraded us to an oceanside suite.
Pros: the location is amazing, the staff is just lovely, the room was super clean and there’s a continental breakfast.
Cons: yeah, maybe the decor is a little tired, but you won’t notice it when you’re sitting on your deck watching the sunsets!
It’s on my list of go-tos now whenever we’re up in that area!
- edmund (1/5): Very bad - Nothing No room makeup .between days. 2 queen beds jammed into area barely large enough for one. Breakfast laughable and hotel workers took two available indoor seats each morning . Outdoor sitting area or so called balcony was more lke a 4 ft wide alley unusable. Front desk clerk rude and unfriendly. Very undesirable facility as it was dark and needed work. I've travelled extensively for work and by far worst situation ever
- Jill (1/5): Don't go! - Very near the ocean and good restaurants. Wasn't as clean as years past.
My husband and I booked a 2 night stay with our child. The front desk asked us if we wanted to hold a 3rd night. We said ok. However we weren't able to stay. They charged us and won't refund the money because we didn't cancel 7 days in advance. Not possible if you were offered to have a room held less than 24 hours prior. We canceled the evening before. The never filled the room and the woman at the front desk was terrible and very rude to us. We lost $450 and they lost repeat customers. What a shame. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
- satterfield (10/5): - yeah nothing
- Kendall (10/5): - Perfect location, especially for ocean views that my wife and I enjoy, very picturesque.
- Jonathon (8/5): - Fantastic view of the Atlantic from our room. The only downside is that there are only stairs to reach the upper floors. But it is within walking distance of several shops, restaurants, and the beach.
- karen (10/5): -
- Carlie (4/5): - The deadbolt to our hotel didn't work and for the price of 400 a night just for an ocean view, the outdated utilities and lack of safety did not feel worth it. The shore house has almost the exact same view, but significantly upgraded rooms. While it has an amazing location, safety was not a priority.
- Dave (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Room was very accommodating. Beautiful view of the ocean.
- Sandra (7/5): Could be great because of the location and friendliness of the staff. - I loved the location. The staff was very friendly. The coffee in the morning was great and so are the water bottles at the front desk. There was hair in our shower upon check-in, which to me meant the shower had not been cleaned. There was also a dirty washcloth behind the toilet. There was popcorn on the floor and some mold in the air conditioner vent. the loveseat and chair in the sitting area Are upholstered in a type of plastic. It wasn’t comfortable to sit in.
- Stacie (4/5): - I rarely give subpar reviews but I’ll never stay at this hotel again. This is a diamond in the rough- it could be amazing. All the furniture in the bedroom needs to be thrown out or used for a bonfire. Ironing board and iron need to go. The bathroom cabinet had water rot on the side. The painter they hired painted on the bathroom shower- sloppy. One of the outlets was painted white. There was an alarm clock not plugged in. Just sitting there on the nightstand. The toilet paper holder was nailed to a block of wood which was then nailed to the wall. Same as the towel bar. The rooms and entire hotel need a major makeover. The ice machine had 3 different signs on it stating one bi let of ice per room becuase the coat of ice is high. Seriously? No water in the room- it’s downstairs at the lobby for $1. If I’m paying over $200 per night for a small hotel room where the door does not shut- throw in the $1 water please. The exterior needs to be landscaped- front entrance is really the side- poor signage. The consumer has too many options - The Atlantic needs to do much better!
- Heather (8/5): - It’s right across the street from the ocean and walkable to the coast guard house, towers, etc.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Nice experience - My husband and I had a good experience for a one night stay in this friendly little hotel. We had never been to this area before, and it seems that all the hotels are independently owned. We were happy to not stay in one of the cookie-cutter chains. Located on the water, we took a nice walk along the sea wall. The staff was super friendly and recommended a great restaurant. We had everything we needed. Recommended
- Jiménez (10/5): -
- William (8/5): - Asked questions at check-in and received no information about rules and procedures for non-resident beach access.
- tom (6/5): - Included breakfast was coffee and store bought bagel
- Natalie (9/5): Beautiful views, comfortable stay, centrally located - To is very centrally located Nothing
- Jane (8/5): - The location of the hotel is perfect. The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very basic - for one or 2 nights ok but store bagels and cheerios is it. We were there for 5 days so we went out a couple of times
- Daniel (6/5): - It’s a 3 star with a great view in a convenient location. It was clean but old. For $400 night I expect daily fresh quality linen and towels. The bath towel are like dish towels. If you’re hoping to do laundry, there is no washing machine available. That’s about it.
- jalbert (6/5): It was ok. Little pricey for the room.but im sure im paying for location. But was not the worst. - Location, frigarator, staff, small area to go outside on second floor.breafast nook. Sheets, bed, cost of room, extra charge for service dog,
- Theresa (6/5): - I was disappointed there was no elevator to get upstairs . I had to carry the suitcases because my husband has two torn Rotor cuffs. Our room was very small with a king size bed in it. The shower curtain liner smelled of mildew. I just felt we got a leftover room that needed some updating. The television was very good and obviously very new. The towels were clean and more than adequate . The view from their terrace was spectacular! I wish I had an opportunity to see another room even on the first floor. The staff was very nice.
- Marlon (10/5): -
- Antone (8/5): - Awesome area!
- Scharmer (7/5): - Great location and views from the ocean side rooms. Liked the common balcony.
- Mike (10/5): - We loved being right across the beach. The room was small, but was fine. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Graig (2/5): - No locks on doors. No on-site employees at all. No lighting. Most run-down place I’ve ever seen.
- Julianne (10/5): - The location is the best. Lots of parking and in a walkable area with all the options. Food, shopping, views, etc. The patio is great with great views.
- grant (8/5): Overall experience was excellent the views the staff the breakfast everything was great - The location is phenomenal and the breakfast was great The mattresses could have been a little bit more comfortable
- Sherra (10/5): Great Location - The view from the deck was amazing and the location was unbeatable! The front desk service was great and there were bagels and coffee stocked at the breakfast nook which made for a great way to quickly fuel before a beach day. We really enjoyed having our morning coffee on the deck. The standard rooms are on the smaller side, but it worked perfectly for us because we spent most of our time at the beach anyways. The shops and restaurants were very walkable. We will definitely be back!
- Brad (6/5): Tough stay - The coffee was good in the morning. The entire write up is inaccurate, 10 minute walk to the town beach not Scarborough the state beach - 10 minute ride for that beach. Partial ocean view rooms are motel rooms, I would not recommend it at all. The ocean view from the lodge is over a concrete wall with large rocks below. The stale musty smell in the room was tough to get past and the interior blemishes are not something I could recommend. Standard or ocean view rooms may be better but I just don’t know.
- Beverly (10/5): - Across the street from the ocean. I went for the oportunity to relax, be by the ocean, do some walking, visit local seafood restaurants, and enjoy sitting on my balcony and reading (and inside in AC when it was too hot to be outdoors, but i could still look out my window at the ocean.)
- Rolf A (6/5): - Typical motel. Stay one night and move no amenities The biggest problem was no lounging or public spaces. The “ breakfast nook” was minimal. Just coffee and some muffins to heat up. No place to sit and eat. We did not consider the outdoor couches as breakfast places.
- William (6/5): - This place is OK only. We stayed in the"annex' which is a different section than the front of the motel. The room had a musty smell, and a damp feel. The door didn't shut completely and the door jamb looked as though it had seen better days. The air conditioning was older, kind of noisy and I think that's where the musty smell was coming from. I can't honestly recommend this motel, especially for the money they charge.
