Guest Reviews
- Courtney (8/5): - Clean and friendly. Good place for grabbing sleep before an early flight out of Heathrow terminal 5. Had a fire alarm go off (it was New Year’s Eve so you can guess why it went off) but staff did a great job following procedures and clearing us to quickly get back to our rooms. Only complaint is while there are USB outlets near the beds, the only outlets were across the room which is a problem for those of us who sleep with CPAP machines.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a comfortable stay. I had a good nights rest which was all I needed prior to my flight the same day.
- Lynn (10/5): - Great for a quick pit stop before your flight the next day.
- Jules (6/5): Airport hotel - Arriving very late after delays and hours of travelling it would have been nice to be greeted by a friendly person rather than the sarcastic receptionist that we met! A polite question about where to park was greeted with a very surly sarcastic remark totally unneccessary!
Room was fine but the bathroom was not great - there appeared to be a blood smear on the door and the toilet seat was loose and moved around. Bath/shower leaked all over the floor !
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Absurd ten-pounds additional charge to check in before 2pm, even though rooms were cleaned and ready and available. Staff could not have been nicer, even offering to give a free coffee if we wanted to wait until 2pm, but they could not override the system. Wifi was also not free, which is crazy in this day and age. Everything else was fine and good value for money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Painful to get there from Heathrow and back. took almost two hours as there was no bus. Had to take a cab and pay 25 GBP.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic - Very clean and basic.
- Regina (8/5): - Very helpful staff.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very disappointed sorry I booked here. - Too far from airport to be described as T5 . Dead bug in room.
- Isam (6/5): Good for overnight stay - Room is clean, comfortable bed, very basic, good for overnight stay, no room service, no phone in the room, poor wi fi , all services are contracted to outsider, if you have an issue you have to call each one.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good night's sleep after landing. Basic accomodation. 300 min free wifi. No free breakfast
- Behshid (2/5): Poor facility - The shower did not have shower cap, or shower hose. It was impossible to take a shower and keep the hair dry. Did not have hand towel or soap either. They could not exchange dollars or euro for pounds. To buy a bus ticket I could not even use my visa or American Express card either, so they had me take a taxi to the airport.
- andorra (10/5): Airport Hotel close to Terminal 5 - Very friendly place to stay due to the atmosphere in the lounge downstairs. My room had very comfortable bed and bathroom with bathtub. Oh joy! There’s nothing better than soaking after long journey.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A nice and value for money hotel close to Heathrow Airport
- Verified traveler (6/5): - its nice but got given the disabled room which was a bit musty and all amenities where for me where a little low but would i suppose be perfect for some one in a wheel chair
- Sumit (4/5): :( meh - Parking full, and lot dangerous to park. Room very basic. Soap missing.
- Maria (2/5): - Extremely bad experience. To begin this hotel is not connected with terminal 5 at all, next I reserved a 3 beds room, when a check in at midnight the attendant told me the do not have 3 beds room and want to send me to another Travelodge at my own expense. Since i barely have time for a nap and a shower i took a queen bed room. Also the room included continental breakfast and he said, he was not sure. I showed him that my confirmation was for 3 beds and continental breakfast and finally he said ok, you can have breakfast. Not recommended at all.
- jim (8/5): Heathrow Terminal 5 Hotel - Comfortable reasonably priced Hotel 10 mins fom LHR.
The Taxi cost us 25 pounds from the airport and 12 pounds to return
- Pad (6/5): Cheap stopover after a late afternoon flight - Not bad, cheap, spacious enough room for family of 4 to crash, not to far from the airport terminal 5. It can get loud with airplane noise, extra beds weren't the most comfortable, but still managed to crash after a long day of traveling. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay if you need a spot near Heathrow. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean, breakfast was great.
- john (6/5): Hard to find - We drove around in circles to find the hotel poor directions on the web site hard to find even the entrance to the car park
- K (8/5): Find the bus to this hotel!! - Can’t complain about the hotel in general. Good price, decent room, good food. The people at night are very upbeat. Just make sure you know that’s there’s actually a bus going to this hotel. It’s not actually by terminal 5 of heathrow airport. It’s very very far. My first night in England and I had to walk to that hotel.
- monica (10/5): Good! - I found this hotel online looking for something close to the airport and not too expensive. I stay there to and from my trip to Italy from USA. Easy access from terminal 3 and 5 with the train Heathrow express, I had to change for the terminal 4 but not so difficult. The bus Hoppa 57 at the exit of terminal 5 arrive just in front of the Hotel Travelodge terminal 5. The hotel offers nice big free breakfast from 5 in the morning and dinner with several dishes and affordable prices. The staff we were really friendly. I was travelling alone and felt really safe.
- Izzy (6/5): The name may say Heathrow but beware - Wi-Fi costs 3pound for 24 hour. It is in the middle of an industrial estate - only 2 buses per hour to and from airport. If you're late (because it takes ages to get to the airport) there is no bus and taxis are reluctant to travel there.
- Jonni (6/5): Okay but not a first choice - If you thrill to the sound of jet engines soaring from a runway, you'll love this place. The super strong scent of air-freshener apparently masked the previous occupant's revels, barely hinted at by sticky red stains on the desk and an equally tacky bathroom floor. However, the young staff were polite, pleasant and helpful, which makes up for a lot of negatives in my experience. There is easy access to Terminal 5 and from there to other terminals, so a stay here is convenient for a stopover. Bring earplugs if sleep is a priority.
- Fed (8/5): nice hotel close to airport. - Nice, comfortable and close to airport with convenient bus service. Could do with more than just one bath towel per person and the individual small soap and shampoo as provided in similar hotels in Canada.
- Andy (2/5): One of the worst hotels I've ever been in - Travel Lodge nickel and dime you to death for every single thing, and the place is a complete and total dump. They charge you £18 for a 1.5-mile bus ride to the terminal. Yes, that's correct, £18 for a bus ride. Then they wanted to charge me £10 to check my bags in 45 minutes early. I refused to pay, so I sat in the lobby for 45 minutes. They have the nerve to charge you some ridiculous amount for wi-fi which I refused to pay, they charge you for breakfast, which was not even ready by the time the bus left in the morning. The rooms DON'T EVEN HAVE PHONES, according to my friend, this is so it makes it more difficult to complain to the desk. The rooms are furnished like a 1970's era truck stop -- basically just a bed and a filthy bathroom. There is basically nothing within walking distance of the hotel, so without a car, you're trapped there, at the mercy of their overpriced cafeteria. The food quality is pretty grim, I've had better meals in a high-school cafeteria.
Travel Lodges all over the UK are equally as bad. I seriously can't understand how this dump is still in business.
DO NOT STAY HERE, DO NOT STAY AT A TRAVEL LODGE EVER!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Don't stay here. Drain backed up. Dirty carpet. Noisy.
- neerja (8/5): - Apart from the hotel to be approachable from Heathrow where at times had to wait for the bus rest was all fine and stay was a comfortable one....
- Stuart (8/5): Decent stay on the way or leaving Heathrow - Ideal for an overnight stay either arriving or leaving from Heathrow. It's nothing special but it provides a decent room to sleep, a bar for food and drink and staff that are helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was standard English fare, basically good. The price was competitive for the area, but you will need to take the Hoppa bus, which adds around 8-10GBP (leaves from T5 and T4 and is pretty quick - note that the Travelodge was on route H57 and not H59 as listed on the bus stand).
- John (6/5): Clean & reasonably priced! - Pleasant stay after long wait for hopper bus! What a joke bus service.Almost 1 hour wait to hotel.10 pound one wsy per couple! Hotel is not near terminal 5.
Breakfast is very good with ample variety Staff very obliging!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Rooms were made to late around 4pm every day.
Buffet breakfast was ok. Beds not very comfortable . staff touching bread when they should have wearing blue gloves as its a ready to eat food
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Easy check in, great breakfast close to the airport
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean hotel and rooms smelt lovely. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant very reasonably priced and good quality good. Good location. Had everything we needed and exceeded expectations.
- Verified traveler (6/5): No free wifi by the airport - It was okay stay, no free wifi, only 30 minutes free wifi, that's it
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Overpriced for a smelly dirty place in an imdustrial zone, there is nothing nearby. It should even drop "...Terminal 5" from its listing. It took a 25 pounds taxi ride to access this place from Terminal 4.
The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful.
- Ahmed (8/5): Hotel good for the price paid - Hotel only disadvantage is the price paid for shuttling , almost $13 for round trip per person to the Airport underground transportation in order to go to London or back to the airport if you make two trips to London like we did me and my wife one day cost $52 which can be added to the price of other hotel with free shuttle or fixed rate per stay . OK for one or two nights maximum .
- Verified traveler (8/5): Easy access to airport, great breakfast - We are staying there for a night. Car park is 8£ and 5£ for the shuttle to airport
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pleasant Stay Close to Heathrow - I stayed at the hotel during a long layover at heathrow. Recommended for a short no frills stay.
- mary (8/5): nice hotel - The hotel was nice but we did not get what we asked for. We reserved a room with two twin beds and were put in a
room with a queen size bed and a rollaway. The rollaway was extremely uncomfortable.
- Oscar (8/5): Good hotel foe travelers. - Stayed for only one night. Room was clean. Limited facilities, but understandable for hotel that is mainly used for travelers such as me that was only looking for a one night stay to catch a flight the next day. The breakfast was good . The bus to and from thr hotel was timely and convenient.
- Ralph (8/5): Large, clean rooms. Plenty of space for luggage - Very handy to terminal 5 using the H57 Hoppa bus, which runs every 30 minutes. Dinner in restaurant was tasty but could have been a little bigger. Really, as far as London airport hotels go, excellent value for the money.
- Will (10/5): Nice hotel close to the airport. - It was a nice and economic hotel close to the airport (10 mins). However, is actually cheaper and more convenient to stay at one of the airports right at the hotel such as the Sofitel Hotel. The main reason is because you always have to pay transportation ( 5 pounds pp) back and forth from the hotel to the airport just to go to city center. The money you save on the hotel you end up spending it on transportation :(
- Mark (6/5): Inexpensive accommodations close to LHR Terminal 5 - I needed somewhere inexpensive to stay, for 2 nights, close to the airport, for a side-trip I was planning. This hotel fit the bill. Easy to get to and from Terminal 5, which in turn gives you quick access to the Piccadilly line of London Underground.
Check-in was easy. Check-out even easier (there's someone at reception 24/7, but you just drop your keycard in a box at the desk and go). Access to rooms is via a ground-floor elevator that requires your keycard to call an elevator. For the most part it was easy enough, but once or twice I couldn't get my card to bring the elevator down.
Bed was clean and comfortable. Carpet around the feet of the bed looked like it hadn't been vacuumed weeks, maybe months. Rest of the carpeted areas were fine.
Bathroom okay, except for the fact that the lip around the base of the shower and the shower curtain don't prevent a good deal of water from splashing out all over the bathroom floor.
My booking threw in the all-you-can eat breakfast buffet. To their credit they do offer some vegetarian and vegan safe options (hash browns (seemed a bit undercooked), grilled tomatoes, vegan sausages, Heinz beans). Hot drink dispenser will do a variety of coffees. Juice dispenser for apple or orange. Cold cereal also available if I recall.
Staff were friendly during what little contact I had with them.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay, good breakfast - I enjoyed the breakfast. It was more than just a Danish and juice. They had eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, etc
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay, good breakfast - The hotel was nice. The breakfast was eggs, gashbrowns, sausage etc. Nice to have more than a Danish and juice
- Anthony (8/5): - The area is remote no nearby stores or place to eat. There is only a subway restaurant about 10 to 15 minutes walking. The lighting in the room is not good, cannot read, needs a brighter light. Breakfast is good.
- John (8/5): Basic but great breakfast - We're over from Canada - room was sooooooo basic tonwjat we would be used to but breakfast was very impressive
- Abe (8/5): close to airport - Would have liked parking to e free or at least explained by staff
Internet only for 1/2 hour
Good breakfast
- Tropicgran (6/5): Sufficient - This is a bare bones hotel. The only things in the spacious room are a bed, a desk/counter and two hard plastic chairs. Only one double outlet in the entire room. Bathroom is simple but nicely done. There is no tourist information in the lobby which would be very helpful. It is located in an industrial park; no amenities within walking distance. The convenient thing is that the bus stops at the front door, which takes you to Terminal 5 at Heathrow in just ten minutes. From there you can catch any mode of transport to get around London. The food was good. The menu includes late night food service. A bar is located in the lobby. Large parking garage on the premises for a fee I believe. This is a decent hotel if you're watching pennies and not going to be in the room much.
