- Analie (5/5): I’ve stayed at this resort before and had a decent experience, but this stay was very poor and disappointing. There was - Close to where I lived. I’ve stayed at this resort before and thought it was decent, which is why I decided to come back. Unfortunately, this recent stay was very disappointing. The check-in process was poor, and there was no notice or disclosure that the second-floor area was under construction. When we got to the elevator, the button for the second floor was taped over, so we accidentally pressed the third floor and later found out the second floor was inaccessible by elevator due to construction. We ended up using the stairs just to reach our room. The hallway leading to the room was dusty and noisy because of the ongoing construction. Once inside the room, it was still dusty and extremely hot. There was also no hand soap provided, which is a basic necessity that should already be available for guests. Considering I paid 8,000 pesos per night, the overall experience did not feel worth the price or up to resort standards. To make things worse, the breakfast buffet had very poor food selections. Overall, this stay was far below expectations compared to my previous visit.

The rooms were also dirty, old, and very hot, making it uncomfortable to relax. Even the elevators were extremely hot and not functioning properly most of the time. Overall, the facilities felt poorly maintained and outdated. The only good thing about this resort is the beach area, which was nice. But aside from that, the experience did not match the high price at all. - Charles (9/5): - The resort is fantastic for families, especially with kids — there’s so much to do that ours were in absolute heaven. The variety of pools and activities kept them constantly entertained, and it really felt like a place designed for fun and making memories. The views are absolutely spectacular, especially from the rooms, and considering the price point, it offers great value for money. Overall, if your focus is on the kids having the best time, this place absolutely delivers. While the overall experience was enjoyable, the hotel itself does show signs of being a little tired in certain areas. Some of the finer details — particularly in the rooms and finishes — are noticeable, especially from an adult perspective. It doesn’t necessarily take away from the stay, but it’s something worth noting if you’re expecting a more polished or modern feel throughout. Additionally, some of the facilities were closed during our stay due to maintenance, and from what I’ve since read, this seems to be a fairly common theme — which is a bit disappointing when you’re expecting full access to what’s advertised.

- Susan (9/5): Very comfortable, great facilities, pools, food and staff. - It is a place for those that love a pool, great food that is value for money and a concierge that was the best we came across in the Philippines. They booked good tours for us. The drive for snorkelling, isn’t close but the drive is interesting and tours well organised. Closer resorts didn’t appear to be as nice. Our daughter utilised the free daily shuttle to the shopping centre which is huge. Best resort for swimming, slides, inflatables etc. Grandchild and I loved it. It’s not a dislike but it say you go to Bohol from here like we did it’s a huge day. Maybe stay in Bohol a night as well. The packed breakfast was 3 bread rolls and 2 eggs which compared to the included buffet could include a much better cold selection- was surprised given everything else was so great. Would love it if they had an on site cooking class. Only one on island is a demonstration with limited involvement and something I think they would do well. Birthdays are well celebrated by staff who call themselves the Solea family.
- Justin (5/5): The location is in a dodgy area, people say you can walk there but I wouldn’t honestly . - The pools looked like the pics There was one young gentlemen there as a waiter, I believe his name way Raymond, he was fantastic. Really world class, so friendly and professional and the cleaning lady was really so sweet and professional, she checked in everyday to see if I was okay, if I needed anything. She was very nice . But the main thing, the location, it’s far away from everything but that’s okay it’s a taxi ride away , the problem is the location of the hotel, I didn’t feel safe from the entrance onwards. I couldn’t walk anywhere.

- Morten (4/5): - The swimming pool for small kids is big and good fun for them. Actually this was not such such great experience. 3 times times reported leaking and broken toilet. No one took note although each time they said they did. Finally I got to speak to the manager on last day who also had no notification of broken toilet. Nevertheless manager fixed it immediately so well done to her, but staff was not up to standard. In the restaurant I was served bad and smelly shrimps as part of salad (even the staff did not dare to eat it). So all in all this could have been a better stay

I booked another room for my nephew so we have a room to chill right away after long trip. There was one available on a very corner of the other side of the building right next to a construction area. They have no washcloths available? Most foreigners showered with washcloths. I booked for garden view...I can only imagine! Vloggers are not being honest to everything...

The pools water level was lower than it was supposed to be, one of the pools was closed, and another pool was being torn up while we were there. Additionally the “garden view” is actually just a garbage view as you face a large pile of trash. The bathroom was also not maintained well and needed to be renovated a long time ago as it was becoming crusty and gross. The overhang off one of the roofs was also missing tiles and you could tell the property is falling i to disrepair.

- JUMPEI (8/5): - プールは５種類以上あり、9歳の子供にとても合っていました。特にアスレチックプールはとても良かったです。朝ごはんは色々な国の食事があり、アジア料理として子供の口に合わなさそうなものもありましたが、品数が多かったので大丈夫でした。 3Fの部屋でしたが、クーラーを付けていたら夜中に室外機がものすごい音でカンカンなるようになり、叩き起こされました。自分の部屋のクーラーを止めるとその音が止むことに気づくのにも時間がかかりました。フロントに言えばよかったのですが、深夜だったのと次の日チェックアウトだったので、その後はクーラーを止めて暑いまま過ごしました。ハズレの部屋を引いた感じです。

- Deborah (8/5): Leuk verblijf met waterpark - We hebben een heerlijke dag genoten van de aanwezige zwembaden. De bedden zijn comfortabel en het ontbijt is enorm uitgebreid! Er was een deel Waterpark gesloten voor onderhoud en ook waren er een paar andere glijbanen dicht.
- YIDA (10/5): Great Resort with Everything You Need - The resort offers excellent facilities and everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. There are multiple swimming pools, various recreational activities, a private beach, and several restaurants that offer great value for money. The rooftop bar is also a fantastic spot to unwind and enjoy the view. Honestly, you don’t even need to leave the resort — everything is conveniently available on-site. A perfect choice for a stress-free vacation! The soundproofing in the rooms is not perfect, and you may occasionally hear noise from the hallway, especially when other guests are passing by. (The Korean tourists were a bit loud)

All of the pools with slides were closed, the only one open was the inflatable world and you had to pay to use it. The staff were extremely confused and slow and difficult to sort out check out and paying bills etc. This took up a lot of time and barely gave time for us to enjoy our day by the pool.

The place was a little dated and starting to be a bit run down. The beach had tons of jellyfish and sea urchins. There was a lack of guard rails at the stairs going into the pool.

Additionally, the booking informatio - Poolside We encountered several room and facility issues during our stay, as our experience did not match what was advertised during our booking. 1. Room 581 shower was not functioning properly with only very small amount of water coming out, handwashing area was clogged, toilet water kept flushing continuously which was disturbing. 2. When i booked indicated free meals as part of genius member level 2 however upon check-in, we were informed that the meals were not part of the package 3. Inflatable pool, which was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, was not accessible for booking.com reservations only available for direct to Solea booking. During booking, it only stated that its unavailable due to maintenance last Sep17. During our stay, we noticed that its actually available but only who booked directly through hotel’s apps not through Booking.com. This condition was not disclosed the booking process and very misleading.

- RICHARD (10/5): - The resort has a lot to offer with beach access & all the pools. The staff was very professional & helpful. The resort had some needed repairs to do. The roof over the dining area needed to be replaced in some areas & the men's bathroom had 2 of the 3 toilets non functioning by the time we left.
- James (10/5): - The breakfast was incredible. Easily worth the extra upcharge on the room. I love how friendly and courteous the staff is and how everyone was always asking if we needed anything. The furniture in the smoking area could use some repairs, but it's not a major inconvenience.
- Elsa (7/5): The hotel room was too small for its price but nice food. - Staffs were so friendly, tricycle drivers outside were honest for the fare amount. During our stay, only one elevator was working. It was taking too long for us to wait for the working elevator so we had to take the stairs going down and up.
- LARS KIRBY (10/5): Overall, my stay at the Solea Mactan Resort was really excellent. - Well, first and foremost, I appreciated the foods that were served to us during our breakfast, and my children enjoyed the free access provided by Happy Pebbles. The pool was really clean and spacious. Staff are really accommodating, so I flew my drone in the facilities, and the staff, especially the front desk, assisted me with the permission slip.

- Randy (7/5): Over all, it was okay. - I like the place and the acitvity pools. My son enjoyed those. Also I requested a simple Happy Birthday greeting for my son and they put up welcome balloons and followed it up with a small piece of cake. While the resort has much to offer, our check-in experience was quite disappointing. Due to our flight schedule, we arrived at 11:30 AM hoping for an early check-in. While I understand the official time is 3:00 PM, we ended up waiting in the lobby and restaurant until 2:30 PM. Given that checkout is at 11:00 AM, a 4-hour turnaround felt excessive, especially as we had to constantly follow up with the front desk for updates. It was a long, exhausting wait that resulted in my son becoming very distressed and crying by the time we finally got our key. I suggest the management look into better prioritizing room readiness for early arrivals or providing clearer communication so guests aren't left wondering for hours. Another comment, the beach is not that nice and when we try to go there to kayak, there were no available kayak. They only have probably 3. To a facility that big, they should add more. We ended up not staying at the beach.

Hair on floors in both bedrooms- gross.No where to buy bottled water or snack foods. Photos are deceiving Looked like beach access but fake beach and netted off inlet. Disappointed with our stay. The best part of the complex is the staff.

- melane (10/5): the best place to catch up with family with kids - We were at the resort when Typhoon Tino hit, and wow… the staff were absolute legends! 💪 They moved everyone up to level 4 straight away and kept us feeling safe the whole time. Even with the storm raging outside, meals were still served without a fuss, and the generator kept everything running smoothly. Total peace of mind. Sure, we couldn’t enjoy the facilities during the typhoon, but the pools and beachfront looked so good—I’m already planning to come back when the sun’s out. 🌴☀️ nothing
