- patriciacW6272KC (10/5): Great stay for a Candlelight show - We stayed at the Travelodge Ancoats for one night as we were going to a Candlelight concert nearby. We found the hotel to be clean and tidy, rooms smelt fresh and were clean, the hotel staff and manager went out of their way to make sure our stay was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was great value, with everything you could want, we would definitely stop here again if we are in the area

- 13ass (10/5): A very good experience - Very good experience. Lovely room, quiet atmosphere. The food (a Buddha Bowl) was great. A problem with my shower was seen to and fixed directly. A guest who was causing a few problems was told he could not have any more alcohol. All in all staff were great, helpful and professional. Would definitely recommend staying here when in Manchester.

Within easy walking distance of the station, shops, bars and restaurants. Very friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms.
- rjh090384 (6/5): Cosy but noisy. - Perfect location and I got this at an excellent price for the time of year. The room was clean and I had a premium room on the higher floor . I booked this thinking being higher up may reduce the noise. Public service announcement- it does not. The street is so noisy (not unexpected due to location), however the windows are so poor, I got up several times to check rhey were not open. Many other city centre hotels have sound proofing so im not sure why this was not the case here. Coffee pod machine was really poor quality with no instructions or guide as to what the coffees were and no snack as mentioned on the website. Noise from inside hotel was minimal, it was clean and staff were friendly. Im not sure this outweighs the poor night sleep though.
- michaelmX5445QY (8/5): Good stay. - I stayed at this hotel for one night, the staff were helpful friendly and polite, my room was spacious and cosy, heated to a comfortable temperature and clean bedding and towels, the room had been well cleaned. I had a full English breakfast in the morning which was cooked to a high standard and was nice and hot, the coffee was very good. The only reason this is not 5 star is the noise from the busy road outside. Location was great for both train stations the Arndale and Etihad Stadium. I got a good price of £30 by booking early but I would shop around when the price goes over £60. I would stay again at the right price.

Would definitely stay again as exceeded expectations. Had a great time in the bar with other residents after midnight .Big shout out for Michael who served us and dealt with every eventuality with charm and good humour. Impressive! 👍❤️
- adamfP8626TY (10/5): Made us feel completely at home 🙂 - I have stayed at plenty of Travelodge’s and have to say that this is the best one, the staff were excellent, especially Meeks and Alessio who welcomed us on arrival and were terrific throughout our stay, very friendly and attentive. This hotel has a really friendly vibe and that’s a credit to the staff
- CYMRUBACH (8/5): A pleasant stay - Nice hotel. Staff were friendly & helpful. We stayed on the top floor in a standard room plus. However apart from the wifi, coffee machine & Kit Kats ( which were replaced every day), there was no difference to a basic Travelodge room. In fact we had a smaller TV than we had when staying in a basic Travelodge. The room was not the best shape but it was warm & the bed was comfy. I found the shower room cold & could have done with a heated towel rail. The shower was poor with not much water flow but it served its purpose. The hotel was an easy walk to the town centre & train station.

The recent refurbishment has made a big difference, and the bar now feels much more relaxing. The staff are always helpful and consistently go out of their way to make my stay as smooth as possible.

The staff went above and beyond to help me in every way and the food on both nights was delicious. Rooms were big, clean, and value for money. As a woman traveling alone it was great to have such helpful and caring staff. Big shout out to Meeks, Carla, and Daniela.
- Ddffgbgdxd (8/5): Great hotel with great staff, but loud - We stayed here and were impressed. The staff were great and the room was excellent. They made a bit of a fuss of my son as it's his birthday and gave me a gift of sweets which he loved. I thought this was a nice gesture. One draw back of the hotel, the road noise is very loud all night long with traffic and loud passes by. I know it's a city location but this was very loud. That's the only negative.
- Jennifer_Helen (8/5): Great location, helpful staff - not so good breakfast - The hotel is in Manchester's northern quarter - we booked it as it was the cheapest option and was still walkable to everywhere we needed to be... that said the area was incredible! The northern quarter hosts all the independent shops and bars, we actually enjoyed exploring this part of central Manchester the most. It was a reasonable walk (even with children) to central Manchester and the science museum, as well as all the bars, shops and restaurants. The breakfast wasn't good - although I will concede, when you stay as a family and kids eat for £1 it's still compelling! As an adult/couple staying, I would recommend one of the plentiful local cafes.

On arrival the staff are so friendly and welcoming willing to go above and beyond for guests. Given a room on the top floor very quiet, fabulous refurbished rooms bright and refreshing colours. Room was spacious good sized TV and bathroom with a bath. Near to Piccadilly Gardens also perfect for tram links. Plenty of restaurants around for food too.

- kevinhaig (8/5): Great Location - Cheap car park just over the road. SIP Parking. Book on the app. £7 for 24 hours. Ancoats area and Northern quarter. Lots of restaurants and nightlife. Easily accesible by road and 10 mins walk from Piccadilly.
- charlesdT9598GW (10/5): Ancoats - traffic v noisy.. - Convenient location but lots of traffic noise even with d/g windows despite our room was on the side of the block. Room 411 was probably the smallest in the hotel . OK for overnight, but not for holiday - yes even in Manchester! Breakfast offering wasy great, but no fried eggs. So 4/5. Evening menu was not tested - ping cuisine - not for me so 0/5 I use T/L a lot (around 30 days yearly) and Ancoats (the hotel) would score only 2/5. On reflection a room at the rear of the hotel would surely be quieter, but probably have no outlook. So still only 2/5. Most staff were friendly and cheery. 3/5.
- llowmanuk (10/5): Travel lodge Ancoats Manchester - Excellent location. It’s within walking distance of the coach station, Arndale centre and AO arena. There’s a team nearby to get the the Etihad campus / co-op live arena as well but this is also walkable (just a bit if a longer walk). Staff were all very helpful. Good was good and very reasonable.

- Connector585581 (4/5): Noisiest hotel ever - Nosiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. If you want a good nights sleep don’t stay here. The road outside has traffic on it with loud music playing all night. The windows in the rooms do not stop the noise. Had zero sleep.
- GianlucaRTW (10/5): Travel lodge, such a good surprise - Basic but with all you need, clean and incredibly cheap. Very close to everything, Manchester city centre is within walking distance. Check out up to 12:00 is a plus, you can really sleep and rest enough after a night out. Great staff, I have bene served by Bernadette, lovely and professional. I didn't know tris hotel chain, definetily I will check out travel lodge for my next stays.

- Vacation820350 (6/5): No sleep, so disappointed. - I booked a night here before travelling to Manchester Airport. The breakfast was lovely. I paid a bit more for a room on the fifth floor as this is supposed to be the quietest floor. I've no complaints about noise inside the hotel but so disappointed by the noise outside. All night there were sirens and traffic. I kept getting disturbed and didn't feel rested at all next day. The windows probably need looking at. Mine didn't seem to close tight to the frame. This really is an issue. Needless to say, my plan to get some sleep before my flight next day didn't happen. I couldn't stay here again.
- chloecJ804ML (8/5): Lovely staff/hotel, just some noise issues. - The staff were lovely, girl with black/blue hair checked us in at reception, chatting with us friendly and welcoming, a girl with long brown hair at breakfast served us when buying breakfast and asked about myself and was friendly. Its a clean hotel room/bar café, but just a lot of outside noise (sirens, shouting) and inside noise (the lifts/talking) which did unfortunately affect my friends sleep all night, she didnt really sleep/woke up every hour.
- PrideAndPassports (2/5): Currently a building site - not a hotel - I usually stay at this Travelodge when working in Manchester, as it’s always been my preferred spot. However, my most recent stay was extremely disappointing. The hotel is currently a building site. There was no bar or dining area, and the lobby, lift and corridors were covered in plaster dust with tools and tradesmen everywhere and strong smells of wet paint. I know this is a budget hotel and I’ve always considered it exceptional value for money, which is why I usually stay here when in Manchester - but this was a joke. Very disappointing and not acceptable. I stayed for a full week for work, and not being able to get breakfast in the hotel or relax in the bar afterwards was a real let-down. To make matters worse, I was woken by drilling, then had a tradesman knock on my door asking when I was checking out — despite having already paid for late checkout. What makes this unacceptable is that at no point during booking was I warned about the disruption or loss of facilities. As a regular guest, I might still have booked had I known, but I should have been given that choice. The lack of transparency has left me extremely disappointed and now reconsidering where I stay in Manchester in the future.

- 527keelyt (10/5): Good Location - Hotel is in a great location in the Northern Quarter and not far to walk to Arndale Centre/shopping area. Room was clean and the bed was super comfy. If I stayed again I would opt for the plus rooms on the top floor for that extra space as we stayed 2 nights. The lower floor basic rooms are adequate for a one night stay though.

And no bag drop either as the doors were all open for trades people to come in and out so didn't feel too secure. Very cheap in comparison to others in the centre so no major complaints for the price.

- 257phoebeh (8/5): For the price and location of two nights including breakfast you couldn't complain! - For the price and location of two nights including breakfast you couldn't complain! We had one of the newly refurbished rooms and it was completely fine. There is no air conditioning in rooms which for that weekend did mean our rooms were warm but compared to reviews i read before staying was no where near as bad as expecting. (It was 25/27 degree heat and was able to sleep with window closed) A fan was also provided but we just made sure window was open all day. However, when booking a travelodge again i’d ensure that our rooms will have air-con. There was no bath mat provided so we made use of the spare towel however a real lack of places to hang our towels. A back of door hook is needed but wasn’t a big deal just some general advice. Breakfast was average but nice and quiet and always fully stocked. And lastly Bernadette who checked us in was great! Super friendly and even gave us transport advice for our plans which matched exactly what she said! Overall, for the price and location would return!

Ordering dinner was no trouble very attentive. I use Travelodge for business all over and your Stratford London team should be trained by these very valuable individuals. Their upselling skills were also a credit to them you felt you wanted to spend money purely down to their customer service.
- J205NJharryd (10/5): Affordable luxury, Top marks! 5* New assistant manager was brilliant and made me feel very welcome! - 5* experience at Travel lodge ancoats, I stayed here the night as I had a meeting in Manchester the next day and it did not disappoint me. I normally would not have trusted a budget hotel as family have had some pretty bad experiences and complaints. I went there with no expectations as this was my first Travelodge stay. I was welcomed warm and professionally by the assistant manager (Stacey) who then checked me in efficiently, informing me of the breakfast times and bar opening hours. When I went to my room my breath was taken away. Clean, modern , safe plenty of words to describe the room it was much more than what I thought I was getting- when telling reception that my room exceed expectations they told me it was newly fitted and this just topped my excitement. I went down to the bar had a few drink to end the day which was very well priced. In the morning I had my breakfast, again brilliant standard very fresh and lots to choose from . I will definitely be returning to ancoats travelodge whenever I am in Manchester. Brilliant Team very helpful and Stacey is a credit to the company! :)
- 364clareleigh (4/5): Very basic at Ancoats Manchester - The room smelt damp and foisty when we entered. There were no bulbs in our bedside lamps and only one side light worked on the dressing table. There was no hand soap or body wash/ shower gel in our room and there was no hand soap in the toilets downstairs either. There was no aircon in our family room of four and if it was a hot summers night it would have been impossible to sleep with the window open as the traffic noise and emergency services were so noisy. The place looked a bit run down and could do with some work doing. There was a separate paid car park across the road which was only £9.50 for 24hours. We only stayed for one night as we went to the Coop live. It was a 10 minute drive but we had booked this last min. If you wanted a cheap and cheerful room for the night this would be fine but I wouldn’t stay here for any longer.
- 766kyar (10/5): Perfect stay - Stayed at this Travelodge well attended the drake concert perfect location to the new co op arena just a short bus ride away staff gave us a friendly welcome with all the information we needed to no room had just been newly refitted was beautiful after coming back for the concert at 11:30 pm Mike made up a pizza which was lovely overall perfect stay with lovely staff

Major issues: • Given worst room next to lift (despite prior requests) - staff claimed "fully booked". • Constant noise at midnight, 2am & 4am - zero sleep possible. • Sticky, dirty bathroom floor, disgusting for £80/night. • Staff refused room change, offering no solution or customer service. After a 5-hour drive to Manchester, I got ZERO rest. Completely unacceptable for a hotel that exists for travelers to sleep! --

Shower room from the 80s . shower curtain. Shower head not detachable no extractor fan so the heat goes in the room 3. They charge you for WIFI. The signal isn't good in the building so they trap you with paying to.get the WIFI! evil! I would not recommend . best spend an extra £30 to have a better stay elsewhere! especially if you are going to pay for Internet, those fees will cover you stay at a nicer hotel ! Not a good value at all!

The hotel was fairly central and within easy reach of Piccadilly Gardens which is the hub of the transport network in Manchester. I slept well and breakfast was enjoyable. So would definitely consider staying here again.

The room smelt stagnant and there was no shampoo or soap in the dispenser and there was the previous guests hair in the shower and bathroom.

Recommending a good wine; asking for a top up and checking our booking for the added extra’s. Our room was ready before the designated check in time and Alex delivered our key to the table where we were enjoying our wine. Her customer service was nothing short of amazing! Go on Alex, you deserve a raise, honestly!

I found Ancoats area particularly interesting with canal/warehouse/park developments to the north. Lots going on in immediate area, food etc. Not as busy & noisy as further south.
- mariebN1728KJ (2/5): Worst TravelLodge I’ve stayed in - One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I get that a city centre hotel is a premium but that doesn’t mean TL should drop their standards. £170 for a room for one night I still expect a certain standard. Firstly the room stank, I can’t even explain what is was. The bed base is a blue fabric that was ripped and had white stains on it, buy ones that can be wiped clean. The extractor fan didn’t work in the bathroom, the light flickered and do the linen cages really need to be collected at 6:40 am on a Sunday? The food is blah. The only plus points are the very handy location to the city centre, the bed was comfortable but that’s normal as I know chain hotels but good mattresses and the staff were all lovely and helpful. But TL, do better if you’re charging so much money!

Checking in was easy and very quick . We visited the hotel cafe twice for dinner . Food surpassed expectations and was much better than we expected for such a price .

Breakfast poor ,no croissants or fresh fruit salad despite featuring in the marketing and menu. Toaster not working properly, coffee weak. Room also requires attention. Extractor not working in shower and lightbulb needs replacing. Unable to connect 2nd device to wifi. 2 night stay and requested 'top up' service in room as advertised by deadline, both by door notice and request to housekeeper but no one visited room. Missed out on 'plus' booking benefits as a result. All very disappointing, if not disastrous. Customer service not a priority?

I do not feel that it was worth that amount which really annoys me. It is an average not high class hotel and the price i paid only included 30min wifi and no breakfast .
- Markymrk (10/5): Great Stay - We stayed here for one night as we were going to the AO Arena, check in was easy, the rooms were clean and the bed was very comfy Breakfast was buffet style, good quality and good choice The Hotel is a 15 min walk to the AO Arena and 20mins or so to the Arndale Sopping Centre, plenty of parking near by but some are a bit rough and expensive for 24 hours, so check before you park up and pay

It is as if the window didn't exist, open or closed. Would not recommend if you stay in the room next to the street.

Breakfast worth the extra few pounds - vegetarians well catered for. Prices can vary but you can usually get a reasonable rate if staying midweek. Alex at reception very helpful.
- laura_x87x (6/5): Great location but noise was a factor. - Great location near the northern quarter. With the added bonus of cheap parking nearby and good value for the hotel booking. The staff were really friendly. Hotel is great for a nights stay. Down size is the noise. The people in the room next to us were talking loudly unfortunately into the early hours. We were also woke up very early morning (?4am) with glass bottles being emptied into the bins outside, in the hotels court yard. Followed by noise in the corridors and hairdryers from early morning onwards on people waking. Not a great sleep, which is a shame. No plugs by your bed side also, for ideal bedside comforts. We struggled with plugs altogether in the room, only having one that we had to share between the kettle, our phones and hairdryer. The hand wash was also empty in the bathroom. We had to use the shower wash and lean over into the bath to get some soap. The latter wasn’t too much of a problem, more the noise. With ear plugs and a higher room/hotel noise, would be much higher rating :)

Honestly, that's all you need. Big thank you for that! Day was hard, but you gals made it even the scales. Keep it up! I'm used to hotels, but it's so nice to feel a little bit like home,.even when miles away! Danka & Karolina!

- riteshcroosy (10/5): Excellent stay - Stayed at Travelodge Ancoats for 18 nights. No complaints. Comfortable rooms, prompt service when requested, great food at the restaurant. Provided extra amenities on request such as Iron and iron board. Quiet location, ideal for study or a workation. Great location, walking distance to the Arndale centre and many other eateries as well as famous landmarks. Was received by Alex at the reception, warm welcome and excellent hospitality! Would highly recommend and would happily return for another stay.
- Donald (2/5): - I arrived at 4 am after a United match away. I forgot to book an extea day, but handicapped mate had room available at motel. Staff refused to let me stay with them or even sit in the lobby until opening hours! Disgraceful! And I had just completed a 7-night stay at the motel with no issues.I am 69 years old and they literally threw me out into the dark, wet night! I am so upset with them. The two, young motel employees kept saying that I must leave or they could lose their jobs! No common sense, no compassion, no caring. I will NEVER recommend this chain to anyone and will make it a mission to let travelers everywhere know of this incident and avoid the Travel Lodge Ancoats in Manchester.
- Ying Fan (8/5): - We kozen voor een simpele accommodatie en dat was dit hotel. We kozen voor een hotel met gratis WiFi, helaas kreeg je maar 30 min gratis WiFi daarna tegen betaling. Wat ik miste in de kamer was haardroger en theezakjes. Voor de rest was de kamer ok met badkuip.

Jeg reiste med min sønn og skulle sjekke inn - litt for tidlig på dagen. Det var ikke mulig å sjekke inn kl 14 - greit nok - men jeg sa vi kom sent, og da var svaret: Her kan man sjekke inn 24/7. Så vi satte igjen bagasjen bak disken og trodde alt var i orden. Da vi kom tilbake over midnatt, fikk vi beskjed om at det ikke var noen ledige rom. Vi fikk heller ingen hjelp til å finne rom på nytt hotell - og vi har ikke fått pengene tilbake. Dette hotellet var overhodet ikke hjelpsomme, og kan rett og slett ikke stoles på. Anbefales ikke!!!!

Just around all the North quarter spots in 5 minutes walk and 15 minutes walk to Picadilly station. only the traffic might cause a bit shake feeling now dunno why since I stayed on the top floor. Unfortunately the FREE wifi is not included but only 30 minutes per day.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Travelodge Manchester Ancoats - At a 5 minute walk from Piccadilly Gardens it was very central. Even thought you are just on the fringes of the Northern Quarter it was a quiet hotel and I got a great nights sleep. The staff were very friendly and there was security on the door at night which was reassuring seeing as it's so close to so many late night venues. Also had the best tv service & channel selection of any hotel I've stayed in for a long time. I didn't eat in the hotel but the restaurant area looked clean and comfortable. The only negative things I have to say is the lift was painfully slow and that there was no shampoo / body wash in the bathroom.

- Helen (4/5): Never again - Central location in city but parking poor. Only a handful of disabled parking spots at the rear of the hotel and mostly used by the staff. Car park ( private) opposite is very small and £10 - £15 per 24 hours stay. We only stayed one night. On arrival no staff on reception available. Had to go to nearby restaurant to get some advice on parking ! Check in was fine and staff helpful ( usually from 3pm) room very basic, light switch next to bed was noisy. Noise was a real problem. A huge commotion in the room opposite that night was disturbing, then police attendance in the early hours added to our disturbance. Check out was fine, staff very apologetic but I feel we have been robbed; promised a discount but still not had this. This was our very first night away in a very long time and we really shouldn't have bothered staying over; next time we will get the train home...

The most memorable thing about my stay was the excellent Full English breakfast. Very tasty. The only negative was that they charged £3 a day for the internet, which I think is petty. Today, this is like charging for the light bulbs
