- Explorer02726000869 (10/5): The Place to Stay! - Our family enjoyed a great stay at TownePlace Suites. There were so many things to do in the area and this location was perfect. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and was pleased with the variety they offered. The room was very clean. If we are ever in the area, we would choose to stay here again.
- Leanne (10/5): - Super friendly staff, beautiful property and the room was
- TN_Travelerz (8/5): Quiet hotel and reasonable price - Quiet stay. Older hotel but clean. Small breakfast area:arrive with time to be patient. Upgraded room our room unrequested to suite but very reasonable price for double queen. Business area with nice sidewalks to explore and exercise. Convenient to soccer tournament field, pro soccer stadium and space center. Outdoor patio. Requested late check out easily, and kind staff when asking for items ( soap, towels, etc). Allows pets but we did hear or smell pets.
- Calvin (10/5): - Very secluded hotel during the weekend. Quiet and clean and safe feeling. The staff was great from the check-in to breakfast to check-out.
Will definitely use them again when coming to Huntsville.
- Laban (10/5): - Quiet
- John (10/5): - That was my second time saying there, and it was awesome every time.
- English (9/5): Superb -

- Bothwell (8/5): Very good -
- scottsborop (10/5): consistent - :) I will always be a Marriott girl. Hey guys, OK, tear it to the great job. We're gonna exercise. - When I stepped into the Marriott TownePlace Suites at Redstone Gateway and saw Randy, I just knew this was gonna be a great stay. Marriott has always been a brand I love because they are always consistent. After 15 years in customer service I recognize above and beyond. Randy’s attention to detail with property & staff is always evident also I want to thank Taylynn For being so nice at check in. TownePlace is my home away from home. I get to relax. Get some much needed work done.
:) I will always be a Marriott girl.
- Brandy (10/5): Great place to stay! - How much stuff was in our room, the unexpected kitchen area and supplies. That the cleaning staff did not come in and straighten up while we were out in town.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- jasminebb757 (2/5): Keep looking for another place - Awful and very old! Place is stuffy and feels wet due to the old AC. Needs an update ASAP pronto. Floors are old, bathroom is old and I didn’t even want to lay my head down because it felt dirty.
Had I not got in at 4am from an awful day of travel I would have left.
Not worth the rate they have this listed for daily.
- Saravanakumar (10/5): - Met all oir expectations. Sofa bed isnt comfortable, should have got double bed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pet friendly - Great Stay! - Me and my son had a wonderful overnight stay! I am glad the hotel is pet friendly! I just wish there were more options for breakfast.
- James (6/5): - Property nice. However, room needed some TLC.
Couch in suite stained/soiled and had been ripped up by a former guest’s pet. Bathroom faucet loose. Toilet paper holder torn off wall by a former guest. And, additional fees at check-in which were not included on the Expedia website. Ghetto!
- Paula (6/5): - Nice location for where I needed to go.
- Avery (4/5): - I had to ask for a different room. In the first room the furniture was heavily stained. The walls were filthy, carpet was up in certain places. The second room wasn’t as bad but I did not feel clean.
- Jean (10/5): - Staff was so friendly and breakfast buffet was hot, fresh and tasty!
- osama (10/5): - Outstanding
- Jane (10/5): Great suites for a family close to popular Huntsville sites. - Nice to have 3 generations of family in same suite. Very close to Rocket museum and botanical gardens with plenty of dinning within a quick drive. The we had to hunt for sheets and blankets for sleeper sofa. No pillows were provided just for it as well. It was suitable for only children since the mattress was thin. Rest of beds were great.
- Hugo (10/5): - Please was close to my location, shopping, and good parking.
- Karen (5/5): Decent hotel, not great. - The staff I spoke with were all very friendly and helpful. Good options for a quick breakfast. Location was what we needed. The bed was comfortable and the temperature of the room was good. The room was not as clean as I expected - for example, there was a straw wrapper by the nightstand and I didn't use any straws in the room. Also, my TV wouldn't turn on. Certainly not an emergency but for the price I would expect the amenities to work. When I reported it the first day I was told the staff had already gone, and as I was checking out the next morning having it fixed then wouldn't help. I left contact information but was not contacted after I left.
- Carrie (6/5): So so... few options for 2 bedroom suites - 2 rooms, kitchen Dirty- food on walls, conditioner/shampoo empty, pull out couch was broken...kids had to sleep on the floor
- victorfN640CT (2/5): Avoid this hotel at all cost. - Terrible and horribly dirty hotel. I found a tub of sex intercourse lubricant in the drawer. Emailed the manager and got a typical generic reply. After I called them out, the manager wrote and said he would call me the following week. Well, that was two months ago. You’re better off staying in a one star hotel, at least you know what you’ll get.
- Jory (2/5): Very poor -
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- ArjsaNell (6/5): - Good place for a quick stay. Did not have a bar and breakfast items were very limited. Rooms are dated but functional.
- Oscar (6/5): Pleasant - Location Little rooms
- 892maureenk (4/5): Hotel does not meet expectations for the nightly room rate! - This Marriott property is not worth the prices they charge. When spending $175 per night (including taxes), I would expect to get cleaning services at least every other day. When they finally did service the room at our request, they did not take out the garbage or replenish the coffee service. Breakfast lacked variety and was out of one of their staples (oatmeal) for 3 out of 4 days. They still put the oatmeal toppings out because without that, the breakfast buffet would have appeared as barren and lacking in options as it was. The property is run down, especially inside the guest room, with wall unit HVAC systems and thread bare towels. Some of the employees were pleasant- but if you are not going to fix an issue, then nice is not enough.
- David (10/5): - A great area where everything is new. While it wasn't important to me to be close to the base, the facilities that i imagine that support the base was very nice.
Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff were very pleasant.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Lori (8/5): - It was a new developed section of the area near the Space and Rocket museum. Very convenient to restaurants.
- 673melodys (2/5): NEVER STAY HERE RANDY SHOE IS A LIAR AND FRAUD - Randy Shoe the general manager is a complete liar and a fraud. He put a $250 smoking charge on my bill but I ABSOLUTELY did not smoke in the hotel room. I asked for proof and he sent me a pic of a dirty mattress and claiming it's ashes. Anyone knows smokers can figure out better ways than stripping down the bed sheets and putting ashes in the SIDE of the mattress? Unbelievable how unprofessional, and a liar, and a thief that Marriott hotels has this man working for them
- Verified traveler (8/5): Quick overnight stay - Easy check in after late arrival. Helpful staff. Room was as described. Pillows and bed were comfortable. Water pressure could have been better but would stay again.
- Ken (6/5): Pleasant -
- richardhL5683GU (8/5): Quiet Huntsville Business Hotel - We stayed here a few days while my wife was in town for work and brought our dogs, for context.
The hotel itself is very nice. The facilities still look relatively new. Our room was relatively spacious and well-equipped (and the staff will get you other kitchen equipment, etc. if you need it). The central closet is a weird design choice, with a door off of the kitchen and another door off of the bathroom, with the room safe blocking your ability to get between the two halves of the closet, but that's a bit nitpicking. Breakfast wasn't fancy but adequate. Basically, this is a well-run version of this brand - not fancy but well-equipped.
More important for future guests to know is an understanding of the location. First, there is basically nothing around this hotel. It's in a partly built-out business park near the Arsenal gate. You are not walking to anywhere from this hotel. I think there are a few restaurants in the business park a few minutes walk from the hotel, but we didn't visit. Fortunately, the hotel has some snacks for sale in the lobby if you get hungry. Because the business park isn't fully built-out yet, it's pretty quiet even during the day (true of everything in Huntsville, actually). There is an artificial lake right behind the hotel with a nice walk around the shoreline, which was great for the dogs. If you want some shopping or nicer restaurants, there's a mall with a great movie theater just a few minutes drive away.
- MissPixie777 (4/5): Don't Count on Breakfast - For a major brand hotel in a major city, it was truly a disappointment. The hotel room was missing most of the coffee supplies and not enough towels. There was a piece of trash between the nightstand and bed.
But the major reason for the rating was the breakfast area. We arrived around 7:45 a.m., and there was nothing. I mean, nothing. We noticed a staff member near the area sitting down and on the phone. We asked hotel registration staff about breakfast, and we were told construction workers are staying here and pretty much wipe out the stock every morning.
We were told that the staff member on the phone was in charge of restocking. So we waited about 15 minutes. She was still on the phone, and we left.
We spoke to a senior staff member who apologized but didn't do anything. Incredible.
- leighwC870ZC (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway location - Bed and loveseat were very comfortable. Room was spacious for 2. Front desk had games (scrabble, uno, sorry, monopoly) that you could borrow and take back to your room. Great patio with view of a fountain in the small lake behind hotel. Some tables on covered part of patio have ceiling fans. The lake has a paved walking path. Close to great food at Bridge Street and so close to Space and Rocket Center (the purpose of our trip). Would definitely stay here again!
- AshSaddleRidge65305 (4/5): Very Smelly - Staff was very friendly. And it was as clean as it could be. One of our rooms smelled like smoke. The other smelled like dog. We weren’t aware it was pet friendly, as my daughters allergies were insane all night.
- Ghyslain (10/5): - 2nd time staying at this hotel. Every was clean and new. Everyone very friendly. Couple minor issues. 2 clothes dryers were not working and no sign on dryers and they new it. Also, no regular coffee available for our room at front desk after housekeeping leaves.
- courtneymE7001ZL (4/5): Don’t stay here - Terrible experience. Checked out a day early. Close breakfast early or don’t make anything once gone. Flooring peeling up in rooms. TV didn’t work and they didn’t fix. Workers didn’t care. Never again
- Charles (7/5): very average stay - nice large room, perfect if your visiting Redstone room was clean kind of expensive for a single night…room seemed nice enough. breakfast was lacking….plain eggs and croissants
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- outoftownvisitor_11 (6/5): TownePlace Suites Redstone - I've been experiencing power outages all day after the severe weather. The SEC women's tournament is going on this weekend and I definitely didn't want to miss it so decided to pay for a room so I could watch the tournament since the power was out at home. I got to the hotel, checked in and noticed that there are only like 20 changes available and SEC network is not one of them. I've never stayed at a hotel with such a limited selection of channels. The hotel itself is fine but I feel like I wasted my time booking a room. I guess I need to call and ask hotels what channel lineup they have going forward. Thankfully my power has been restored and I was able to come home to watch the tournament.
- chandelle0 (8/5): Convenient, but not as new as it appears - The hotel looks pretty new on the outside, so I was confused at the (peel and stick, it appears) flooring pulling up in our bathroom - it was a trip hazard. Breakfast the first morning was cold, was fine the second day. Overall, it's very convenient to Redstone and the USS&RC, but don't go thinking it's a brand new hotel.
- 566verik (10/5): The best staff I've ever met - If you're looking for some of the most professional, well-trained, and some of the kindest people in the business of Hotel staff, the men and women of this hotel are beyond any expectation. They rock!
- Yekaterina (10/5): - Option for two bedrooms, breakfast and service.
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Decent location - Room felt both updated and dated at the same time. It wasn't bad ... but did seem very pricey for what was available. Breakfast was mostly pre-packaged options - cereal boxes, quiches, waffles, bagels, etc all pre-made and individually wrapped. Again, fell a bit short of expectation considering rates. Elevators are obnoxiously loud/clangy each time doors open or close. Outside of that, our stay was quiet which was appreciated.
- Chester (6/5): - Nice staff. Rooms were worn out. Ripped carpet and kinda mold smelling
- PEDRO (4/5): - Our room was a hard smell of humidity.
- Janette (8/5): - The property was clean, the staff very helpful and the breakfast was good.
- Virginia (4/5): - Not very friendly or welcoming customer service. Noticed this with other hotel guests as well. (including family member that also had a hotel room) Musty odor throughout building including hotel room. Toilet was not sanitized and unclean. On the way out when brought to attention the need for better customer service and interaction of desk person, she became very friendly and asked how was our trip and wished us safe journey back home... TOO LATE
- TrusteeTraveler1908 (2/5): Unexplained Infestation - My recent stay at the Towneplace Suites Huntsville West/Redstone Gateway was one of the worst stays I have ever experienced. In selecting one of the highest priced suites there, I assumed my stay would be pleasant but it was the complete opposite to say the least. It started off with having to walk through hallways in which dirty linens/towels lie in the hallway from checkin until the later part of the following morning. This was followed by started with one suite that ended up with live insects throughout & dead insects in the bar lampshades that had been there for an "extended stay". After complaining, I was then reassigned a suite on a lower floor that housed a cockroach that greeted me when walking in. as well as a newborn cockroach that guarded the bathroom vanity wall. I can say that the concierge & employees that assisted with this issue were all very nice and understanding. I however was promised a call from both the manager & assistant manager to address the issues I experienced, but never received a email or not so much as a phone call which was very disheartening. For my suite to be in the lower $300’s per night and this location to only be 4 years old it is completely disgusting to think about what they were able to conceal.🤢Truly was frightened at the ‘unwanted souvenirs’ that I could possibly bring back home
- marywK7319XT (2/5): Bugs - We arrive late and we checked in got to our room and thought this is nice, the layout of the room was awesome had 2 separate bedrooms. When we went in the room, and tried to turn on The TV, it would not work. So the young guy at the front desk moved us to a different room. The you g man at the front desk really lacked in higene for a front desk attendant. He had very dirty and greasy hair. He looked as thought he could use a bath. Not very professional. The next room was worse. My husband had already gotten in the bed and I was unpacking and I started seeing bugs in the bathroom, roaches. After the 3rd sighting, my husband got up a d said let’s get out of here.
- Cathie (10/5): - Very comfy.
- ridleyj_13 (10/5): Great Place to Bed Down for the Night - Beginning of our Westward trek for the Las Vegas wedding of our niece. We were greeted by the Front Desk, very warmly. Placed in Room #319 - nice view outside. Everything was nice, clean, and working. A very comfortable property. Nice kitchenette, that was stocked appropriately. Property is located within the new Business Development area of Huntsville, near the Boeing office. Easy to get around. Will plan to stay there again, when we come back to the Space and Rocket area. At check-out, we were asked if there were any issues, which I thought was nice. We enjoyed our stay, and will stay there again.
- Paul (10/5): - This hotel staff was very pleasant to deal with.
- Randall (8/5): - Nice, clean, quite.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Did not like that they allow dogs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Property was functional and generally in good shape. The breakfast was good but rather limited. Staff was friendly and cooperative. Didn't like the lack of any housekeeping at all. Someone could have emptied the trash and vacuumed the floor at least. 2 lights in the room were non-functional. The room was adequate but not impressive.
- gregsN6703OY (10/5): Great stay - Staff was very helpful, from front desk to morning breakfast server. Commend them on their hospitality. One staffer recognized the solution to my ability to solve my internet connection issue was out of the normal daily issue resolution called me back and provided a number to the hotels IT help desk. All interface with staff was friendly. Really appreciate that.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the suite concept. It was comfortable and not like a typical hotel.
- LaShay (10/5): Fabulous! - My stay was fabulous! I booked this hotel for a small weekend getaway. I wanted a “home” away from home and this hotel did not disappoint. They took the Covid guidelines seriously. I was pleased to see several staff members present and cleaning. Check in was seem-less and I really appreciated the friendliness the clerk displayed. My room was neat, clean, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I had an issue with the bedding, but the person at the front desk took care of it immediately. I thoroughly enjoyed the kitchenette and full sized refrigerator. It had no problem storing all of my cooked/prepped meals for the week. Another staff member went above and beyond for me. I needed to print some letters, but the computers at the Business Center were lagging quite a bit. The staff member offered to and even printed the letters for me on the office computer. The free breakfast was as good as it could be considering the circumstances. I also loved the location of the hotel. Everything I needed was within 3-5 miles and easy to get to. University Drive can get pretty crazy, so I liked not being in the middle of the madness. Check out was just as seem-less as check in. I would definitely stay again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Located in a industrial type park, quiet on the weekends. Close to the main attractions. Rooms are of a good size, small kitchen with appliances. Friendly staff, breakfast is light. Nice overall.
- LJ (8/5): - I like that they offer 2 bedrooms w/living area & kitchen. Everything was clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The stay was comfortable and clean. It wasn’t overly crowded and the staff was very friendly. They didn’t have much of a breakfast perhaps with the Covid 19 but other than that we really enjoyed the stay and have been there before as well!
- joef579 (4/5): place is worn down. Only 4 working taking care of hotel. Not good for long stay! - The folks at the front desk are very nice, friendly and willing to help.
As far as the room, missing almost everything one knife, one plate...
Do not even try to do any cooking there.
Range is dirty, full of crumbs. Floor only vacuum once a week. vinyl flooring gets sticky, but not cleaned. We have asked to have someone mop the dining area over 2 weeks with no result! told the manager, but the maid is too busy!
We will be here close to a month. There are quite a few staying here not wearing masks even though the state of Alabama requires it!
Free breakfast is a small bottle of water, a small muffin and an orange/banana/apple.
Rooms are filled up. Thought they were to be no more than 50%.
Sanitizing wipes on the rooms is a laugh. they give us 2 wipes but only if you ask.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Misleading regarding pets - The hotel's website needs to make the pet fee more accessible to guests. I chose this hotel based on the fact that pets were allowed. I was not aware of the $150 non-refundable pet fee until we were checking in. If I had known about that I would have booked a different hotel. Our room was average. Nothing exceptional. Looked run down. Due to them not informing guests of the non-refundable pet fee, I will not be staying at any Marriot hotels in the future.
- Thomas (8/5): - Was charged twice for the room that has since been credited back. Other than that small detail, the stay was GREAT!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very comfortable and spacious. Loved having the kitchen facilities. The location was great. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I enjoyed the cleanliness, the amenities of the room and the professionalism of the staff. The WiFi was very spotty and didn’t really work all that well—my only complaint.
- DALE (8/5): Nice Hotel - My stay was comfortable. The only problem was the air conditioner vent continuously blew. Somehow the "auto" button wasn't working. Staff was very nice and professional.
- Janna C. (10/5): Nice place - Overall a nice place to stay! There was a hair ball in the bathroom floor. And the elevator was out of order for part of our stay. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay!
- Brenda (8/5): Great stay with one problem - Everything was great especially loved the kitchen but one down fall was the water pressure in the shower was very minimal which made for a horrible shower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice clean hotel, no complaints. Like the small kitchen area, good breakfast and pool.
- Devon (10/5): Great place - Great hotel and location. The room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. However next time I hope that they have the swimming poll situation resolved. The pool was not usable due to a green substance had formed in it that they were unsure of what it was.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Suite was nice, pool was out of service and it was 90 degrees every day no pool
- Matthew (6/5): - Air conditioner in room was leaking water all over the carpet. The hotel felt old even if it was refurbished. Nice staff. Good location!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place. Friendly staff and they have everything you need at no extra cost. You can borrow a blender, can opener, etc. Would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I would not stay at this hotel again. I had added an additional night prior to arriving to spend more time at the Space Center.
The hotel didn’t feel clean. It is isolated from just about everything. The staff didn’t appear to know exactly what they were doing. Not a fan.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice and clean and spacious suites. Comfortable sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Devin made us feel comfortable from the moment we checked in which was important as a mom traveling alone with my teenage son. He was very kind and professional. Room was excellent. It was actually bigger than I expected. It was also very clean in our room and all around the exterior parts of the property. It was a quick stay. Maybe next time will be longer! Thank you!
- Melissa (10/5): - We were in town with our two dogs to decide if we wanted to retire in the area. The room had a small kitchenette which worked well for preparing meals for us and our dogs. The staff were friendly, from the front desk to the housekeepers. The hotel is clean and quiet. It was a great stay and we would definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Breakfast was really good and hotel was pretty nice for the price. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hi,
The staff was super friendly! Our check in person (Valerie?) was very nice, and we also got the chance to chat with Matt and another staff member. Matt rocks! Southern Hospitality is real!
- Ihab (10/5): - Very nice , clean hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I enjoyed everything about my stay. The staff was great and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a really nice property but there area is still being developed so are no restaurants or stores near by.
