- Raasib (10/5): - We had the most incredible stay at the Desiterra hotel. The hotel was beautifully presented and clean. As a family of 4 we hired the family villa which was lovely with our own pool and fairly spacious. The staff are absolutely wonderful at the property and made our stay so worthwhile. They took care of everything we could ask for. We used all the facilities: the spa was great and we had a wonderful massage, the gym which was a little small but has what you need, the pool which has lovely views, and the restaurant had exquisite food - highly recommend the lamb chops and beef tagliata! All in all we couldn’t recommend the hotel more. We would certainly go back.

- Nicole (10/5): - This was an amazing vacation for our family. We stayed in the saffron gatherers villa which had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen, nice patio and pool. The villa has AC and it was nice a cool and the patio had the best breeze. The climate was amazing. The breakfast was great with a variety of egg omelettes and eggs and variety of pancake choices (Nutella), greek yogurt and granola, juices. Friendly staff, rooms were super clean and the staff was very attentive . Short car ride to Fira and Oia. We spent some days at the beaches and one day with caldera yachting on a sunset sail (which we HIGHLY recommend) The hotel is in the most perfect location, you can get every where relatively quickly. It is away from the hustle bustle and very peaceful and serene with the most amazing sunrises. The spa has great therapists and treatments as well. The beds were so comfortable and the showers had great water pressure and cold and hot water that never ran out. We travelled with three children. There are not enough stars to rate how amazing this hotel/villa is - amazing!

The location is a bit remote, about 10 minutes drive from Fira, but offers a peaceful atmosphere with great amenities. I would like to send out a special shoutout to both Michael at the front desk and Argyris, the hotel driver. Michael was always professional and always willing to help in booking excursions and transportation and made good recommendations. Argyris was absolutely amazing!!!! His level of professionalism, strong work ethic and patience, sets him apart from the rest of the staff. He has a paternal effervescence that makes you feel safe and well cared for.

- ARIANA (2/5): Poor service and smelly - The room was nice, however the service was really poor. We got a private villa (for privacy...) Firstly, the worker would come into the garden and walked by the pool whilst we were there. Secondly, instead of knocking on the door to speak to us, he would go into the neighbouring villa and talk over the hedge to ask us questions. Bearing in mind we were dress inappropriately so found it very disturbing. Due to the poor sewage system (I assume) the sinks in the room were extremely smelly (like a rotten egg) we complained multiple times until they decided to come and attempt to clean it - but the smell was still present. Overall the room was nice, but smelly and the service was poor. If it was only a few hundred for the stay it wouldn't be bad, but when you pay 1k+ it's very disappointing. We also mentioned it was our anniversary but no efforts were made - not expecting anything, but an acknowledgement would have been appreciated.

- Ratiba (4/5): - The views that we had from our villa was the best of all, but as soon as you get inside of the villa you get that bad smell from the bathroom sewer, the breakfast is nightmare not a lot of choices and even with what they offer a probably a 5 years old will cook better. To get to the property is another story, the roads are dangerous and no light or sign to the property except I believe at the beginning of the main road.

You must rent or arrange some sort of transportation (taxis can get expensive). They provide transportation from airport for 30 euros. The area nearby is under construction and really nothing to do near the resort itself. The resort does have a kitchen for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can be sent to the room. Sunset you will not be able to see the actual sun but the sky is pretty and there are many stars at night.

Only slight issue was the shower temperature was slightly inconsistent - but I’m sure is an easy fix. Would highly recommend
- Kelsey (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful! They use a WhatsApp, so that made communication super easy!! Our room unfortunately, had a very strong sewage smell. They were very responsive and she came at 10 pm to check and poured chemicals down the drains to help. This is apparently a problem across the island- we did notice a stench in other places. The chemicals did help and we were super appreciative of them working on it! We both really enjoyed breakfast! Wasn’t a problem for us because we were only staying for one day, but it’s not the most convent. Be prepared for taxis, using the (paid) shuttle, or renting transport.

It’s in a quiet spot just outside of Fira, which was perfect for us. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful with anything we needed. The two Mikes and Evi at the front desk were welcoming and attentive. Sandash and Peuiba in the dining room were excellent bar tenders and Servers. Loved the eco-friendly vibe too. If you want peace, privacy, and great service, this is the place. One area of improvement would be the availability of English speaking channels on TV . Otherwise this is a perfect spot to unwind after long days of sightseeing in Fira and Oia.

Also by 3 pm it was shaded for the day as it was on the north side of the room. So end of day time at pool ended up being the common pool. The room was amazing, very nice. There are pool towels available. They say they will bring them out but never do you have to ask. Food was quite expensive compared to within town. It’s a 10 minute drive to virtually anything, the hotel is all on its own no where to walk around.

- Gavin (10/5): Luxury retreat - Definitely aimed at couples or solos for a luxurious quiet getaway. We were with a 10 year old. All of us loved the place and were gutted to leaveI after 4 nights. Very quiet and out of the way so get a car. If you’re looking for a top class retreat this place is amazing. Food is great as is the service. Bit pricey but it’s to be expected with what the resort is aiming for. Highly recommended, we’ll be back!

The property is outside of the city and there is only one hilly rocky road that leads to it. It is a 50 minute walk to Fira so be prepared to rent an ATV, Car or pay 25€ each way for a transfer. For example, We needed to go to the market our first day, it cost us 50€. Aside from that the entire staff are amazing — The drivers, cleaning ladies, hotel staff, every one of them! So welcoming and ready to help in a moments notice! We highly recommend this property!

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Communication was a struggle at times but we always worked through it. The food at the property is very good as well! Travelled as small family so it was so accommodating for us and recommend the spa/massage and the luxury cruise booked for us by reception.

Fira is only 10 minutes away.

Walking distance to fantastic beach and restaurant. Road to the hotel is an adventure, and prices are on the high end for Greece.
- FRIDA (10/5): - I loved all the staff members, Zoi and Michalis at the front desk, Kalia Hercules and Pascals at the restaurant/bar. They really made our stay the best it could have ever been. Their kindness and hospitality was off the charts, some of the best I have experienced at any resort. I especially liked how we were talked to about main attractions, restaurants and things to do in Santorini as soon as we arrived for our stay. And they were able to book everything through the resort for us- including my rental car. It was so efficient and very convenient. I also particularly like the WhatsApp front desk feature- where you can ask them a question any time via message on whats app. So convenient, and they are always online to help!!! I also really like how they have food going almost all the time- breakfast then lunch, then dinner. And room service. A 5 star sublime resort and experience for sure! However, there was an ant infestation which was still there after the room had been cleaned, communication didn’t feel that easy with staff as they were not very helpful and the restaurant was disappointing - for example we asked for chips and were told they do not get served for dinner however, the same waiter brought out chips to another person in front of us twice for dinner. The food was average if that at best.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointed and wouldn’t stay again - I would not stay here again. I was weary due to the location but after reading amazing reviews was won over and decided to book. First issue - we booked a couples massage in our villa, I have currently been charged twice for this. Once on check out as expected and then another 3 days later. I find this dodgy from a hotel that is aimed as a luxury provider. I have had to go through a process with MasterCard regarding the duplicate charge and still have not received the duplicate payment back. The set up with private pools outside each villa is very nice, however our private pool wasn’t cleaned during our stay and it was very windy, there was dust, leaves and flowers floating all over the top and it would have been nice to have the top skimmed daily. The toiletries weren’t replaced during our stay, towels weren’t replaced and the linen from the previous guest remained in a pile outside the back door of our villa for the first two days. There was hair in the shower when we arrived. It was the little details and service that was missing from this being a great stay. It had so much potential as the set up is nice, however the execution lacked. We have the hassle of trying to get a duplicate payment refunded and it wasn’t the clean high standard we expected from reading the reviews. i was also changed €10 for using a credit card on check out which is a bit ridiculous and we weren’t pre warned of the need to pay in cash.

Lastly, we will miss our nightly visits from Smartie while enjoying the tranquility that Desiterra has to offer. My only suggestion would be to rent a car as taxiing from place to place can become quite expensive. It costs 30 euros round trip to Thira and 60 euros to Oia and back. Would definitely return !

The area is remote so if you need something that is walking distance to food/shopping, this is not for you. You have to pay to get a taxi to go into town. They do have a couple of restaurants that will deliver directly to your villa which is nice. Maria was a great host and gave us a lot of great tips while we were there. Sweetie, the dog, is the mascot, watch out, he will steal your sandals if you are not watching hahaha. There is a beach that is a 20 minute hike away. I would suggest either taxi to get there quickly or wearing water shoes becuase the terrian is very rocky.

Me and my girlfriend have just returned from a 5-night stay there and can not thank them enough for making our trip to Santorini an unforgettable experience. We arrived after a lengthy journey from Manchester and received a warm welcome (and a glass of wine) from our concierges, Maria and Stella and the owner of Desiterra, Dimitri. All of the staff at Desiterra were extremely warm, welcoming and friendly and could not do enough to help us. They offered us amazing recommendations for food, drinks, excursions and activities. Another important member of staff was the villa’s dog, Smartie, who was also on hand to greet us upon arrival. Being dog lovers ourselves, we found it to be a nice touch that Smartie was well looked after. A full breakfast service was available for delivery to the villa. There was 3 ‘tiers’ of breakfast available with varying amounts of food. We took advantage of the breakfast on our first morning at Desiterra, it was tasty and the portions were generous. Maria and Stella were on hand to book taxis for us to help us commute around the island. The drivers were professional and timely and always made sure to pass us their card so we could call them and arrange our return journey as and when required. A taxi or a rental car is required to reach other locations on the island.

The location is tranquil, away from the busy side of the island, bathed in ocean views, cool breezes and show stopping sunrises. Well appreciated. Our villa was lovely, large and spacious, really clean, cozy bed, excellent wifi, great soundproofing and well equipped, though disappointing, not complete with all furnishing as per our booking. Management did promptly correct this situation when we brought it to their attention. We loved our private terrace and pool to enjoy our villa's outdoor living. It made our visit extremely special to enjoy sunrise every morning with our coffee on the terrace... heaven :) One note, do not confuse private terrace with having total privacy, as the terraces are only separated by half walls and lattice, and you remain within sight and sound range from other guests on their terrace on that level. No food on site, but we were impressed with the "take out" partnership they have with local restaurants. We had the most incredible greek food delivered right to our villa door for an incredible value. We had a car rental during our stay and it really served us well.

The view from the private patio looks at the Agean sea and has a price drag water pool. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We will tell all our friends and will return as often as possible.

There were very limited services at the site (no restaurant etc) but the team there ensured that we could get the 10 minutes into Fira to a broad range of locations or have food delivered. They help select fantastic restaurants for us and always made sure we had the best tables for the views over the Caldera to see the spectacular sunsets. Every recommendation exceed our expectations. Compared to the costs and room sizes on the other side of the island this location was amazing value for money. The owners and their entire team made us feel so welcome.

The Villa with private pool and lounge area are perfect combination for relaxation and tranquility. You can watch the sunrise and sunset right outside your villa. It is 15 minutes drive away from Fira. We are so glad that we didnt get a hotel on the hilltop tightly squeezed together.

- Matt (10/5): Simply amazing! - My wife and I recently stayed at Desiterra Suites and Villas for the 2nd part of our honeymoon and we were amazed! This place is so well kept and the views are awesome. From the moment we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the staff, in which they took care of our luggage and offered us complimentary, delicious Greek wine. The owner is also a great, humble individual and made us feel so welcome. He took care of any requests we had and the staff gave us plenty of advice in regards to the best restaurants, views & shops in Santorini. They even called in reservations for us to get the best table at a cliff side restaurant with amazing views! The Villa we stayed in was also amazing. It was definitely more than big enough for 2 people, with 2 bathrooms, 2 king size beds, a kitchen, A/C, daily housekeeping and last but not least, the private pool that comes with the Villa. The view from the Villa was beautiful with the ocean straight ahead and the well kept landscaping. We would highly recommend Desiterra Suites and Villas for anyone visiting Santorini, especially newlyweds!
- Gilad (10/5): Really special hotel - This is a unique hotel to Santorini. It's located outside the town of Fira (8 minute drive), so extremely quiet, but also right in the middle of the island so easy to get everywhere by car. The rooms are spotless, including the pool, and the surroundings are beautiful. There's a fully equipped kitchen, so we bought stuff at the supermarket and cooked our own breakfasts. It's also possible to order cheap dinner from a couple of restaurants that deliver. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and had a lot of tips about the island. Highly recommended :)
