Guest Reviews
- John (6/5): - Very basic room
- Joan (8/5): - It was a quaint, clean room, with a nice walk in shower, the water temp never got hot but it was warm enough for a nice shower, Comfortable bed, we had an issue with musty smell but they came and took care of it. We were disappointed the pub was closed as that was one of the reasons we stayed here but the welcome binder in the room was helpful.
- Devon (6/5): - It was very loud at night and the breakfast had limited and poor choice. Friendly staff and beautiful location.
- Christopher (10/5): - Wonderful people,very helpful!
- Kevin (10/5): - The lodge is tucked away in a crested area that is absolutely stunning! Our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Foggy Mountain Lodge - A quaint, quiet and peaceful little lodge. The restaurant is awesome and was actually very busy the night i was there, with people that weren't even staying at the lodge im sure. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable even for bourbon i purchased. I highly recommend the chicken courdon blue w/o the bun type meal that i ordered. The cabin i stayed in was nice, small and basic but if you dont plan on just sitting around, its perfect. The air conditioner must have been brand new because it cranked out some cold air. Parking was plenty enough and breakfast was also enough to get you going. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at foggy mountain lodge.
- Catharine (10/5): - The room was clean, simple, but everything we needed. I enjoy making my breakfast from the options. Nice assortment, good options! I think I’m okay with checking in and out without person.
- ANITA (8/5): - The room was very small and not fancy, but clean. The setting is beautiful!
- Robert L (8/5): 1st day out! - Great!
- diane (10/5): - Beautiful property. Lovely suite.
- Janet (6/5): - Beautiful location, beds were way too soft and creaky, restaurant dinners were all three over cooked.
- Sharon (8/5): - Was convenient and worked well for a one night stay. Found the TV operation to be a bit slow. Overall was good and as presented on the website.
- Linda (10/5): - It was a very nice location. I liked the no contact and the door entry lock. The grab and go breakfast was very good. A lovely location
- jason (4/5): - Dirty breakfast area. Ice machine and coffee machine are very dirty.
- Brenda (10/5): - Loved the lodge and the restaurant. Part of the reason location was chosen. Food was great. It would be nice to have a bit more of a sitting chair in the room if there were space.
- Calvin (6/5): - It was confusing in that I expected to stay at the Lodge... instead I discovered the location was next to the restaurant. Also the serve your own breakfast was somewhat disappointing... but the coffee was great!
When I arrived I went to the Lodge and found no one there. Later returning to the Lodge I found someone at the restaurant and they told me where I was supposed to stay. Also in the morning I returned to the restaurant and no one was there... I discovered from other visitors the location of self serve breakfast.
- Mary Jo (10/5): Okay but not the Best - The room was very clean which is the most important in my opinion. There were bugs tho. The air conditioner was extremely loud. My husband did not sleep well & had I booked this for our Anniversary.
- Kerri (4/5): Good potential but poor execution - There’s so much potential here but the room was lackluster and missing standard items like a mini fridge or a microwave. The ‘continental to go breakfast’ was not maintained with sour milk and half filled items. The dining experience was atrocious with our party waiting over 1.5 hours for quick items and receiving lukewarm/soggy dinner food.
- Carly (8/5): - Beautiful, quiet and clean. 4 star instead of 5 because the rooms don't have a fridge. The lodge was only open for food 1 day of our trip so we had to leave to eat anything. Also, the TV remotes turn off and on all t.v.s at once making watching t.v. in multiple rooms impossible. Other than that, great place!
- Robert (6/5): Don’t count on the internet! - This place was a great property as far as beauty and cleanliness. Unfortunately, their customer service sucks. I got in on Friday and tried using the wi-fi only to have it keep buffering and eventually go out. There is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE onsite, just the waitstaff in the restaurant. I had the displeasure of dealing with 3 wait people who couldn’t be counted on to do anything but make excuses or tell me I wasn’t listening to them. They were less than courteous and the first one I spoke to made me feel like I was imposing on their day. I never did get the issue resolved.
- Carolyn (10/5): - Nice clean room.
- Victor (10/5): - It was just fine for the overnight lodging we needed.
- Dawn (10/5): - Foggy Mountain Lodge Is such a lovely find. Quiet, peaceful, clean, and the grounds are beautiful. The restaurant and staff there were wonderful, too.
Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of staying. I will be back.
- Chris (6/5): - I had a very unique stay. My stay was in early June. Did not know when booking that this place was sort of seasonal and I had the entire lodge to myself.
At 10 pm I heard two men talking in the common area. Thinking it was maybe grounds keeper making rounds I stepped out to say hi. Nobody was there. I wake to the smell of Maple Sausage being cooked. Check the time and it’s 2:20 am. Wake at 5:50 in the morning to the strong aroma of a female’s perfume. Thinking that a house keeper had stopped by to check on the breakfast area. Stepped out to go get a coffee and say hi. Again still alone and could not the perfume. Went back to my room and all I could smell was the perfume. Nice place though.
- Michael (10/5): - Property is very quiet. The restaurant is always good
- Pam (10/5): - Peaceful, very pretty. The property is nicely maintained.
- Dawn (8/5): - The room was charming and it was helpful to have a nice restaurant available there. The area was beautiful. We saw a deer from our room window in the morning.
- Gary (6/5): - Grab and go breakfast was not satisfactory?
- michael (6/5): - The room was a little musty which messed with my wife’s allergies.
- Diane (8/5): - If you're looking for a 'luxury' stay, this would not be it. BUT, if you're looking for clean, comfortable, and good food, this is it. The accommodations are clean, comfortable, and basic. The on-site restaurant is excellent. If you do eat onsite and want a manhattan, ask Sam to make it. He's great!
- Diane (6/5): - Grounds were beautiful. No staff. All electronic. No wi-fi info. Had to go to bar to get password. Couldn't figure out how to operate the TV. Hinge on bathroom door was loose and had to lift door to close it. Parking was limited and a bit far to carry luggage, etc. Mattress was too hard. Woke up with knots in back. Other cabins may have been better. Owner should try a night's stay in room. Breakfast was good, but no tables available to put food on. Lovely setting.
- Taylor (10/5): - There isn’t much bad to say, everything about the property has been a positive experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wedding Guest Stay - Very nice pub crew. Food good and reasonable. No front desk, but text/email communication very responsive. Beautiful, quiet, serene property. Nuce common area in Cedar Lodge. Comfortable bed. Felt like maybe cleanliness of floors in room and breakfast area not up to par.
- Andrea (8/5): - Altogether, a good place to stay in a lovely region of Pennsylvania. Breakfast options are not particularly fantastic health-wise, but there are many choices. Rooms are very quiet and comfortable. Very, very clean floors and bathroom. Hot water needs some help, as the shower reaches to a temperature of about 75 degrees. They may or may not accept service animals, so if you have one like I do for my epilepsy, you should call Nicole first.
- Michael (10/5): - That's a nice place to visit it's always quiet I enjoy my stay every time
- Todd (8/5): - Nice rustic place, clean, safe.
Communication was a bit lacking.
- Stephen (10/5): - This is a gem in the mountains. Excellent food at the restaurant. The staff was wonderful. The beds are amazing. Very clean. Beautiful property.
- Michael (10/5): - It's a nice place to spend the night. Very quiet. All the amenities, the whole property is very well maintained and the restaurant's really good as well
- Denise (10/5): - We loved this place! Were going to bring our family next time
- Nicole (10/5): - Great stay
- Michael (10/5): - The property is extremely quiet, very peaceful place The restaurant has really good food it's one of my favorite places to stay in ligonier
- Karen (10/5): - Everything was great ! Loved the pool table .
- Debbi (10/5): - The lodges were clean and very quaint. The food was amazing. Impeccable service as well.
- Tamara (10/5): - Best hidden gem I’ve ever discovered!
- Eric (10/5): - It was amazing! Great game room in the basement, super clean and tidy, the room was in tip top shape. I'm sure the restaurant is great, but they were closing just as we got there due to a winter storm.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Winter getaway - What a wonderful place—comprised of several lodges, each offering a different room-type setup, all close enough together to be convenient, but not crowded. Ours had a basement game room, with the restaurant/pub nearby. Staff member helped me choose which place to book based on our need for snowmobile trailer parking space.
- Amelia (10/5): - My boyfriend and I went to the Steelers game on Saturday and Seven Springs Resort on Sunday. This lodge was the perfect place to stay to be able to go to both places. Our room was extremely clean and the to go breakfast in the morning was great! I would highly recommend this place to anyone doing anything around this area of Pennsylvania!
- Thomas (10/5): - Was supposed to have breakfast but doors were locked and could not access it.
- Tim (10/5): - Beautiful Mountain Setting,Nice restaurant and Bar, and Friendly Staff.
- Isabela (10/5): Excellent and quiet stay - The room was very clean and cozy. Even if they did not have a physical reception room, they clearly explained everything in the emails. I truly recommend it for a quiet trip experience.
- Jaime (10/5): - Room very comfortable and well appointed
Have stayed before and will again
- Richard (8/5): - This well cared for rustic setting is very convenient to several of our family connections. We appreciate the welcoming owner (congratulations for 20yrs in business) and appreciate the courteous staff. Onsite dining and bar were great to have especially after driving 5 hours in snow and fog. Guests should not expect a 5 star major city hotel. This is an excellent rustic setting, clean, and cost effective for travel through this area. Thank you.
- Donald (10/5): - Quick overnight stay. Room was small but met our needs. Clean. Fairly priced. Would definitely stay here again
- Susan (4/5): - Rooms are small, bathroom small, no where to lay clothes or towel. Terrible lighting. Open the curtains, and someone outside standing there looking at you.
- kristen (10/5): - Location, in mountain
- Ronald (10/5): - Place was great very clean
- Carol (10/5): Great Place for a Family Reunion - We were a family of 17 cousins and spouses and this was a perfect place for us to spend three days together. Our room was super clean, as were all the gathering places. The new bathrooms and floors were great. The staff was on hand and were extremely helpful. The payment system with room assignments and codes worked great. Nicole was easy to contact if necessary and very responsive to any need.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great beautiful grounds for the Foggy Mountain Inn!
- John J (10/5): - Nice room. Immaculately clean.Beautiful surroundings. Excellent restaurant.
- Franklin (10/5): - GREAT ALL AROUND ... EASY IN and EASY OUT and QUIET ... WILL RETURN SOME DAY!!
- Rita (6/5): - The property is lovely ... at least ecerything I saw on the outside.
I booked this through Expedia and my husband and I were more than a little disconcerted when we arrived at the property to find it completely dessertes ... not another car or petson in site.
It never dawned on me that I would have received an email the day vegore with check in instructoons (I do NOT check emails often ehen travelling). It would have been MUCH better to text me ... that I would have seen.
I dio not think that it is acceptable to gave no one on site.
The email said that the ice nachine and breakfast coukd be found in Cedar Lodge. I coukd NOT get into this lodge so no ice or breakfast for me ... feel a bit of a refund is in order.
This had the opportunity to be a great experience but it is hard to e joy a property when there is no one on site and the phone goes unanswered.
- Rick (8/5): - Nice stay…. Missing some little things
- Mary (10/5): - 1) Would liked to have seen more seating options around the property to sit back and relax, enjoy the weather, read a book, take photos, do some journal writting, observing nature etc. Maybe Adorondack chairs or something.
2) Would be nice to have screens in the windows so can open and enjoy the fresh night air.
- Wendy (8/5): - VERY CLEAN. No refrigerator in room. Ice maker is in another building. No shades or blinds on windows with curtains that were dark, but somewhat sheer. (When the building is one-story, you feel like everyone can see inside.)
- Sam (10/5): - Super helpful staff, a lively breakfast service and clean, comfortable rooms, only a short distance from downtown Asheville and right off the main highway. Good place, no complaints.
- melissa (10/5): - Very nice
- Andrew (10/5): - Comfy , nice grounds, peaceful wish we thought to turn off fan .
- Kevin (8/5): Not bad - Room was very clean and comfortable.
The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the contactless check in. They dont even have a front counter. I dont think that a saw an employee my whole stay.
Restaurant was average.
- Jaime (8/5): Darkness - All fine except lost power early AM and nobody to report to
- Shannon (10/5): Lovely Rustic Getaway - Beautiful rustic location to stay for a weekend. Great restaurant just steps away from our door was awesome, too!
- John (10/5): - Friendly restaurant and pub staff
- Richard (8/5): - A couple of signs pointing out the various lodges.
- Nicole (10/5): - Very peaceful
- Melissa (8/5): - Peaceful, quiet, and clean property surrounded by woods. The cabin rooms are clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the decor was cute. The room also has a dresser, chair, lamp, coffee maker, and a mounted wall TV. There is also a Pub/Restaurant on-site with nice outdoor seating.
- Sherry (10/5): - Very comfortable and great staff. Quiet easy check-in check-out
- ryan (10/5): thumbs up - great little escape, very easy check in, super comfortable beds
- Verified traveler (6/5): Review of our stay - The suite was clean and comfortable. We were able to have a nice place to stay overnight while enjoying a ski trip. The check-in process was easy and flexible. The only negative out of the experience was the service at the pub. The wait staff were not friendly and closed their kitchen way before they were actually closed, so we weren't able to get the food that we wanted. Would not eat at the pub again, but would stay at the lodge again.
- Spring (8/5): It was ok - It was very nice we went for new years. But we were upset with no fridge or microwave in the room. We put out little over 400.00 for the night so that was depressing.
- LARRY (6/5): - Old but clean
- Kimberly A (10/5): - It was great!
- ROSE (10/5): - Beautiful Property
- SHANE (8/5): - The weather was nice, but we were not able to open. The windows for the rather they were broke or screwed shot that was very disappointing.
- Robert (8/5): Very Homey - It was very clean. The breakfast bar was great with 24 hour access. The room itself had no refrigerator or phone.
- DONALD (4/5): - Ee were keft a hlaf roll of toilet paper and no spares.
Mattress awful. Kept sinking in the middle.
Second day we couldnt access the TV. Kept asking for a code.
- Anne (10/5): - Interesting facility Retaurant manger he was helpful making me aware of the grounds,
- Michael (8/5): - This was a great place to stay.. Easy check-in, great staff, pub was had a nice atmosphere with wonderful people… The biggest issue we had was very very poor wifi.
- Pamela (10/5): - I loved my stay there! Rooms are a little dated/rustic, but all in all…..loved it!
- Verified traveler (10/5): R&R - Very nice secluded getaway…..looking forward to staying again in the future.
- deborahcO9154KE (10/5): Relaxing, beautiful, peaceful home away from home 🌻 - The location is perfect, the owners have made sure you have everything you need, spotless & clean, close to canoing, fish right off the shore, on site parking, we have been there about 5 times this year, will be back!! Owners treat you as family 🌻
- Sandra (10/5): - I liked how quiet it was. Restaurant right on property. Room was unique and decorated nicely. Employees were very friendly.
What I didn't like was there was no mat in the tub and it was slippery. I would recommend your Lodge to everyone.
- Amy (2/5): - Other than a quiet and tranquil setting there isn't much positive. Our sheets had dirt and grass on them when we pulled the covers back. Toilet was clogged and was never addressed, luckily we had 2 rooms and could use the other rooms toilet. Pretty much no TV reception.
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful scenery and the wait staff is awesome.
- Brian (10/5): - We loved our stay our room was clean & comfortable. The pub was a great place to eat, drink and watch the game and karaoke night was fun to watch too!
- Russell (10/5): - Great rustic, cozy place. Very clean. The restaurant was fantastic.
- Jeff (10/5): - Very quiet very well maintained.
- Reese (10/5): - It is a very unique property, we have never stayed at a place anything like this before. Had a lovely meal in Ligonier.
- T (10/5): - What a sweet gem of a spot! We only stayed on night whil visiting the Frank Lloyd Wright homes in the area, but loved this place. Room was lovely with a super comfortable bed and with the col night air I got the best sleep I've had in ages. We went mid week and it was very quiet.
- Marcia (8/5): - The property was beautiful and very well kept with acres of grass and trees, many in blossom, variety of birds. Buildings were very clean.
- Manny (10/5): - The contactless check-in is a real convenience. Loved that.
- Vicki (10/5): - This was such a great place to stay and have our small wedding reception. Plenty of rooms to accommodate guests and a common area to hang out with a fireplace and game room downstairs. Economical rooms for the skiing area.
