The beds were comfy and it had everything we needed including seats on the balcony to relax on. A car blocked the entrance to the back of the section so we couldn't park our bikes out of sight of the road.

The oven in the kitchen was not clean, the grill was covered rancid fat and unusable. The extractor hood had mold growing on it. The bathroom was moldy and the shower and basin were dirty with mold. The toilet roll holder looked disgusting. The table had four different styles of chair, very different from the photos. Three of the chairs were ripped or near broken. The place looked shabby and care worn and the lightshade in the lounge was filled with dead bugs. The curtains in the lounge were dirty and didn't fit properly. The windows sills and slider sills were dirty. The mirror in the bathroom had black electrical tape that was peeling off. The shower was unclean with soap scum and mold. The bathroom math had bleach mark stains on it. One of the deck chairs was broken and missing a slat. The stable runner was stained.
• Alden Cai (10/5): Homely stay in sublime Coromandel - Host is so relaxed, trusting and easy-going. Didn't require ID verification and sent doorcode beforehand for smart, seamless arrival. Unit isn't super modern but many touches make this place advanced: the digital door-lock, warm minimalist interior, 5G WIFI. The beautiful interior with IKEA furniture like the Ragrund and Regolit lamp makes this unit like a home. The unit didn't feel like it was at a commercial property like hotel/motel- it gave you sense of belonging...people like host treated you as if you're neighbour for instance. Love also how many services/amenities are all self-intiated...the provisions left by previous guests for future use show the care and generosity of the community which is awesome Can't think of anything for the first time in a booking.com review...

Everything i needed was there. I would bring my family and stay here for longer if we get the chance. It was a pleasant and an enjoyable stay. Theres nothing that i didnt like. If anything, if you're gonna stay here for work or school and need the iron and ironing board, just let the owners and caretakers know in advance. Also if you stay longer and need to wash your clothes, they currently dont have a washing machine.

• Kane (10/5): A welcoming escape steps from the beach. - There are a few references online that call this place a hostel, but let me assure you—it’s not a hostel at all. This is a charming property with three separate, well-appointed units that create a welcoming and social atmosphere. Two of the units are on the ground floor, and the third occupies the entire top floor. Each unit is thoughtfully designed with its own kitchen, dining area, and private outdoor deck, perfect for relaxing or connecting with fellow travelers. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting the other guests. We spent time chatting on the deck and even had dinner with two wonderful travelers from London who were staying next door. The layout of the property naturally encourages friendly interactions, making it feel like a little community. The location is fantastic—just one block from the beach, with parking right out front, and a short walk to the downtown strip with its shops and restaurants. What really makes this place stand out, though, is Mauro, the owner. He’s a phenomenal host—kind, approachable, and passionate about what he does. On-site, he runs a surf kiosk where you can rent surfboards or kayaks, and he also offers a surf school and guided kayak tours. Don’t miss his tour to Donut Island; it was the highlight of our trip! Mauro’s energy and hospitality truly bring this property to life. We stayed for four nights and wished we could’ve stayed longer. It’s the perfect place for those who want a mix of adventure and connection. A solid 10/10

• Alice (8/5): Very good - I stayed in the flat on the first floor, very spacious and welcoming, with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. The property is located a few steps from the beach and close to the Main Street Port Rd in town. WiFi is excellent. The hosts run a surf school and rent kayaks as well - I could do the surf lessons but unfortunately not try the kayak to donut island due to rain, next time! The TV was sometimes not working but not a big issue, the stay was great.

The bedding had pet hair and what looked like someone elses hair in it. The cover was missing off the power board. There was a cover missing off the hot water cupboard next to the shower. Shower pressure was so low it took a long time to wash the provided soap off.

The property itself is a bit old so the insulation is pretty bad. We could literally hear everything from above. Their walkings, talkings, opening the doors etc sounded super loud to us.
