- Amanda (10/5): Beautiful apartment in a Victorian house close to the Waterfront
Gail - The apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood but a 5 min taxi ride away from the Waterfront. All of our tour drivers were willing to pick us up from our accommodation which was a bonus. It's very spacious and was lovely to return to after a long day of sightseeing and excursions.
Stuart the owner is very accommodating and lives close for any issues
You can see beautiful sunrises and sunsets and the ocean from the terrace
Everywhere exceptionally clean and the beds very comfortable too.
I would definitely return and Stuart and Tatenda thank you The steps to the entrance are steep for anyone with mobility issues
You can hear other tenants in the above apartment moving around but we were so tired it didn't affect us much
A curtain etc over the main door to our apartment would offer more privacy

There was juice and milk in the fridge and some butter, jam and a loaf bread. It was wonderful to have these items.
A lovely old Victorian house. Pet friendly Although there was bread, jam, butter, milk and juice, there were also condiments that appeared very old. There were lots of utensils, but some essentials were missing e.g. no spatula.
We could hear the guests in the upstairs apartment. The floors are noisy, and the TV could be heard. I am sure the upstairs guests could hear us too.

- Silvia (10/5): - Stuart is a wonderful host! Upon arrival he had organized basic necessities (coffee, milk, bread etc.) since we arrived quite late in Cape Town. He was quick to help us with queries in and around the flat. For us girls it was absolutely wonderful to walk everywhere - the stadium (concerts), supermarket just around the corner and restaurants nearby. The flat is clean and spacious and I would definitely come and visit again with my family.

Parking - Nice , comfortable apartment, super Location, close to the promenade and V&A waterfront mall. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The furniture needs an upgrade, kitchen needs a deep cleaning.

- Sally (10/5): Excellent location, fabulous spacious apartment, great hospitality! - Braeside House is in a fantastic, safe location and within approximately 20 minutes’ walking distance to the V & A Waterfront. The loft apartment is exactly as shown in the photographs, only better, and the views are lovely. It is really spacious, light and airy and very comfortable. We loved the character of it, being an old post Victorian house. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your own meals and we particularly appreciated the eggs, bread, butter, milk, juice, tea and coffee that Stuart had thoughtfully provided so that we didn’t need to go out again after our long drive. Such a lovely gesture. The neighbourhood is very quiet and just minutes away is a supermarket and several restaurants. We highly recommend Braeside as a place to stay in Cape Town. Thank you, Stuart. We really enjoyed our stay here and it was also a pleasure to spend a bit of time with you on our last evening! This is not really a criticism because it is made very clear when booking, but the off-street parking might be a bit of a squeeze if you have a large car.

This is such a wonderful surprise. There is a great view from the lounge... Great having satellite TV to watch after a long site seeing day..lots of facilities that we did not use, washing machine, BBQ, coffee machine..everything was great.. definitely recommend and would stay again Nothing, all wonderful

- Paula (10/5): Great find - This was a fantastic stay . Thanks to the owner Stewart and the house keeper Teresita . It is a home that has been converted into two apartments. Upstairs is a one bedroom with extra double Murphy bed in the lounge area if needed . This apartment has beautiful views of the Capetown waterfront . The downstairs apartment is two bedroom two bathroom with large kitchen dinning lounge . All rooms are beautiful and the apartment is fully equipped with anything you may need . Location is great . 7 min walk to supermarket , bottle shop and cafes . 20 min walk to VA waterfront Mall . 30!min walk to town . There is a bus stop and regular buses if you prefer not to walk . Warning . It is uphill on the way home . Stuart and Teresa live on site in their own apartments however are close by if you need help with anything at all . This is a great find fir a great price if you are not looking for a five star hotel . We loved our stay and will definitely return to Braeside House for our next stay .

- Flockula (8/5): Very good - Very spacious & comfortable. Quiet & convenient location. Proximity to shops, restaurants, cafes, park and waterfront prom is great. It's a characterful oldish apartment, so a bit crumbly in parts. Not really an issue, but may need some reno soon. The floors are creaky and very noisy when people staying in loft apartment above are stomping around and coming in at all times of the night. Suggest that you tell them to take off their shoes on entry.

- Maurice (8/5): Great value for money, very spacious and good location - We stayed almost two weeks for a workation. So we spend quite some time in the main apartment.
Great location, spacious apartment, comfy beds and pillows and well equipped kitchen. Internet is good and there is a back up generator (for approx 1-2h of electricity) in case of load shedding.
Please be aware that the cleaning lady (and sometimes owner) have to walk through this apartment. I didn’t find it annoying tho. OK chairs and big table to work at. Very noisy from outside and especially upper apartment (loft), could literally hear upper neighbors talking and walking all time. It’s a very old house so could use some refurbishment. Sofa and kitchen stuff are very outdated and could use replacement.

- Richard (10/5): Outstanding loft space with fantastic views - This space is a fantastic option for your stay in Cape Town.
It’s a nicely converted loft space in a Victorian home in quiet residential area. It features outstanding views - including the ocean/stadium from the bedroom/lounge and the mountain from the terrace on the rear.
Everything has been included should you wish to self cater - although there’s many great restaurant options nearby -Uber will collect you directly from the front of the property.
Overall we were extremely happy with our stay here and would highly recommend it - especially as it is great value for money. The only issue is that access is via very steep stairs - if you have any mobility issues this might prove quite challenging.
- KL (10/5): Phenomenal views from front & rear outlooks - Our check-in/out timings were flexible and the explanations comprehensive: appliances, safe, TV, security, etc. It was great to have the fresh bread, butter, jam, fruit, milk & juice and bottle of water, coffee & tea provided. The large windows & skylights enhanced the spaciousness of the rooms.
There are a number of stairs to reach the top floor, so great exercise, but could be steep for some. The bed & chairs were very comfortable.
If decor were to be updated in future, a slightly larger, more inviting settee/couch could be added and updated draperies for the bedroom and TV area.
Extremely pleasing overall!
