Guest Reviews

- Alan (5/5): Though my review is borderline, would certainly stay again. - The owners were very nice, as they allowed the check-in time & date to change, as delays from the airline made my stay shorter than one would have liked.
There is no breakfast available, but there are places within walking distance where you can get breakfast.
However, the view was the best part of the location. One could not lock the deadbolt with the room key from the outside.
A few handwritten & weathered signs that made certain information nearly indecipherable.
The faucets in the showers were not marked, took a few tries to figure out which was hot & the other cold.

- Jaime (9/5): nice for a short stay - Nice property, spacious and with a kitchenette which was very convenient. Room was clean and stocked with what we needed. good for a short stay.
- Al (9/5): Nice place. Good value for money. Can be noisy if there’s a lot of traffic as it’s near the road - I stayed here before. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices and clean. Unfortunately this time round it was noisy with traffic unlike last time which was quieter
- Maihaa (9/5): Staff, location, peaceful and quiet, safe with my car and belongings inside, clean and well maintained. - Staff, location, peaceful and quiet, safe with my car and belongings inside, clean and well maintained.

- Christina (10/5): - Great stop for an overnight. Staff friendly, room clean.
Deer came on property very serene.
Would definitely stop again if in the area.

- Al (9/5): Nice room, quiet (except for the AC), great location, clean, friendly staff - Great location, friendly receptionist, and quiet for the most part. Standard motel. Clean room and given the price of things these days it was a decent price point. The AC is noisy so if you are sensitive to noise that may be a problem. I was ok with it but it is fairly loud. The smell is a little stale in the room but that’s not a problem for me it may be if you are sensitive to smells though
- Brian (10/5): - Owner JP was great. Room was very clean and comfy.
- Robert (10/5): - They made check in easy when I showed up at 1 am
- Mercedes (10/5): Would definitely stay again! Motel was clean and staff was very kind! - Clean & not creepy, little motel! The front desk guy was super nice and accommodating! Shower temp went luke warm after maybe 10 minutes?
- Suzy (8/5): - There was 3 beds. Full kitchen. Ckeck out was at 10am, that was early. Easy to find as it was one the main road.
- Stephen (8/5): - The arbour in front provided good shade in the afternoon. Good value but needs to sell microwaveable dinners in store - its a long way to the nearest grocery store and most restaurants are closed by 6 pm. Easy fix!
- Jennifer (7/5): The property met our expectations. - Room was clean, well appointed, but the furnishings are dated. Staff were welcoming. Bed linens were clean, but in need of replacement; the top sheet was threadbare.
- Karel (8/5): Perfect for a Greenwood visit - This was a great place to stop for the night. The price was fair for what we received. The town of Greenwood is a great place to visit. We did the ghost walking tour and learned a lot. The local folks were great! Definitely will be going back.
- Bryan (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Clean, comfortable.
- Cameron (6/5): - Older motel. nothing but the basics. And not particularly clean, but doable if all you’re looking for is a place to rest your head while you’re traveling.
- Bruce (8/5): -
- Lee (8/5): - Property was clean easy access in and out. And fairly quiet
- Daniel (10/5): - It’s a standard roadside motel. Somethings have been refreshed recently, one or two others still need doing. That said it’s very good, staff helpful and courteous, lovely and clean, linen fresh, comfy beds. Slightly better cable package with a few more movies available. I particularly liked the alarm clock, had 3 easy to reach USB charging ports and 2 120v AC outlets, the lamp had one too. It’s now pretty common in the UK to find AC outlets with built in USB ports, this is the first I’ve seen in a Canadian hotel/motel. There was also a small convenience store in the motel office.
- Edward (10/5): Great choice! - The greeting upon arrival from the gentleman in the office, excellent display of hospitality. Have stayed in many motels, even with a higher cost, the bigger chains as well and they don't come close to the cleanliness of the Evening Star. Excellent selection of television channels as well. Nothing that I disliked, loved everything!
- Rick (10/5): - Easy to find, super quiet. Really friendly staff made check-in a breeze. Room was clean and renovated. I love that after a long day I can simply step out of my car and right into the room. I would definitely stay there again.
- Ronald (4/5): - QUIET, BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. STAFF LACKED TACT.
- jef (8/5): - Everything was as expected.
- Cathie (10/5): - A verybnice property. Great rooms and staff
- Keith (10/5): - Exactly as expected
- dowsabel61 (4/5): Sadly lacking - Like stepping back in time. No working outlet in the bathroom. Shower handle came off when tried to use it. Deadbolt didn’t work. Bed was way too soft. No hairdryer Stove is antique. Sign for the motel is so faded you can’t read it. And this is apparently the. EDT one to stay at. Disappointing indeed. On the upside, room was clean.
- Jaspreet (6/5): - Bed sheets had hair from previous guests, I don’t know if they were replaced after. Owner was super nice and welcoming, I feel like the cleaner needs to be talked to about the situation.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Nice motel.
- Nik (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Daniel (10/5): - Stayed here while hunting and had what we meeded and comfortable
- Adela (8/5): - Really good for one night stay driving through
- Rabennie (7/5): Good - The owner was great and accommodating No place to hang clothes and the appliances were a bit out dated
- Brian (8/5): - Quiet and clean
- Cornel (10/5): - Good value for the money, picnic table and BBQs are a nice bonus
- Anthony (5/5): Passable - Full size fridge, good shower, good a/c, comfortable bed. Host allowed us in the room 30 minutes early. Sheets were clean, but everything else was grubby and the whole place needs a deep clean and some repairs. Gas stove was old and had through-metal corrosion on the cook top, which raised issues of safety.
- Diane (8/5): - .
- Jill (8/5): Very good - The manager showed me the room which I super appreciated. The bed was comfy and the place had a neutral smell. The tv was big and had a lot of stations. Bigger than average hotel fridge and a coffee maker for the morning. It was great, nothing to complain about.
- paul (10/5): - Needs serious updating
Smelled weird
Kitchen pots were none existent except for one that had the teflon scraped all over
Not a great experience at all will not recommend
- Al (8/5): - Very good clean place
- Susan (9/5): Superb - Have stayed there many times and will again. Clean, quiet and convenient.
- Michael (10/5): - We were late getting in. Called in and they waited for us to arrive for check in. Very friendly and room was great! Clean and comfortable
- Barry (9/5): Superb - Great value for the money. Owners warm and friendly. Very dated but very clean.
- Rossano (10/5): - Lile that the boxspring was covered in plastic and the mattress was enveloped in a zippered mattress protector with a matress pad on top.
- Lisa (10/5): - We needed a motel for 1 night and Evening Star didn't disappoint. Check in was a breeze, the room was clean and fully stocked with all the necessities, the beds were comfy and the A/C worked perfectly. The area was quiet. I would recommend this motel and I will stay again when I'm back in the Greenwood area
- Ashley (10/5): Had a great stay! Will definitely be back - Clean and super comfy beds
- Koehn (8/5): Good value. Would stay there again. - Good air conditioning, clean, comfortable beds, quiet for sleeping. Staff friendly.
- Kona (10/5): - Host is very friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms, great location.
- Irene (8/5): Very good - The full size fridge. the filter on the air conditioner should have been cleaned. It was blocked with lint. Once we cleaned the lint off the filter, the unit worked very well.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We arrived exhausted at 8pm and the host was extremely rude to us (cutting us off mid-sentence, shushing us because he needed silence while typing... all things that could have been managed kindly on his end). He accused us of not booking for enough people even though we booked the largest room with 3 beds. He lectured us on how wrong that was and I just said I completely thought I had booked the right amount. It wasn't until I got myself and the kids settled into our room that I could check my email and sure enough I DID in fact book for the right number of people, but he was gone when I went back to show him. Awful service, I won't be back.
- Carel (8/5): - Quite adequate. Nice and clean. Good aircon. A few minor deficiencies pointed out to the caretaker.
- Ken (8/5): - Clean, although there was air conditioning- still hot baby ! Just the way it is. 😊
- Brandy (10/5): - We stay here every couple years. Never disappoints! Great staff:)
- Wouterloot (10/5): Exceptional - The staff helped me by finding a lost item in my room and helping me get it Back which was greatly appreciated
- Leighton (5/5): Passable -
- Barbara (10/5): The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. - I like the motel style and can park my motorcycle in front of my room.
- Roger (8/5): - Old but clean with everything we needed
- Brian (8/5): - A nice clean quiet motel
- Virginia (10/5): Greenwood is definitely an up and coming city to visit. I will be back - I really liked that there was a covered walkway out the front door to the office and other guest’s rooms, since it was raining off and on while we were there. It would’ve been nice to have a larger tv. But at least we had plenty of channels to select from.
- Elaine (8/5): Very good -
- Pamela (5/5): Short stay - The motel was in a good location. The room was very clean as was the kitchenette and bathroom.
Staff were accommodating. We could not get past what we assumed was the stale smell of previous smoking years. If you aren't sensitive to it, it would have been okay. We couldn't stay.
- Robson (9/5): Superb -
- Gina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Talitha (10/5): - It was great. Simple & straightforward, comfortable stay
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (7/5): Good -
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Very clean , very comfortable bed ,excellent television. Very friendly staff . Not much I didn't like , location is a little far from restaurants and stores etc
- Elaine (4/5): Not impressed - Hotel is in serious need of a up grade. The bathroom door needs oiling. The lights all need the bugs removed. The bathroom floor was like ice!
We were refused a second key. There were 2 of us and each with a different plan we were forced to change plans not knowing when the other would return to room.
The dead bolt didn't work and door handle was not right.
- Don (10/5): - It's a great place to stop for the night.
- Grant (8/5): The motel was what I was looking for: economical, clean and comfortable. - This is a basic bargain motel. It's not fancy and some of the furnishings are old, but it was clean and comfortable and the people who run it are friendly. I would stay there again. nothing
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Alice (7/5): Good location comfortable and clean - Clean fridge had freezer and air conditioned Friendlier greeting
- Brenda (6/5): Pleasant -
- Brittany (5/5): Probably wouldnt stay again unless we had to - We appreciated the low rates and mini kitchenette. The online reservation said the office was open 24hrs and accepted my booking without prepayment. When we arrived the manager wasn't very friendly as it was "after hours" and he said I was lucky there was a room available because my online reservation wasn't prepaid for so he gave it away.
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Bob (6/5): Staff was a little weird about bicycles in the room & lectured me about how I would be liable for any damages. - Location & air conditioning A bit of a walk into town, but not bad
- Gina (8/5): Very good -
- Bernard (7/5): Good - It is a new owner and he is working hard to improve the place
- Ralph (7/5): Good - Not too much in Greenwood.Resturant were lacking. The motel was overpriced for what it was.
- Anonymous (8/5): They are updating as they can. it’s a great place to overnight or stay if you’re visiting friends in town. - Room was clean & comfy, A/C worked well thankfully. Only minus would be the 10am check out time.
- Veronica (8/5): Very good -
- Margret (8/5): Good value - Accommodations price location
- Mary (9/5): Was great for one night and what we needed. They are doing repairs on place, which is great. - Taco at DeadWood the best
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Room and decor was good. Beds were comfortable. Nice size fridge with a small freezer compartment. Overall a pleasant stay. Owner was very gracious and went the extra mile, literally, to get ice for us. The rooms have recently been renovated and they are working on refurbishing the outside. New siding going on plus there are pretty flowers on the property which spruces up.the appearance. Handy to town - had great fish and chips for supper at Mama's Pacific Grill. Nothing. We were very.satisfied with everything.
- Marian (6/5): Not too bad. - Simple clean motel with working AC. This level of accommodation should be cheaper.
- Valerie (6/5): - Beds were comfortable.. Clean but dated, however in the midst of making some good upgrades
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Being renovated and upgraded
- Tony (7/5): the motel did not enter into our thoughts, which is to say, a good thing. - simple and clean
- Rob (8/5): Very good - The owner went out of her way to help us find someone to help us with our car. Also, after arriving late, she reached out to help us find a place where we could still grab a bite.
- Hamish (10/5): - Good value. Comfortable.
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Corinna (10/5): A comfortable motel - Evening Star Motel is an older motel, but still very clean, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and kind. I will definitely return!
- Amy (10/5): awesome stay! - Clean facility. Toiletries were provided like in a hotel. Clean and comfy bed.
