Guest Reviews
- Mark (9/5): Awesome stay and would highly recommend. - Staff were super helpful throughout the entire process with really quick communication. The apartment was perfect for our needs and was very well situated with all the main sights not more than a 30 minute walk away. There wasn't anything that we didn't dislike.
- Zhihong (10/5): -
- Andrzej (9/5): - dobra lokalizacja i dobrze wyposażony lokal wszystko było ok
- MARIO HERNAN (10/5): -
- Marina (9/5): Superb - We had a great stay at this apartment! The place was exactly as shown in the pictures—clean, stylish, and thoughtfully set up. The check-in process was easy, and the host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay.
- Kelly (7/5): Good location and clean, but host did minimal for high cost - Should have supplied coffee, tea, and fresh milk.
Difficult getting into apartment.
Called for instructions on getting in apt, and they sent us a video?? Which was not fully explained.
- Nora (10/5): Apartment is not achotel - Nice having the apartment, but they should have had additional toilet paper. We just had enough. It’s not a hotel room, but they need to have it stocked better.
- Jane (9/5): Convenient, clean, modern apartment with great amenities. - This is a clean, modern apartment with all the amenities you could want. I liked that other residents were renters so it was quiet and safe. There was a receptionist in the lobby that helped us getting in. It was walking distance to attractions. Not enough parking on site so we had to park in a garage a few blocks away. Didn't use car but had to walk luggage in the rain to the apartment.
- Sarah (4/5): Clean apartment, good location, cheap furnishings and unresponsive management - I liked the location. It was close to at least two Metro stations and a small grocery store. It was also very clean. The beds were also comfortable. I was not impressed at all with the decor and tacky furnishings. Everything from the couch to the bed frame to the tables were seemingly bought off a website like Wayfair-- cheap and uncomfortable (except for the mattresses which were quite good). For instance, the TV table still had "A" and "B" direction stickers all over it where one might connect screws and table legs. The futons were dorm living at best. Also, the fire alarm battery was low -- it kept beeping quite loudly. I called the management to get a new battery, and they assured me someone would assist. No one did. After we returned from dinner, the beep was still echoing loudly. I called management back, and they told me to "disconnect the fire alarm" (not safe!). We were then woken up several times that night again by the incessant beeping, all before a 5 AM flight. Overall, they are very responsive and friendly when you first book, but don't seem to care much about issues after you are booked. I would not stay here again.
- Jennifer (8/5): Worth it for the location and cost - but it wasnt the cleanest. - The location is excellent. Bed was super comfortable and the house had everything we needed. The floors were not cleaned and we found dust/hair in multiple locations. I am also not convinced they washed the comforter with the amount of stray hairs we found, so we washed that and the sheets before sleeping - not ideal. Getting the keys and door code was a bit interesting, but ultimately worked and had no issues during our stay.
- Mihaela (10/5): Exceptional - Location, cleaning, ametiests, good beds, nice kitchen
- Tim (8/5): Over all a nice experience - Location was great Parking and had a hard time locating it. No one was there to give instructions.
- Melanie (10/5): Apartment near Logan Circle - The apartment was very clean. It is close to the metro and there is a corner market a few feet away. WE enjoyed our stay!
- María (9/5): Superb -
- Josephine (8/5): Very good -
- Sergio (10/5): Exceptional - Very modern and elegant The water pressure in the shower is very low
- Jo (10/5): - Spacious, modern, clean, secure apartment within 20min flat easy walking distance to the Smithsonian's and Capitol One Arena! Convenient supermarket around the corner (Street Market). Stayed here with our 12 & 15yo. Really enjoyed our stay here!
- Jessica (10/5): Spacious, lovely 2 BR, 2 Ba apt in a quiet upscale neighborhood. Great location. - I was quite unsure and a bit worried about accessing the building and apartment, but it worked out smoothly and conveniently. The Pelican residence staff person opened the door remotely right away when I called. The apartment is very roomy, the beds were comfortable, it was quiet, and on a very upscale street and neighborhood. I felt safe as a lone woman traveler. Very convenient location and walkable, although quite a distance from a Metro stop. The decor is comfortable and pleasant, very modern. It was clean and spacious, with a full-sized fridge, toaster, dishes, pots, etc. There are two bathrooms--very luxurious stay. For DC, the price wasn't bad. Can't think of any suggestions; I was very happy with the stay.
- Zoe (9/5): Large appartment great for relaxing, looking out at the city life below and lots of space. - Mucho espacio, limpio, minimalista, ubicacción central It was a shame there wasn´t a kettle for boiling water
There were no bowls, no salt or oil- some basic kitchen supplies would have been nice
There was no sponge and soap for the dishes or cloth for washing the sides down. There wasnt a dustpan for sweeping the dust on the floor into.
With these few things there it would have been excellent!
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Gordon (8/5): Good area close to everything modern fully equiped apartment -
- Mortimer (8/5): brill - excellent appa getting in to appartment at an out of hours time
- Ki (10/5): Ideal for exploring downtown: great location; comfortable, clean, and modern. Great value! - We were a couple meeting a friend in Washington and, therefore, needed two beds in separate living spaces. We also wanted something relatively close to the national museums on the National Mall. Our friend is disabled, so it was important to have an apartment on the ground floor or accessible by elevator. The apartment was perfect for our needs. Our disabled friend arrived earlier than we did (due to a 3-hour delay with Amtrak), and the concierge was absolutely brilliant in helping him check in. Thank you. While there wasn't anything that we "didn't like", there were two frustrations: 1) It was challenging to lock the apartment door with the fob. We had to get assistance from the concierge on two separate occasions in order to lock the door. 2) There were times when the larger elevator would not open for us to take it to the Terrace floor... only the smaller elevator would open but, as mentioned in the welcome information, it does not go to the Terrace floor. It was challenging for our disabled friend to walk down the stairs to the Terrace floor, so one of us would have to walk down the stairs and take the larger elevator back up to the ground floor in order to use it to get to the Terrace floor. These were minor frustrations, but I mention them in the hope that the processes can be improved for future guests.
- Gadi (10/5): - Nice clean condo in a great location. Will stay again when in the capital.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Very clean and modern. It was a little tricky obtaining the keys in the beginning and understanding how to get to parking in one of the reserved spots, but Crystal helped me through it step by step.
- Helena (10/5): Exceptional - New apartment, clean and quite; perfect location close to museums, convention center, supermarket; privat parking.
- Diane (8/5): wonderful -
- Monica (10/5): It was great! Comfortable and clean. - The location was excellent very closed to different metro Stations
- Shane (9/5): Superb -
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terren (8/5): Nice unit to rent for vacay. Would rent again. - Location was perfect-right in the heart of downtown. Beautiful views. had to pay for parking
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (7/5): For the price and location - great choice. - Great location close to the convention center. Spacious and comfortable. A bit loud at night - lot of street noise.
- Luiza (10/5): had an awesome stay! - great apartment, spacious, newly furnished. had everything i could need. also a great location.
- Po-yi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Great convenient location for short stay in DC - everything you could need within walking distance! - Location of the apt was fantastic and the facilities met needs for someone visiting for a short stay who would be using it as base only to sleep. The apt is a terrace apt which means its below ground level - there was very little light in the apt but not issue when you are out and only plan to be there in evening or for sleeping.
- Ann (10/5): Very convenient and well set up in most cases. Would work well for anyone who is vulnerable to allergies. - Very quiet and well equipped. Location was perfect, within easy walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go. The sofa bed for the third person was pretty uncomfortable, being a synthetic leather surface covered by a sheet. Adding a blanket didn’t help that much.
Needs an extra comfortable chair in the seating area.
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb -
- Svitlana (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is fully equipped for family living. Shop nearby. Beautiful, clean, comfortable. I liked everything, I recommend it.
- Steve (9/5): Great location for an self catering apartment -
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anniek (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a great place, people, and view. Within walking distance to many things. You could walk to the white house if you wanted (.7 miles away).
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Overall the property was nice, BUT it is right over the main garage entrance/exit, so every time the garage gate is opened (all times of the day and night) you can hear it very loudly. Additionally, the bedroom windows only have miniblinds, and could really use some blackout curtains, as the street lights are right outside and the room stays very bright.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location , roomy well equipped apartment. Good choice for a quick sight seeing holiday in DC.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for small family - Awesome location, walk-able to National Mall, Chinatown, most major attractions, restaurants, shopping, bars. Cute apartment in great neighborhood.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stocked with the essentials, clean and spacious. Great location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved the convenient location, across the street from my daughter's building and in walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go.
We spent three nights in this apartment that offered us a good amount of space for two adults and was comfortably furnished. We enjoyed the building's amenities of the outdoor space on the ground level and the rooftop pool area.
We would recommend this apartment and would definitely rent it again. The management company was easy to reach and responsive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The apartment was in a great location with easy access to metro. The building was lovely. The furnishings were nice and bed was comfy. The owners could put a little more effort into stocking the apartment. There were only 6 hangers in a big closet with no dresser drawers. They ask you to wash the towels but there was no laundry detergent. Tissue box and floor mat in the bathroom would be nice and there were only 3 coffee mugs. Kitchen could definitely use more items. Overall great place and we would return, but would bring our own hangers:)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Updated and clean. Receptionist was welcoming. Roof top pool was gorgeous area to relax.
- Sean (6/5): Misleading photography and information - Pictures shown of apartment are Miss leading, our place was more representative of a secondhand shop with a mishmash of items. Both beds were similar to hammocks. Apartment owners in the building are not fond of short stay rentals said one owner I meet during my stay. Which I can understand. Unfortunately ownership decides the hours of the pool on a day to day basis which stinks when your vacationing with kids. 8PM on one night 9PM the next. Would not recommend this location for families. If it would not have been the busy July 4 week I would have attempted to cancel after the first night and found something else but with a family of five that’s nearly impossible last minute.
- Verified traveler (8/5): DC apartment - We had a very good time staying at the apartment with an excellent location. The only drawback was we were told it was with a handicap accessible bathroom which it was not. Everyone else enjoyed staying there.
Would have appreciated better tv service.
- Eli (10/5): - The apartment is very spacious (by New York standards), secure and in a very well maintained building. Everything was in walking distance with Logan Circle to the one side and Du Pont Circle to the other. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fantastic location, centre of all things to do. Full kitchen, washer dryer always welcome. Needs a little touch up with painting and general maintenance. Nice place to stay however.
- Kyle (10/5): Great Stay - The apt and entire complex was great. Perfect location. Nice, new and clean unit with everything our family needed.
- debabrata (4/5): - There was no functioning airconditioning machine. Had to stay in a hot room with temperature of 78 degrees. The problem of the A/C could not be fixed( but attempted).
- Stan (8/5): - Location was excellent and building was good, but the apartment needs some attention. Many household items are worn out and need replacing. For example, the master bedroom mattress was worn out to the point of being uncomfortable. Not enough flatware and glasses were provided. The carpet was stained and needed to be shampooed. Dishwasher didn’t work well. Shower was so extremely ‘low-flow’ that it was difficult wash in the morning. Overall a great location but the property managers need to make more of an effort to provide an experience that lives up to what was advertised. I still give it a positive review anyway because of the location/building being so ideal, and other things (like WiFi and washer/dryer) that worked as advertised. Also nice that little things like paper towels, toilet paper, and shampoo were provided, which is not always the case.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Carpets had old staines, toilet was clogged, shower-heads did not have water pressure due to classification etc...
- Henry C (6/5): Could be great, needs a bit of attention. - This apartment is in a great location in DC, and close to being great. But a few things need to get corrected: 1) There is a large stain on the carpet, right at the entrance. Makes a very bad first impression. Get the carpet cleaned or replaced; 2) the foam beds are TOO cheap. If you are going to do a foam bed like this, at-least get something with a modicum of support; and 3) you need a few wine glasses in the kitchen.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The best part of this property is the location but that’s where the luxury ends. Valet for the car was a nightmare. Valet only has once a day in and out privilege and they stop valet at 10pm. They also tried to charge us a extra day. On our only occasion where we called for our car, the valet left my car unattended and disappeared for 20minutes with the keys. We checked in after 4pm and I really didn’t enjoy checking in to find all bed sheets and towels still wet in machines. Don’t want to deal with making a bed and do housekeeping after a long day of traveling. Plus found a fossilized pizza in the microwave. We also had to deal with a window leak from rain.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The apartment was very comfy and the location was great. It was in a great neighborhood as well. It was a walking directions to most places and lots of restaurants.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Reasonable, like staying at someone's apartment. Bedsheets really low quality and bed not very comfy but not terrible.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Phone reps were wonderful, courteous and available 24/7. Property managers respond quickly to all questions and concerns. The gas fireplace wasn't working late Saturday night when we arrived. By the time we'd come back from Sunday brunch, maintenance had fixed the pilot light and system. The oven took overly long to preheat--within hours of notification, the bottom element was replaced. Really handy location with loads of fab restaurants within a 10 min walk. Comfortable, with a very handy market at the next corner. Incredibly great value and lots of facility amenities. Sorry Air BnB, but this Exec Apartment is a much better option for DC travel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible - I stayed at this property for 3 nights. I arrived in Washington late and checked in late at night.
When I arrived at the hotel, the hotel I was assigned to was a semi-basement property.
I wanted to complain right away, but I didn't want to move my 5-year-old twins back to the cold weather, so I decided to do it later, and I unpacked. The hotel was very dusty and dirty.
After three days of stay, I had a cold and I could write this review only now, three days after I arrived home.
Moreover, there were no designated parking spaces, although it says $20 self-parking, not no-parking. I wasted hours trying to park safely.
I cannot understand why Hotels.com does not specify that the hotel is a semi-underground and has no parking lot.
If I had known these two facts when I made a reservation,
I would never have booked this hotel.
- ck (8/5): - The rooms were fine; the cable did not work, the bathtub drain was clogged. We were there for Thanksgiving and did not call for these problems - who wants to wait for repair on the holidays?
Uber and Taxis and OnStar could not find the place, we had family members dropped all over the place that we had to rescue. The place is called Thomas Circle but there ain't no Thomas around. Pillows are awful.Beds are on the floor. I have terrible arthritis in my knees and that made for an awful experience - getting in and out of bed. We enjoyed our stay and it's better then a hotel. For the $$ should have better pillows and working TV, shower, etc. Despite all these issues, it was just what we needed for a family at Thanksgiving
- Cate (10/5): - Location to my conference
Central to most shopping
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very convenient to the Smithsonian museums and other attractions. Much roomier than I expected. Two bedrooms and two baths was very convenient for two or more guests. Only complaint; initial reception could have been better! Could have been more helpful...
- Michael (10/5): Great Location and Price - great price and location
- Donna (8/5): - The pros: Great location, great neighborhood...we walked to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Great gym (we didn't get to try the pool). The apartment had all we needed: washer/dryer with detergent, coffee maker, toaster, blender for smoothies. Overall cleanliness was good. The size of the apt was great.
The cons: The smell of the cleaning solution was overwhelming, holy cow! We immediately opened all windows as much as we could and left them open for 2 days. The third day the smell had somewhat dissipated. Our last day there the toilet clogged and we called the contact listed on the wall. She never called back. Thankfully our apt had 2 toilets. Evidently that toilet has had problems as there was scratch marks in the toilet bowl indicated it had been service on more than one occasion. Upon arrival, we also found a note that the towels were in the dyer....and they were, dripping(literally) wet. We also replaced a light bulb.
- Aaron (8/5): - Great for family trip to DC. Always nice to have a bit more room to spread out after a long day of sight-seeing. Good location near attractions and eateries as well. Would stay again if I return!
- Traveler (6/5): - Extremely dirty carpets and walls. Missing lightbulbs and very limited china silverware and cooking utensils. Wall clock broken. Oven functions but takes a very long time to heat up.
King size bed slats where broken. Blankets Old and dingy. limited amount of towels. Dated cheap Ikea style modern furniture.
This is definitely NOT a luxury apartment, although very good location and very good gym.
- Monica (10/5): DC Apartment - My friends and I attended the NCTM Annual conference, this year in DC. We are so glad we opted for this apartment. It was just as convenient as the hotels, but with way more amenities and a better price. We had a kitchen as well as access to a washer/dryer. Great place to hang out and lots of coffee shops, restaurants, and a convention center within walking distance.
- Martha (10/5): Lovely stay in Washington DC - Great place to stay when in Washington DC.
Home away from home indeed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - Apartment was nice and beds were comfortable. There were no dressers in either bedroom or even drawers to put anything in. They did however have shelves in the closet.
Also the kitchen could really use some addition glasses. There were 6 talk glasses. There were no small glasses of any kind and no wine glasses. Usually fully furnished supplies those things at least. Also the room we had was right next to the elevator so one bedroom had the elevator noise running day and night. Could affect some people’s sleep.
The apartment had a nice tv and good coffee maker.
Security was good and although you can walk to everything, it was around 10-12 blocks to get to most of the sites so walking is for those who are fairly fit.
- Verified traveler (6/5): 1301 M Street; Pelican Residences - All fees should be posted on Hotels.com upfront. There was an additional administrative fee and an additional $100 cleaning fee added to the cost even though there was no maid service during my week stay. Hopefully, by the time this is posted that will change.Be sure to ask what total fees are before you book. There is no one to assist you on site. E.g., I had issues with the TV, I called the number and was told someone would call be back, they never did. Nonetheless, it is in a great location and would work if you are traveling with 2-3 people. There is a kitchen with dishes, pots and pans and the apartment is in a nice building. There is also a washing machine in the unit which is nice for longer stays. The apartment is also in a great area.
- Eric (8/5): DC Apt - Carpets need cleaning desperately. Had dishes but had big cracks and chips in them. Overall I would stay again. Hopefully they will get new shower heads. The water pressure was horrible.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Extremely dirty - Our "check in" was terrible. The staff had no idea about our apartment and didnt have our keys. The apartment had stains all over the carpet, kitchen was a mess, bathroom floors had hairs, we found a centipede in the bathroom, shower was clogged, kitchen faucet was dripping, pillows were stained. We called the operation manager but nothing was fixed. We paid for onsite parking and on the second day there was somebody else parked in our parking space. They told us to park in a handicap parking spot instead. Terrible experience!
- Daniel (8/5): Decent, clean, but not extraordinary - This apartment is decent, and the building and neighborhood are pretty nice. It worked well for me because my schedule for the week was all in this area. The inside of the apartment is kind of bland, and is builder quality for sure, nothing too special. While the title might make it sound like you're renting someone's apartment, it's really more like a one off hotel room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): a great 2-bedroom 2-bathroom apartment - It is a great 2-bedroom 2-bathroom apartment, kind of like timeshare setting. Very nice and clean, very good location and very reasonable price. CVS and restaurants are 5 min walking distance. 1-2 miles away from museums.
It will be great if they have black-out curtains for the 2 bedrooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place for a family of four to stay. comfortable and a great location
- darius (2/5): This is not a hotel - This is a group of individuals renting out a unit in an apartment building. They advertised free internet television. We also were made to believe that there would be a television inside of the bedroom. We called for assistance numerous times with zero assistance until the last day of our stay. Just to be told that the issue could not be resolved. We could not watch television whether it be cable or internet television. I was told that I would receive a refund within 10 business days. On the tenth day I called only to discover that my number had been blocked by every single line of communication to the company. Don't stay here not worth the money and you will have zero assistance.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and convenient - The apartment is super convenient and near the city center. The place itself is clean and have all the amenities.
- Juliette (10/5): Great first trip to DC in spacious apartment - For our three night vacation, we couldn't be happier with this apartment. It was clean, safe and in a 20 minute walking distance to the Mall; as well as close by to some great restaurants. Would highly recommend staying here, and can't wait to explore this companys' other city locations.
- Mohamad (10/5): Convenient location - Nice place to stay for 4 to 6 people. Cheaper than a comparable quality hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Comfortable place in a nice part of town. Good value for the money.
- Naomi (8/5): Awesome, but.... - Wonderful location. great responsiveness. exactly what is shown in the pictures. I agree with a previous reviewer about smell of cigarette smoke. When we first came in the smell of the cleaner masked it mostly. And it was bearable after. The master bath was had the strongest smell of smoke - especially the shower curtain. If you have a smoke sensitivity it may be an issue. Otherwise it would get a 10 out of 10.
- Katie (8/5): Great location - Apartment was in a good location to see the sites. It needed a few more cooking items (bowls and plates) and a few more pillows but everything else was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely great. Much better than renting two hotel rooms for the convention. Would totally rent this place again.
- Byambasuren (8/5): - It was a great and clean room with lots of space and all amenities needed. The location was also good. The only negative is that it had a smoke smell.
