The one day arrived and I stayed with my daughter and her two daughters. It was soooo nice. We did have some maintenance problems, but they were resolved very quickly by the staff. The bad is the wifi is extremely spotty (keeps dropping out), and the breakfast, although extensive is lukewarm, and service is nearly non-existent when busy.

• Passport38010123110 (10/5): A five-star experience that lives up to the hype - High-fives all around to The Cullinan. My standard room was consistently clean and spacious, the facilities were top-notch, and the staff were lovely. A special shout-out to Veronica in particular, who treated me like an old friend every morning and was happy to go the extra mile for anything. I even had a birthday cake left in my room as a pleasant surprise! I normally come down to Cape Town once a year for the Comic-Con convention, and I’ll definitely be staying at The Cullinan again next year.

• Hanna (9/5): Great stay and SPA @ the Cullinan - I liked how central and well maintained the Hotel is. Their staff is quite friendly and the beds really comfy. Bathroom was well equiped and the shower fantastic! The Hotel was super full due to soccer and rugby being hosted in the city and a lot of teams staying in the Hitel, but we never heard any noise - so I guess the rooms are quite soundproof. Breakfast and dinnet were very good as well the Hotel Spa. Loved the weekend stay there! We were 3 adults staying in a double room, but they only provided for two all the time. We had to phone reception about 10 times all together to ask for extra towels, water, coffee, mug and glass. They supplied the extras on the first night, then took everything away the next morning and from there on we had to ask for the same thing over and over and over. This was the only annoying part of our otherwise wonderful weekend.

Everyone was super attentive and added beautiful touches for my birthday celebration this week. The food was beautiful and drinks at Stella. I cannot over emphasise what an amazing hotel this is, because each staff member goes over and beyond the call of duty. Hester, Mark, Shaun - just to mention a few were exceptional but every team member, just excellent. The spa treatments at Mangwanani were beautiful. My family truly felt at home and had an amazing time There is no feedback here as everything was spectacular!

However the accessible room wasn't what we were expecting so we complained a lovely person called Edward moved us up to a suite.

• Heidi (4/5): I will not stay there a second time. - Close to the CTICC The climate inside the hotel was set on hot! It was cold outside but a public place should be neutral. It was actually really terribly unpleasant. When I complained the staff at front desk looked surprised and irritated. The things in my room were not working. Telephone issues, one light out, the air conditioner panel shone a glow at night keeping me awake but the couldn’t fix it. They do not serve a mimosa….

We had booked the base category room which was very small. So we upgraded our room to the next category and the room was big and with all good amenities. The location of the hotel was very nice, close to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront. We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The hotel has a free shuttle service to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront. We had taken the shuttle during our stay. it was very convenient. The hotel breakfast was very good and the room service menu too was good with lots of healthy options. The stay in the hotel was very comfortable and very convenient. The behaviour of the staff was very helpful. The hotel swimming pool was small in size and they also had spa facility. We had good time and made good memories at the hotel.

• NoreenM798 (10/5): The Staff make the Cullinan - Before I back the title, I just want to talk a little bit about this Hotel. The Cullinan is a stunning hotel in a great location. The hotel is beautiful inside and out with a gorgeous pool. The pool is warm and open till 7pm. The hotel is clean and spacious and our room was lovely. The room is cleaned every day and they even come in the evening to close the curtains, do the bedding and leave you some chocolate. Nothing is ever too much, we were constantly calling for more water bottles or towels and they were always delivered quickly. The hotel has a shuttle bus that leaves every hour to go to the Waterfront which is 5 mins away. There are always sweets in the afternoon in the reception and fresh lemon water and juice and cold towels to freshen up when you come from outside. Breakfast was outstanding with so many different options! Now to talk about the staff. The staff are absolutely amazing and are a real asset to this Hotel. Everyone is so helpful and accommodating They will go out of their way to make sure you have exactly what you need. I would like to mention a few special people and would be grateful if you could convey our thanks to them! Chad - the lovely pianist, he played all of our requests and always took some time to speak to us during breakfast. We are looking forward to seeing him play at the Royal Albert some day! AbuBakr in reception - my husband struck a friendship with him and he always made him smile. AbuBakr was super sweet and so helpful. Junaid and Sonwabise were so funny and always made us laugh! We discussed football with them every time we saw them and Junaid was so helpful in keeping us safe when we wanted to wonder the streets by ourselves! Sonwabise always had the most warmest smile. Aakifah (trainee chef) - my husband had some stomach problems for a couple of days and she was always so helpful and provided us with bananas for him and would make him special granola. All the above and the rest of the staff made our stay so special, they made us feel safe and comfortable and we would 100% come back to this Hotel again! I would highly recommend the Cullinan to anyone looking to stay in Capetown - it truly takes a piece of your heart.

• Subash (3/5): - The location I found the the service for a hotel of this standard to be rather poor I called reception three times for a iron and ironing board only to be told sorry we busy and the shower door didn’t close properly overall this hotel doesn’t meet the standards of its star rating
• Shilpa (8/5): - My stay was because of the Two Oceans marathon. They were very accommodating by providing early morning shuttle service to the start line and breakfast for all the runners. This was going beyond their regular service which was impressive. The pool area service can be improved.

They also served sweets and snacks in the late afternoons which the kids loved. We couldn’t get rooms next to each other which was important to us travelling with kids. I think this is more a Booking.com issue though. If someone books 2 rooms and adds kid’s ages, they should get interlinked rooms or those next to each other.

• Ralf (9/5): Amazing staff, couldn’t do enough for you. Hotel cleanliness and facilities were excellent. Good transfer shuttle bus to - Very clean and comfortable, staff are exceptional. Pool could have been cleaned a little better.
• Meander08909271558 (10/5): 5 stars from me! - We had a lovely stay at The Cullinan. Shaun the head of guest relations is an assett to the hotel, so friendly and always greets us when we come back to the hotel after our day out. He booked all our dinners for us even when the restaurant is fully booked he always gets us a table. The pool area is super clean and and the bar / restaurant staff are 1st class. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this hotel everytime we stay in Cape Town :)
