sally (10/5): This is a Gem of a place. I would definitely return to this hotel. - An amazing location. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay and we certainly did. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this property.
Miche (8/5): - We do love it here. They park your car, they take your dog, the position is unbeatable. The residents longer is relaxing and the lady head chef amazing. She said yes to our request to change the potato side to an alternative ..so flexible which is great news. Evety staff member including housekeepers we spoke to lovely. They are busy so therefore quite expensive. Cheaper to book on Booking.com than direct. They do ' need you out promptly' as other guests coming in . No service proactively in residents lounge which is sad. Im sure they would sell more by walking around it.

Claire (10/5): Perfect location, facilities and staff care - a beautiful all round experience, whatever the weather - Stunning location matched by quality of the hotel experience, including dining, the spa, bedrooms / apartment, lounge and staff care, which was spot on and not overbearing. Not a 'didn't like' but the price, which is fair, means a stay will be an occasional treat.
Karen (8/5): Beautiful view and very steep hills - The walks and the scenery are absolutely amazing, listening to the waves from your window is something else, The guys who give you a lift to the top of the steep hill and collect you and bring you back down the hill are amazing and very helpful and knowledgeable. The Breakfast was amazing and quite good choice of food. For me The welcome wasn’t the greatest, and the cleaners like to hoover very early in the morning they also have meetings right outside your bedroom door which were very loud.

Chris (10/5): A perfect few days in a gorgeous hotel right on the south west coast path. - Absolutely gorgeous stay in a superb setting. The catch of the day was stunning. We stayed 2 nights so that we could spend a whole day out of the southwest coast path. We walked south to Torquey, calling in at all of the little headlands along the way. We got the bus back to Babbacombe shops and walked down the steep cliff path to the hotel. It was the perfect way to spend a day. You can't park outside the hotel, and so the hotel parks your car for you up the steep hill to save you from walking up and down with all of your luggage, which is a very nice and thoughtful touch. The man who shuttled us up to our car, prior to our walk to collect our walking things from our car, was very helpful giving us local tips to get on the right path and even checking the weather forecast for us. All in all, an excellent stay. Thank you very much, Cary Arms Hotel. nothing

Sam (5/5): Staff were lovely on arrival, but very disappointing the following morning. - We got a lovely welcome on arrival, and the beach hut was very nice. When we arrived, we mentioned we wanted to use the spa, and they said we could book it the following morning when we go down for breakfast. It turns out we were unable to use it due to it being fully booked, and the only time they had available was 8am - bearing in mind it was 8.40 we turned up for breakfast! If we had known this when we arrived, we could have, or should have been told to book there and then! The staff at breakfast looked stressed! The Scottish lady was very abrupt and did not have a good energy. In fact, it was almost like she has her favourites there. My husband found a long dark hair in his food, which was gross. The breakfast as nothing special, and the GF bread was horrific.

Anupa (9/5): Simply delightful - Delicious breakfast which we had in the conservatory with beautiful view of the cliffs, beach. Fish and chips on the dinner menu is just beautiful. Location of the property is on the hill side so there are beautiful views. We stayed in the pebble cottage which has a very cute terrace of its own. The staff, especially Brad, were extremely welcoming and helpful which made our stay truly enjoyable. The only thing that can be possibly improved is that the living room furniture in the cottage is a little dated- which is a very minor issue. Also, if you are not used to driving on steep roads, the approach to the place can be quite tricky but once there, the hotel takes care of parking your vehicle and giving you lift to and from the parking so that too is not an issue.

Pheck Choo (9/5): Exemplary service. Enchanting beauty and serenity, vast expanse of blue ocean, simply awe-inspiring! - Staff were all very friendly and cheerful and that made our stay fantastic. The bathtub is very pretty, but not practical if you just want a shower, without wetting the whole floor. Good to have both shower and bathtub. The old antique skeleton key is very unique, but not easy to insert it right and lock the door. Also, it would be nice to have a power socket for the hairdryer in the bathroom, the only one I could find was at the bedside table, which is not very practical.

Welcome package went above and beyond with milk, bread, cereal and even sweet and savoury snacks. Also love that it was dog friendly There is no downstairs toilet which was difficult for my elderly father. Also it wasn’t clear in the advertisement that there were a lot of very steep steps outside. Not ideal for the old or those with mobility issues

We had a quaint room with a lovely sea view! Valet parking is a great option because they take care of the hassle for you. Despite everything, it was still on the expensive side for the room- it was a tad small and think you’re paying for the views more than anything. Also a bit of a shame they don’t offer room service. Parking can be hectic but they’re doing their absolute best.

How can you miss an integral part of the dish and not say anything. No shower in room and no hot water in the morning.

Alex (10/5): Worth every penny! - Absolutely everything! From the minute you arrive the staff cannot be more helpful. With the nature of the site, the rooms are all different, no Travleodge style rooms here! The restaurant is excellent, highlighted by the fact that it was pretty much full with non-residents, not that it was a problem for us to book a table. We don't typically return to the same venue twice, The Cary Arms might make us break that rule! Nothing, this place is amazing
Nicholas (8/5): An amazing coastal hotel, we will return. - This is a lovely hotel. The staff cannot look after you better they are so friendly and a pleasure to talk to. The staff were also very helpful ahead of our trip. The room was nice well laid out and of a high standard. Comfortable bed and pillows. Lots of puzzles, board games and books. Very good little kitchen area with a stove and oven. Easy to prepare a basic meal there if needed. Lovey pictures in the rooms and around the hotel. Amazing views across the bay. We saw the local seals one evening. Good selection of areas to sit some only available to hotel guests which was good. Great walks along the coast. This is very much a bespoke hotel and lovely if you want have a coastal hotel of a high standard that is not part of a chain. There were a few areas that the hotel could improve to bring it more inline with its star rating. Minor changes though. The food was a little hit and miss. Some dishing were lovely, others could be better. Tables were not cleared all weekend and most tables had empty plates and glasses. It was busy but this was a shame. The steam room and shower area in the spa needs the floor cleaning as quite dirty. A few buckets with pool water would do it but the floor is green and needs a scrub. Otherwise an amazing spa with great views. Very good massages and treatments. The turn down service could improve. The bed looked like it had been slept in when turned down and the blinds had not been drawn. Just needs a bit of training here.

Steve (9/5): Very,very enjoyable stay at Cary Arms & Spa - Beautiful and stunning views. The breakfast choice is great and the evening meal we had was absolutely delicious. Lovely staff who will help, assist and give you any advice with the local area. The bar in the evening forms part of the dining area, so you have to go into the lounge area if you want a drink after dinner. ,,
