Guest Reviews
- Melissa (10/5): - Centrally located next to the Mall.
- KingOjoja (10/5): Food lovers. - The Hotel never disappoints, from the check in process to the room, all is well fitting to my desires. I never miss an opportunity to make use of thier facilities. Nelson Mandela Square is a walking distance, with its breathtaking restaurants.
- pirranD (6/5): Good Generic hotel, fine for short stays - I stayed just 2 nights on business, and for that purpose it was fine. Clean, comfortable, plenty of hot water, ok breakfast and close to the mall. Excellent staff, especially Angie. Ideal for a short business stay with one exception - the internet was variable/unreliable.
- Claude Sowah (10/5): - Had an overall lovely experience
- Constantine (10/5): - it was good
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing location and hotel - Great hotel and location. Easy and quick check in. The best breakfast buffet, amazing bar/restaurant and gym. This was the best hotel stay in Johannesburg. The hotel is surrounded by the Nelson Mandela plaza and mall. You have access to many stores and food places. The bar/restaurant at the hotel offered some of the best meals and drinks. Must stay here. This hotel is great for family, couples and business. It was less than 30 minutes away from airport and 5 minute walking for everything else listed.
- angelica (8/5): Location 5đ - The location is superb and very safe
If you can offort Michelangelo o Leonardo that has a nice roof top go for it!
- Kevin (10/5): - Garden City Sandton offers a comfortable and convenient stay in a prime location. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, with a friendly and helpful staff that ensures a smooth experience. Situated in a safe area, itâs perfect for those who enjoy walking to nearby shopping centers and restaurants. The on-site restaurant provides a decent dining option, but the highlight is the great buffet breakfast, which offers a variety of fresh and delicious choices. Overall, a solid choice for both business and leisure travelers looking for a hassle-free stay in Sandton. Highly recommend.
- Ndifanji (6/5): - It is located within 2 minutes to the Nelson Mandale Square making it a perfect lodging for shoppers. The rooms are not spacious if you prefer spacious rooms. Otherwise great staff service
- Peter Paul Adam (10/5): - All okay
- Mei (10/5): - Friendly staff, delicious breakfast
- Carrie (8/5): - Only issue is pool is small and unheated with only four lounge chairs- not conducive to relaxing.
- John (8/5): - Near the Mall with almos all services required under one roof. Near the train too.
- Jenny (8/5): - I had a nice time staying there and the staff were really nice
- Voyager29329365037 (10/5): Best experience - Garden Court Sandton City is the best hotel to book in, it is perfectly situated right across from Nelson Mandela Square and their breakfast is first class. Their rooms are clean and they have a Riffs bar on site which serves great food not forgetting their friendly staff. THANKS Garden court team.
- PRISCA (8/5): - Not applicable
- Melaniedbn (2/5): Please do Better!!!!! - What a disgusting experience at Garden Court Sandton city. As a frequent guest I am left utterly disappointed. Alfred and Silindile at Check in should be fired or not be the first people that guest interact with when they arrive. They are unattentive And just display a stinking donât care attitude. We arrive at 2:30 having booked 2 rooms, our first engagement was with Alfred who told us the rooms arenât ready, as exhausted as we were after driving nearly 7 hours with children, we were okay with it, but guess what, Alfred never got back to us after nearly 45 minutes we go back to the desk and engage with Silindile, she then says that she can only give us one room and no matter how many times we asked her , how long the wait will be, she couldnât give us an answer! What the hell? She then proceeded to calculate my bill for the rooms and gave me an amount to pay, still I asked how long the wait will be, no answer to that question but she says âplease insert your cardâ what and idiotic attitude! We then enquired about parking, she goes on to say that we will need to pay R50 parking per day and for our 4 night stay, we need to pay R200 for parking đđBy then I was probably shouting! We have stayed here several times and have never paid any additional costs for parking! She then had the nerve to say that I shouldâve read the notice outside before coming in. I just point blank refused! My husband who drove us was just too tired to say then she replied saying anything and let me just go max. â please use your key card to access the parkingâ please can you investigate if this extra charge was for her own pocket!
We get the one access card. The family room had only 1 towel. When I call reception, they say that the room comes with 1 towel. I threw a fit again until housekeeping brought in more towels. When you ask for anything you have to call a few times and scream and shout! I understand that itâs peak period but how can you not plan??? How can you have only 20 irons for over a hundred rooms which are full to capacity! Absolutely bad.
- Dorcas (10/5): - Nothing to fault, good stay for my visit. Breakfast options were quite varied.
- Annabel_Prinsloo69 (10/5): Well done - We would just like to thank the reception and Oral the manager for sorting out a glitch we had. The problem was sorted out professionally. We are here for 3 weeks and are sure it will be bliss like it usually is.
Well done to everyone and thank you for a lovely stay.
- ayaz (6/5): - Put mini fridge and microwave in the room.
- Lawrence (8/5): - The people were friendly and helpful
- Jacqui (8/5): - Location is great. Good service. Staff always do their best
- ABIGAIL (10/5): - Excellent customer service, clean and comfortable room. Will definitely stay here again and I recommend this beautiful hotel.
- Juice260 (10/5): beautiful place - my stay at the Garden Court Hotel Sandton was excellent. The combination of great service, comfortable accommodations, and a prime location makes it a top choice for anyone visiting the area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free stay in Sandton.
- MELVA (10/5): - Ii enjoyed my stay
- busiet_12 (2/5): Bad experience - No microwave - In my life as a traveller, I have never heard of a hotel with no microwave, aside from the fact that it hasn't been working for 3 days, the hospitality manager mentioned they do not reheat food for guests even when I mentioned I bought the food on their premises but just cold. HOW?????
- KingOjoja (10/5): Good place - The hotel is in a serene location! Very peaceful and quiet.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, a big shoutout to Daniel who helped us with our luggage and continued to shower us with smiles every time we saw him in the lobby and vicinity, and John for being extremely helpful every time.
The rooms are quite old, on the smaller side and those carpets need to go! Nevertheless, the rooms were clean.
The buffet section is also a bit small and as a result has limited food, but the provided food was excellent and itâs great that they make eggs on the go, 10 points for that!!!
I would book again to reset and rest after a long holiday.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Some up and some down - Reasonable stay. Very visible decline in overall care and anticipation of customer needs. Restaurant was very poor in terms of service - we went out as we stood and stood and stood - with no attention until we awakes in ourselves. Breakfast service was brilliant though!
- aisha (8/5): - Nice place to stay for couple of days. Breakfast I highly recommend.
- Onesimus (10/5): - Customer care
- Imraan (10/5): - Location of hotel is very good, got an early check in which was great, plenty of parking underground and room nice size. However the aircon was not working when i checked in and although it was repaired after i complained, it did not blow cold air rather a mixture of cold and warm. The tub chair in the room had one leg bent so if you get up from it, it falls over and the coffee table which is attached to the dressing table wa tilting and thus not level.
- Kagiso (10/5): - Loved it so much
- FABIANE RITTER (6/5): - The bathroom towel was dirty, overall the hotel is good value for money.
- Alisha (8/5): - Great location go Sandton City. The staff was very helpful when I was struggling with my key keeping on getting erased.
- Anne (10/5): Great location - Ideal location next to Nelson Mandela square & fabulous shopping centre! Safe & quiet. Small rooms but clean & excellent breakfast!!
- F4560QDgabriela (6/5): The good and bad of garden court sandton - The hotel is average apart from it being situated in a prime location with easy access to the nelson mandela square which has lots of shopping outlets and a good environment, the rooms are pretty normal. Services werenât consistent in donât know if it was something in SA or not but bottled water which is mostly complimentary were not provided even after request and rather asked to drink from the tap which i find strange. The duvet was not comfy as well, it was light considering the weather at the time and heavier one would have been preferred. Anyways the hotel presented options of tea bags and biscuits which i enjoyed, i also enjoyed the breakfast mostly as there were varieties to choose from. All in all it was an average experience but the view overlooking the city was nice. And oh they made us wait at the airport for so long even when we had communicated earlier and made payments before our arrival with an excuse that the driver assigned to us was unavailable that was a no no for me and pretty bad on their side.
- james (10/5): Very happy - Great staff with a lovely food in the restaurant and rooms service.
Great value for money in this hotels STAR range
- Bornwell (8/5): - Safe and accessible
- CharlieK2007 (10/5): Really lovely hotel with friendly staff and excellent breakfast - I stayed here at the start of a trip and at the end of trip. I am so glad I did. The staff are really friendly and approachable. Both my rooms were great and had a nice shower. The hotel is across the road from Mandela Square and access to Sandton City Shopping Mall. The door staff can help with any transport options.
One thing I loved and that I have never seen at any hotel is that when you are travelling solo they put a table reserved sign on your table so don't have the hassle of someone taking your table while getting food. The breakfast is the best of any other hotels I stayed at.
- Anne (10/5): Great location - Very nice mid range hotel with great location & nice staff
- johnmM5296ZX (8/5): Good position - We stayed 3 nights at Garden Court. Mainly because of its location. It is right next to Nelson Mandela Square and 500mt to the shopping centre.
The hotel is very busy with tour groups coming and going so morning breakfast can be noise and busy. If you have the time, have a sleep in and go down later and it was all good.
We ate at the onsite restaurant, Riffs, on our first night. My wife became ill that night and we suspect it was the fish and chips.
Other than the food episode it was a good stay
- Sue (10/5): A bit noisy - Great stay. The room was a bit small and the traffic at night kept us awake
- Annabel_Prinsloo69 (10/5): 2nd Home - My Hubby and I often stay here, and each time we leave, we feel so grateful for the love and friendliness shown towards us.
Special thanks to the reception and the Managers.
Not to forget Michael from dining, who is the sweetest man I've met.
Thank you, Garden court for the many memories
- Jennifer (8/5): - We only had an overnight stay but the hotel was very conveniently located & I could not complain about anything.
- Stephen (8/5): Great location, comfortable hotel - This hotel is in a great location - within very short walking distance of two shopping malls with plenty of shops and restaurants.
The breakfast at the restaurant is a full buffet and will fill you up for a full day of whatever you have planned.
The only drawback was the large school group that stayed at the hotel during the final night of our stay and made a lot of noise and disturbed our sleep during the night.
- Gwendelyn (10/5): - Clean, safe and good location
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful stay - Amanda checked us in very well and followed up to see if we were comfortable. Oral helped us late time to get a refund and he is ever so courteous. Rooms were very clean. We loved the flexibility of late check out.
- Wellington (10/5): - Very convenient and friendly staff. Breakfast is top notch.
- Evelyne (6/5): - Location is superb
- Love2Travel2getha (10/5): Great Hotel - Great hotel friendly staff
Great Breakfast
Near Gautrain Station
Near Nelson Mandela Square
Near Sandton City Mall......................................................................................................
- Wilson (10/5): Happy client - My stay was relaxing .keep up the good hospitality
- Getaway62159027736 (10/5): Garden Court Sandton - Well designed hotel with all amenities Close proximity to the ICC and Mandela Square Staff are exceptional and the breakfast is divine Rooms are always neat and tidy Pool is always neat and tidy The supper served is delicious and room service is great
- Megan (4/5): - While the staff was friendly and kind the facility had problems. The toilet constantly ran. We had a corner shower that was so small you had to shower with the door open to actually wash yourself. During 1 night there was people in the courtyard yelling and laughing till after 1am. When we arrived there was blood on the duvet cover. Multiple times we were our genset (which isn't the problem) the problem is that their parking garage has minimal ventilation which makes it a hazard to be in because the fumes from the genset are so thick in the air. I would not stay at this hotel again. While the location is convenient there are plenty of other options.
- Nikitha (4/5): - Property is in a great location but hotel is old and not really well maintained. Breakfast was great
- KingOjoja (10/5): Food lovers. - Experience of a life time. To say I enjoyed myself in this establishment is an understatement.
The breakfast room staff are the best . Had chicken curry which had wanting more.
The reception staff have the best smile. All I can say is that I am coming back again.
- Getaway30413943863 (8/5): Thank Garden court Sandton - The service and attention to detail by staff was amazing. Food was great at breakfast and staff was exceptional even with the crowds. The variety and consideration given to halaal. I would definitely recomend tgis hotel. Curtains in room could use with a velcro to help keep out the light only compliant i may have.
- Lee (10/5): - The hotel was lovely. It was in a better part of Johannesburg, right next to a shopping mall so it was relatively safe compared to the rest of the city. Staff were helpful
- Moutie (10/5): Great Stay - We went to a show in Sandton & decided to stay the weekend. The hotel was central for us. across the road to Sandton City Mall. Easy walking & lots of places to eat at. Easy parking also undercover. Great shopping around. The only issue we had was beggars on stairs going into Sandton City. Also at night the lighting is not good walking back from Mall to hotel.
- Sylvia (10/5): - Nicest staff, friendly & helpful. None better
- Olumide (10/5): - Great place to stay considering the fact that the city is not always safe
- Natalie (10/5): - The location is great.
Our room was for 2 people but they only supplied one sower cap, body wash etc
- Neima (8/5): - Ok
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very good location, just across from Madela Square with lots of restaurants there to chose from.
Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Breakfast was good.
Overall, good value for money.
- Beverly (10/5): - Everyone was very helpful and nice. Yes I will stay again
- Steven (10/5): - Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. Room was very very clean. Excellent Big breakfast
- Pauline (10/5): - Good quality and value for money
- Stanley (6/5): - The property is located next to a night club that blazed music all night which made sleeping difficult. It could also do with some tightening of security. One solution would be to link access to the lift and the rooms to the room keys. We had a person frantically knocking on our room well past midnight pretending to deliver a pizza which we never ordered. Otherwise the overall location in the heart of Sandton is a win and a few improvements mentioned above will improve the score.
- EDWIN (10/5): - Friendly staff and clean rooms
- Pamela (10/5): - Lovely property right across from Nelson Mandella Square with lots of patio seating restaurants and a great shopping mall also with lots of restaurants, a food court, a grocery store, and a movie theater. The lobby could use a furniture upgrade, but the staff is professional, friendly, and accommodating. The pool and accompanying garden setting is both peaceful and comfortable. The hotel restaurant has great food, great service, and a lovely streetside patio. And the beds are comfortable. Wi-fi is okay. Not a lot to choose from on the telly. If you like to shower with a wash cloth, bring your own. No mini-fridge. New carpet and lobby makeover would make this an all are five star review.
- Susan (8/5): - Very gracious staff, food in grill is good. Pool is adquate, decent gym for workout
- Paula (8/5): - Not the fanciest hotel, but for the price it was great. So close to Nelson Mandela Square, the bed was super comfortable and the bar/restaurant had excellent food. I also enjoyed the garden area.
- ROBENSON (2/5): - I left my laptop there, reported the loss but never found ut
- Tawuya (10/5): - The facilities at the hotel are in immaculate condition. Excellent breakfast & thereâs wide choice of foods & drinks. Comfortable mattress. Close to the mall. Gautrain is about a 5 minutes walk. Cheerful staff & always ready to serve. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended hotel.
- doreen (10/5): - Very nice place will be back
- Mayelin (10/5): -
Nice place
- Donnett (6/5): - It's ok..the food is good though
- Irene Atieno (8/5): - Liked everything about the premise and services.
- Sorrel (8/5): - Rooms clean and reasonable size Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Only downside was room keys continuously had to be reprogrammed. Hotel delt with load shedding well.
- Jude (10/5): - Visitors should be directed where to park , before clamping and asking them to pay for parking in the wrong place after visiting
- Ebenezer Boateng Abakomah (8/5): Amazing - Cool
- Verified traveler (10/5): Short stop over in jburg - Hotel has great location, all staff very courteous. Excellent breakfast, well equipped gym, comfortable rooms.
- EDWIN (8/5): - Good breakfast
- Temba (6/5): - Liked - Convenience
Didn't like... Absence of a basic refridgerator
- Rodney (10/5): - This was my third time staying at this hotel, and I recommend it highly. The staff are always friendly and attentive to your needs. The rooms are comfortable and clean. With close proximity to Mandela Square Mall it should be a must stay on your visit to Sandton City.
- Boris (10/5): - Perfect location, next to Sandton City Mall and Nelson Mandela Square. Would recommend.
- Jason (8/5): - Easy access from the airport via the Guatrian. And conveniently close to Sandton city
- pius (10/5): - Clean room and comfortable bed
- Rommel (10/5): - Accessible to malls and meeting areas
- Dudu (10/5): - It was very neat breakfast was nice I enjoyed a lot it was very painful to leave but anyway will come back without hesitation thank you so much for everything
- Tawanda (8/5): - Well located
- Henry (8/5): - I liked the serene and safe environment, also their services but i didn't like the fact that no water was provided in the room and there was no fridge too. Every 5 star hotel I've lodged in the globe provides me with water. Thank you
- Shantea (10/5): - The hotel shuttle picked me up at the airport. They were waiting on me with a sign. I also enjoyed the location! I easily walked to the shopping mall. The staff was so friendly!!
- Simon (8/5): - Safe location in city with poor reputation.
- Simon (8/5): - Suited our purposes
- Khumoetsile (8/5): - I was v disappointed that the hotel did not provide any drinking water
- Zuhair (6/5): - Location is ideal. The rooms are fairly dated. Mattress was like a trampoline. Shower was claustrophobic.
Breakfast was good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Another great stay - Stayed here many times, always great, would recommend.
- Hafswa (10/5): - Exceptional services! Love your breakfast buffet, would be great if you had more Halaal options.
- Claude Otieno (10/5): - Had an awesome stay.
- John (4/5): Room too hot! - My room was very hot. I notified the desk and one cleaning supervisor, to no avail. I have stayed here numerous time and was satisfied. Ill try somewhere else next time.
