Wolfgang (10/5): Ein muss für Zebraliebhaber - Die Lodge liegt nahe Jeffries Bay, sodass man leicht dorthin kommen kann wenn man etwas unternehmen möchte. Das Zimmer war groß und schön eingerichtet. Das Beste waren die Zebras. Es sind Wildtiere, die aber keine Scheu vor dem Menschen haben, sodass sie ganz nah kommen. Bei uns sind sie morgens an den Schiebetüren vom Zimmer vorbeigelaufen und haben neugierig bei Frühstück zugeschaut. Man kann auf der Lodge auch wandern auf gut ausgeschilderten Wegen, leider hört man beim wandern stellenweise leise den Verkehr der N2. Nichts hat alles gepasst

Anja (10/5): Tolles Erlebnis !.. - Einfach schön aufzuwachen und die Zebras vor der Tür bei einem Kaffee zu beobachten ! Das war das absolute Highlight! -
Caroline (10/5): Unvergesslicher, entspannter Aufenthalt weit weg vom Trubel, nahe an der Natur. - Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt! Man hat wirklich die Zebras vor der Türe und kann sie beobachten. Rings herum gibt es viel Möglichkeiten für Sport und einfach Ruhe. Ein Ort zum runterkommen! Sehr sauber, freundliches Personal und tolle Eigentümer. Trotzdem, dass man so weit weg war, hat man den Verkehr recht gut gehört. Das war etwas schade aber sonst, wirklich unvergesslich!

Daniel (10/5): - Tolles Zimmer mit Terrasse, wo wir früh von den Zebras geweckt und empfangen wurden. Die Nähe zu diesen schönen Tieren ist wundervoll. Die Gastgeber haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen und auch bei persönlichen Anliegen unterstützt. Vielen Dank für diese Gastfreundschaft. Da fällt uns nichts ein, allerdings sollte man schon Zebras mögen damit man hier eine gute Zeit hat.

Maria (9/5): Must do Zebra stay - A unique and different experience staying at the Zebra Lodge . Superb accommodation, clean and spacious , literally sharing our patio with many Zebras . We enjoyed our three nights which was more than enough . Breakfast and evening meal were just about ok , but that could be us being picky. One of the nights there was no evening meal offered and no local restaurants nearby , also we didn’t want to drive in the dark . A microwave and some plates & cutlery in the room would be useful.

A bonus with zebras around :) - Nice spacious and modern room, friendly and welcoming staff, excellent breakfast, nice view, nice hike trails on the property, cute zebras The restaurant was closed the night we stayed there, that was a pity so we bought own food with us.
Alexandra (7/5): Schöner Aufenthalt für 2 Tage - Wir haben 2 Übernachtungen in der Zebra lodge verbracht. Zuerst in einem Zelt und sind dann in eine Suite gewechselt. Beides sind schöne Zimmer und man kann die Zebras gut beobachten. Die Gastgeber waren am ersten Tag da und haben uns am Abend persönlich begrüsst. Das Essen am Abend war ein fixes 3 Gang Menü ohne Auswahl und war lecker. Das Frühstück war auch umfangreich mit Eierspeisen zum Bestellen Wir waren zuerst im Zelt. Dieses ist auch wirklich schön aber es gab lose Dielenbretter und das WiFi war nicht gut und brach teils komplett ab. Nachdem die Gastgeber abgereist waren liess der Service nach. Die Hinterlassenschaften der Zebras wurden nicht entfernt und die komplette Terrasse war verdreckt. Es sind Tiere und das gehört dazu, das ist klar, aber es sollte trotzdem mehr sauber gemacht werden. Das Frühstück hat bei Bestellungen leider sehr lange gedauert. Teils über 30 Minuten obwohl nichts los war und die Speisen waren dann auch schon sehr kalt bis serviert.

Maximilian (10/5): Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt und perfekt für einen kleinen Einblick in die Tierwelt von Südafrika! - - So ziemlich alles - Gleich bei der Ankunft waren Zebras in Sicht und sonst auch jeden Tag sehr viele in der Nähe und im Garten herum - Das komplette Ambiente war ein Traum - Abendessen hervorragend!!! - Personal hat sich super gekümmert, nachgefragt und waren sehr freundlich. BesitzerIN kam beim Abendessen vorbei und fragte jeden Tisch ob alles in Ordnung ist - sehr freundlich! Dabei kann man täglich wählen ob man in der Unterkunft Abendessen möchte oder nicht. - Zimmer sind bis aufs kleinste Detail liebevoll eingerichtet und super sauber. Alle waren sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend! :) Der Aufenthalt war perfekt. Leider hat bei uns das WLAN nicht immer gut funktioniert.

Wir waren 2 Erwachsene ein Kind dort, doch anscheinend wussten sie nichts vom Kind, haben dementsprechend immer nur für 2 gedeckt, obwohl die Buchung vorlag, daher haben sie unser Kind auch immer komisch angeguckt. Hans (10/5): Schön von den Zebras begrüßt zu werden auch zwei Affen sagten Hallo - Wir reisen schon viele Jahre nach Südafrika. Die Zebra Lodge haben wir das erste Mal besucht und bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal Die Gastgeber sind vor Ort und immer ansprechbar. Das Haus wunderbar hell und geräumig. Das Dinner war frisch gekocht und hat sich in den 4 Tagen unseres Aufenthaltes nicht wiederholt Es war sehr lecker. Danke für die gute Zeit Es gibt nlchts zu beanstanden

Theresa (10/5): Wunderschöne Tage mit den Zebras - Die Lodge liegt etwas erhöht dementsprechend hat man einen schönen Blick vor allem vom Pool aus. Wir hatten Glück und die Zebras waren sehr präsent, was uns natürlich sehr gefreut hat. Das Abendessen (3-Gänge Menü) war jeden Abend sehr lecker und auch das Frühstück war gut. Wir hatten eine super schöne Zeit und kommen irgendwann gerne wieder zurück!
Jan (10/5): Wunderschöne Lodge und unglaublicher Service! - Wie soll man noch Worte finden für diese Unterkunft? Es war einfach nur wahnsinnig schön. Selbstverständlich ist bereits das Ambiente mit den schönen Suites, die auf einer Anhöhe mit tollem Ausblick auf die Bucht von Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) liegen, und den Zebras, die tatsächlich ein ständiger Besucher der Gäste sind, etwas ganz Besonderes. Darüber hinaus war aber auch die Gastfreundschaft der Gastgeber unglaublich und jederzeit zu spüren. Das inklusive Frühstück war ebenfalls vorzüglich und wunderbar angerichtet. Wir haben darüber hinaus auch an beiden Abenden unseres Aufenthalts das Dinner in der Lodge gebucht und waren hellauf begeistert. Besser haben wir während unseres gesamten Urlaubs in Südafrika nicht gegessen und das will wirklich etwas heißen. Es war ein rundum perfekter Aufenthalt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder! Nichts, es war alles perfekt.

Amber (9/5): Quiet luxury with delicious cuisine. - Beautiful setting on a bill overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous sunsets, and adorable zebras all over. The common room was stunning, with a cozy fire and huge floor to ceiling windows. The food was amazing! Book the dinner…you won’t regret it. The made to order breakfast was also very good. I especially loved the soft muffin type breakfast rolls with powdered sugar…I’d pay for that recipe, they were delectable. We stayed in a luxury tent. Very comfortable, with super soft plush robes, and a warming blanket to keep us warm on a chilly night. Amazing stay, and we’ll tell our friends.

siobhan (10/5): A wonderfully unique experience! - On arrival we were amazed at the beautiful design and decor of the main building as well as the presence of the zebras grazing so close to us as we got out of our car. The hosts, Didier and Florbella, were lovely and made sure we were well looked after.The resident chefs made delicious breakfasts each morning and the food in the evening was so good we ate in for the three nights we stayed there. Our “tent”, which was really a hut with canvas walls and a thatched roof, was great - very clean and well appointed; glamping rather than camping! From our balcony we were able to see 2 giraffes on the other side of the valley too. We particularly enjoyed the free-roaming zebras, and how close they came to the building, while still being essentially wild animals. Altogether, a unique experience; one not to be missed!

Although we mentioned it during booking, as well as personally, that we are staying over for our wedding anniversary, no effort was made to do something special to make our stay memorable. Even one flower, or chocolate on the bed could make it memorable.
Ulrike (9/5): You have to stay there!!! - Highly recommended – one of the most beautiful lodges during our South Africa trip in October/November. The J-Bay Zebra Lodge is a true highlight, especially because of the free-roaming zebras that frequently pass by the lodge. It’s important to know that this isn’t a zoo; the zebras are still wild animals, though they are accustomed enough to people to come close. A respectful distance should still be kept; for instance, touching or petting them isn’t possible. Florbela and her husband are charming hosts; we had several pleasant conversations about the country, the people, and the creation of the lodge. We also had dinner at the lodge twice. Although it was a bit more expensive than dining in Jeffreys Bay, we were very satisfied both times and found the atmosphere to be very pleasant and inviting. We stayed in a separate cottage to the right of the lodge and were thrilled by the spacious room and the stunning view over the land all the way to Jeffreys Bay. If you love zebras, enjoy quality accommodations, and want a reasonably priced stay in this area, you should absolutely spend two nights at this lodge.

We were surprised that charges were made for water, snacks and extra coffee pods in the room. The evening meal was a set menu with no choices. Vladimir (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay - Very nice place, we loved it here! The rooms are spacious and the cleanest we have ever seen! The beds are very comfortable. You see the zebras every day, they are fun to watch. We had dinner three times, its a 3 course meal and was very tasty. They had great vegetarian options also. The staff was very friendly, so were the owners, a couple from switzerland. The owner recommanded a walk on the dunes only 10 minutes from the guesthouse by car. It was stunningly beautiful! We would love to come again some day when our son is older. Everything was great.

Overall friendly, helpful staff We didn't realise when we booked that it is not in JBay, but about 30 mins drive away. The name is a little misleading. We had staff come into our room before we'd checked out(I was actually still in the room getting ready!) To "check what we'd used" . That felt a bit unnecessary and not very professional. We also had some issues with the way breakfast was served - all the food placed on our table before we'd even gotten to the dining room, and covered in flies as none of it was covered up. A bit grim. Unfortunate as breakfast looked lovely but we didn't eat much of it because of that. Perhaps better to wait until guests actually there ,/ or cover everything up.
Yjgreenwood (6/5): Has potential - We liked there were zebras on the property. The staff were stiff, a rather awkward trying to converse, it didn’t feel warm or welcoming. We did laundry and item wasn’t washed but still charged for it, even though they said it wouldn’t have been I could see as I was paying and it wasn’t even checked properly when questioned. No wifi at all in the rooms which was very shocking, considering there’s nothing to do on property it would’ve been good to atleast have WiFi.
